This sounds like a scam. Pay before you even join party?! I know people who sell Simin spots @ actual Simin, without fighting trash for 15G. Also, theres no guarantee, to party with other randoms who pay 20G for a spot and you think you will beat this? Lol. Enjoy wasting your money. Better off paying people who are already @ Simin, or past her
Because it is in the end. Even if you do complete the path you scam yourself by paying 20g for 40 minutes to one hour’s work.
Too bad you only get five points for volunteering to switch teams. :P
Agony is only applied at 10+
Oh yeah, I forgot to add the current rewards system isn’t rewarding enough towards players that choose to defend a capture point, rather than running to the next and losing the previously captured point right after.
I’m not sure if A-net either didn’t want players to defend capture points (I can understand if they dislike the concept of extreme bunkers being nearly impossible to kill 1v1) or if they simply wanted SPvP to solely be action-themed, with all players constantly running from points X to Y.
I must agree with the OP, you see far too many players that stack 7 people on capture points solely for the purpose of gaining glory points.
I can’t really imagine any way around this that doesn’t have its drawbacks for the actual players, so I guess it has to stay.
In the past months I’ve only seen this (people demanding a 1v1 a/o trakittenalking) one or two times.
Do you play on an NA or EU server?
They can’t really add anything above greens as 100% drops from chests, otherwise people will just start farming the first parts of specific dungeons, like people used to farm 15s and loot bags from Arah.
Btw the PERFECT team comp for Coe is 5 thieves. Tested and true
how about no
you doing a five man run with friends and getting a decent time doesn’t really make it a PERFECT team composition, if such thing even exists outside the minds of CoF1 farmers and DM-title lusting players about to do Arah 4
I’d pay nothing. I’ve done it with 2 necros and me as the only warrior without any kind of bug abuse.
Score is irrelevant as long as you win, no? It’s not like ranks are important either way
But yeah, I do agree that the scoreboard is a bit too much of the offensive players’ favour. I’m guessing this is because Anet intented SPvP to be action packed, not just someone sitting on a capture point for a large part of the game.
So, what about increasing in fractal scale? The way I understood it a player at like 20 wouldn’t progress to 21 if he did a scale 19 fractal, but if a scale 19 player did scale 20 or 21 he’d progress?
Path 1 and 3 have always been very fast. People just rarely did the dungeon enough to find out.
Stories usually give green equipment appropriate to the story’s level requirement
I recently bought an exotic spear with the intent of using it in the hotw dungeon. Since hotw is more or less the only place I do underwater combat, I decided I’d get one of the 10% damage sigils. The thing is, both a 10% against icebrood and a 10% against sons of svanir sigil exists.
My question is, are the final bosses of path 2 and 3 considered sons of svanir or icebrood? Perhaps both? Visually they look like icebrood, but the HotW dungeon vendor sells the sigils that give a damage bonus against sons of svanir.
An official response would be nice.
Aren’t AC weapons cheaper than other dungeon weapons? I know that at least the exotic armour is cheaper than it’s counterparts.
Perhaps they’ve ninja patched AC weapons/items to not give ectos since they’re easier to obtain
Not really a problem you encounter unless you solely PUG all your dungeons.
Cool, but not as impressive as the other solo videos. Exploiting isn’t cool, you know. :P
You might want to state whether you play on an US or EU server. That being said, good luck. Personally I think path 1 is harder than path 4, but that might just be me.
Anyway, about Randall bugging out. The thing Robert stated about the bloodstone (Randall dying, being interacted with etc) can also happen at Giganticus Lupicus. Try to keep him alive.
Both the CoF and CoE events can easily be completed with 5 people. Arah might be a problem though, but I’m pretty sure there still will be people doing CS events and thus Arah because of the chests.
In fact, with guesting, people can do the Arah events on multiple servers making the dungeon uncontested on more servers.
Dungeon contested? Go find a world that isn’t.
You can already get around contested dungeons by inviting a friend who’s playing on a different server where the dungeon’s event chain is completed.
We’re aware of this bug and I’ve personally already seen to its fix. He was/is indeed attacking with a 240-280 degree arch from his front, so for the time being you will have to get directly behind him to avoid being hit by the screech. This will be fixed!
Wow, I had no idea it was a bug. What about the graveling scavengers? Are their leap knockdowns bugged as well? Because I’ve seen people standing at least 300 range behind/away from them getting knocked down repeatedly and taking damage from their Eat Corpse ability
Well done! A perfect display of eles not being useless, unlike what some people like to think.
Even if the mobs had their HP lowered people would still skip them. There are already a ton of threads on this subject already.
That means you were lucky enough to have a coordinated group. Some people do not know how to complete the torch event—-then it goes downhill from there.
This. Torch event coupled with the run through the urn/bomb area and a final boss that’s invulnerable for half of the fight just makes it unappealing to the people that want a quick and easy run for money/tokens.
Yeah, just run p1 for tokens. 2 and 3 are just too long now that they’ve “fixed” them.
What was fixed in 2 and 3? I haven’t done HotW in awhile, but I’ve done it after the huge map exploits were fixed. 2 actually seems quite fast. The last time I did 2, I just skipped one of the dogs. Then after the two quaggan guy boss, swam straight to the final boss.
Both of the end bosses have insanely large HP pools (especially for an underwater mob) and the other bosses are just as boring. The final boss on path 3 also spawns barracudas hitting for 3-5K in addition to his suicide jellyfishes.
Today when i logged on i got some bad lags, some of my friends also got it.. the load screen from character to ’’game’’ took longer then it used to do.. Never noticed anything like this before
Hello, I have same problem from today morning. I play on world Blacktide(EU). After first loggin i started have 5-10 sec game freezes. When i entered to dungeon Twilight Arbor, i had like 20-30 freezes and 4 DCs. Game is unplayable for me now. Never had lags or DCs before.
This.
same problem here and for many of my friends, never ever had any problems before today
Neat. Why exactly is it you take the frenzy utility? Aren’t there better alternatives?
Skipping is boring and unrewarding in a fraction of the time though.
Also, some people just like to complain about it because they feel like others should be forced to play the same as them.
Not skipping is just as unrewarding unless you value blues highly
Yeah, just run p1 for tokens. 2 and 3 are just too long now that they’ve “fixed” them.
As egoistic as it might sound, I don’t think you should advertise if you want to skip certain trash mobs in dungeons. The amount of people who want to skip mobs clearly outnumber those who want to kill every single trash mob.
It’s not a problem unless we’re talking about skipping a boss (in my opinion)
Some people just like to clear out every single mob they can find. It’s a matter of preference in playstyle.
There are other dungeons than fractals, you know.
Most of the bosses are so “easy” that dying shouldn’t even be an issue if you are a good player.
I’m not 100% on this, but I think the waypoint closest to Lupicus is the same as path 3. You also get to do everyone’s favourite orb running part.
And yeah, the run to Lupi from P1 is very long. It’s one of the reasons that the path is so unfriendly towards inexperienced players; if you die you are pretty much out of the fight
I think 30 minutes for Grenth is a bit of an exaggeration. Presuming the first wraith doesn’t reset it might be 10-20 minutes
Bjarl’s been bugged for a couple of weeks. He doesn’t lose the debuff when he runs into the pillars so the only way to damage him is through conditions.
He doesn’t drop silver or bags.
Killing any mobs between the slave driver and the acolyte room would be a waste of time.
watched the vid, don’t see the bug… not sure if she went invis or not, that might be the bug you’re talking about. Not sure though, couldn’t really see much.
She never attacked, never petrified anyone, and didn’t go invisible and her healing breeze didn’t started, she was like a statue.
I’ve heard that some bosses just stucks when DPS is too high ( alpha, lyssa ) but she started do nothing since i pulled her..
Alpha gets stuck when he spawns the Alpha’s Essence during the third fight. Idk about Lyssa, the times we fought her she was stuck from the beginning of the fight
P3, the first boss, the hunter guy, is immune to blinds even though his tool tip says nothing about that.
Blinds are less effective on enemies with the Defiant buff.
Just wait until you die at the final boss on path 3 and the trash mobs start noclipping through the entire map and camp your waypoint. :P
Lupicus:
-Resetting at random times (I’ve only experienced this once, it was when he was supposed to change to the 2nd phase but he regenerated to full HP instead)
-Targetting the same player throughout an entire phase. This is not necessarily a bug but it really sucks for the player and the fight gets a bit boring for the rest of the team.
-You can get stuck in the “barrier” around his death cage thing. You keep getting knocked down and take heavy damage even if you are outside the cage.
Path 1:
-The tar elemental boss (I think it’s called Legendary Skaggoth) sometimes places the covered in tar debuff on you. Some times this debuff cannot be removed with the whiskey, and you have to either die or wait 50 seconds for it to expire.
-Abilities remain disabled even after the debuff is removed. You have to relog in order to get your abilities back
-If the NPC dies during the stargazer fight she gets stuck and will not open the door
Path 2:
-Some times it feels like the golem suit doesn’t respond to the power discharges. Not sure if this is a bug or just the result of PING.
-Lupicus gates not opening
-Alphard gets stuck when teleporting and doesn’t use any abilities until she reaches 75/50/25% HP and summons illusions
-Alphard staying on one target during the entire fight (A bit like Lupicus, not necessarily a bug but it can be frustrating for the player)
Path 3:
-Invisible projectiles thrown by the risen hands during the second fight
Path 4:
-The Lyssa boss gets stuck straight from the beginning and doesn’t use a single ability.
-Lupicus doesn’t wake up after the cutscene.
-Personally I’ve never had any difficulties with this part but the spark AI during the Simin fight is apparently not always the best
-The bloodstone does not become hostile after the risen around it have been killed
Never heard of the path 2 bug before. The door has always opened for me once we killed the two abominations.
Path 1 is actually a path that’s potentially shorter than path 2 if your team knows what its doing. This is probably not the case if this is the first time you run the path, but it does say something about the complexity of the path. :P
Before you head in I recommend that everyone buys some ash legion spy kits as they can be used to skip a large amount of (very!) annoying trash mobs. Avoid pulling the risen mages/spiders on the way to the first boss. Make sure you kill the guardian eyes + risen on the southern side of the room and range it to death. If everyone has spy kits you can simply run past everything on the way to boss 2. Use spy kits to lose aggro from the orrian drakes (just make sure you arent standing in their poison)
Boss 2 is very simple. Stay in the light to damage them, step out if you take too much damage. After the 2nd boss use the detonator to kill the trash mobs on the way to the third boss. The third boss does bug every now and then, permanently disabling your abilities. This can only be fixed by logging out (normally you are supposed to be able to remove it with the whiskey) but you have to run for 2-3 minutes to get back.
There’s a very long run to Lupicus if you die so make sure everyone is experienced.
Everything on the way to Korga (boss after Lupi) can be skipped. You can lure Korga to the end of the tunnel to avoid having him ressurect too many adds. If you clear the room full of spiders after Korga you get a room with 2 respawning crystals for the final boss. Once the final boss has appeared, the player that the NPC is following should walk far away from the boss room to avoid having the NPC walking into the fire when the boss is killed. If the NPC dies, she wont open the door and you’ll have to glitch through it.
Path 4 is pretty much just bosses. I don’t remember too much about them but most of them with the exception of Lyssa can pretty much just be AFKed with ranged. Grenth requires you to pay a bit of attention though. I recommend that you do some research on Simin before you do this dungeon as she might prove very difficult if you don’t know what you are going up against. The strategy I use is;
1) Damage her to 50% health so she stealths for the first time
2) Lure 4 of the 5 sparks in place
3) Have her regenerate to full HP
4) Damage her to 50% health once again so she stealths. 4 players should continue to use auto attacks on the location she was standing.
5) Lure the final spark in place to make her visible
6) Blow everything you’ve got on her. If she doesn’t fail start killing her the regular way, luring 5 sparks at a time.
That’s all I remember at the moment, have fun.
That being said, PM me if you want to do the two other paths. I can and will join for both of ’em.
HotW is a perfect example of an otherwise good dungeon being destroyed by artificial difficulty. The bosses (and the trash mobs, especially the champion goliath on path 3) simply have way too much for HP for the dungeon to be enjoyable.
Use an ash legion spy kit or get a thief to shadow refuge you
Took me no time finding people for Arah 4, the key is to find people on the forums (Such as Haviz :P) and get people through contacts
Tbh aside from the Simin fight which might be an issue in some groups, Arah 4 is one of the easier paths.
I guess CoF 1 is the new Arah 1. The latter one’s been bugged for over a month and still no signs of a fix.
Just a tip so it doesn’t bug out on you. Before you fight the final boss see who the npc is following and have that player stay away from the bosses room so she doesn’t die and the gate glitches
That doesn’t always work. If the NPC is too far away she will simply teleport into the area where you fought the boss and walk straight into the fire. On the other hand, if she’s just outside the area she will also run into the fire. It’s a really meh situation and it pretty much requires you to be able to glitch through the gates.
Another thing I should mention is that the tar boss on p1 is bugged as well. The covered in tar debuff that´s supposed to temporarily disable your skills is now permanent. When the debuff expires your abilities will still be disabled. The only thing that gets them back is closing your client and re-logging.
You should make it clear whether this guild is NA or EU.
Lupicus is one of the few actual bosses in the game, why do people want him nerfed?
Is it because all of the other explorable bosses are so easy people forget how to play the game?
