We have a toolbelt skill as well, sure. But we shouldn’t pay a price for our class mechanic – thus our utilities themselves shouldn’t be worse than other classes’ ones.Signet of Agility: Passive precision, refills endurance, cures one condition.
Elixir R: Revives players (oneself included), refills endurance, cures all conditions.Also note that Elixir R gives you these abilities between 2 different skills, meaning you don’t have to worry about refilling your endurance and then not having a way to cure conditions 5 seconds later. I really don’t see how you can claim that there’s a difference in usefulness between these two skills. Not to mention Engineers aren’t Thieves. These classes play differently and their skills should be treated differently.
Just to point out aswell that precision on the signet is like 13-15% crit chance…or was last i checked.
Honestly seemed more like an advert for guardian survival and boons…
Option to hide would be nice.
Truth is a decently done mortar would likely be overpowered, it is a complete failure at the moment and would be better replaced with another option.
Mortar is an artillery piece – Artillery is a weapon of war that operates by projection of munitions far beyond the effective range of personal weapons.
Its like having a jet fighter that can’t fly or a tank without armor.

According to the problem with FT: Actually, he burns enemies down. Why do this have to be happened through burning condition? Flames should do damage, right? Yes and this game represents the damage of flames with?!: damage. Where is the lack of logic? Flame trap from ranger works similar as far as I remember. Flames are not only burning. It’s hard damage at the moment when hit. And it is lower damage after that for a short delay. That’s exactly what FT does.

No. But you still got “damage” from this flame. In fact, most damage taken by flames is not by burning. So this problem is just a problem for you because u do have a strange imagination about flames.

No. If a flamethrower starts his flames against u, there is only a little bit “burning” on yourself, and a little bit damage by this burning compared to the heat of the flame which deals great damage without even set u up in fire. Again, your imagination of a flamethrower seems a bit kittened (no I don’t mean the bad word kittened, I mean the real meaning of kittened, sorry). Flamethrowers are primarily not used to burn things, but to heat things up dramasticly for damage – burning is just subsidiary.
So it seems like devs indeed know how a flamethrower works, but u don’t.

He is not saying engineer is weak/
He is not complaining there are no viable builds
He is not complaining about the balance of the game
He is saying that there is no sense in the engineering kits as they do not do what they do in real life.
Example -
Average man can throw a grenade 40 meters.
The 8 cm Granatwerfer 34 (8 cm GrW 34) German medium mortar in WW2 fired 2400 meters.
So the mortar fires 60 times as far as a man can throw, yet in guild wars they are the same. There is a clear lack of logic in that but OMG HGH build is awesome! That changes everything! sorry!
I have 4/8 80’s and am slowly working my way through the classes, trying to find builds that I like, mostly for use in WvW.
I would love to run a bomb kit Engie in WvW, but the fuse just seems to render it difficult to do. People move around far too much for them to be effective. (I can see it working in PvE where mob paths are predictable).
Have the devs made any hint they might take out the fuse to make bomb builds more viable inWvW? (Or are they viable in WvW and I’m just missing it?)
I am having the same problem..people move around too much and they end up being more trouble than they are worth.
Large damage on shatter? So i am guessing bunker builds like the chaos boon support tank my protection build (916 power btw) and pyros immortal build just burst for insane amounts every shatter no matter what? We we have 3 reliable escape mechanisms (Phase Retretat/Blink/Decoy) and rarely in a tournament setting will you see mesmers with all three. And minion mancers+engi supply crate are 10x worse on the midpoint fight at the start of the match for clutter than any mesmer could do on their own (actually minion mancer is worse to begin with). Edit: And to say that they confuse IRL is kinda sad. Any good player that has a sense of NPC movement will tell you how easy mesmer is to spot.
Stupid arguement. If it was a duel sure you can pick out the mesmer fairly easy. Its not a duel, there are a lot of other things going on aswell as other minions and people running around. However you will tell me that you can find 1 in 4 and track the movement instantly? despite the fact he can stealth your saying you can stay on him like you would a warrior. Thief mechanics are very predictable hes gone into stealth he will reappear in 3 seconds and either attack you or run depending on the situation.
Suppy drop is fairly mediocre. I don’t know why you would complain about that. Polymorph someone for 10 seconds making them completely useless is however OP.
The thing is all mesmer summons were previously nerfed as far as CD is concerned because EVERY MESMER BUILD TOOK ICELERITY! We accepted those nerfs because we had the trait to compensate now only shatter mesmers have the trait…
Also the retal part is because blurred frenzy is wait for it… CLEAVING! Also mindwrack has an AOE radius so anyone in the target area that has retal up hits the mesmer again so any guardian on a point with stand your ground can make mesmers have an uber bad day now that we are no longer immune to retal. And we also have NO evades outside of that (we can still be feared during phase retreat and are still targetable when we blink) the utility that shatter combo requires is usually mirror images (if the mesmer is 20/20/0/0/30) because it is preceeded by diversion and must be immediately followed by mindwrack to be effective there for it requires at least one uitility skill to be effective and the use of a stun break.The blurred frenzy nerf is significant because mesmers (GC) don’t have the condi clearing (that’s right GC warr vs GC mes the warr has better condi cleanse) high armor or mobility (kinda like you have charge/Whirlwhind etc) to escape once they are pinned down. Keep in mind that now that iZerker is fixed most mesmers are giving up the staff for the GS which has ZERO escape mechanisms….

I am disagreeing with you that all 7 classes should be “dumbed down” to make the warrior viable. That is just silly.
Mesmer will always be stupidly strong strong due to huge amount of escape mechanics, large damage on shatter and more importantly they use something no other class in the game can. What is that? they confuse IRL, constantly switching positions with clones that move erratically because they do different things and possible are on different targets. If there’s other people around and all the other pets and minions it becomes very hard to keep track of the mesmer and they become stupidly OP. Its basically the same principle as putting a dice under a cup and having 4 cups and mixing them around.
Its like they attack the player directly…equivalant of blind making your screen go black.
