Can’t say I’m impressed with any of the legendary skins, and won’t be wasting the effort on obtaining one, particle effects or not.

Another solution maybe is for Anet just to sell skins through the cash shop, do away with all this farming and grinding for an item that isn’t any better than an exotic, then we all can just play the game again.

@Sin.8174, chest drops are not the problem, they drop of mobs pretty frequently, the issue I have is that keys don’t drop of the mobs at any ratio, only as rewards for completing a map or a reward from a story mission including the ability to obtain another key in a chest. When these chests were opened in Beta they contained some nice items including a mini pet. now the only way of obtaining a mini pet is to buy them from the cash shop as far as I’m aware.
The original statement from the Devs is that all items in the cash shop are obtainable in-game, and that statement is completely untrue. Now people playing during the Beta were supporting Anet about the items in the cash shop and specificly about the chests, when videos were going about to prove to the nay sayers that keys drop and the chests have items containing those that are available in the cash shop, from my point of view this is considered miss-selling, and that’s exactly what Anet have done indirectly.

75 gems for one dye, when I can buy a pack of 7 for 200 gems and get a rare dye in the mix, even cheaper just to buy those dyes from the BLTC for a few copper. Not sure what Anet is smoking with this latest offer.

Remove the ability to trade in-game currency via mail, most of the problem solved.
How about if I want to give my wife’s character 30 G so she can up her crafting? I don’t like to craft, she does. I like to farm, she doesn’t. I give her money and she happily crafts stuff for me to use/wear. I’ve done it in every mmo I’ve played with her.
Like I said, “practical”. developers can do a lot of things but very few of them are functional or practical.
There are no easy, simple solutions to this. Even just limiting gold trade via guild bank is laughably easy to bypass – legally mind you.
Do what I have done with my missus, create a guild together, it doesn’t take long to get a bank.

Had the same issue as OP, except I used 3 rares and the Mystic Forge stone, and received nothing, I submitted a bug report. I won’t use the forge with the stones now, I’m not prepared to lose money buying them stones if the forge doesn’t return anything. Anets unwilling to compensate for losses or even leave feedback on the issue.

The chests are not all that good imho, got 2 characters to level 80 and never had a key drop, yet in beta keys did drop for the chests, the only keys I ever received was rewards from story mode. I had 64 chests in my bank at one point, I just dumped them on the trading post for a few copper. For what you get inside these chests I really couldn’t justify buying keys from the cash shop.

Personally I have little enthusiasm to login any more, Anet wants to put these restrictions in place then I really don’t see the point of trying to carry on. From where I’m sitting they are telling me how long I can play for. They implement a system that requires you to farm, then say NO you are not going to play the way you want to play, you shall play how we dictate. Yes Anet you may have got my money this time, but you won’t be getting any more.

Considering this game is reliant on people farming to get the better gear, then no DR should be implemented for players, the pro Anet brigade need to come off their high horses and stop sucking up.

Although the Tank in GW2 doesn’t really exist, but as a guardian I have built myself to be a survivor and help the party/team to survive in most situations. With my elite skill I have over 6 abilities to regen and buff players including condition removal, and the ability to insta res a player, using the skills wisely you can overcome most bosses. Lets also not forget that the game is made for you to go into down state often, a lot of people still dont know how to use those down state skills.
I think a lot of people are creating their character to pure dps and not utilising their defensive skills as much as they should be, I might not have the best damage output but I can out survive most fights even when I take on a group of 4 – 6 mobs, including Veterans in the mix, even my ranger can survive a lot more than some other rangers that I see around, so I don’t see its down to just this class is better than that class argument all the time.

Like with all things, we can only take our dissapointment with us and perhaps reach out to another community (like REDDIT) in the hope this issue is looked at, and that we get a word from someone from ANET.
At this very moment, the seem desperate to ignore it or to let it die, if it can ever die.
What do you expect Anet to do? There’s been 100+ new threads a day crying about Bot’s so they DR’d everything to make you run across the map or log out for a couple hours till ur DR reset.
I’m not expecting Arenanet to do anything, I just find it bewildering that they create a game based on farming and grinding content, then have a drop rate that is so low and then implement an anti farming mechanic that is suppose to hurt bots but is actually just frustrating the player base. I don’t claim to be technically minded so am not sure how or if alternative ways are viable as a preventable measure, other than to constantly monitor data. Maybe proactive GM’s could be the better solution?
The other issue that I think is hitting home right now, is that the communication from Anet seems to have dissolved to what we had before release, and that is rather a sad affair considering how they portrayed themselves during some media interviews. Slightly off track, but needed to be said.

Anet have always said their game is about having fun, and I agree with them gaming should be about having fun.
But I’m not, everything you want in regards to armour or weapons is all about grinding, whether its Karma, Lodestones or badges of honor, in a period of around 7 hours I got 1 Lodestone, ( and I was wearing as much MF gear as possible with food buff), does Anet seriously believe this is a fun element of their game?
WvW I received 2 badges after completing my monthly, just 2?
Karma gear, requires how many hours of grinding the same content over and over to get a full set of gear @ 42,000 a piece? seriously Anet?
With Anet putting an anti farming bot mechanic into the game just makes the mind boggle and is slowly but surely just making me want to uninstall.

Seeing a lot of this going on, it needs to stop, a commander was organising trade offs on Gandara other day, when I tackled him, all I got was told to “shut up”.

I see both sides of the debate here, what is really interesting is the lack of response from the Devs and what feedback or solution they can give to resolve this issue.
