Am I alone in saying the lack of client updates is semi worrying.

The Mac client is a Cider wrapper, it’s not quite the same as Wine. There are a lot of bugs in general that are being addressed with the game in general so the fact that there are not Mac specific this soon after making it available doesn’t surprise me.
Just because some random put it on the wiki as a condition doesn’t mean it is. Secondly “Save Yourselves!” isn’t removing it from allies. and “Contemplation of Purity” does not remove it and change it into a boon.
Less rude man. I said no flame, just explain. Ask nicely and you shall receive :D
Sorry, it wasn’t my intention to come off that way and I can see where you got that.
I’m not familiar with “Save Yourselves!” so I’m not sure how many conditions it’s suppose to move to you. There may be a bug with the ability itself that causes it to not pull the condition off an allie. I do know that, in my experience, the main ways to have confusion get onto a target it through our channeled attack or from our mage phantasm. One problem could be that confusion is being pulled off but immediately reapplied in the middle of a channel or that pet conditions aren’t treated the same way player conditions are. All just speculation though.
I can only verify that it appears to be flagged as a condition in game as well. It appears in the correct area with the correct border for a condition, but something in the backend of the engine could have something switched here.
Also, isn’t the wiki maintained and verified by ANet? Sure anyone can contribute but I thought ANet also reviewed the content that was up there. I’ve seen a lot of posts get reverted because some random put up bad information before.
I’ve been able to remove confusion in the past with Mantra of Resolve (which removes two conditions). The wiki also defines Confusion as a Condition.
If you’re having problems removing it then there’s a bug somewhere and it might be with whatever you’re trying to use to remove it (examples?). If you’re speculating that it cannot be removed then you need to do some checks before suggesting a change to a profession.
I don’t have an international keyboard, but is this key the equivalent of the FN key or some other modifier key (like control, option, and command)? Sounds strange that you can’t map to it.
I’ve noticed some pretty dramatic performance increased in my daily play since 10.8.2 on my 2009 iMac. At least 10 fps more than previous.

I’ve ended up setting up a secondary binding for the F1-4 keys to Control+1-4. It took a while to get used to but I can play using either now (for when I reboot into windows).
I use shatters all the time. In coordination with Mirror Image I don’t have to worry about not having illusions out to shatter and distract.
Please do not change the charges of my mantras. It’s so useful to have 2 charges (and 3 if you spec for it). If you think they need to act like our normal heal then you aren’t utilizing it properly. It took me a while to figure out how to use it well and after I did (and after I stopped being afraid to take a time out of combat in long fights to recharge my mantra) it became significantly more powerful.
Mantra of Recovery was my favourite heal throughout Beta, I only stopped using it when they nerfed its healing from 3260 per charge to 2620 per charge for no reason. I know how to use MoR and how to channel it in combat (stealth skills, CC and just LoSing helps a lot), the reason I don’t use it anymore is simple: it’s no longer worth using without traits. Its HPS isn’t much better than Ether Feast now and doesn’t justify its 4s self-Daze.
Yea, I see what you mean. My spec right now specs for the third charge so it’s more useful for me. However, even with the reduction I don’t think it validates the changes proposed.
I’ve never found them useless. They’re really useful for additional damage and conditions from shatters. I can normally get mobs to focus on my illusions as well which helps my survivability.
My main character when I played Dark Age of Camelot was a Sylvan and I loved it.
I think what he meant by “tooltips are horrible” is that they are either out of date or contain the wrong information. It’s not about spelling or grammar, it’s about accuracy of the description.
Also, if you look at the tooltip for the mantra buffs (in the boons/conditions area), I’ve only ever seen them say “(new string)”.

I generally keep a focus around to use skill 4 and also use Blink. Doesn’t seem to be that bad for travelling.
The problem is they have to boost it in such a way where they aren’t even more strong in 1v1 situations (I’m sure many of you agree mesmers are VERY good at 1v1 pvp) while have the buffs be enough to satisfy the idea you’re proposing (as well as other aspects of the game such as PvE)
We can be strong in PvE. There are many different types of strength and power than the numbers we see above an enemy’s head. For example, when I PvE, unless I’m really going crazy pulling 5+ mobs, I rarely take any damage because I effectively use my clones to aggro drop. Clones are basically a free aegis. It’s amazing. That’s a special kind of power that no other class can boast of. No other class can go for hours without taking a single point of damage.
This. We don’t have a lot of burst damage but we have a ton of tricks that let us dwindle down our target and not take much damage.
Dodging only interrupts when you’re charging the mantra. After it’s charged you can use the actual ability of the mantra instantly while doing anything else.
Yes, we’re a pet class. However just because it doesn’t fit your definition of a “pet class” doesn’t mean it’s broken or needs to be changed. The best comparison I can think of is Theurgist pets from Dark Age of Camelot. You summon an uncontrollable pet that attacks one person and dies.
Anet isn’t going to change the fundamental structure of the class because you don’t agree with it. It’s not a traditional pet class and shouldn’t be thought of as such.
I’m kind of waiting on this too. WvW status accessible via API would be great.
The problem is with the code on “canceling” a channelled spell. When you interrupt a spell it gets a shorter cooldown. That shouldn’t be applying to this skill.
I use the heal/condition removal in PvE, spec for 3x mantras…
I use this setup for PvE and PvP (WvW and sPvP) and it’s great. Being able to pop these any time is great. And once you spec for 3 mantra charges, the heal is actually higher I think (1 charge is about half what the normal heal ability does I think).
My only wish is that I could recharge my matras without having to expend all the charges first.
I noticed this last night also and reported it in game.
