SWTOR is probably the biggest MMO flop in history in terms of lost profits. They spent $200,000,000 on the game and lost half their subscribers (1.5mil) in 6 months.
What a big difference from yesterday. All SoS maps have coverage and there’s actually queues for every map.

To join a squad, click on a commander on the map and press ’Join Squad."
The way the commander option is enabled after you use the Commander’s Compendium book is to “Create squad.”
The maximum size of a commander squad is 50.
Very few commanders even use the squad features, though.
Honestly didn’t even know that.
Well, the problem now is.
#1. Servers are full 24/7 which makes getting reinforcements or new guilds difficult.
#2. Players are obviously more interested in new PvE content than WvW. I mean, you have to do it 20+ times to get the top gear so its a carrot on stick.
#3. Player activity is down overall.Tier 1 use to be slam packed ques 24/7 now they’re instant except for a few maps at peak times.
Basically #1 and #2 is going to hold you back because there’s nothing you can really do about it.

I went armor smithing. Farm hardcore and you can pump out a set quick.
I use it on cooldown. If you have that trait that refreshes on kills you can basically spam it at times. It’s great with +3 might trait as well and altruistic healing.
This is the spec. I use right now for “PvE” tanking. I wear 3 monk runes and 3 water rune for +20% boon duration (which is good all around) and +100 healing.

I shoot for +1500 healing (with +250 stacking bonus) and then stack vitality. I got about 3200 armor, 1218 healing (without +250 stack), 15.2k HP atm. I can face tank anything thrown at me.
Honestly, you can replace Purging Flames in my build for whatever you want. It’s just there as my AOE cleanse and dmg.
Lol, that was funny yesterday. SoS hit hills with golems while JQ had the exact same plan. Total coincidence, but felt like we were double teaming SBI.

Wall of Reflection, Sanctuary, Wall of Lining, Tomes, AOE stability, and all kinds of other goodies.
I honestly don’t see many guilds make full use of their guardians. When I was in Condemned we use to do Guardian rotations on choke points to the point that NOBODY could get through. :O
1 week is about right. I mean, let’s be honest one server usually has a massive lead by the 5th day to the point they can not do WvW at all for2 days and still win.
Only way to balance it out would be to the cut the points per cap in half.
I haven’t sat in a Q on SBI for over three weeks. Admittedly, however, I never Q up for EB and rarely for our home battleground.
Instant every single click, with most of those being prime-time EST.
Additionally— I’ve seen the outmanned buff on JQ, and I’ve had the outmanned buff several times this weekend. I’ve -never- seen the outmanned buff on SoS. (Though again, I think most of my time has been on the SOS BG).
I’m not sure if people quit or moved on to other servers. I remember when all Tier 1 servers had 1 hour++ queues.
As have I. What I was doing was merely correcting your assertion that SoS is the server that has the lowest coverage in T1 — especially considering it is likely the opposite.
SoS didn’t have full map coverage in T2 either. To be honest the only server that every had FULL 24/7 map coverage was HoD when TA was roaming around, but that was because there was like 20 guilds on there.

That’s such a weak cop-out. Go all in during the ‘holiday/event week’ then expect to be taken seriously if you decide to relax the week after, when the other two servers get off their break.
Sounds like poor decision making being made by SoS to me. There are no breaks in T1, it’s week after week. If you can’t commit one week because you decided to go ‘all in’ the previous week, you may want to consider reviewing your decisions.
The weekend has just ended, there’s no excuse to be pulling the ‘next week’ card already. You can still come back and win, there’s no reason you can’t other than your own servers motivation (or lack of) to do so. Giving up now is basically admitting that you bit off more than you could chew.
It’s not about skill, but who has the best coverage.
JQ has their home map fully conquered at the moment which clearly means SBI and SoS don’t have any players on that map.
SoS is the only Tier 1 server I’ve actually been on that has instant queues. When I was on JQ and SBI they were over an hour.

No SoS (or JQ) coverage on that SBI map is what’s hurting right now.
WoW is still the same game I played back in 05 and the best memories I had were from Vanilla and Burning Crusade. Nothing was as epic as leveling my first time in WoW and only Dragon Age Origins felt as amazing when you beat it.
SWTOR was a good game, but after 6 months it just became stale even though it had probably the most fun and fast paced PvP of any MMO I’ve played.
I’m just wondering how long GW2 will survive. You can only grind the same dungeons and do WvW for so long.
They already lock the servers by being full, but then it causes frustrations when new players want to play with their friends.
GW2 marketed itself by taking out everything everyone hated from WoW and SWTOR and putting it into this game.
Notice how the game came out with free transfers? SWTOR’s lack of transfers is part of the reason that MMO flopped.
I play a toughness/healing Guardian and if people let you get your mace symbols down you can sit there and heal through them almost indefinitely. The only stat you really give up is precision and crit damage because all your gear is stacked with power.
Thiefs are manageable in sPvP, but in WvW you can’t see them because of culling issues.
If I remember Altruistic Healing heals for like 50-70 for each boon proc.
Toughness should mitigate more damage. Even @ 3100 armor I’m still getting crit for over 6,000+ by numerous classes using physical attacks.
Siege weapons in WvW don’t even hit me that hard.
sPvP’s lack of requiring tactics and different game modes is its biggest problem right now. It’s just running around in a circle zerging people for points.
SWTOR had probably the best 8v8 system of any MMO I’ve played. Each map was a different game mode and you had to use a lot of tactics and luck to actually win matches and it was usually very satisfying beating another organized group especially if they knew what they were doing. Some of those matches were so close I would be shaking.
sPvP doesn’t even get my adrenaline pumping and that’s why I don’t play it.

If you’re losing to Warriors because of hundred blades, you must be really bad at PvP.
An ability that requires build up and CC is not an over powered ability…
move away, save your dodge for it… get some stun breakers..
stop being a noob… it’s the easiest skill in the game to avoid.
That’s the annoying part about people trying to justify this kind of stuff. They’re assume it’s a clean 1v1, but in reality somebody can sneak up behind you or you’re being cc spammed.
This isn’t a paper game where everything matches perfectly.
Warriors right now hit too hard. I’ve been crit for 9.4k dmg by a Warrior using Kill Shot with 3100 armor and that would be much higher on somebody with 2k armor. Hundred Blade frenzies are around every corner.
It’s not a problem with HB, but with haste in PvP at the moment. You should see what hasted Elementalist AOE’s can do.
SBI (looks like Rage guild because they were waiting for us to come back) exploited Redbriar Tower about 10 minutes ago on JQ map.
The staff actually handles pretty well after the recent fix to the Orbs. It makes hitting targets on the run much easier.
Wall of Reflection is just beasty in WvW though. Dump it in front of the door all the enemy ranged is pounding on and watch the numbers fly all over the place on your screen.
Honestly, our only “real” ranged weapon is Wall of Reflection.
A lot of misinformation being dumped in here. Healing power is an effective stat to be stacked, but really you don’t want to go more than 1200 (excluding food + stacking healing bonus). I had 1500 healing, but I’ve shaved off 300 healing for about 2,000 more HP.
In my current build my Mace regen’s about 5,000~ health over its duration every time I drop it on the ground. For PvE I can face tank every boss, including the new dungeon, and as long as my group stays around me I can keep them alive with guarantee.
For WvW you’re basically the ultimate support class if you roll out the right abilities, but you’re far from being invincible if you’re being gang banged. Yet, I’m still ten times more survivable than on my Mesmer and Guardian. I rarely have to push the big heal button because my own heals keep me up well enough.
You aren’t a real “healer”, but you’re more like a Paladin. Healing gear has high toughness which in turn makes you “tanky.” So if you like being a tank, a healer, and a a semi-DPS than support may be your role.
Also, you CAN and I DO kill people 1v1 all the time (even killed bad players 3v1 a couple of times) because you can outlast them with your self healing.

Because you are horrible, simply put.
tldr; didn’t read other stuff. Pulling out the “you’re bad l2play card” is the oldest trick in the book to pad yourself on the shoulder.
I’m just proving the point that even the highest armored classes in game can still be crit for ridiculous amounts by warriors so the “get more defenses” notion is pointless.
It’s perfectly human not to want to get your class nerfed, but thank God we have developers make our games and not players.
It’s not that Warriors are unbalanced, but really a small combination of skills are too good. Hundred Blades on my Warrior is annoying to use because of its long cast, but add in your own Stun, double attack speed, and or your buddies spamming roots/slows/ccs it turns into a chainsaw because you can Whirlwind and Bladetrail immediately after for extremely high amounts of burst.
I don’t know what the deal is with Killshot though. Adrenaline isn’t hard to build so I don’t understand why it has to hit so hard. It’s probably the hardest hitting ability in game right now.

JQ and SBI weren’t able to handle TA at its prime, so how are they supposed to handle the same guilds that helped make TA as successful when they couldn’t handle them in the first place?
I joined Condemned two weeks after the game came out without a single clue what WvW really was after being asked to join by an old friend from SWTOR. The amount of coordination on HoD was leagues beyond what SoS is today.
Basically you guys in Tier 1 got a vacation.

I mean, come on. I have 3173 armor and I got crit for 9493 damage by Killshot in WvW. This is probably a 15k crit on a light armor. If warriors can hit that hard on the highest armored classes than how is that ability balanced?
I’m also tired of the billion warriors running around frenzied Hundred Blading + Blade Trail for 12k~ damage in 1.75s on my 3k armor. Yeah, give me ten billions reasons how you can dodge it so you can justify the ridiculous amount of damage being thrown out by warriors right now.
So coming from somebody who has the highest defenses in game — warriors hit too hard. They nerfed the 8k++ backstab crits, why not this crap already?

Is it possible to transmute cultural armors on different races?
They last an hour and they’re gone before you even know.
Exotics are just something for you to work towards. They aren’t that big of an upgrade over Rares.
And now they are a useless step on the way from Rare to maxed stat gear.

It’s not power creep if you go up like 20 stats every couple of weeks.
Power creep right now is the amount of burst damage people are able to put out because of broken abilities / builds. Warriors can use haste + Hundred Blades + other abilities on you and dump out 10,000++ damage in 2 seconds.
I honestly don’t think SoS has the numbers right now to fight in tier 1. The servers “full” but we have 2 maps that are hit or miss on how many players are in it plus the one PRX roams on is always instant queue. EB is the only one with any queue.
Portalling is powerful, but not many people actually use it.
SOR was doing very good last night @ 5 PM EST. They were up +450 and controlled 2 maps.
Video game developers work hand and hand with hardware developers. They constantly push the requirements of games in order to get you out there to buy new computer upgrades. Graphics have wanned down quite a bit over the last two years because I remember every year I had to buy a new video card, but now the same video card I got 2 years ago is still high end.
I got an i5 @ 4 ghz and a HD 6950 2gb and I run game max settings except for the shader setting (it murders my fps on supershader, but runs fine on middle setting) and I get 30-60 FPS in mass WvW PvP.
SoS looks like its going to be bumped up to Tier 1 next week.
IOJ had a strong presence when WvW reset and on Saturday, but they’ve waned off a lot.
Loot bags are really the only thing keeping you from going broke in WvW.
sPvP is severely lacking in both fun and depth. It is probably one of the most forgotten aspects of this game.
It’s a waste most of the time to tie people down to defending camps. You can have those people form a roaming party instead and have them go camp to camp retaking or defending when needed.
I play support so I don’t get many kills.
I love when Warrior’s blow haste and use Hundred Blades on me for 10k dmg in 1s.
