I don’t think you have to deposit all that gold at once. It can be gradual and over time.
Make sure you ask permission to withdraw that much gold from your guild.
I doubt that anything will happen to you immediately if they did have such a program to check large sums of gold being transferred. Even if they did, they would flag you and if you get more flags of being a gold seller or buying gold externally, then they may decide to ban you. But as an one-time thing, you shouldn’t worry.
If it’s not a problem in the first place, why would they? Be useful to know why you suggest something to judge whether it’s a reasonable suggestion.
I’ll assume it’s because you don’t like the ‘vacant minded’ using up all the virtual oxygen.
Hmm, considering your analogy. Consider this:
There are not just two students are in the room. There are 1000s of students in the room. The teacher is trying to teach to the class to those who just want to listen and get on with it. At the same time, the teacher tries to make new learning material to make the lessons interesting. At the same time, there are students who have broken pens and missing pages from their books, in which the teacher needs to resupply if they can. At the same time, there are students questioning the teacher’s methods and demanding that their tuition gives them the right to choose the course subject. On the other hand, there are students who are questioning the teacher’s methods but are offering suggestions with constructive feedback on how to improve the course subject. Then there are the others who are generally blabbering about other stuff with each other, gossiping and speculating about everything and anything.
Imagine all this in the same room. Imagine the teacher stopping the lesson and stopping the creation of new material to actually listen to each and every students’ arguments or suggestions. Can he just say, “Yes that’s right” without the opposite student saying “Hold on, please explain!?”? He would need to go into detail. He would need time to construct a statement in which the students cannot misinterpret. More importantly it has to be on topic of the course subject. Also can you imagine that this teacher is actually a teacher assistant and is not allowed to make statements that could be picked up, chewed and recreated into any interpretation, but instead he needs to consult the headmaster and have team meetings with other teachers to confer. This also takes time.
What the teacher does:
a) teach the lesson continuously
b) create new learning material
c) ensure that the students have working pens and complete books.
d) listen to the many students, to consider and understand the students, to argue/agree about the students’ ideas(can be longer if no middle ground is found) , to confer with colleagues about the ideas, to agree what actions can be taken, to test new material, to convey appropriately to the students the new material, to teach the new material continuously.
TL:DR – Communicating back to the players is a variable task. Any response, big or small can cause further discussion needed to be made and even more speculation. We may have time to read/write through forum posts and speculate but they might not. They will be juggling many tasks and the most important, take priority. Not saying the customer is not important but to keep things going, they need to focus their time appropriately. Forum responding is time-consuming as well as the time needed to re-iterate the points due to the mass of people demanding an answer.
Consider the forums in a suggestion box style. They only read it when they can. They aren’t ignoring it. They note down the key points and try to include it as they keep the game going, but rarely do they have the time to reply.

Well, I think a constructive thing to do is to get screenshots and information such as server, PvP map, your system specs, your OS etc. Then use the personal support to submit the screenshots as attachments.
They would want to replicate this ‘bug’ using your information and then they will be able to figure it out a solution.
If resetting your client or waiting a day or two doesn’t revert it back. Then yes, report it as a bug. They will investigate the issue and see your character logs for things you purchased with karma. It might have been caused by the recent update, in which they need to know more about it before they are able to fix widescale.
I doubt they can attack you with stealth constantly on. It might seem so since you die quickly to backstab thieves but that’s a different topic.
Are you talking about them constantly entering stealth?
Or you cannot see them literally due to graphics or culling etc?
I think this is useful for those who wish to create names with these accents in. However, if you find people who you want to whisper or party with and they have an accented names, then:
If they have spoken in chat:
Right-click their name in the chat log and click whisper/party.
If they are running around in your visible radius but haven’t spoken:
Click on the character, right-click their portrait (their face) and click whisper/party.
If those fail, then you would have to resort to using accents yourself and typing in manually.
Although, if they aren’t in chat or the vicinity, I don’t see how else they interact with you. If they are from the forums, tell them to pm you first. That might be easier.
To be honest, I will refuse to even try to add people through typing especially if their name is hard to type. (names with accents or names like bjgbjhbhhbggh)
This NPC is not the actual heart person but is standing nearby. You also need to chat through the options to bring up the option of giving the hunks of meat.
They don’t want to over-complicate the description. Any specifications will be scrutinised and penalised to an extent where people will argue the effectiveness of the skills to the second.
They may however decide to introduce this later, where it says for example…
Forceful Greatsword: Gain might (1…5 sec) on critical hit with a greatsword or spear (0 …3 sec cooldown). Greatsword and spear skill recharge 20% faster.
That’s a style they had in GW1 but since this is GW2 and since they have put the concise description as default, who knows.
Also, you have a valid suggestion but your bottom line is unhelpful and pointless for them, since they won’t know what you are talking about. How is it bugged? If it is bugged, have you reported it in the right section.
I believe that if you are in the loot’s radius and the turret’s radius, the loot takes priority over the turret such that the first ‘F’ is to pick up the loot and the second ‘F’ at the same spot, picks up the turret. So my engineer doesn’t seem to have much of a problem with this. It’s just a bit fiddly.
In terms of Auto-Loot, I don’t think it is necessary, just a convenience. Not that I mind either way. And having it optional is ideal for when you are lacking space, and need to pick selectively.
It would be a nice feature. No one would deny that it will increase the popularity. However, can you imagine that every player has a minipet, effectively doubling the movement calculation the server has to do. Causing lag and “culling” problems.
You will then have people arguing about putting them away for lag’s sake.
A counter to this is to limit the amount of minis allowed to be shown in an area.
I can see some convenience in larger radius to see events but this or a zone-wide increase could get overwhelming. Especially when there are many dynamic events that are running and uncomplete. Also with the ability to see all the dynamic events in the area, players will be selective and choose to farm the easiest first for their dailies, xp, karma etc instead of being spontaneous to help if they can.
What I think is more appropriate is having a towncrier in each town that if a dynamic event has been running without completion or activity for xx amount of time, then when you go to the towncriers, they will list them and possibly give a bit of background to them. Like those NPCs who run up to you to inform you of a nearby event.
Through all of that, I don’t see a suggestion.
I see you have a hatred for Tetris. And somehow you linked a single player puzzle game on a handheld to this MMO game. I rather be playing GW2 than Tetris, so that must mean GW2 is better than Tetris, meaning GW2 is not like Tetris. So your point is not right, in my mind.
Oh well, it’s your opinion, as this is mine.

Back to topic:
Since you were in WvW, I’m not sure if you can survive a lot in there without getting zerged. Also falling to your death resets the timer.
Personally, I don’t think you should worry about this one. It’s a lifetime survivor. Being a high level, it is quite easy to get experience. I’m not sure if the bug of zoning out/logging out still exists or not. It’s been quite a while so it might have been fixed.
So my advice is to just leave it. If it’s not bugged and works even if you log out, then if you play sensibly on your high level/do dailies, then that should be done soon enough. Otherwise, if there are still problems, wait for official update notes saying they have fixed any bugs to the survivor track or wait for them to implement the xp counter command on /deaths and see progression through that (of which you can report the bug with evidence).
Is there a problem playing out My Story first at this point? When my story finishes do you get credits and then end up back in the game to finish up whatever else you want to do?
Yes, I believe you will get credits and you are able to return to any other gameplay elements mentioned by the others. By completing the personal story, it does not mean it will end there. So you can complete things in any order.
The items you receive from your personal story will always be based on the level recommendation of that particular part of the story. So you shouldn’t expect useful items from them until the very end (since you are already lvl 80).

I think I’ve seen this actually in game.
Although I’ve only seen in on Thief. They call it “Offhand light”, where you don’t have an offhand and it gives you different weapon skills. I’m not sure if this is applicable to the other professions. Maybe it should.
Increasing drops for solo players also increases the desire to play solo.
“If I can do this event by myself and get quite good loot without the hassle of finding others to join me, what is the point of me bother finding other people? My time is best spent alone.”
I don’t think they want this. They should however focus on creating interest back into those areas with a different alternative to reaching those financial goals.
Can you get your plastic surgeon to change your name after a sex change?
Nope, it’s a separate service.
A point to consider is that here might be issues with name changing that they need to discuss and resolve before releasing it. Like bots who earn enough gold to gems to change their name to avoid tracking, causing bot reports to become obsolete.
I do agree that having a name that contradicts your gender does suck. They will probably have a name-changer next, stand-alone or if you’re lucky as a complete package.
Cosmetics can be costly and you might have serious side effects!
Your own personal health is more important. Even if you feel you need to be there, if you feel you’re struggling then this could affect your career as well as your game. In military terms, have some R&R.
If not, arrange it so that your guild or sub-guild or other WvW guild can do it in shifts. So that you don’t have such a demanding schedule.
War does not have a break. Not in these worlds.
I like this. However, I agree that it might be too good.
Also with a greater range, you would need to balance out the movement speed and skill speed to be slower. Otherwise you would be able to kite most melee mobs easily without much problem.
The only two I think that could be added without conflicts of interest is the Dancing Star and My Best Friend ones. They don’t involve gold spending or earning and are purely for fun.
I think it’s because they are social media websites. They have more exposure to more people, current gamers, potential gamers and journalist/bloggers. Whereas forums are the current gamers only. I’m not saying current gamers should be regarded last but it’s faster and easier for them to do it this way.
I did it once. I think it has to be a direct hit but most of the time it misses totally or near-hits. They should put a marker on the floor or a shadow as it gets closer. As it is, I would just ignore this method of progression from now on.
It’s not easy!
Isn’t that the one that increases the longer a given enemy has been alive in the world? So killing something that just spawned will be 0 (or close to it), killing something that has been around for a long time will give you a bigger bonus?
Yep that’s right. You notice you will get substantial exploration bonus from killing non-hostile mobs since they are most likely to be ignored.
I agree, I got a “Bag of Gold” in a dungeon and it gave me 6 copper.
Also “Bag of Loot” is probably taken for those bags with materials and such.
On a side note, I got a “Bag of Gems” and actually thought these were gems that could be used in the store. But it was crafting gems. There is ambiguity in that name.
Some of their content events would have been planned long beforehand. And to them, the events were a must, to demonstrate to this relatively new community that their ideas are not limited to the box game.
They don’t ignore the community just to push new content all the time. But they have set themselves projects and set themselves goals to complete, whether it is new content or fixing old content.
There is so much feedback and suggestions which is great. However, we shouldn’t expect them to drop all their current projects over these unless is was absolutely crucial to fix an devastating exploit or bug. They read the player’s opinions, they weigh it in their minds and think of the implications it has on their workload, the game itself and the players as a whole. If an idea or suggestion seems to do right in all those areas, then they would need to set it a priority, allocate time to it, code it, test it repeatedly before putting into one of the content updates. This takes time.
Expecting any sort of problem to get fixed so immediately, can cause people to feel ignored, but quite frankly, they are doing the best they can. What company would want to lose their players? What company wants to be known for a broken game? What company wants to be so taxed that they feel unmotivated to do their best?
Not ANet. We should wait and hope.
so for you this “You cannot log out while in combat” will not allow you to do this anymore? your client has nothing to do with “combat mode”,
how do u want to catch elementalist (2 skills and you cant even touch him with 1200 skills) or dagger ( 5 sec hide and u dont know where is he, still here or maybe he used WP) ?
What is your suggestion about alt+F4 players? I thought you wanted them to get a message and stop them from closing the program using this shortcut.
There are skills that daze/stun the enemy. Cripple them, they won’t run far in their invisibility. Poison them to keep damage on them whilst they are hiding. Their “combat time” will be renewed by each pulse of poison.
If you fail to hit or damage the enemy, then I’d say they have succeeded in evading/escaping you. Annoying maybe. But even if they WP, then they are away from you. So what does it matter. If they return then adapt/change your skills or ignore them. As I see it, they are successfully distracting you from helping your side of the battle.
In the end, combat time works.. you just need to make it work for you.
I don’t feel too troubled about this one.
Just a counter-response to OP’s suggestion of replacing it with “level X times” or “gain X experience”:
-Leveling can take considerably longer than killing 15 varieties.
-Gaining experience will favour the higher level characters who get more experience sum through dynamic events and kills in general, compared to a new character.
I like the variety kills because it doesn’t necessary take that long and that any character has equal chance of doing it.
Reimbursement of lost items can be exploitative. It could also make players less responsible.
Allowing friends (of whom you communicate outside of the game) to go into your account and take all your stuff and “imitate” a hacker. So that they gain your items or gold and you will get reimbursed. Effectively duping the items.
Providing a reimbursement policy (where the appeal is accepted) gives the players reason to be less careful about account security because they believe that if they get hacked, everything is fine since they can get their items back. This shouldn’t be encouraged.
If however, ANet gets hacked and account information is leaked in which causes those hackers to have access to player accounts, then I guess they should re-imburse or reset.
I would hate increased combat time in PvE, a skelk (who disappears and appears next to you most of the time) as an extreme example snags you as you’re running past places you’ve been before or you are trying to get to a dynamic event. Or how about when you a running away from a bunch of Risen, it may be the case that by the time you recover from combat time, their snare is ready for use again. Combat time, slows your character movement speed and having this aspect increased would be annoying for most people rather than a convenience.
I’m guessing you are frustrated by people disappearing off when you are trying to kill them in PvP/WvW, so perhaps they can increase it in those. However, if you fail to snag them because they have evasive skills or speed. Then perhaps you should bring a snare or a speed boost yourself to catch them and keep them in combat. I don’t see a problem with this.
Alt+F4 is not equivalent to logging off. Although it seems so, what if their client crashes but cannot close the program because of a message they cannot see. Alt+F4 is out of game control so Anet shouldn’t prevent players from using it.
More crafting collection space? I’m glad that they didn’t force us to use bank space. I’m also glad that I can ‘Deposit All Collectibles’. But I don’t think they should raise the limit because some people can be overhoarding materials which may allow them to play with the Black Lion Trading company prices.
Whilst I understand your issue and this is about major divisions of playing style. There are some PvE aspects that have been put into WvW so it’s not entirely two separate divisions. WvW is like the distant uncle of PvE who likes to be drunk and rowdy. Even though some people don’t like him, he is still part of the family.
I wouldn’t mind a WvW daily and monthly. Even though it will tax the time of those who are just too OCD to ignore it.
If your argument is successful, I can imagine people who hate festive events would want the Monthly’s to exclude it. Also those who hate surviving would want the Survivor out of monthly’s because it is simply not fun for them to survive. Is there argument there? Where does it stop? Segregation can be horrid sometimes even if it looks reasonable.

Well, I was expecting this to be the typical “We need mounts to move faster!” post. But instead it’s a nice idea. I’d say it’s more like caravan than a mount.
On a similar style to the caravan escort events where they go from one outpost to another, however you are just taking a ride. I guess you are allowed to ride for a fee based on the dangers along the path or spend karma. Also, if the “caravan” is attacked, you can help defend it. If not, it dies and you have to walk to your destination.
So essentially you can level your character with another character’s surplus skill points?
I doubt it would ever be made but for the sake of discussion. 2 skill points is way too cheap per level. So if this ever becomes a possibility, maybe have it so that it scales to the level you want to “skip”.
For example:
You would need 80 skill points to level a lvl 79 to lvl 80.
You would need 50 skills points to level a lvl 49 to lvl 50.
Also you can only use this method if the character “skipping levels” is above level 10.
ANet, for the love of fuzzy kittens, please make different icons for Copper, Iron et caetera Axes, Picks and Sickles!
Ahh I see, you meant Copper Axes, Picks etc. Iron Axes, Picks etc.
Sorry got confused by your listing. In that case, I agree with you 100%
I think Group Events should stay the same.
They do provide your normal scaled xp, karma, money reward. It’s more realistic that a single person cannot complete these easily.
However for champions that are unmarked
I think they should have double xp or a karma reward. And maybe a pot of gold that is shared by all the contributers to the fight. The sum of which is based on the difficulty of the Champion, since the champions don’t get scaled by the number of players fighting them. Alternatively, give a temporary buff such as +5% Karma for 5 minutes or in case of the trolls: +5% damage to trolls for 10 mins.
Or possibly as a separate idea, is to have a bounty list. This list will have each champion on the area map, where you hunt each one down. And get rewarded based on who you help kill.
(edited by Culwenimos.1594)
I agree that tools of different grades should have different icons.
The Copper, Iron etc icons do have different icons. Unless you mean on the map? Which I would disagree. They already give the name of the resource when you hover over it, it would have made sense to just say “Mining Node” instead and have the player ‘discover’ what ore it is. That way it means people are more inclined to investigate, rather than disregard it immediately if it wasn’t a Rich Node or if the Node was not worthwhile.
I don’t understand how increasing the drop rate of keys helps with people getting their first exotic. I assume you mean Black Lion Chest Keys. It also means those who have got exotics will also get this increased rate, so it will stay the same.
Also quitting because you haven’t got an exotic when someone else has seems silly.
It shows you the maximum achieved.
They should bring back the “###### Xp gained since your last death” that they had in GW1. Where you typed /death it not only gave number of deaths but xp gained since death as well.
Actually, yeh they could just turn it off.
I think multiple guilds is still good for the guild member as they can represent a guild that has more people online. And plus they can join specific orientated guilds joining a) a guild that has all their old friends in, b) a dungeon-specialist guild c) pvp specialist d) wvw specialist guild.
I’d rather have this system than the last one even if it does inflate roster size. It just needs a better way of communication.
I was also thinking on the lines of this.
1. Considering your idea – Broadcasting
I don’t think it’s reasonable for anyone who is not representing but are in one of your guilds to receive this ‘broadcast’. It may be the case where they don’t really want to deal with that guild and stopped representing for a break.
I don’t think it should be a separate chat channel but built within the chat. Such that you have an option to toggle it on and off. E.g what you can do to emotes and combat stats. So if someone is spamming then you can just turn it off. Or alternatively, have a ‘block broadcaster temporary’ option by right-clicking their name.
2. An alternative idea – Listening
This would be to have an option to open guild chat from all the guilds you belong to. So that you can hear everything from all four guilds for example. This can be switched on and off or automatically turned on when you switch your status to ‘LFG’. This way it’s like being in all four guilds at the same time.
“How do you who’s talking from which guild?” – When you have this “Listening” function on, whenever anyone from the guilds you a representing speaks, they have their guild tag appended to their name, so you know exactly who’s speaking. If too many guilds are speaking and it confuses you, you can filter which guilds to “listen” to.
HOWEVER, you can only represent a single guild AND you can only speak to the guild you are representing. This way, if you have conversations with a guildie who wants to party up, it won’t look like half a conversation to other guilds you aren’t representing. So pming that person would be ideal or changing your representation.
3. A mix of both the two ideas above.
People can broadcast as mentioned above.
People can listen as mentioned above.
Whenever a guildie sets themselves to “LFG”, they can also see any broadcasting from any of the guild they are belong to regardless to who they are representing.
4. They should bring back alliances
and alliance chat
I think that the since there is demand for space(because of the lack of it) and character slots(with most people buying 3 extra immediately as to have one of each profession), and the fact that there are people who are actually buying them at those prices. They have no incentive to sell them cheaper. If however, they realise or discover that the sale of those things becoming stagnant or non-existent, they will reduce the price or make a sale to encourage sales.
What you suggest is them going from Stage 1 to Stage 2 sooner. But realistically, they want to stay in Stage 1 for as long as they can.
I doubt any time soon. In the future, once the the game has matured a bit more and all the important stuff is dealt with. If this comes out before the important stuff, there would be resentment by some because this is a luxury feature.
I think they would do it at 800 gems based on what they did for GW1, but who knows.
Combos are never bad. Usually they are spontaneous. Only if the combo field belongs to an enemy would be a time to worry.
I think the combo effect is defined by the combo field and the combo finisher. Eg. Any projectile through a field will always be the same but a blast finisher might produce something different.
To the OP, in terms of events in the past. There was a festive event (Halloween) and a one-time event (Lost Shores). Halloween was quite a success with different activities to do and an infamous jumping puzzle that made people mad. The Lost Shores Event was an one-time event that involved the invasion of Lions Arch and the fight against the Karka (a crab-like species). That event was seen with mixed opinion.
It’s usually more fun to do it other people, Guildies or public. They can help you through the path, pick you up and if needed kill a hard foe that you usually find near the chests.
In this case, beware of the veteran ooze!
FYI: they send an e-mail telling you this as well.
Nothing exciting though.
“Sponsor a Moa today! Every day it will spawn an egg for you.”
But riding it is so cruel and strictly prohibited.
Yep, sounds like a good idea. Like a collectibles tab in the pvp locker.
In terms of partying up, you can join a guild together or add their character directly to your friends list. [Y] on keyboard to access friend’s list. Adding them will tell you the area/story/dungeon they are in. Also chatting to them will help you in where you both can play together.
To join their party, right-click their name in your friend’s list or guild roster and invite to party.
Sparring is not implemented in this game. It might be in the future, it has been mentioned before about buying servers to play against friends.
How about BiS? I just saw that in another post.
