Last nights fractals went very, it had a great turn out. I do not think anyone got a fractal weapon this time but that is unfortunate.

I would like Ranks from WvW, or a similar different idea, to be in PvE. PvE has many fun activities and for me I think having a ranking system would help a lot. It is progression without the gear grind. If I am rank 100 in WvW, you see a name and know ruffly how much time I have spent there. So why not add a system like this for PvE?

I see it as wouldn’t it be nice to get some “PvEexp”? (not levels, as skill points are useless and who cares about leveling once you hit 80) for doing all those activities you enjoy? PvP even has this with it’s glory, letting them unlock skins, however for PvE I think a system which better showed off what you did the most would be fun. Something like, if you go around Orr a lot, a rank or something that displayed to others how much time you have spent doing that. Or maybe a more simple rank system like that one in WvW where time spent in the game no matter what you do, gives you ranks and titles and names to go with it. If someone had spent 1000 hours in a dungeon he/she would have the same name as the other guy who only farmed champs; but as long as they both spent about the same amount of time and earned about the same exp they could display that rank or name to show off what they achieved.

Just something I thought about today and wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this? Maybe you hate the idea of ranks, letting others know you have spent such little time in the game? It could have effects such as when forming dungeons groups out side of a guild, but on the other hand we sort of have this with achievement points don’t we? Yet WvW has achievement points and ranks, so maybe there is room for both?

Dragon Jade Weapon vendor gone?

There is a vendor near the BLTP and he sells most of the weapon sets that have come out. Just a sort while ago I think they sold Dragon Jade weapons, so if you still had a ticket you could claim it at any point: however now they are not sold by the vendor and the only place to get them is from other players on the TP. Making any remaining jade tickets worthless.

Please do correct me if I am wrong, as I would like to use some of my Jade tickets I have left.

She need to go, they took a year to show her off and now we know who she is know one cares.

They need to get back to dragons and make the fight between them and my character a personal one. Scarlet is the second worst villain, Zhaitan being worse as he was Trahearne’s!

LS story is weak and slow. That said, finally dungeons! They have remembered they exist, which means they should be updated. Now I do not want Scarlet in all the dungeons, but I never do TA as it sucks so they can not make it worse. Also the F&F dungeon was great, so as long as they follow that sort of idea then they can not go wrong.

I just hope this is permanent content and not some story mission for two weeks.

Motives are important and Scarlet has one but it is not a great one. She means to get us to fight the Dragons? We already are. Or the inquest? Same! Nightmare? Yea done! So after she can rule or influence? I do not see why she is needed at all or how my character would care what she is doing next. As far as I can tell she is nuts and there is no reason to it, so if the villain is evil but a crazy evil then how do we stop her?

Personally I wish they would focus on other aspects and other lore characters. The possibility of another Sylvari tree or Jormags minions pose more of a threat and they should be working on a way for me to feel personally threatened by Jormag or the other dragons. Currently I see them as big forced to be beaten, but no personal threat to my world.

The best villains are the ones that have a side you can almost understand, but see as evil or grey

My opinion on Taco is this. It needs to be instanced, like a dungeon. Only then can you feel like you make a difference and organize it with your guild. Personally as soon as they called World events “raids” I got very disappointed. I wanted instanced raids and instead they give us world bosses which have been in the game since launch. Very disappointing.

Challenging content also does not mean instant death, that is a cheap way of making it hard.

For me I can name all the content I have enjoyed. Hallow. Xmas. F&F dungeon. Sab world one.Then I think it would be, this new TA dungeon? Please just give us more dungeons! I do them everyday because that is what I love, instance content I can do with my guildies. It can be balanced, as opposed to open world invasions or “others” and that makes it fun.

Also the fact that they took 1 year to show us it was all Scarlet has left me very dissapointed with the plot of LS. The story is week and/or too slow. Yet the content is just there to give me something to do. That would be great if they gave me permanent content, such as dungeons, to do as well. Instead they have just gave us a weak and slow story, with lots of events that have hardly any connection until you spend a year doing them all. The lucky ones are the guys who came in and saw Scarlet as their first LS update, they are exactly where we are but without the wait.

Personally I think they are doing a complete dungeon revamp, as they have said many times they do not mind removing paths or dungeons completely. I also think in one way or another, be it story or explorable, we are going to get some interesting dungeon action with Scarlet! Finally ill be able to have fun many times while getting good rewards, with my guildies! Yay! Was a new dungeon, path or story, so hard?

Let just hope it stays forever! Perma content please!

So if you have played GW2 from January you know what has happened through out the year and know all there is to know about the Living Story (LS). If not, then what have you missed? Well that is just it, apart from some new characters, and a few things placed into the world, not much. They filled the hole in Divinities Reach and gave us two new permanent instances in Diessa plateau and Wayfarer foothills. In addition we have 2 new world events, a Karka not many people do and Scarlets invasion that people farm.

So if I left in January, which I did not, and came back now how would the world look different? To me, and this is just my point of view, the world would not look very different at all. We have had some amazing events in the game, festivals and two temporary dungeons but if you left and came back you would not know: and for you the game world would look the same. As unfortunately these were temporary.

What story did you miss if you were gone? Well this is a bit hit and miss, as most of the story just seemed to be there to introduce these new characters RoX, Braham and others. Apart from that the only two real developments happened recently, one was a election and the other was Scarlet. These were interesting and maybe they can build on them to make the world living: however for me this feels slim. It has been a year since the game launched and we still have not seen any news of new lands, or races.

So what has the Living Story done, given I do not think it has been that epic or memorable? Well mostly, and oddly given the name story, it is mechanics that have been changing. If you look back from GW2 since January, and then think of what they have added and are planning to add it is amazing. The game mechanic’s and new systems that have been added are great, they truly are a expansions worth of content. I just want to thank Anet for bringing them to GW2, each time a new one is added it helps a lot. Unfortunately, I feel the LS is only now just getting started. We have a villain and some new characters to follow the story of but what is next and what do people want?

Personally, I have got to the point where I am hoping for news of a expansion. What I mean by expansion, as I feel I have to explain it, is a new land, personal story and lore. New arena to explore and get a whole new rush, just like when I started the game. Now the best bit about the living story is all the mechanics are in game already! So if Anet do a expansion, they only need to do story!

What do you guys think? Loving the Living story or the mechanics we keep getting? Do you want a expansion that gives you that excitement?

I also just want to point out I still play every day and will continue to, however I am starting to look for the next thing as I have done the current content over and over since launch. Which is one aspect the LS is good at, giving me something to do every two weeks. I just do not think it can replace a expansion.

Anyone else like SAB music?

So my view on Sab world 2 Zone 1 and 2. I did 3 but only in infantile mode for now.

I completed world 2 zones 1 and 2 on normal difficulty and found at the end I was very frustrated. I think this was for two reason, and the first was the rapids. Personally I did not feel that the rapids were introduced very well. When we first cross them it is high up where if you fall you have to clime all the way back up. If you are new to jumping puzzles or just not very good I feel this discourages people. I played Sab before so I knew what to expect but remembered that place after world one last time I disliked it. Noticing not much had changed did bring back painful memories. Anyway I kept on going and despite the hard learning curve I got past it. Along the way the two things that got me were the lack of a quick reset button and the bugs. I found sometime I would jump and get caught in mid air and teleport into the water. This is a bug I guess and it made a frustrating hard to learn experience worse. I would point out I did this with 5 guildies, 2 left before we got to the end of the rapids. They had enough. Bringing me to my next point with the rapids, the death lasted too long. It is a hard mechanic, I hate it, but if it going to drag me off with little chance to get out I would rather die or get teleported back to the check point. Speed the painful processes up.

My second big problem was with the darts in Zone 2. The first time I walked into one I just died, I then did not know why or how I died. Luckily my friend said you died from the arch way, as he saw me die. At first I did not mind, then the mechanic got used a lot more and before the end I was annoyed. It felt like a cheap way to push me around and take alway lives. I used 50 tokens trying to complete both zone 1 and 2. Mostly because the mechanics that killed me did so instantly and it was hard to learn what I did wrong. I feel that if it had knock me back and taken some health the job could have been done way better and I would have picked it up faster.

I would also like to say the fish mechanic was fine in my view, it hurt me but did not kill me and I picked it up straight away. Also, I did not expect this level of difficulty in world 2. I knew it would scale up the more worlds, but it feels like such a massive jump from world 1 that it puts some people off; and we are talking about normal mode here, I have decided I am probably going to skip tribulation on world 2. As world 1 zone 1 was hard, but I just about did it.

So this is less a question and more a discussion on how to get fury.

I have been wondering in PvE, does anyone use this trait “Inner Fire” to great effect?
I personally have never used it, in fact I do not think it even worked a while ago. Anyway, I wanted to see if there was a easy way to get fury as a Guardian, and does anyone have any advise?

The second part is, is there a way to get the debuff fire on to yourself? Deliberately. Just it seems like Guardians are missing fury and I would really like to get that buff without a being in a party.

We have had the same dungeons since Fractals, I really feel I need more now. I do dungeons every day, I enjoy them. Now with the farming event taking people away and the fact I just want something new, I really feel I need a new dungeon or extra explorable paths.

How come the Devs do not do more with dungeons btw? It seems to me they are a great way to get personal story across and to control how stuff can be done.

On the topic of a dungeon revamp, they revamped the rewards though I really hope that was not the dungeon revamp we were promised 6 months ago.

I do not mind the speed of the content, I think it is about right for casuals and hardcore. A few thing that could be done, is to leave some of it behind so the casuals or new players could still experience it after, so they do not miss out. While the Hardcore who get it done get the rewards of putting the in time. That would work for me.

It is what content that is being pushed out that I dislike. On the one hand I want more permanent stuff, but what makes some of it good is I do it once and I stop. I loved the Halloween clock tower and and will do it again once it comes back, but if it was there all the time I might not want to do it. As I could then do it whenever I want, maybe that is just me. This applies for things like the pavilion and all the living story content.

As for content that could be left behind, instances for the story maybe? Dungeons! To see what happens after in some cases. Such as the Molten Alliance! They are back now, so they must have bases. This time let us do some explorable paths inside to clean it all up and make sure they do not come back. Just like a after math of what happens after the event is done. They could even give us more permanent content by giving us new paths in the dungeons we have. Some the Molten alliance might have tried to go to either COF or SE to hide after we destroyed their bases. This could give Anet a story for some explorable paths.

I can not wait! I love Sab world one, and now we get to try out Sab world two!

To me the living story is what is happening when we are not fighting the dragons, and so I do not see why they do not use characters from the world already as opposed to making more and spending 9 months introducing them. When we got the Flame and Frost, why not use some of the Dredge we have seen before? Make it personal!

Scarlet for me is a threat but until we know her motives, then why should we care. If she is just nuts and wants to attack the world, then it would seem we can not do much but damage control so why worry about it. ( I read her short story btw, just did not go into enough for me. Such as why she started killing once see got out of the mists).

My personal wish list is dungeons!
I loved the Flame and Frost dungeon, it was a story dungeon but it was great! I would have loved to do a explorable path of it, or even see them give us new paths in COF and SE, using them as enemies! I mean they make things fun, with the new mechanics. Yet since then we have not see them and for me that is a great lose to the Living world.

Living Story, give us new dungeons please.
Okay so the living story is what it is, I know people who like it and those who hate it. Personally I do not mind it either way, it entertains me for a short time but now I am at the point where I would like something more. Instead of Living story content I want content, such as dungeons and extra paths to already explored dungeons. I do not think this would be hard to do either, as most of the dungeons have a lot of area not used or are only seen in Story mode.

As for getting these into the living story, well personally instances are a great way to tell a story and make it personal. The best type of instance in my opinion is a dungeon, however not just a story dungeon but explorable. Look at COF for example, the story dungeon part is good. It finishes off the story you have been following through out the world when ever a Flame Legion say’s “balefire will” something. However after that, it really picks up, we learn more about them by seeing what happens after he is gone. How he struggle to get back and how his lieutenants try fight back. These are much better stories then we have had in the living world, so why not try and build on top of these?

Dungeons introduce characters that can be used to make things feel more personal towards you, as you know your character was the one they meant that too. As opposed to Scarlet in the open world when she says, “Die die die”.

In the last world update we got the pavilion which is now a short story dungeon, and I liked it. It was okay, and I would have liked to have seen us do some short explorable for 5 people to finish off her twisted minions left behind or something.

What does everyone else think? Love farming the “world event” or want some real dungeons where your character makes a difference?
