Well if you spin really fast with 2 daggers, you’re going to reflect all projectiles. But an immaterial tornado? kitten that kitten, shoot it down. Le sigh.
Haha yeah, not to mention the Tornado graphic not showing up 75% of the time.
Could someone please explain to me, why we can bleed, be poisoned AND crippled as a bunch of mist, or a raging tornado made of wind….last time I checked a tornado couldn’t stub it’s toe on a building and limp away.
Also just a little more feedback, people will respect and want to try yoru spec/advice more if you show it to them in actual use, like sPvP or WvW.

You act like this is the only game to have changes made to it and not be told about them. Log in and figure out the changes on your own. Not very hard simply by playing the game.

The main point (talking to the rest of the people) is that I have seen post after post of people asking for the patch notes especially when they start noticing their skill don’t work like they did 5 min before.
And to tell Teulux one more thing, it’s not our job to log in and test every aspect of the game to see what has changed, it’s ANets job to provide patch notes to their player base.
Do you REALLY need a post saying “routine maintenance no changes were made” ?

It is not really that hard to understand. They give us a game with more then 90% up time, the ability to patch on the fly and you still cry about anything you can think of.

If I signed on and things weren’t ninja nerfed i.e. RTL, Drop rates etc…then we probably wouldn’t care…but when that stuff happens all to often YES we want to know…

I know this has been the source of a lot of disrepair for the community.
The bots are VERY annoying and ruin gameplay, but I wanted to share something from a post. This is an official ANet response on it.
Hopefully this will make some of you feel better.

Since it has been a few weeks since we gave an update on this, just wanted to quickly update where we stand. We recently hired an entire new team of people with one mission in mind: operation bot destruction.
They’ve been getting everything in place to accomplish our goal of making botting, hacking, spamming, and malicious behavior as non-existent as possible in Gw2. In the last few weeks, over 10,000 bot accounts were banned from the game alone. Another area of massive improvement has been in account security, where our two-factor authentication as well as your password changes have led to account thefts dropping to a tiny rate. A vast majority of account thieves use those accounts to run bots and/or perform RMT transactions, so our serious beefing up of account security has led to fewer bots, and most importantly fewer stolen accounts. That being said, we have massive improvements on the way in the next couple of weeks that help us detect, verify, and remove botters.
What we don’t want to do is have someone report you as botting, we ban the account, the bot appeals, and we have no data to prove they were botting on file so we have to give them the account back. Ensuring we have 100% clear data on bots that’s incredibly easy for our GM team to quickly verify, and when an appeal is submitted verify within seconds if the person was truly botting is our most important goal. We don’t want to ban people who were not botting, and we want to keep the people who are permanently locked out.
Bottom line: We’re doing ok, but we know we can and need to do much better on this front and are putting massive resources behind ensuring we have a permanent solution to this issue. You’ll see a dramatic improvement in this area in the next few weeks as our remaining detection and bot destruction tools and staff come online.
We’ll continue to keep updating on this front as we go forward, but rest assured we are aware of issues folks are raising and take them incredibly seriously. From FOV to bots, account restoration to more awesome stuff to do at level 80 we have teams working like mad on all of these fronts."

It’s kind of getting annoying to download a patch and have no patch notes to go along with it.
ANet is beginning to get a reputation for ninja nerfing/incomplete patch notes, so i would like to know what I am downloading whenever I go into the game.
Just giving feedback that a lot of people would love to see the notes every patch, even if it’s one item.
Do you think the game would be better off without it?
Do you think the skill needs adjustments and is too powerful?
Do you think it is fine as is?
Could we please get some patch notes?

If Guild Wars 2 was e-sport material it would have been one yesterday.
Developers can’t just will an e-sport into existence. Video games become e-sports when there’s a community of players and spectators that feel the game is worth taking seriously on a professional level.
sPvP features, balance changes, and ranking systems won’t change a thing as long as PvP is the MMO equivalent of Hungry Hungry Hippos.
If ArenaNet truly wants to create an e-sport they need to create a good PvP experience first, the rest will take care of itself.

I do a ton of damage, have survivability, and get out of dodge before it gets to bad and then run back in after I heal.

I want a formal response to the issue of teleporting through base walls. What is the purpose of having a door if you can teleport through the wall and kill the lord? Some people claim that it is not an exploit, but I want Anet to comment in the forums on this. If base doors were not meant to be destroyed in order to enter a base, then why have them?

If you think it is intentional then you are just out of your mind, yes it’s a bug…you would be in a better place using their in game reporting feature for bugs instead of coming here demanding responses. All that does is make you look childish.

Updated the stability boon to stack duration up to 3 times.

The three guilds I’m currently in are empty. I take a survey, four people respond when I ask in map chat who’s out there I run around through several empty dynamic events. The game is built with dynamic events being a critical component of story delivery, but they aren’t designed to be solo-able.
I could try my luck, crack my armor, spend my in-game savings. This is so frustrating. I do a few heart quest, one has me gathering items and taking them back to an NPC, I get bored quickly. I try for the next chapter of my personal story but fail it. It wants me to be two levels higher than I currently am. My armor isn’t good enough, have to grind….

I’m in Lions Arch selling loot and doing a little crafting. My loot is mostly whites and blues. trash items. I take what bronze I can get. I’m bored, going to check out the human starter area maybe there are other players there in zone for my level.
I arrive in Divinity’s Reach. Mostly a ghost town. I step outside. I cross the bridge and run past the sprinklers on the hill. Other players! Rangers with bears! A lot of rangers with bears I run with them, but they don’t respond to my local chat. . I don’t like this group, I move on.
In the swamps I see a very large creature spawn. He’s huge. We have three others players here trying to take him down, but simply not enough to make it work. We all die many times before giving up the fight.

Why do I still take damage from bleeds if I am in the mist…I thought I was supposed to be water vapor, last I checked water vapor doesn’t bleed.
I find that in a thread with 130+ posts, screenshots from multiple people clearly showing the problem and their frustration to be very disheartening that ANet hasn’t made a post yet

Well play better! Yes I agree, there is always something that can be done, I have watched videos, learned class mechanics by playing as the classes I have trouble with and done my research on what to do in several situations.
Well get better by playing! I have played a lot and specifically geared my skills/gear to try and prevent some of this burst.
What has it done? Nothing, you still get killed within seconds, there is no DR on anything so if you come across a few classes that can CC, you might as well go get a drink cause you wont be playing your character at all as you watch them lay on the ground.
This isn’t skillful pvp…it doesn’t take skill to pop a couple CD’s and kill someone within a couple seconds. I am sorry if you think that is what it is, but it is not. There is little strategy in the game modes as well because a lot of it weighs heavily on your group make up.
I wont even get started on bugged skills…
All in all, I am gonna give it some more time and really try to love this PvP, but at the current rate…no one I know enjoys it and we have all been hardcore PvPers for years and years in many different games. The CC, Burst, unbalanced classes, BUGS, and static game mode just ruin it.
Anyways, I am sure I will get a bunch of hate replies or “l2play” comments but please understand, I give feedback because I care and I want the devs to see not everyone is just happy as can be so maybe it can help in making the game better.

I’m sorry man, but the issues a lot of people are encountering with bugged skills/traits, insta gib classes, chain cc and everything….this really isn’t a l2play matter.
On top of stun braker, you’ve got interrupts also that you need to save for those chain CC sequences, professions which use CC chains tend to become predictable so you can sort of try to develop a counter strategy that works for you.
For example I use d/d ele to counter every other profession now, using the same build I simply change approach, from counter oriented to extremely aggressive style ( against mesmers where speed is everything).
Against those CC sequence I make great use of chill ( which I can stack up to 14s in one go based on the enemy) and burst them down afterward ( as they’re extremely squishy compared to me)

Play a class that has to actually WORK for burst damage (Elementalist for example), and then play a Thief, you’ll see how stupid easy it is to burst as a thief. They don’t need a damage nerf, they need their playstyle difficulty increased.

I wasn’t reporting it, I was commenting on the explosion of bots I have seen recently.
My guild transferred recently and I can’t transfer to the server because it’s full. I understand that WvW is unbalanced but this particular server isn’t even winning, or even close to it. This is pretty lame.
Before you come here with that attitude you should probably understand how it really works.
As soon as the server drops to high population as people sign off you can transfer to it.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this type of thing yet.
As we all know bots have been in the game since the beginning, but I have seen a RAPID increase in them lately.
Look at these screenshots…it’s very frustrating, especially when my wife and I were trying to do a heart and they kept coming through wiping out all the mobs.
Keep in mind everyone (except me and reinea) you see in these screenshots are bots that we watched for quite sometime.
Just a heads up, ANet has already announced D/D improvements and downed state improvements coming for ele.
Rezo could you expand on what makes it a nightmare?
Is it our skills or because we die fast?
If it is the die fast part, would stacking vitality and toughness work? Or is the class more of glass cannon or no damage.
If it’s the skills what do you think is wrong with them?
Hi, OP.
Ele is amazing. Anyone telling you otherwise is either bad or didn’t do their homework.
I currently roll two builds. First one is for general solo PvE. Full “Carrion” armour and jewellery set, along with carrion weapons. The set gives condition damage > power = vitality. Traits are 0/0/10/30/30. I usually run earth’s embrace for earth trait, cleansing wave, cantrip mastery, cleansing water for water traits, and elemental attunement and evasive arcana for arcane traits. For the second arcane trait, select the weapon you have equipped (windborne dagger/vigorous scepter/blasting staff).
With ~20k HP, PvE is easy peasy, you can take plenty of hits, same in small scale pvp (wvw roaming or spvp). You will be permanently dealing upwards of 1000 dps in condition damage alone (if the enemy is removing them, you’re on a much shorter cooldown), with some extra damage from all the power on your gear. D/D and S/D is great in this build, but fire staff DPS is a bit lacking, due to not enough burning effects, but in a good group that uses the fields you put down, it’s still not bad at all. The amount of healing and condition removal you can do in dungeons is great, too, thanks to water fields + evasive arcana. Rolling into a water field while attuned to water should heal for ~3k+ from the blast and evasive arcana effect alone.
The second build I use is strictly for group PvE/dynamic events and large scale WvW battles. It’s a 30/20/0/0/20 build with a full set of (lol blue) berserker gear. Traits are pretty simplistic, more damage, even more damage against people under 25%, free might stacks every fire spell you cast, blasting staff, etc. I don’t remember all of them right now.
It deals insane amounts of damage in fire with any weapon set, but is very squishy. Not that it matters, you have plebs… err non-elementalists to act as meat shield. 1200 range should mean you don’t even get shot at in zergs, and meteor shower can extend this range ever further, thanks to it’s huge aoe. Combine the range with frozen ground from water and the crippling line thingy from earth for ultimate lols.
Staff auto-attacks and lava font will crit for ~2k+, meteors will hit for 3k+, clearing any and every enemy you come across in short order. Just stand inside your team’s zerg and spam meteors and lavafonts, while autoattacking during cooldowns. Infinite kills for free. Use fire signet for more crit, mist form for escaping tight spots and arcane wave as a blast finisher for stacking even more might with your eruption+lava font combo.
These are two, pretty straightforward builds. They’re both very easy to use, and work very well in their intended roles.

In WvW with your Staff build, do you usually get a lot of kills (meaning loot bags) cause I have been having trouble getting them without a siege weapon.
I just hit 30 and placed my first 10 into water, and second 10 into Earth which gave me more hp and toughness and have been trying to mix my gear between power/vit/tough and I run scepter/dag.
Do you see anything wrong with scaling my gear like that stat wise?

Just because they don’t prioritize based on YOUR belief on what comes first, doesn’t mean they aren’t doing it right.
You don’t know what they are working on, heck they already announced buffs for D/D ele coming.
