It’s funny how quiet it got in TS when ET cheated… Was such a good fight… and ET just had to cheat to try to win… You’ve almost demoralized us by cheating alone. And yet, we’re still kicking your teeth in. I pretty much hate ET more than HoD now. There’s no place for cheaters.
why do you hate HoD again?
More of a rivalry hate with them. I respect HoD, but hate them, if that makes any sense. I hate hate ET now… cheating is pathetic. Although I guess I never really respected them after seeing ruin make that stupid “apology” video.

GJ Exploiting the orb in Red borders guys, needing to cheat to win is pretty epic.
Didn’t ask what class can support. Clearly said WvW utility. As in, skills that specifically work well and benefit WvW. Of course support helps, but so does DPS and tanky classes. I’m looking more for classes that specifically bring an ability or abilities that greatly impact WvW battle. Mesmer can port, knockback and support if you must. I know theives can be a pain in the butt to capture points due to their invisibility.
I don’t see anything wrong with spies. I am concerned about people getting on to blatantly burn supplies in keeps though.
Obviously Mesmer likely takes the #1 spot with portals, and knockbacks. I may be biased I guess since Mesmer is my only 80. I am curious about other classes though like thief. I only have an engineer which has some knockback abilities that are nice and I like shooting the flamethrower through doors. But it still doesn’t seem to really compare to mesmer.
What other classes bring some nice utility to WvW? And what is it?
With the right build as a warrior or guardian you can jump into a zerg and hulk smash crap for a while and still get out safely if you do it properly. Melee warriors and guardians make great zerg pushers with their survival.
To say melee is useless, just means you’re bad. I’ve actually been running daggers on my necro and ele and do just as much if not more than the cowardly people sitting back trying to get as close as they can without getting hit all day.
I think I’ll stick around with a server that actually has rather good coordination and teamwork, vs a server that everyone just swarmed to because they have numbers.
Have fun in your boring #1 spot. Slaughters get boring quick. It’s the good fights that are fun. Challenges are fun, which is why this tier 1 is fun during the day, but overnight, it’s stupid.
If they ever consider making WvW more offbeat and random, than just every week, then henge would be more of a challenge instead of the slaughterer. Because then they’d have to keep up with the skillful strategy of these other servers. But it will always be henge with this being week long battles.
I guarantee henge couldn’t keep up with a lot of servers if it was only 2-3 days. And if ANET ever decides to make a change I stand by this challenge.

The treb is really slow firing and created for this reason. They are beatable(sometimes*).
*My only gripe with them is when they’re able to be built in impossible to reach area’s and the only other response is counter seige. That makes me want to break things.
I thought this was weird myself. They can be bought with coin, and badges, neither of which is character bound. The only way to obtain seige per character otherwise is jump puzzles. Which is like 8 possible, assuming, your even able to do the puzzles based on server, and all 4 everyday. Nothing to crazy to really justify it.
I always get all hyped up when leaders talk about henge being beatable during the day. But the reality is, is unless these guys can stay on 24/7 with a mass amount of players. It just can’t happen. Henge can be destroyed pretty easily during peak hours, but it’s entirely impossible, to keep up with numbers at all hours.
I’m on the graveyard shift, and frankly, it just doesn’t matter. The only nights we even keep up are on the first weekends of change day where everyone is hype and rushing and pulling extremely late nighters. After that, it comes down to day people taking a good portion of the map, and building up a defense for the night people, where IF WE’RE LUCKY, we can manage to hold a keep overnight. Usually something like hills with that lord room filled with seige defense.
It’s sad to me, and is making me lose interest in WvW knowing that it’s not that they’re not beatable skill wise. But many other respectable servers simply cannot keep up with the hours that henge can keep the masses logged in. It’s like all oceanic players decided to pick the winning server and all rallied there to get free wins.
This has revitalized my hope for hammer. I’m still low level so it just seems like epic crap and I always forget I’m not 80 yet. Cannot wait to wreck people, must level warrior faster.
So, I can’t help but feel these battles over a week are even too long. I like the idea personally. But it just seems after a few days of battle, I feel like the rank has been established, and it seems to be the overall general view on this as the queue times get shorter and shorter, and even during primetimes I’m finding some maps to be instant queue. With how long it takes to comeback from 10,000 points, it just seems people are done at this point and ready to move on to the next match.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still trying with an organized crew. And I do still have some fun battles, but the rush of battle really dies down after the first few days. Maybe I’m the only one, but it doesn’t seem to be that way.
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here’s my mesmer. Port me maybe?
I like it better this way. Just cause it doesn’t work for your little combo scheme there, now we have more control over it.
My only issue with it now is I think it should function more like a mesmer portal. As in actually port you back to where you were. Right now it works more like a blink, so if there’s any obstructions it simply puts you sort of near where you began.
It acts like a blink?! That’s just kitten. Now I won’t even be trying it
Pretty much, if you jump off any ledge after using it, it wont port you back up to that ledge. It will just put you right next to the bottom of it. Or if in WvW if you go use it then step outside it will only port you next to the walls.

I’m getting this at the catapult in diessa plateau.
Couldn’t agree more. I don’t see any severe advantage this would give in PvE, but in PvP I pretty much can’t use the hammer against any decent player that knows how to move. And it makes me sad because I really don’t particularly like greatsword, but I like 2 handers. Guess I’ll try axes or something.
It’s not a simple tactic without proper coordination. And even with it, it can be easily countered if you simply make sure to clear out the keep or tower you just claimed.
So I’m curios of people’s opinions of classes in WvW and the value of having a certain class on your side.
Personally, I think Mesmer takes the #1 spot in my book as they can single handedly be responsible for whether or not you control a point with a single ability. No other class can really do anything like that.
And if I were to pick a #2 I’d say anything that has good healing support. But I’m honestly not sure which class does that best. I know my engineer can do a pretty good job. But I’ve seen elementalists do some nice healing too.
So what would you say are the most valuable classes in WvW?
Exploit? Seriously? You get owned by something and suddenly it’s an exploit?
An exploit is taking advantage of something in the game that is not intended. A bunch of people going through a portal set by a mesmer sounds exactly as it’s intended.
It’s not like its always easy. If you’re smart, you’ll watch for the mesmer, if not. Well that’s your dang fault for not paying attention. Exploit? Please… Go cry some more.
Should probably update the description then… -.- just says 100k w/o death.
I feel like I’ve gotten way more than 100k but I can’t seem to get this achievement so I read around online and I found a few posts saying it resets upon zoning… is that true? That seems ridiculous…
Try having pistols… I’ve pretty much stopped playing my Engineer because of this because I really have no desire to get better looking weapons because they’re hardly noticeable as is. I made a post about this earlier too. My human mesmer will have to do I suppose.
We dominate SBI on almost all aspects, so yeah totally, you guys are pro at only attacking while we’re pre occupied with HoD. Good job.
Yeah they definitely don’t have an alliance.

All right now. Yeah, definitely not an alliance. Sure pugs don’t know about it, so they’ll still fight but guilds obviously have something in order.
Really? You’re trying to call it botting for tabbing in to make sure you don’t get kicked because of a long queue time…
Maybe, we don’t feel like PvE for the moment. I can enjoy it, but some nights I just feel like WvW. Who are you to dictate what I want to do? And I play on a server that I chose from the start to play with my guild. I’m not going to attempt to get all of them to transfer just because of a long WvW queue.
It’s seriously a miniscule thing, that if it’s seriously going to bother you that much for them to make a sound when queue pops, perhaps you shouldn’t queue up.
Yeah as it’s been mentioned. Auto loot in WvW should be the norm. We’re not killing NPC’s so we’re typically too busy to worry about looting.
Lot’s of times even in JQ teamspeak leaders will say teach them a lesson. It’s more in reference to when one side takes advantage of us while we’re assaulting another keep. So we say we’re going to teach them a lesson by taking our crap back.
A challenge is quite a bit different from getting facerolled. We’re getting facerolled by an exploiting #1 server. I’m sorry you guys are on a server that have been facerolled as well. This shouldn’t happen. Every once in a while for matchmaking purposes yes, but not constantly like we are getting placed up against HoD.
I’m only sick of henge, we’re ALWAYS outnumbered. It’s not even a battle. You step outside and you’re done.
It’s stupid, even now, on a friday night, everyone gives up and even stops queuing in. Nobody likes losing to sheer numbers walking out of their base to the slaughter. We have the outmanned buff right now at peak hours on a friday! It’s a joke how this server always has so many more poeple.
I’d like to enjoy WvW again, not step outside my spawn point to have a pointless slaughter of them pushing us back in there.
I love nearly everything about my Asura. It’s the first time I’ve actually played the small race in a game. But one thing that I’m finding disappointing is with how small they are, I play an engineer with pistols, and the pistols are so small, that it really doesn’t give me any desire to work on getting those better looking weapons. And honestly, even gear I find myself not caring because I’m already satisfied with the AC hat and outfit I have now… Leaving me nothing to strive for later really.
Maybe it’s the pistols fault but I really don’t think that’d change with any other weapon because it’s so much less noticable. Maybe greatsword or hammer but that’s about it.
End Sadness
I’m having an issue with my death shroud, it works fine anywhere but battlegrounds, for some reason right after I activate it I can’t do anything for a couple seconds. Instead of on the right it showing the F1 deactivate button it just shows a lock similar to what the weapon swap was before you were high enough level to use it. Eventually it works but this is becoming very crippling for me.
hmmm would it help if we get some transparency on the numbers?
like say show actual numbers of players,
for each home world server,
updated live,
say every minute:
- currently participating in WvW
- currently in queue trying to get into WvWfor example:
Henge of Deravi
500 connected
1000 queuedJade Quarry
500 connected
2000 queuedSea of Sorrows
500 connected
3000 queuedwould that help? O_O
It would help a player identify if we’re outnumbered or not. But doesn’t really help the problem. I’m sitting in 2 hour queues only to find we’re outnumbered. I shouldn’t be waiting that long with those queues if we’re outnumbered. I’ve heard there’s potentially a way to exploit it and get more people in. But I honestly don’t want to accuse people of such things. Plus I’m really not sure I buy that story. Especially with the karma item exploit and how they punished those people, I can’t imagine people being that daring now to test their fate.
I can’t say with any certainty as I cannot officially see numbers on who’s in WvW. But it really seems there are many cases, where one server is vastly out numbered. I’m speaking in reference to Henge of Deravi. I play on Jade Quarry, and we do pretty well, but somehow whenever we go up against HoD, there always seems to be a numbers issue. As they seem to have mass numbers attacking several important area’s and there’s simply no way to defend, or even go on the assault for almost anything. We try, but somehow, we’re ALWAYS out numbered. Luckily defending it’s not always about numbers. But there have been many cases where we’ll get a large organized group together and assault a keep or tower, and a huge amount come to the defense, while people in chat are still saying they have mass attacks going on elsewhere. There’s just nothing we can do to keep up.
If I’m wrong than man, it’s ridiculous how that server somehow pulls together that amount of organization at all times.
Oh, and I’d also like to mention, whenever we DO have the lead, and there’s a client update and we all have to reboot. Somehow JQ always has trouble getting back, and this has happened at least 3 times now, when we finally do get back in HoD has EVERYTHING. Before we even get back in. Just seems awfully coincidental that it always seems to works in their favor.
