It’s true that Healing Power/Toughness/Condition is the best choice to such build (or something similar), but as you said, it’s so fking expensive in PVE (in PVP we have shaman gears). It’s not for everyone, at least now.
Cheaper way is just go for combination of Cleric/knight/solder/shaman.
In WvW, I would say the 1st thing you have to learn is how to deal with thieves since they are no-doubtly the biggest wvw population. If your build can not survive/counter thief, it’s not a good build for wvw. Right now I am running GS+S/horn (only change bow when needed e.g. VS guardians) in most of time coz I found GS is so good to have especially against thieves.
Jugar is good for 1v1, but this build is already hard to beaten in 1v1 situations no matter what pet u use. Jugar is still too easy to die during zerg fight.
As I said, the biggest threaten of this build is still BS thief, due to the culling issue BS thief can do about 12k damage to u before he appears, in 1v1 and if you are in full HP it’s ok, 1 healing spring will reset the fight. But good thief probably won’t pick u when you r rdy, so double canine can save u from their burst. (you can’t see them, but your pet can, also if you switch canine, the 1st thing they do is knock down as long as there is enemy near you and atk you, 2x canine already saved my kitten many times.)very nice build l use something similar in tpvp. l go 30 in wilderness and 30 in BM. Also why no jaguar?
I agree, but if you spot them coming at you, popping Troll Unguent at start of fight + setting Guard around you will keep your pet alert to anything that moves and both yourselves healing the big damage. Granted PD thieves are trickier to fight than BS thieves, but neither are impossible to kill. In terms of BS thieves, they are simply becoming easier to kill if you manage to get around their strategy quickly. PD thieves are a lot worse, I manage to take them down GS around after surviving their burst, plus pet kept on stunning and doing damage whenever it popped. I guess not all fights can be won, but there’s been a steady rise in victories for me in WvW against thieves, enough that I don’t fear them 1vs1, 1vs2 or even 1vs3 anymore (yes the 1vs3 are jaw dropping victories for me). Should be testament to the success of the Beastmaster build.
By the way I was wondering whether it would be more useful to combine the following:
- toughness+condition and decent healing power.
rather than:- toughness+healing power and x other status.
…for the build that is discussed here. I know there are a ton of ways to make this build amazing, but perhaps the community can contribute with good input here. IMO I think having condition helps more than not.
In my videos I run full apothecary gear, which is Healing Power/Toughness/Condition Damage, and its extremely nice.
However full Apothecary gear isn’t reasonable for most player… The Jewelry is incredibly expensive.
You however can do a combination set of Apothecary Armor/Weapons with Shamans Jewelry (which is Vitality/Condition Damage/Healing Power)
Not sure what you can use for jewels though, probably will need the Carrion ones, as Passiflora jewels are expensive.

If Yaks’ ppl kept thinking what they have done is legit then just kept doing it. It really doesn’t matter. I won’t say DB is the cleanest server but I can clearly remember 1 month ago when DB fighting DH in T5, 1 mesmer offer portal to SM inner (hold by DH for hours), all commanders shouted in channel telling ppl don’t take the portal coz we don’t believe that it’s legit. And guess what? No one from DB went to that free portal. For me, that’s the reason why I am still in DB (since day1). And I believe it is also part of the reason why more and more guilds think about xfer to DB. It’s all about server reputation. Yes someone always like to exploit, but the majority population is still enjoying play the legit game.
Keep in mind that for all this time, we knew a mesmer was inside inner SM. We knew that some of them are exploiting, one was in lord room wall trying to hide then Wp’d out once found, one was abusing hiding in the wall on the 2nd floor. You can see the npcs move around and yet no enemy visible. I am here, telling you with a straight face, we had 10-20 people patrolling SM inner. We were honestly waiting for the exploiting mesmer(s) to portal Yak’s in. This is all happening 2-4 hours after SM has been flipped over the past two days.
Do not mistake my post for acusing yak’s to be an exploiting server, I’m not saying that. Yesterday, Yak’s was portalled into SM inner so long after being flipped that the walls were upgraded, the doors and workers were upgraded and the WP was halfway done. Today, it took another 2 hours, and that entire time, everyone in EBG knew there was a mesmer in SM inner. We saw mesmers exploiting, we were constantly trying to fight a frankly needless fight against exploiters and then you think that we must have missed that mesmer? We looked in every legitimate spot and quite a few not legitimate. These mesmers that are offering portals hours after SM was flipped are exploiting. Stop taking their portals because I don’t believe you to be a server that encourages such behavior.
I am running 0/0/20/20/30 build, basically same idea with 0/0/30/10/30 but just little bit different emphasize. Last night I fight a ranger, I am pretty sure he is running something close coz the whole fight last over 1 minute. Finally I won, disregarding the operating skill problem(he is very skilled, not worse than I in my opinion), I think the main reason why I can win is I use GS+Sword/horn, he use axe/dagger+sword/horn.
Ranger only has 1 real DPS weapon — sword, so in my opinion no matter what build you are using, if you are not using sword, you can’t output good dps. How good sword DPS (plus your pet) is? — find a glass canon warrior friend as teammate , go get a camp or keep gate, each of you fight a same type NPC to see who gonna finish it 1st, you will find the answer. Then use other weapon to test again, you will find the difference.
Therefore, sword is a must-have weapon, then for the 2nd, I found GS is best combination (shortbow is 2nd choice when you VS some tough melee class such as guardian). I only use GS 3,4,5 (with trait which shorten the CD) and it’s so amazing no matter for defending or chasing.
I disagree with CRrabbit. In my opinion, a 0/0/30/10/30 build is currently one of our strongest, if not the strongest, builds. Focus on toughness, healing power, and power. You will have much, much more survivability than if you were to have a more damage orientated build, while your damage will almost be the same, assuming you will be able to micromanage your main sources of DPS, which will be your pets, properly.
Greatsword is definately a great secondary weapon, but not a main weapon. As a main weapon, anything ranged will serve you well. I’m personally a fan of axe/dagger, but axe/torch and axe/warhorn are also decent choices. I’m less a fan of the shortbow, and even less of the longbow, but feel free to try them out anyway.
I agree, now I am even worrying whether Anet might nerf Ranger in next patch.
Rangers are pretty fine at the moment. QQers will QQ.
For armor: Toughness > VIT> anything else. WvW is all about survive.
So best weapons(in my opinion) should be GS/sword+X, many ppl might say NO since it gonna be melee ranger but in my experience melee ranger is the way to go especially in wvw. For 1v1, the only class you need a bow is VS Guardians.
Build is important but not the most, there is no one for all build, the best build is the one which fits your play style the most.
In my recent experience there are only 2 tough classes VS melee ranger — D/D ele and P/D thief. For D/D ele, you both can’t kill each other. P/D thief is the solid counter against all kinds of rangers (very unfortunately our pet can provide them free perma stealth so there is 0 chance to win) , but if you want to escape there is no way they can kill you. Someone may say what about mesmer? Maybe I didn’t met any good mesmer in WvW recently, but every mesmer I have met = free kill (almost the easiest class to beat).

I totally agree OP. 100G for a commander icon is a bad idea. We do have some super star commanders everywhere but we do have pugs commanders even more. But well no one can be a good one at very beginning, here are some suggestions to commanders:
If you are leading a 50+ men zerg for 30+ mins but can’t even take a single keep (yes this is hard to believe, but it did happen last night), Please :
Stop sending your order in team channel insisting on asking everyone to follow you;
Stop complaining about rendering issue as excuse (since the opponent will have same problem);
Stop complaining about out-numbered or double-teamed;
Stop blaming other ppl for giving you suggestion instead of calling them stupid;
Turn off your commander icon temporarily and rethink about your strategy;
If you still think you are right, log out and take a break then try another day.

Have tried this for a pretty while, and it works as good as BS thief combo. And most importantly, it applies to any build. If you havn’t tried yet, give a try , you may have a surprise.
Combo is very simple: GS3 + GS5 , change to sword 1 and at same time switch any kind of canine pet.
GS3 = steal (and even 200 range longer)
GS5 = close to CnD (stun 2 sec instead of stealth)
Sword 1 = heart seeker, it basicly perma cripple your target since its fast atk pace, also give ur pet might stacks, the more you hit the harder it hits. (kinda same as HS)
Canine pet will always do knockdown after swip.
After 2sec QZ of swip pet, then feel free to QZ if it’s in your skill bar, with 6 sec QZ you will melt down anything without invincibility skills.
This combo works great for me.
Yesterday when I played W3. I found a lonely ranger who is not 80 on my way to keep. I chased him, but so surprisingly, I was killed by him, a fully equipped bunky build lv80 was killed by a lv80- ranger , and it’s within 15 sec (coz my skill CD is 16 sec, I was downed just right before I can use it again).
I was soooooo frustrated after this happened coz I never have problem during 1v1 (sometime I can’t win but I always can run away and there is no way someone can take me down in just 15 sec) .
After checking battle log, I finally found the truth —- the ranger only did ~100 (200 at most) damage to me every shot with his shortbow, but in the log, I found 2x back stab + 6x heartseeker + countless double strike which is the main reason to take me down in 15 sec. But for total 20+ sec (from the very beginning till I was finished and ranger ran away), I never see anyone else except the ranger and his pet.
Same thing happened to me, to others, now and then, here and there, for now and maybe forever…….
Ranger should have no problem VS glass canon B/S thief, but VS other type especially P/D thief, the chance is basicly 0. But for them, the chance to take you down is also 0 as long as you escape on time.
I used to think I already know a lot about ranger, but in fact I didn’t.
Today I met a ranger who can immobilize me for 10 sec! (and he did three times, so it’s pretty sure ) He is a Norn ranger so defintely not the race skill, he is using cat so it’s not the spider root (it’s only 3+2=5 sec). It’s definitely not entangle coz I am so familiar that skill, I am pretty sure it’s not.
So maybe there is anything (like items) which can immobilize ppl for 10 sec?
Anyone know the trick???
In my experience most ppl in wvw are just playing as a pver. A well organized 5-men team can have most boons covered for at least 50% of time, they east 10 men unorganized zerg as a piece of cake and won 90% time against even 15-20 ppl with a just little strategy.
As a ranger, no matter how good your build/gears is and how well you played, your damage is still a joke (compared with some other classes). However, if you go fully support+healing, you can make your team harder than rocks, and also you get not bad 1v1 ability in case some kitten happens. I think that might be the real definition Anet want to give to ranger. You might not be a shining killing star (in fact no matter how hard you play you will never be), but you are irreplaceable in a good team.
As I mentioned, the real damage come from the sword (it is our highest DPS weapon no matter what build), I use bow only as a control weapon. Basically in huge fight this build plays more like a support/healing role, and during small fight, you gonna pick up your sword to give enemy a real hard time. In my recent experience, ppl “like” to fight you instead of running away since ranger was underdog for so long time, but once they realize you are unkillable and decide to run, they have lost best time to escape, this happened to me everyday.

VHC is PVE version shaman gears. In my opinion it’s worse than THC (PVP version of shaman) . You will get ~same % of EHP increase, but for healing power effectness, T>V.
I’m personally thinking about getting Reyna’s Armor (I think that’s it) which is Vit/Healing Power/Condition damage to replace my Apothecary armor (would sitll use weapons/jewelry)
That would give me a fairly large HP increase i think.
Good point, but it’s impossible to make a one-for-all build.
I use Fortifying Bond coz no matter where my pet is, my swiftness, fury, ROA, protection will also go to my pet, and also when u stand in the middle of group, your teammates will give you a lot of buffs(e.g. might), and your pet (most likely in the front) can also get them. This is to max their damage output.
For condition remove, yes, it’s a weak point, so at the begining, I use bear. But the more I play the more I realized that I don’t need that many. Healing spring is enough in most cases.
It’s true that my damage is not so impressive, especially burst damage. I use short bow for 4 purpose: 1, SB 3 to retreat; 2, SB4+5 for cc; 3, spam SB1 under healing spring for the regen stack(SB is the best weapon for this due to its atk speed), 4, SB1 spam to activate sigil for group healing. I don’t use SB for dps. As you said, yes, my only dps comes from sword, and I do use it when I roaming 1v1 or 1v2,3 situation. However, in zerg fight, doing damage is not the only key to win. I just send my pet out and buff my self, then spam SB, and put down healing spring once it’s rdy, teammates around me will get huge amount healing. Keeping you teammates alive is also important to win.
About runes, my idea of modification is not change to water, but go for centuar, then I will give all teammates 24/7 swiftness buff since in wvw mobility>all in my opinion.
Hi, nice build but I see few problems your going to run into over time. So don’t take anything I say in the wrong way, just letting you know what I’ve spotted.
#First off, I think Fortifying Bond is a awesome skill but its only effective if you offer boons that help your pet, atm all the boons you offer your pet don’t require having Fortifying Bond to effect your pet, only trait that does is Nature’s Protection. So it might be worth thinking of ways to add them extra boons to improve your pet and making Fortifying Bond a worth while Trait, E.g. your using Sigil of Superior Water, might be worth changing this to Sigil of Superior Battle. 3 might stacks for 20 seconds.
#You have no real condition removal, your pet alone won’t be able to keep up and Healing Spring is ok but the worst thing you can do as a ranger is sit still. So It might be worth rethinking a more effective way to improve on how you can effectively remove conditions.
#Your build is very limited on how much damage it can really throw out, sure your pets have fair amount of damage, but vs zergs pets are useless at the moment AoE murders them. You have no condition damage to make your shortbow effective. Your only real damage is Sword/Horn+QZ but its to limited to how often you can deal the pain. I don’t want to sound harsh but your build has no real effective/chance to beat a decent Mesmer or Thief. Pet’s have a real hard time fighting anything that stealth’s your sword/horn won’t be effective, and you don’t want to go into melee vs a good Mesmer you will kill yourself.
I’m not sure if this help’s you at all, it’s just from what I can see.

Cleric status means power/toughness/+healing (rings, earings, amulet), those exotic are cheapest in AH at least several days ago.
Crabbit, What do you mean by Cleric jewels + Zho’s? I couldn’t find any cleric jewels on the auction house.
Cleric jews + Zho’s set, both are the cheapest exotic sets. ~20g you should get all done. Weapon I would suggest go for PTV (e.g AC weapon) instead of cleric weapon since I found that I have more healing power than I need. It will end up ~2900 armor, 20k HP, ~2700 atk, ~1600 healing power with 500+HP regen per sec for you and 1000+HP regen for your pet, both of you are as tough as bunker guardian. I can deal with 90% 1v2 situation (except for 2x BS thieves) and 50% 1v3 situation. For zerg fight, you won’t die since you stand far behind in most of time. Even if you go deep front, SB3+Lightning reflex+switch to sword2 = you are 1800+ range away.

Believe or not, Ranger is now the best counter against D/D ele since last patch.
My ranger has met countless D/D ele in wvw these few days and none of them can escape from my pet.
No doubt they can survive, they can run like crazy. I guess they must be good killing other classes but guardians.
In fact DB already becomes the goal keeper of this tier. If any server wanna climb upper, you have to deal with the non-NA time coverage of DB. In other words, only NA prime domination can not make u go to upper tier since all T4 servers has somewhat non NA coverage not worse than DB but with much better NA coverage.
I guess BP, DB and DH will stay in this tier for a pretty while until 1 server of these 3 totally give up.

It’s very similar with the 1st round DH vs DB vs NS, at last DH won by a very little bargain. Now DH becomes NS and BP becomes a enchanted version of DH, DB still remains the same.
Well, I would rather to hear Anet buff pets damage for more since I already fell in love with the BM build. Anyway ranger himself will have the lowest damage output among all classes (due to pet), but ranger has the same survivalbility as other classes, so why not just focus on that and leave the job of damaging to our pets.
Since I redefined the ranger play style as a summoner+healer profession, I am not disappointed anymore.
Rangers are in a much better place than they were, arrows moving faster helps but doesnt change the glaring problems with shortbow and longbow, and I really wish they would lower the pets damage and add that to the ranger.
Yes, med healing is reliable from day1, we all know that. But the trade-off is the mobility.
With med healing build u get almost 0 speed buff unless u use staff, which make it very situational. (maybe good for point defend or you have teammate with u who can provide speed buff most of time)

I don’t know whether it’s a part of change of this patch, but I found my pet runs pretty fast. Every time I set a target to atk and both me + my pet run towards to the target, my pet runs like twice faster than me and always reach the target 1st. Another example is when I chased a D/D ele, he rode the lightning and ran away, I buff swiftness and my pet just charged towards him and caught him in like 1-2 sec, then my pet just kept soloing him till he die (he kept running but just can’t over run my pet).
It looks like pet’s default speed is much faster than players, if so, how much?
SB get a little bit improvement, but still not as good as old days before nerf.
I would say right now it’s the time of BM build rising up.
It’s hard to run condition+BM in wvw , shaman gears in wvw is V+H+C, you can get T+H+C gears but they are very expensive. So you can go healing+BM for wvw. Since you have enough exp in tPVP, then you should know you are unkillable when 1v1, in most case you can deal with 1v2 or even 1v3 easily, which means you should be a perfect roamer in wvw.
I run a tanky condi/BM build in tpvp and i love it. it’s highly effective. however, when i look at wvw, i just dont see the ranger doing all that well. my GS/hammer meditation guardian is a beast and can literally jump into a crowd of 20, down 5 people and jump out. i dont see myself doing that on the ranger, who is a great duelist.
what is the ranger’s role in wvw and what are some effective builds? i can only see the ranger exceling in three areas: small gang skirmishes, chasing down runners, and keep defense. the latter i dont care for. are power builds effective? i see them as being really gimmicky.
2500 armor is kinda squishy. You know the best modification in spvp is to use shaman gears instead of cleric since shaman’s pvp version is Toughness + Healing+condition instead of Vit+healing+con in pve/wvw version. You sacrifice a little bit healing power but become tougher (~3100 armor, 3100 vs 2500 that’s 20%+ difference, plus your healing power, that makes huge difference), also you will get decent condition damage. Ranger himself’s direct damage is a joke especially in this build (you have very low crit chance+damage), so if you want to go more offensive, go for shaman in sPVP.
Try my wvw build and make some modifications based on your play style=good to go. You will be as tough as bunker guardian and D/D ele. I tried that build in spvp 1st before I went shopping gears and went to wvw, no one can kill me 1v1 in spvp.

Spider is only good for control, its damage is crappy also kind squishy. Yes you can root/cripple , but then what? I would rather to use drakehound, it can give you almost same result but it can give some real damage afterwards.

For the 25×10 healing on the weapon runes. I’m not sure If I like the idea. Hm would have to test it. Can you usually keep it running even in dungeons? When do these stacks disappear? When you are downed or only if you die? I guess weapon switch won’t make it disappear right?
When I move from one fractal to the other the buffs probably also disappear right?
10 sec might is good, but 5 sec fury is …….. (5 sec every 30 sec since healing spring is necessary).
Flock give blindness every 10 sec besides the 1500 extra group healing…..

Altruism is another good choice especially for my build. Do you know the duration of might +fury from the rune? Can’t find info from wiki.
I have 6/6 Altruism so I had to test it quick. I have no other +boon duration beyond the +15% from the Runes of Altruism.
Fury says 5 seconds remaining as soon as I’m able to read the tooltip.
3 stacks of might seems to be ~11 seconds.Edit: If I had to guess I’d say it’s 5 seconds fury as a base and 10 seconds on might. Then add on the 15% boon duration. Of course it’s the usual 5 allies around you get the boons.
Regen food vs healing food should not be big different, I didn’t check regen food price, but peach cookie is dirty cheap (2c/each), which is another reason I use it, hehe.

That’s what I did when defending keeps. I change utility + weapon (longbow) and send my cat to ninja ppl.
But in general, as I said, I use fern hound as main pet. It’s very tough with my build, it has no problem to survive in most situation, so the bond works great in my experience.
Can’t do that coz fortifying bond is necessary.

The healing power is FTW, my ranger kept repairing the gate (with ROA and sometime healing spring) by ignoring all meteor showers casted from outside, my HP never drop less than 75%. My pet seldom died, I just stand 3000 range away buff myself(so the pet will get it too) and watch my pet finish target 1 by 1. It’s little bit boring but I have to say my ranger has better survivalbility than my bunker guardian in wvw…Drop 10 Points in Nature’s put it in Wilderness, Get Empathetic Bond….It’s a remove all condition passive every 10 seconds, it’s simply better then pretty much everything else we get.
Bond is pretty awful, if you swap pets at all..
If you wanna be a real prick, Guard + QZ while in a keep is just great fun.
Find a target you want to kill, Use say..the Jaguar for extra stealth, Send him out of the keep with Guard (it also works sending them in the keep) when next to target pop QZ + Stealth, watch him crap on someone.

You might want to consider Superior Runes of Altruism. I don’t know how much healing is done by runes of the flock and whether it’s worth it or not but Altruism will get you 3 stacks of might and fury when you use a healing skill and +15% boon duration along with your +healing power.
Food + healing stacks. (a small trick here: if you use sigil of life on both ur 1-h weapons you get 2x stacks each kill, which will give you 25 stacks twice faster)
But you know, now I am feeling that 1800 healing power is little bit too much for myself (it’s fantastic for group, but for ranger self, it’s more than u need), so I am thinking to get some more HP pool to balance it. I think maybe an end-up of 22k HP + 1500 healing power will be a good balance (right now I have 19k HP+1800 healing)
I have almost the same build for PvE – 20/20/30 using greatsword and whatever fits as 2nd set (shortbow/longbow/sword+horn/axe+horn) and with full cleric set + rune of water on all armor pieces + cleric weapon + cleric accessoirces (except back) I reach around 1420 healing. How do you reach 1800 healing?
It’s pretty tanky in dungeons and the pet does nice damage which helps alot since my damage in full heal gear is not the best^^

Just now 1v2 killed 1 guardian + 1 D/D ele, I can’t believe it either. (actually they have plenty of time to get away but they just insisted on fighting me, maybe they thought no way ranger can win them , even 1 v 1.)
Key is the 1800 healing power, fern hound rocks, it almost never drop HP. Ele wanna flee at last, he ran fast, but guess what, my pet ran faster and caught him+knocked him down, hehe.
The weak point of this build is still VS BS thief. Almost get killed by 1 while all my skills in CD coz no way to anticipate when/where they will come. I am thinking to use wolf instead of bear, maybe better against BS thief.

The healing power is FTW, my ranger kept repairing the gate (with ROA and sometime healing spring) by ignoring all meteor showers casted from outside, my HP never drop less than 75%. My pet seldom died, I just stand 3000 range away buff myself(so the pet will get it too) and watch my pet finish target 1 by 1. It’s little bit boring but I have to say my ranger has better survivalbility than my bunker guardian in wvw…Link is bad, try again? I assume you were inside with pet outside? Otherwise no way to get 3000 range.
Can’t do that coz fortifying bond is necessary.

the choices should be between asura(minimum char size) and norn(best escape skill). Human is not a good choice at all.
there is no reliable counter against P/D thief especially in wvw. Not only ranger but alsoall other classes. A good P/D thief is impossible to be killed 1v1 theoretically. Generally speaking GC thief or warrior has better chance against them. Have to say ranger is one of the worst class against them. but it doesn’t mean u have to die, just run away coz it will take pretty while for them to get u down, usually it’s long enough to run to help.
Also I noticed that wolf/dog always use knock down 1st once it’s rdy (e.g. every respawn).
In hotjoin, with survival + pet master build, ranger have a good stand especially 1v1 now(I can feel pet’s help significantly).
In wvw, ranger can be a good roaming class now.
Right now, sick em+QZ +your melee pet = huge burst. It’s too good to get rid of any of it, so leave the rest 1 slot hard to decide. (if use signet for speed then no stun breaker, if stun breaker, then no speed which means horn is still necessary)
I had same question before, then I tried all. At last I settled down with a mix knight+zerk.
In my opinion:
Mix > knight > zerk.
You can go full zerk in PVE since it’s the easiest part, but if you want to go further to dungeon especially WvW, Knight will definitely bring you more benefit than zerk.
does 500 more toughness gear give more advantage then 40% more crit dmg? does that mean at least 20% less dmg received?
with autoattack i get 1200-1400 crit dmg with gs and hammer(with 111% crit dmg, 42% crit) and i think thats kinda low or bugged. and with mace i get 1900 crit dmg. how can that be, 2h doing less dmg then 1h? so i am thinking to switch for knight gear better with more defense.edit: i’ve seen some guardians doing 12k dmg with ww, and 7k with MB and i cant do that kind of dmg, max ww was 3.5k, and mb 3.8k, and seen some 5k crits on lowbies in wvw and thats it.

Based on the previous experience, the coming 1-2 round is more like a DH VS BP fight due to the event. As the unofficial PVE server, most players from DB will more likely focus on event for the next 2 weeks. So good luck to DH and BP, see you guys in 3 weeks.
Well, I found that Norn’s (maybe other races too but I didn’t test) transform skills (elite skills such as wolf, bear, leopard etc) has a bug.
According to wiki, using these elite skills removes accumulated stacking buffs like Bloodlust from the player. Yes it does while transform, and after transform end, you can re-accumulate stacking buffs again.
HOWEVER, if you die during transform, after rez, you will become back to normal, but you CAN NOT re-accumulate stacking buffs anymore unless you relog.

How you get the 1st 3x might from purging flames + focus 5 ?
How you get 7x might from hammer 2 + f1 + save yourselves ?
use purging flames + focus 5 for 3 stack of might + 3 potential of might from blocking, then use hammer 2 + f1 + save yourselves for extra 7 stack of might

I think this sounds pretty reasonable.
for 1, perma stealth is too much, I would say 10 sec stealth is enough, 10 sec is absolutely enough for you to decide what to do next (start fight or escape).
for 2, 50% damage boost is reasonable, make thief assassin-like, coz if the primary atk failed, thief can hardly last 10 sec w/o stealth. (this can also solve thief 1vn problem – yes you have the power to get 1 down, but u will be killed by other next in return, which is much more balanced. )
This will make thief’s play style more tactical .
I’ll take the 10 second CD on stealth but I’ll need something in return.
1. When a thief stealths….its Perma until you attack
2. All alpha stealth strikes receive damage boost of 50%I’ll take it.

Of coz condition can be increased, but any damage oriented will be focused on certain trait only, to get high condition, you need to sacrifice mobility/escape skills.
P/D thief is replacing GC BS thief more and more in wvw, yes they kill slower , but they will get the job done in a even safer way. There is basically no counter against P/D thief in wvw now. For bunker class, u can just ignore and run away, but for some squishy classes, they have nothing to do but die.
1) Okay, but increase our conditions by 100% to compensate. We Condition Thieves would love to bleed you folks out faster.
2) I wouldn’t mind this. Make us faster, give us more might, increase stealth time, let us heal faster, caltrops on dodge == real caltrops and not one-hit wonders, poisons do more damage…
Have you ever fought a condition thief before? They eat glass cannons for breakfast.

I say — they can go invisible when u atk them, but not with deadly power at the same time.
So nerf the base skill damage but increase trait bonus to balance it(so thief can’t get both deadly power and escape ability at same time). That’s the point.
Should fix it so they cant go just invisible if you are attacking them
