thats alot of damage.
you could use venoms and leech life when triggering them. the regeneration you can get access to as a thief is insane. and p/d and sb are great at throwing conditions at people.
ah ok, I used to play s/d before the 3 skill buff with a cleric venom share build. but really didn’t enjoy the play style after a few sessions in WvW even though I got great results.
never picked the stealth on steal trait before and I feel its more beneficial for p/d play as I gain a good attack opportunity. also if I dont target something like you say Vincent its an awesome defensive skill too.
I would make a thief yourself and play a couple hot joins. best way to learn how to counter a class is to play one. thats why I made a thief, to learn how to counter it.
the only trait I pick every time without fail is the condi clear every 3 seconds in stealth so yea I agree that is important.
maybe the trait changes will bring some nice diversity that will counter the shadow arts nerf which agree is highly likely.
I welcome the changes to trait lines on most classes
pixels, I noticed its a good tool for stomping downed players in group fights too.
im exploring different traits and was just hoping for other players input :-) thanks
haha yea I think I was having issues with it to start with but not sure if that was due to me still using CnD before steal out of habbit/muscle memory. This of course was putting me straight into revealed debuff rather than stealth.
worked great when I stopped CnD before stealing as its no longer needed with that trait. I use 0/0/30/20/20 with vigor on heal and might on dodge, fury might swiftness and vigor on steal. < making my steal very effective as a team utility as well as personal strategy.
im aware this isnt optimal for condition built thief but I have had ALOT of fun and great fights using it.
I have also turned off auto attack so cant help with determining whether that is bugging it out.
does anyone else use the stealth on steal trait?
im currently using blind on stealth, lose a condi every 3 seconds in stealth and stealth on steal.
I have sacrificed the shadow rejuvenation trait to gain an initiative free stealth a condition removal and AoE blind.
currently playing P/D pvp, wvw and pve.
any thoughts?
I main necro too. but p/d thief is my 2nd favourite class to play. if you miss CnD your screwed lol
trick is not to miss! ;-)
I love p/d thief.
I enjoy it so much more than burst thief.
pew pew.
I like the 3 skill on p/d but rarely use it. pistol 2 is IMO a waste of initiative
a scythe would make me very happy
mightytroll, you say you main all classes. how is that possible? im not having a dig im just curious. I main necro and play alot of guard thief and warrior. tht like what your saying?
burning is one of the main reasons I enjoy my condition warrior.
enterring DS to kill everything on screen.
leaving DS to ‘reanimate’ all the dead.
and I want to be able to put a saddle on my flesh golem.
it is a wish list…
yea man stability on DS is awesome in big wvw fights.
and I like the idea of sswitching out the traits at certain scenarios given the chance. I do this alot too.
palmski.
if you follow the zerg id take chill on blind over hemophilia as it would be a benefit for the zerg having AoE chill. solo or small group roaming id take hemophilia but thats personal preference I guess.
I can’t answer your other questions as I dont understand them.
I would also have suggested that andele but I assumed (possibly incorrectly) that the OP only has 10 in curses.
if you do have 20 in curses depending on what it is you wanted to do I would pick up chilling darkness and terror.
nice work man, interesting use of utilities and a good display of skill.
if you’re condition specced you shouldn’t drop terror for chill on blind. that would be a very bad idea.
sil, anet wanted thieves to have the best mobility in wvw. its not an accident theyre like that.
pick up the boon removal on burning trait and the boons the thieves steal from you wont be there for too long.
I hate d/p thieves, takes all the fun out of playing a thief and its horrible to play against. they arnt unbeatable but are bloody annoying.
a bundle is an engineer utility I believe. I may be wrong.
turns out I was wrong ;-)
I know it doesn’t have the sacred shortbow in this set up. but I really enjoy using these weapon sets mostly for mobility from sword 2, damage mitigation pistol 5 and of course the interrupts pistol 4 and the combo skill pistol whip. only switch to p/p set if someone is out of range (and I need some quick damage to finish them off) or I don’t want to melee. unload also looks and feels great and decent dps.
anyone else enjoy this at all?
im aware of the other options and what is percieved to be more powerful. but thats not what im asking. < no offence intended.
why dont you go 3pieces of valk armor and 3 pieces of knights? maybe head chest and legs knights as they give most stats and the others valk for a little more HP (which scales with death shroud) and crit dmg.
just a suggestion.
im glad im not the only one that thinks shroud stomping is ok.
and stealth stomps are a pain but easily countered if ur on a necro. warhorn daze and staff 5 will do the trick as thieves have very limited access to stability.
not to mention you can just dps a thief into either downed state or pressure him enough to just leave. dagger 1 works great

karma vendors in orr is where I got my rabbid set from. Though you can buy it off the TP if you have alot of spare gold. carrion armor and rabbid accessories are a good mix I find. you get (roughly) 20% crit chance and 22k health without speccing into blood.
I use knights armor with ruby orbs and beserk accessories. I get alot of dmg this way and ok survivability as I use a spectral build using DS alot.
you mean the cosmetic look of it cempa? the build itself or the stats? I don’t understand what your asking.

if shroud stomping gets ‘fixed’ ill cry like a little girl.
I dong think its a bug tho. so can’t see Anet thinking this needs to be fixed. its hardly game breaking.
they can mist form once every 50-60s (thats a complete guess I dont play ele) and we can shroud stomp every 10s. I love to shroud stomp. I think becase out cooldown is significantly less than the ele’s even though it can be countered by another necro,, our stomp is better.
I completely disagree about axe 2, I love the animation. it feels like im ripping into my opponents.
axe 1 however has a horrible feel to it but it is an auto attack and alot of auto attacks are the same. I rarely use axe 1 as im generally using 3 then 2 and switching between sets and death shroud.
Kited.
it may be something you can use as a power spec. weakness or blind arnt effected by condition dmg.
and I do actually agree with you that adding a new condition at this stage could be a bad move. but as they are going to do it anyway we should embrace it and influence their decision in a good way and not complain too much about something that may be a vefy nice addition to the game.
TIME WILL TELL.
I think, they are adding both the skill and condition, regardless.
The point is that we don’t need ANOTHER condition.
you might not think that way if a different class gets a new condition and we dont.
The skill DS is getting is specific, the condition it applies is not. Kind of an important separation. The ability itself that applies the condition could have tons of different options.
Exactly the point.
We’ll have to use DS to apply said Condition, while Warriors or whatever class gets it will just have to finish a Auto Attack because it’ll be traited to fire automatically or some BS.
your point that someone will be able to trait for the use of this condition and have it trigger automatically isnt a bs.
as we wont have to trait to use it. at all. and will have our traits available for other options.
I guess we could have an aura that has a % chance on hit to cause X Y and Z effects and others would just get effects X and Y from activating a skill (or something along those lines)
didn’t think of it in that way bhawb, nice thing to point out there.
i like the idea of an aura, but it isnt going to be necro specific so it would have to fit other classes too.
I would say the only classes that would fit a dark aura would be thieves and maybe rangers and engies.
why dont we all stop trying to figure out how effective and worth while the new condition will be and focus that energy into helping A NET come up with something effective and worth while.
we dont know what it is yet, how can we already be complaining?Never underestimate the Necro community’s ability to complain.
I know man, some people are never happy.

death shroud is necro specific… its also our class mechanic but no one else has anything close.
and IronPlushy you beat me to it!

its not necro exclusive they said that in the ‘state of the game’ .
terror builds are great arnt they thor, though id say my power necro has FAR more burst than the terror set up.
like you say terror is great for 2v1’s and I do have more success on my terror necro in outnumbered situations.
you obviously haven’t played with a necro staff. its probably a third slower than your AA. I have a thief too and not sure its that terrible of a nerf. if my mains (necro) ranged AA doesn’t track then its only fair if all ranged AA’s dont track. or they could’ve made them all track which would have been awesome.
you dont need plague to survive but whilst lvling (past lvl 30) plague is a good elite to take. better than golem in my opinion.
if you were pvping where the boon strip would be enough of a bonus to take focus over dagger I would say go for it.
but all the focus will give you in pve is more kiting capabilities and LF regen. I would take dagger over focus for pve.
if u like focus try a power build?
if my phone hadny bugged out and deleted the huge post I wrote it would have been more informative. However theres a reason for tbe necromancer tutorial posts in our necro forum and im not going to repeat what someone else has already said.
my advice would be DS can be used in tricky situations to negate your incoming dmg long enough for your heal to come back of CD most of the time. if that doesn’t work for u take plague as an elite and spam blind when you get in trouble. the AoE blind is very effective.
lvling my 2nd necro I had to use plague form once to save my heini whilst fighting mobs much higher lvled than me and it worked wonderfully. u can go straight from plague form into DS too to buy yourself more time.
the only thing I find lacking with necro is our mobility.
the dps my power necro can dish out is more than enough and ive only gone 20 into spite. I could get an extra 20% dmg to targets under 50% hp if I could sacrifice something else in my build. which I cant.
if u dont think condition builds are viable at low levels you aren’t playing it right.
so that makes us a gimmick class? a necro burst spec would be less dps than say a thief, warrior or mesmer.
but on my burst necro id be comfortable fighting any of those classes. we have tools others dont, as they have tools we dont.
but I would rather play a dps necro than any of the mentioned classes.
even if the dps isn’t as high.
and I have each of those classes to 80 and others too.
