I recently submitted a report to support, but as I have 2 emails, one for game and one for forums which are both connected to my account name, which email should you use? email attached to game or forum? I made the assumption the email attached to game as it seemed the most appropriate. Is that correct?
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
A non-refundable 36 gold to list a pear as a joke?
I think you’d be far more amused if you used the gold to hire another character to follow you around as your own personal bafoon for a day.
puts on foolscap
Buy orders don’t have a listing fee.
maybe then they should.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Sure these guys pose a problem but there’s a larger one:
Arenanet doesn’t give out enough gold rewards or provides a means to make money that counters the sellers who ARE legit.
Completely agree, this is the bigger issue. If something isn’t done about the drop rate by the time the Dec 14th patch comes along I can well imagine people will be leaving the game.
You can only starve the public for so long before there are consequences and yes you can alienate the public to the point of no return even in a business model that doesn’t have subscriptions keeping the game going.
I hope they are paying attention.
I’m already gone, I only check forums now and then to see any new progress. The mats I require are incredibly stupid low drop rate, I know Anet needs to make money with the gem shop, but trying to push players to the gem shop won’t help their cause. I’m not going to play for years chasing skins, they need to create more meaningful content. Running a dungeon 200 times to get 1 item isn’t meaningful, nor enjoyable.

Whatever you enjoy the most.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I think it’s foolish after everything that has happened to believe that the dye rate increase and drop were accidental.
You don’t accidentally go into the loot tables and change a number of one item to something much higher.
If they just straight out nerfed it, they would have had all of you shouting at them. By “accidentally” increasing it, they gave themselves the benefit of the doubt for you to not hate them. So now nerfing & sustaining the nerf, they still have some of you hoping it will be “fixed”.
We aren’t playing the game, we are getting played.
I related that in another thread a while back, but the fanbois don’t see it.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
The ones that drop sell to the brainless and put that silver to the dyes you need. win win.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Apart from emotional ties to Anets Original name, I see no reason to work for the Triforge, the stats are meh at best. Better off with an exotic that focuses on better stats for your character.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Agree with other posters, the hardest part was figuring how to get to it, once that was solved, the run is easy, mobs can be avoided even the vet i ran past and pulled the chain to open the gate even though you can jump over the gate, only mobs I had to fight was the vet next to vista, a turret and 2 dredge on last ramp to final platform.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Only ever did the monthly twice, I don’t bother with it now, not interested in dungeons nor doing the WvWvW, and I don’t know why they stuck PvP achievement on the PvE monthly when there already is a PvP monthly available for those who enjoy it.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Wow yet another troll post on gear progression. I sure hope not OP I hope we have stuff in game by then that makes ALL of your equip and time a waste.
And you have the audacity to call the OP a troll!!

I got 2 words for you: Market Manipulation. Nice try though.
This
One to many threads popping up with those thread headings.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
The prices are rising because most of the bots are gone now, so the items are not being stacked in heaps on the TP for a low price. Give it some time and the price will stabilize again.
That is partially correct, there has still been a massive nerf on ectos, dyes and rares, which is attributing to the prices going upwards. The way I see it, its Anet being able to manipulate the market by messing about with the drop rate RNG. They increased the drop rate on dyes then said oops that was a mistake, then dropped the drop rate on dyes even more so than before the increase. I’m a firm believer this was done deliberately hoping players wouldn’t notice so much.
When these sort of items have a direct and indirect influence on players buying gems then its in the best interest for Anet to interfere in the market by nerfing drop rates. I have played a lot of MMO’s like most people here, and I doubt not one of you can honestly say that drop rates have changed so much over the a short space of time that it has in GW2.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
(edited by Cod Eye.1632)
There is no stock movement in gems that stimulates the market, the only way the gems are stimulated is by Anet themselves. to believe buying and selling gems through the BLTC has an outcome on gem for gold prices is nothing short of being naive.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Good to see this AMA, but this could of all been answered a lot earlier, why wait so long to respond, and why do they insist on using Reddit and not use the official forums?
I’m still under the suspicion there has been some in-house issues regarding recent events and if their intention was to roll out the new gear with different ways of acquiring it then why wasn’t that implemented in the first place? as they admitted that they knew there would be a backlash from players.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
They did say they would add extra slots for the new collectables, but I doubt they will add a new tab for the other crafting items you mentioned. There is a good solution, and if you got some gold, create a guild for yourself, and buy some influence until you have enough for a guild bank. Either that or buy some gems for another bank tab.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
A fool and his money are soon (easily) parted. Seriously spending large sums of money for something that gives you easy access to inventory bank? Maybe Anet will be encouraged to sell these items for $300, easy money for them. Some people are nothing short of stupid.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
When Anet has complete control over the supply and demand then there will never be an accurate pricing structure based on a player made economy.
The gem transfer rate is directly controlled by Anet as they have an avid interest in making money from this set up.
I have never played an MMO where the drop rate keeps changing as much as I have seen in this game.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I just hit lvl 49 on a war I created about a week ago, I have done all the low level zones 1- 15, 15 -25 and a couple of 25 -35 zones. I have had 4 unidentified dyes in all that time, approx 60 hrs. The drop rate has definitely been tampered with.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
What I considered naughty on Anets part is that during the Beta event they included Min-pets within these chests, giving us the impression this is what those chests will contain during release. In some respect this was false advertising as they knew this would go by word of mouth and would support fans of the game evidence to the initial naysayers that told us the chests would contain nothing but junk.
Unfortunately now the naysayers have proved themselves correct and made all us look like idiots for supporting these chests in the first place.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
As long as there are players buying them they will stay. If there are a million players playing this game and only10% buy those chests then thats still a lot of money going into Anets pocket.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
It will never happen. The only people responding to threads are the mods that filter everything they don’t want on the forums, the team that brought this game to us and was very proactive once upon a time no longer talk to the players.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I think your prayers will be answered soon. You can then spend money like a kid in a candy store till the cows come home. Sad.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Because they want you to spend real money on their dye packs. Nexon has arrived at a game store near you.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I don’t care if you read this, i just want to share it. It started by someone asking for help for a skillpoint in kennex hills. Me and someone else offered to help, afterword we kind just stuck together, we did more events/skillpoints, then we hooked up with someone else. then we did a personal story mission, which was hard and a very good bonding experience. then we decided to go to wvw, but the guy we hooked up with dropped, so it was just us 3 amigos. i was scared, not much into wvw, i was always alone in it. i was never really in a group before. we took some supply camps, had to be sneaky with just 3 people. then some real people came and surprized us, so we resed and took another supply camp. while we were taking it, another group or about 3 came and helped. one of theirs dropped and we combined groups, they seemed nice. kind of like a zombie apocolypse “can we trust them” moment. lol well, we took many camps, many sentries, nodes, gained frogmen trust, and skillpoints. it was so fun and i leveled a lot. then we had to go to bed. I met a lot of nice people today, starting out small and local, going into a big war. we even killed a few players. this was my funnest experience with gw2 and i hope to have more. GOOD JOB ARENANET!!!!
That was the scary bit I read.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
People solo because they don’t need to group up. Personally I prefer forced grouping like the way FFXI had it.
It created bonding, it cleaned out the players that wanted to be ers-ats and thought they could get away with it. It created a better community overall.
Problem with games becoming to casual is that they attract a larger audience which doesn’t mean its a better game, its just more accessible.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
So after the sale the bulk rate of keys are going to go up to the price before the 50% reduction of 3120 gems? I don’t think so.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
There is currently 5,721 ectos on the market (give or take) and a demand for 76,185 (give or take). It should be pretty obvious what the ‘problem’ is here.
The other reason which ties in with demand is that supply has dropped from 22k + to an avg of 5k from 1 month ago.
@OP its not the price of Ectos thats killing the game, its Anet nerfing drop rates and nerfing salvaging that is killing all the enjoyment from this game.

Try midnight ice, its a pretty good substitute imo.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I ran around killing things last night and out of three veterans 1 champ I got 1 grey and 3 blues. The grey came off the champion.
Thats 4 items more than you used to get before the update on Veterans.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
There is also a saying " a bargain is not a bargain unless you need it or intended to buy it"
Nobody intended on buying 25 keys so how is it a bargain? you spent more money than you intended on something you didn’t intend to buy.
Also the prices of gems would of shot up with this sale thing so at the end of the day you haven’t saved anything.
At time of posting 68gems per1 gold, yes a real bargain. not.

Hello lordkrall,
They are trying to sell the items that nobody buys anyway. They are not offering anything.
Thanks and best regards,
Red
I’ve already spent buckets on fine transmutation stones. The fact that they’re on sale now makes me very happy. They’re also selling black lion merchants for super cheap…
Don’t care about the Black lion keys though. You have to buy them in freaking $20 chunks in order to get the deal. That’s just dumb. I don’t want 25 of them. I want 5. If that.
Why are you going through them transmution stones like candy to a kid?, I have a stack of around 30 in my bank from game rewards and occasional chest, and only used 6 on transmuting 1 set of karma armour.
I’m absolutely gobsmacked and amazed at how many of you waste money on the items in cash shop, none of which gives much benefit to the game or your character.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
(edited by Cod Eye.1632)
If that was the case then why didnt Anet give 50% off on the keys that was already in the shop, instead of creating a new cash shop item in the form of a new bunch of keys and try pulling wool over players eyes. A bunch of 5 keys was always 450 gems 1 key was always 125, so why not give 50% off on those items? instead of trying to force players to part with more cash than they really need to.
Seriously?
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
If you bought 5 bunches of 5 keys equalling to the bunch of 25 keys, the price would be 2250.
So how does Anet create a new bunch then try to deceive players saying they get 50% off on a bunch of keys @ 1560 gems.?
when I went to school 50% off was 50% not 30%.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I don’t think players on the whole are against the idea, but rather the way you have to obtain the items, they sold GW2 on the premise they don’t force players to grind for gear and that they don’t wish players to be on the gear grind treadmill, but just look at the materials required for players to obtain them items. Not a grind? I beg to differ.

Why does the PvE monthly contain PvP achievement when there already is a PvP monthly. That needs to be addressed.
I am not able to complete monthlies any more as I don’t do dungeons. My fault? maybe, but there are a lot of players I have come across who don’t do dungeons, mainly because they feel the rewards are not worth the effort.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Ditto, I really don’t see why people want to hammer the same dungeon and grind the same mobs for this, even if it has slightly better stats.
mr e-pein " woo I got all ascended"
mr who gives a **** “yeh!! cool, proof it”
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Watch this space, with Nexon under the hood, expect to have everything you can wish for, plus more. They are going to milk your bank balance dry.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
Shouldn’t be easy but should be a better way than grinding the same content over and over, if I wanted to play an Asian grinder I would play one of the many other games on the market that’s freely available.
Personally I think Anet have let themselves down and have shown that they are no better as a company than the others like Frogster and Nexon to name but 2. They marketed a good manifesto then hit us all with this BS.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
NVM FFXIV be out next year, they know how to treat players and create epic moments.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
At the end of the day, the developers have took our money and turned their backs on the players that supported them, they have given no statement to calm the situation down or given a reason as to why they created a grind which they said would not be in the game.
Mods have been ordered to delete threads on the subject hoping it goes away. Nexon has moved into the building and now the cash shop will be run by one of their former employees. Expect worse to come.

You do? I think its a terrible area with no real thought or imagination gone into it, anti zerg zone. No desire to back there and I will just stick with Orr for now.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
How’s the game? Well, I gave 3 trial keys to my friends, and after that last weekend one-time event, none of them wants to buy the game
One said the game isn’t even ready for beta hehe.
Yeh that event during the weekend wasnt a very good PR stunt to draw in new players.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
I gave it bad feedback, I was really disappointed with the event from phase 1 to phase 3 for losing out on the chest, I also think these events discriminate across wide spectrum of players whether it was time zones, religious believes, and those who could not commit to those days. People have lifes outside of GW2 and to run an event over 3 or 4 days during a weekend is to restricting.
They also need to test these events before making them live, they also need to understand that making players rush to one specific area is going to cause severe strain on the server and will likely to crash players.
I’d really like to go to one of their board meetings when they discuss these events because I don’t think any of them really think outside the box and think about the effects of their decisions.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
All 3 major releases of GW1 had large starting areas that were persistent worlds. You could leave the towns and find lots of people fighting mobs.
No… persistent means other people than your party which gw1 did not have. Did you even play GW1? Your statement is beyond false, it’s completely and utterly faulty.
GW1 by definition was not an MMO. However a.net did change a lot of stuff to make it more MMO-like but never really was. Without a persistent area, you do not have an MMO period. Pretty much end of discussion actually.Calling a bike a car does not make it so
The most accurate genre for GW1 most likely was “diablo 2 clone” or hack ‘n’ slash.
GW2 was made because GW1 wasn’t an MMO.
I was going to comment about the same thing, but I think he is referring to the starter zone where you do see other players fighting mobs, it was the only persistent area in the game, most of the older players play this area to get achievement and to attempt reaching lvl 20. Its also one of the better areas for getting black dyes from my understanding.
The second you walked out the gates in PreSearing it was just you and maybe one other person in the Ascalon countryside. The only time you ever dealt with people who weren’t in your party in a non-pvp setting in GW was two missions in Factions where your team worked together with another, randomly selected, team to achieve a goal that converged two separate story lines and which only existed as long as you were in the mission zone.
The only true persistent areas were the towns which were essentially fancy hub lobbies since no actual combat ever took place in them that you could participate in.
Been a while since I played, I apologise as I stand corrected.
“After several hours I’m still swinging this sword with1 lodestone drop”
We would of seen more creativity. We wouldn’t have people screaming for mounts everytime a new mmo hits the market. I could go on and on, but shall leave it there, and as someone already mentioned, someone somewhere would of created the WoW.

Was farming shelter and pent today for about 2 hrs, started with full MF gear and food never seen one rare drop for about an hour, so swapped back to normal gear, within minutes 3 rares dropped, ended up with 5 rares in about 45 minutes. Whether Anet have done something unintentionally or not, but something is wrong with MF at the moment imo.
