Those with the gold are buying out the Precursors that were lowering the price and reselling at the higher price, keeping those prices high.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
2 hours farming pent and shelter, got 2 rares in that time with full MF gear, food buff and banner, other members of the farming party in the same boat. Anet wants to stop trying to control the economy and leave it to the players to decide, because changing drop rates and putting in DR’s does exactly that.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Seriously what is the point, they don’t care about you or me and our complaints, they have proven this time and again.
Completely switched their manifesto on its back and going in a different direction we was sold on.
Still waiting on stuff to be fixed and implemented since release.

“As a structure the MMO has lost the ability to make the player feel like a hero. Everybody around you is doing the same thing you are doing the boss you just killed re-spawns 10 minutes later, it doesn’t care that I’m there”
Something seriously wrong with their statements.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Take any triple A MMO, there is no grinding compared to GW2, this game has to be the grindiest game I have ever played. Even with the ability to buy of the TP you had to grind for that gold to buy those ingredients.
Even the new gear you have to grind the dungeon to obtain the gear.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
lvl 80 full exotics done lvl 2 run to the end, my repair bill was just over 9 silver, and I died plenty dropping from heights and that stupid stairway that you have to dodge electrical bars on, you are telling me that 9 – 10 silver is to much for you to pay for repairs, and I doubt it would cost you that much if you are only lvl 65.
I can understand people not wanting players that have not reached lvl 80 , they die a lot, had a lvl 61 in our party on a lvl1 fractual, it was like he was being 1 shotted everytime we came up against a mob. But we didnt deny him a run, it was pretty funny.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Its not a great game, it falls far short of that, a good game to play for free, but most other sub or even free to play games have more content and depth in comparison.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Just an insight, I thought i’d invest in gems and bought 20g worth of gems, but when I went to see the value of them gems at the same transfer rate they were only worth 14g 76s. so wasnt a good way to make gold. I’m not convinced its based on supply and demand and think its totally controlled by Anet.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I really don’t have the enthusiasm to run a dungeon over 200 times to get one piece of gear. In Guild Wars you ran a mission to get ascension on your gear, so why Anet has gone with this “make them all grind for it” mentality is beyond stupid.
To Mike O’Brien
Why have you created a game that requires players to grind the same content over and over to obtain something? when you publicly made a statement saying that your game does not require a player to grind? when it most blatantly does.
Mike won’t answer because he knows they know the game has gone in a completely different direction than they claimed in their manifesto. The team has lied constantly about GW2 before release, during interviews and Beta weekend events. I’d put any money on it, if a case of wrongful/fraudelent advertising was taken up in court, Anet would be making out of court settlements.

Guardian and watch the thief’s run (well most of them) takes them to long to kill you (1vs1). Obviously based on how well you play.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
First things first, Guild Wars 2 is downright the best MMO to be released since World of Warcraft, with a level of potential unmatched by any other game out there. I would love to hear some of these whiners name an MMO that lives up to their ideals. (hint: they can’t, that’s why they’re here in the first place)
Now, having witnessed the launch of many games over the years, I can’t help but notice a little sub-section of the MMO community, who hop from game to game, and proceed to cry and moan about the most petty and insignificant things. They are never happy, and are a plague to almost every game released.
In your Opinion. Obviously you never played anything before WoW.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I would of thought so, but tbh I don’t think there is enough variation on skins, I know its another way to obtain these skins but I’d like more vendors to be selling different cultural for each race through this system. Took me 2 weeks to get Arah body because it was always closed every-time I went there.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Anet will not run the event again, its a case of them saying “sorry you couldnt make the event please look out for another in the future blah blah blah” Anet has very predictable response to everything these days. Not the team we used to know.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Well they did make it enormously large and placed it on the ramp back up… Plus there was probably a pretty big group of players around it shouting exotics and stuff in the chat.
Actually no that didnt happen, we all continued back up the ramp to the top, where we all died enmasse, only a few of us had the intelligence to port to waypoint and run back and res those who refused to port, they know they get ressed so they don’t bother porting as we all know we need more bodies up to complete.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
If its any consolation I’m totally narked myself, I got to the bottom of the hive and once everything was killed, started ressing everyone that died on the ramp, then continued back up the ramp following the zerg, don’t think I was the only one, maybe they should do away with the chest and mail them instead for completing these events, one thing that Bioware done good with the reward system in SWtoR. Easy to miss in the midst of battle.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Just logged into the game where players were talking about the drops, and was informed that players were mailed a chest that contained items for completing the event. is this true?
I spent around 3 hrs doing that event and got the normal 300+ karma and silver you normally get with doing a DE,
But back to my point, why did some players get mailed to them chests and players like me got nothing? Any truth to this or did I come across some trolls?
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
So that tiny DE was phase 2?
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I think the idea is to encourage players to empty pending items from the database and free up some room. Its the only logical reasoning I can see why they implemented it.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
When I checked to tranferring of gold to gems the price was 20g for just over 2000gems, but if I was to buy gold for gems the price is so much lower 2000 gems for 14g, shouldnt the prices be level? or is this another way to sink gold from the economy, seems a little unfair if someone decided to change their mind.

Gave up on even attempting story mode dungeons, nobody wants to do them, only one I have done is Arah SM.
The implementation of story mode sounds good on paper but in practice doesn’t work for those that didn’t rush through content.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Seriously I thought Anet learnt their lesson from Halloween, players had their fingers burnt once with this gambling mechanic.

If the game is in its original condition (ie game code has not been used the seal is not broken) then I don’t think you would have a problem.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Full exotic armour and trinkets, armour cost me around 17g, my main weapon (Mystic Claymore) I created in forge, secondary weapons (scepter and torch) cost around 4-5g, the rest (Jewelry) I made and cost me nothing except my time.
My armour I transmuted for the Arah Karma armour which I still not been able to get the last 2 pieces becasue its always bugged the last couple of weeks.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I spent nearly a week before giving up on killing them colossus’s in Frostgorge, and yes I was wearing as much MF as my character slots allow including buffs. which reminds me I should update my sig.

Other thread got lock as I posted, so posting here.
Their manifesto sounded great and all. The problem they are finding is that it doesn’t work in practice in its current form. The content update is more silly pve casual stuff. Put in better, more competitive pvp, fix WvW and create ranked ladders, fix exploits, bugs and continue to balance and you have a game with a chance to really keep people going for years. Do it not and you have SWTOr 2.0. Simple.
It lasted slightly longer than SWtOR, but yes people are correct, GW2 is not having any lasting appeal as most players was expecting, I have tied to convince myself that it isn’t an Asian grind, but I’m fooling myself. DR system has done a lot of damage, Bots are hurting the economy and out of control. Why Anet insists on pi**ing players off is beyond comprehension, the attitude of we created this game and this is the way its going to be is not going to do them any favours in the long term.
The manifesto before release was a load of cob wallops as far as I’m concerned, the company we all knew has got greedy and are not living up to the standards we once knew, GW1 was brilliant, a milestone in gaming, but GW2 has a long way to go to achieving the accolade that GW achieved.

I was in 3 guilds in the first month of release, I quit everyone because I felt excluded as a member, I joined their mumble/TS and was talked over and never could get a word in after being told we must use TS/mumble, so we did reluctantly because I was always using Skype to quest with my partner.
My feelings were that I was invited to their guild for one reason, to give the guild points for doing my activities. I ended up creating a guild for myself and my missus. I have been in guilds with other mmo’s and found them to be very good on the most part, but with this game, guilds don’t feel very social or welcoming in comparison.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Introduce a weekly where you have to get specific amounts of materials from low level zones and take part in specific number of low lvl events to earn tokens to hand into an npc. this should encourage players to go to these zones.
Problem Anet created was there is never a reason to replay other zones once characters hit 80.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
If I’m pressed for time I’ll do my daily in Wayfarer Hills just outside of Hoelbrak. Takes me 15 minutes. Otherwise I’ll just do my daily wherever I’m actually playing..
15 mins to do 5 events solo…. wow, I guess I’m a lot slower, cuz it takes me around 30-40 mins trying to find new DE’s with people – I don’t like grinding DEs.
Hit the DE then run to another, it still counts to your daily, don’t need to do a full DE.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
The reason I have never done a dungeon, so many bad stories on this issue along with other reasons. Can’t even do a monthly now because Anet wants us to do the dungeons.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I don’t think people are frightened of Orr, more likely people find it boring and irritating. Orr is just a high lvl farming zone that pays off in T6 mats, Karma and loot.
If you took notice of your story line it was mentioned on a couple of occasions that Orr should be tackled with groups and that you will have a harder time going out on your own.

Hello Lee,I apologize for the misunderstanding. Upon further investigation of your issue, we have found that your purchase of Guild Wars 2 has been chargedback. As a result of the chargeback, the game account associated with the purchase has been closed and the credit or debit card used in the transaction has been blocked and will not be available for use with NCsoft in the future.
Our decision to close an account in the event of a chargeback is the result of both regulations set forth by our credit transactions services provider as well as the fees involved with a chargeback that NCsoft incurs as a result of the chargeback.
The issuer of the card will only process a chargeback if the credit card owner has already attempted to resolve the billing dispute with the company making the transaction without success.
Please be aware that NCsoft support has no record of any requests for assistance regarding billing issues from either the owner of the credit card or the person who created this game account prior to the credit card dispute.
Regards,
GM Bunni3What do our GM mean by this reply? My account is stil blocked/suspended. Are they still investigating or is my case closed for good?
Your account is closed and the debit/credit card associated with that GW2 account is blocked for chargeback. it says that in the first paragraph.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I don’t particularly like Orr as I think it is a boring grind festing area, the only reason people being there is to farm karma and T6 mats, the mobs have no variation, oh look a risen, oh look another risen, it got old fast.
Frostgorge is more appealing imo and I assume many more people agree, lets just hope Anet does something that makes the game a bit more interesting in the near future.

with all the free transfers people have had, you would of thought they would of settled on a server where their friends are or at least agree between them to play on a specific home server, all the QQ’ing about the guest feature not being implemented is null and void and just an excuse for certain individuals not able to jump server to the winning servers everyday.
The other reason is now they can’t farm multiple servers for T6 mats all week.

Why do you guys keep making posts about bots? They have told you what they are doing and why it takes time, yet you keep making posts about bots that only get closed and you get an infraction.
They are working on it. Report any bots you see and move on. No need to make forum posts about it.
Because we are sick to the back teeth with them, they ruin our gaming experience, they ruin the events, they are ruining the economy, players feel they need to take their frustration somewhere and talking about it at least gives some release to that frustration. We are seeing the same characters day after day week after week, after being reported on more occasions than a dare count and they are still allowed to continue. If it bothers you that players need to talk about it in the forum go read a thread that doesnt talk about bots, Simple is it not?
No, you are immature because you don’t like the answer that they have given you on what they are doing.
They tell you they are working on it, what they are doing, and why it takes time. You and the others can’t seem to accept this so you keep making whiny posts about it that do NOTHING except, as you say, “feel they need to take their frustration somewhere”/
That’s how a child responds… it’s called a tantrum.
Is that so, and going to every bot thread trolling is not immature i guess?
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
A little curious, but why would you be mousing around the environment whilst mailing someone?

Really don’t understand why Anet doesnt start charging for transfers, then put a 30 or 60 day cool down on new transfers.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
How do they get low level characters to Orr?, I tried to go into a lvl 40 zone with a lvl 20 but the agro range was tremendous, mobs ran after me from miles away. Shelter in Orr on Gandara server is the same, lots of low lvl characters with a couple of lvl 80’s.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
MF does not work on chests. Its been said before but I can’t find the post. It also doesn’t work on Salvage, and Mystic Forge.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Did it solo and recorded it with fraps, got a 10 slot trick-or-treat bag, 5 chattering skulls, crafting booster! and one green mace. took me over 40 minutes by my self and the reward ensures i’ll never do it again.
Edit: short video of my bad luck with rewards.
Done it solo aswel but should of kept it to myself as all I got was bad mouthed and called out as a liar, but meh, got a Exotic light armour piece with divinity rune from the chest and some other blues, the king dropped a 10 slot TOT bag and other rubbish. I also have no intention to do it again. Even though getting the chest was harder than the fight.

As a guardian the GS is a great weapon, but some bosses including the recent Mad king I swapped to Scepter and Torch, as it was more effective, and getting up close and personal was a death wish.

I wouldn’t advice it, pick on a legit player and you could find your own account banned for harassment.
