Well I hope next time there is a truce in the jumping puzzle or a fight club in Ogres that BT and PD will come “play the game” then too. I’m so disgusted at FA right now. Specifically BT. They didn’t know about the event until I told them an hour before. They still went in and ruined it for everyone. In fact, see you guys in a few days. I guess its time to run some dungeons, or god help me, some fractals.
We also had a WvW event planned in CD before hand. It was an inevitable clash. We appologize for all the problems, next time maybe TCBL might be a good place for a TC RP party since it’s not as busy at night.
I’m not sure why we decided to say bad things about FA players who aren’t in a large or well known WvW guilds. Sometimes some unwise things are done but that could be because people aren’t communicated to effectively or nobody is actually willing to help answer WvW questions. Not everyone has hours and hours to play every night so some people may not know exactly what to do at specific times in WvW, it doesn’t make them bad players.
Players from FA, thanks you for coming out and helping in WvW. Don’t be scared to make mistakes because that’s how you’ll learn. If anyone on FA has any questions about WvW I will be more than happy to try and answer questions to my best knowledge. Just send me a tell. If you need a group to run with one night I’d be happy to have you along and I’ll try and explain why we’re doing some of the stuff we’re doing. You guys are very important to the server and I know there are loads of WvW guilds out there willing to help.
We at FA all brag about our community and how good we think it is and I think now is the time to actually prove it. I’m sure FA as a whole will do all they can to help those who got screwed with this whole moving thing.
It’s also going to be a he said she said drama fest until any real details are explained. Maybe we should try and hold off on the gossip until we know the facts so we don’t drag people through the mud.
Some people on FA liked GODS and some people didn’t. Many people had some bad experiences with their guild and I’m sure many people had some very positive experiences with their guild. GODS has been on FA since day 1 and even though some people may not have approved of their methods sometimes, they were a part of the FA family. No matter how you spin it they were around for the good and the bad (when we moved down to tier 5) and it is sad to see them go. They fought hard for our server and it’s too bad that they’re moving.
I do find it rather odd that they decided to move to a server dominating our matchup and who will most likely be winning this tier for a few more weeks to make a “fresh start”. Personally if I was moving my guild to get away from the drama I would have picked a server/matchup where the guild drama wouldn’t snowball or somewhere where I wouldn’t have a giant target painted on my back. Hopefully this doesn’t happen because I’d rather not see GODS drama taking over the forums.
I don’t know much about to situation so I’m sure they had a valid reason for picking TC. Good luck on TC, wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you guys on the battlefield. Sad to see you go.
@ the massive 50 person TC zerg that waited for 15 mins to get enough people to push titanpaw in TC borderlands against 10 defenders, why? Is there any way to fight anything other than a zerg somewhere?
Are there any smaller guilds out there who roam together who want to fight even numbers? If so, what map are you guys in at night, we’d love to fight in a map which doesn’t just have large clumps of defenders or attackers.
There are no rewards for coming in 1st. No rewards for 2nd or 3rd. Why are people getting so upset about this? The way WvW is set up, the server coming in last gets rewarded the most since they have had the opportunity to figure out why they lost and where they need to improve.
Population issues and conspiracy theories aside, this matchup has been the closest and most fun in a long time. Great fights, a close enough matchup to the point where people are getting upset on the forums, and an opportunity to learn from enemy successes and failures. I’ve had a great week and a half with YB and TC, thank you for being great opponents.
This week has made it obvious, we simply do not have the population necessary to compete at this tier.
Are you kidding? Yak’s has the least population out of all 3 servers and the smallest off-peak population as well. As a matter of fact, Yak’s is playing with ~400 PvP’ers less than last week. But we never give up.
Where do you find numbers like that? I’d love to have more statistics about WvWvW, but I haven’t seen anything anywhere.

Speaking on behalf of the Yak’s Bend Alliance. Let’s do this, and show them what it’s really like.
From what I’ve read about the Yak’s Bend Alliance I used to hold you guys in very high regard. If you’re speaking on their behalf and this is how they generally act then I’m sorry to say but my impression of your alliance has been greatly diminished. That or maybe they should re-evaluate your contribution to their alliance.
I’d also like to point out there a lot of forum warriors in this thread who still aren’t signing their name to their posts. If you don’t have the balls to post your character’s name and guild then don’t post at all.
As was previously stated, we are generally not lacking in sheer number of WvW players in NA primetime on FA, but in hardcore no-matter-what players. We have a few fun, non-zerg, hardcore WvW guilds looking for similarly minded players who fight hard every day no matter the score.
Threads like this only serve to make us look bad as a server and negatively affect our community. Even if it’s 1 or 2 people only it still comes off as a big negative for FA and you’re going to drive away skilled players. Lots of us are in the same boat, just deal with the hand you’re dealt and let’s stop complaining. Please.
It’s the second week we’ve had the same matchup so I think rivalries are starting to form. The matchups are short enough and have been varied enough in the past that this really hasn’t happened before and you start to figure out how servers operate and their strategies. Are people still surprised that 2 servers will gang up on another server? This is tier 3, it will happen and all you can do is learn from it so you can counter it next time. That’s how you take fully upgraded keeps/towers, you attack the server in the weakest position in the zone. You use your enemy as a distraction and play off them. This is basic stuff for 3 faction PvP.
@ FA players who were in FA borderlands tonight. You have all just experienced something that will make you better next time. Being attacked by 2 factions at the same time and holding them off for as long as we did should be a point of pride and not something to constantly complain about. It makes us sound childish.
Even if it’s happening (which I doubt it), posting about it isn’t going to help, it’s just going to put a bigger target on our backs and give us a bad reputation. If we are getting doubled teamed then it’s a great opportunity to get better. It’s a 3 faction PvP game, it may happen once and a while, especially in the higher tiers.
While you were taking the bay in TC borderlands with your zerg and 8 trebs, your own borderlands seems to be a bit…. non blue. Fun times. Hope it was worth it.

I’m sure all the people that were at the keep siege had fun. I’m sorry the people that hit the keep cant cover every map at the same time. Should we turtle in our zone all night? If this thread is just going to turn into gloating then I’ll be happy to start hitting prtscn at night to justify our losses as well.
I did not mean to cause any ill will or drama in the FA WvW community. I’m sure nobody from TC or YB finds this interesting either. I was simply stating that bigger groups can’t be as effective as smaller groups. I’m not in a big guild so I can’t begin to imagine how much harder is it to get coordination going compared to smaller guilds. Leading is hard and basically we all need to work together to get it accomplished. Start another forum topic and we can discuss this if people want but I don’t think this is the place to do it.
I swear the intellegence of most of FA is going down right now.
I’ve been noticing this trend as well at NA primetime on FA. In my opinion I think this is mainly because a few of the quality WvW guilds on FA have been MIA in the past few weeks and FA is starting to have the tendency to zerg things. Smaller organized groups working together will always be more effective than a massive zerg with 1 guy trying to coordinate it.
The mindless take this and move on tactic doesn’t work in higher tiers due to the fact that you have to actually defend stuff. If you’re doing things in a 50 man zerg that can be accomplished by 20 people, you are effectively stealing a 30 players from doing other things in the zone, and coupled with the fact that there is a player cap you are effectively making the server worse.
If you are a WvW player on FA without a guild please ask around and find a coordinated WvW guild that you’ll fit in well with, we have a bunch of great ones. In my opinion, a bunch of coordinated medium sized WvW guilds cooperating together is more healthy for the server than 1 massive zerg guild and a few smaller WvW guild constantly trying to jump zones every night to avoid said zerg.
@ PiNK, I would love to fight you guys when not in mega zerg formation, doubt it will ever happen though. You do seem to appear at the right time though, I’ll give you that.

Great job YB and especially TC. You guys really stepped it up and were basically everywhere before we were. To everyone on FA, hopefully I’ll see some people show up throughout the week. because my back is starting to get sore from carrying while we all take PvE breaks.
We are merely T3, FA is a bandwagon server as someone else has mentioned, so they may the next BG (shooting up to T1). We will get there soon.
It’s still a close match, why would TC be discouraged at all? I also liked how you managed to insult your enemy while trying to rally your server, classy.
A minor criticism I do have of my fellow FA guys is that we tend to be terrible defenders.
I think that really depends on the commanders in the map at that moment. I’ve seen massive guild groups run past small enemy forces attacking a tower en route to something else with no interest in stopping to defend. In a lot of people’s minds the rewards for capturing by zerg and simply moving on>splitting your force and defending and holding. It’s a shame since defending is usually really fun.
I just want to say my perception of Fort Aspenwood is that they are the worst spawn camping server I have personally played against. And GODS guild is a huge culprit. I don’t typically post on forums but I felt a huge urge this round. This is not something I would want my guild to be known for personally. Just saying. =P
GODS is the biggest guild on FA numbers wise so unfortunately things they decide to do will get noticed by other servers. I’m sure most of the serious WvW guilds on FA don’t condone spawn camping as a fair tactic and I’m sorry you have this perception of our server. I wasn’t there so I have no idea how the situation played out but the SS shows GODS camping the north supply camp and not the spawn though.
The matchup so far has been a lot of fun. Especially tonight at AB in Yaks BL. We had so much siege set up at the NE outer gate and we were having a blast holding the severely damaged wall and gate for over an hour against a big YB group.
We have deemed the formation The Lucky Talon. We would have had more but the game wouldn’t allow any more to be laid down. The inner keep looked the same, it’s a shame we had to log before we could use the stuff on the inner. This has been one of the much better matches, thank you YB and especially FA for not giving up.
And people from FA that “claim” you have outmanned buff might want to go find out how it is suppose to work. So unles ET server is hiding a big zerg well there is no way you should have outmanned buff in a BG.

Eredon Terrace, Yaks Bend and Fort Aspenwood have been locked in combat all week and an eventful week it has been.
Unfortunately ET have been almost absent due to previous server transfers decimating their ranks which essentially made it a two horse race. This alone negatively impacts the match up and is a direct cause of server transfers.
Back to the match. YB took a huge110k+ point lead. That said the early fights were hard enjoyable affairs.
However behind the scenes FA have been brilliant in attracting server transfers. Whether these guilds will stick with FA or move again I know not, but they have managed to double and in certain time zones treble their combatants, completely flipping the match and locking out ET and YB from a single map asset.
Personally I think this will cause FA issues at peak concurrency such as when the new match up kicks in resulting in yet more transfers.
With the broken Orb mechanic removed WvW has become even more of a bland zerg fest and therefore server transfers are causing huge disparities and wrecking Server ratings.
Please please ANEt show some love to WvW.
Put a week imbargo on WvW for players transferring in and reinstate Orbs even if it just gives a points bonus. We need a reason not to just zerg.

As of Wednesday night, I’ve only heard of and seen 2 new guilds on FA. LLAC and a smaller Japanese guild. FA has been working on getting off peak players for months now since it is known that FA had almost no coverage other than NA primetime. The YB v ET v FA thread is drowning in tears due to this comeback, and it’s starting to get a little old. Being out in WvW on average 6-8 hours a day since the start of the matchup, I’ve noticed a massive difference in the number of YB players which is probably a bigger problem for Yaks.
On the weekend it was almost impossible to find an area not swarming with Yaks, now it’s hard to find any yaks at all. I would argue that the change is score is mainly due to FA showing up and Yaks not. A few transfers playing during the day have given a morale boost to most of FA’s fairweather players, but it’s not the transfer themselves winning this match for FA (we appreciate you coming over though).
We’ve played with ULTD quite a bit this week and it has been a lot of fun. They really know what they’re doing and they’re very organized. BT looks forward to playing with you guys in the future.
I’m sorry for your negative PvP experience. If you have concerns about FA’s community or wish to hinder transfers to FA for whatever reason I suggest you post your experiences on the FA recruitment thread on these forums. Calling out individuals doesn’t really add to the discussion in this thread and sign your name is you’re going to call people, we can then take it seriously.
FA is only server that has sent me mass whispers over me killing them. Obviously not all of you but never had a whisper from anyone on another server till Friday. And as of now I have blocked 20 of you FAers because of repeated whispers over and over. And this forum post kinda mirrors what whispers represent. If I was most of you or EU server looking to transfer I’d pick another server. Playing along side people like that giving the impression that FA are immature whiners is not good.
Harsh. I’ve been on FA since launch and I’ve been very happy with our community so far. From what I’ve experienced on FA we have a lot of helpful and nice people willing to help with anything. The community I’ve experienced has been more mature and understanding than in any other mmo I’ve played (I assume it’s generally like this on most servers). I guess this recent evidence proves me wrong though…
We have strong Commanders (and bad ones). I suggest players of FA start looking at what each Commander is doing and even asking them.

No I never did solo 12-15 guys, it was more like 6 or 8. No I’m not hacking either, I was just utilizing terrain very heavily. Will upload it when I got time =P
It’s always fun to have numbers on your side I guess. There are a lot of other guilds on FA that have been great and haven’t given up, hopefully we can work on our participation as a whole over the next few days. Also what’s up with the whole no signature thing, if you’re going to gloat about destroying the other server at least post your name and guild.
Nobody on FA complained last week when we zerged the other servers. Why are people getting upset with Yaks because they have more people out. They are winning, should their players not be allowed to queue? Assuming equal WvW populations on 2 servers, the server who is winning will get more people out than a server that is losing. Here’s the solution: if you’re on FA queue up and zerg them back.
If you can’t find anyone then contact one of the WvW guilds on our server and follow them around. ULTD, PTX, GODS, PRO, ECHO, EE, BSG, KGB, NPO, NICE, PD, BT (sorry if I missed any). I’m sure you’d be able to find a few people to run around with.
As far as population goes, I have played many different times of day, luckily my employment lets me do that. Anyways have been on FA since the start and I only ever experience wait times to get into WvW for the first few hours after reset on Friday, then never again.
interestingly enough, Yaks Bend is the same.
Some people are talking about the huge zergs on every map and our awesome 4 map superzerg 24 hour coverage. But in reality, aside from maybe friday night US prime time, i can log in and get instantly into WvW.
We have light queues on some maps during NA peak times and some maps have no queues during NA prime. off peak hours maybe we’ll have a queue here and there but off peak we could have hundreds more and be fine.
no, we are playing with a pretty small server. our teamwork and sound play just makes it seem big at times.
i too remember those weeks ago when we fought maguuma and lost. have we even gotten 1 new guild on the server since then? i don’t think so. if we did it wasn’t more than 10 or 20 folks and they aren’t in WvW.
So keep talking about our huge zergs that are sitting on every map. The whole time we’ll be playing on our server with light to no queue times and walking around with more golems than we have people on foot. Did anyone even notice that in those screenshots? There were almost no people on foot.
I think Yaks and FA are the same population wise. YB may have a few more off NA peak players but we are probably very similar population wise overall. It has been said hundreds of times but we seem to lose a large number of our people when we fall behind and having no off hours crew makes it difficult for some of the non regular WvW players to get interested since we start off behind. People are still here, they are just hiding in cursed shore doing plinx over and over again. Not making any excuses, we have to get better as a server where participation is concerned. period. The people who have been doing WvW on FA since day 1 know this and a few of the guilds have been trying to get the other players on the server interested but it’s hard to do.
It all comes down to the fact that we on FA have to dry our tears and man up. I’ve seen some great things from our server and I know we can get better. I’m more than willing to help anyone interested in WvW any way I can, just send me a tell in game and I’ll try my best to help anyone who needs it.
That being said I’m having a great time so far, YB is one of the better servers I’ve played against. Save your golems for NA primetime next time so I can see them.
But is this what WvW is now? Advertising and networking? The best thing anyone can do for their server is promotion. Literally attract large guilds to come to your server (preferably with off peak presence) and make it impossible for anyone else to beat you, even if they have superior tactics and execution.
This is it in my opinion. Population = win really. I’ve never gotten so many badges than I have the past 2 days. I’m impressed by the level of YB participation, even if they are all lowbies that get rolled over and over again.
There must be quite a few over night players on Yaks since the forum posts double overnight in this thread. That or you have a small group of the fiercest forum warriors I’ve seen since we fought blackgate and the forums were backlogged by hundreds idiots posting BEASTGATE IS KING after transferring to blackgate so fast they didn’t even have time to take out the name of their old server from their forum signature.
Whining and complaining about server coverage aside, I look forward to actually having someone to fight all week. Different servers will have different coverage and that will be reflected in the points. That’s the state of WvW at the moment, people have to stop taking the overall points so seriously/personally.
