Anet, please do not give us a new level of armour. You are abandoning your fan base for temporary players who only want to grind for the next thing with bigger numbers. They then leave once they have it.
Invest in your exciting players and give us more choice for armour without making all our hard work be for nothing. I have exotic on my main, like most do, and now I am wondering was it worth it? My answer for now it no. Why bother if it is going to be out classed in another 3 months.
Gear Treadmill = Bad design. Please Anet stop.
This is just a one more post against the terrible idea of a gear treadmill in GW2.
I use a condition build.
30/0/10/10/20/
The gear I have on is all carrion.
I use the staff in dungeons and run around in PvE with DD. This build also works well in WvW. Try it.
Out of all the cultural armor, nothing and I mean nothing looks as good as Human T3 Heavy. Show off your character and you would find out for yourself. Human T3 Heavy, hands down the best looking so far. For that look, I guess the price is worth it. But still, it’s tooooooo high. The chest piece is 30g and its RARE! Rare, not even exotic! FML
The problem is not that it is rare, as you get the cultural armours for the looks only. Then transmute it to some exotic gear with the stats you want.
The problem is it is far too expensive. It is over 10x the price of T2. It needs to either be lowered in price or let us use some useless karma to buy it. It is cultural after all, and we use karma to get the cultural weapons.
I sort of agree and disagree on this.
First I disagree with it for popular and easy dungeons like COF or AC. They can be done very easily, and fast, and you get 60 tokens per path. If you do two paths a day, then you get a full set should take you just under two weeks.
That is not too bad for exotic armour, and weapons.
However this is where I also agree. Some dungeons are just horrible to do, they take a long time and are unpopular and some servers. A example of this would be CM.
I hate that place, I am not allow, most I know do not like doing it and just about every thing in that dungeon seems designed to annoy people. So this is a dungeon I want some armour from, however I really am not looking forward to farming it.
So maybe while they take their time updating dungeons, they could lower the token requirement for unpopular dungeons? This might encourage people to do some which feel like a real grind.
I am in a similar problem as the OP.
For the server I am on it is COF and AC all the way. However if you head over to CM, the only groups their are story.
So once they have done their story they do not want to go in again. I can not blame them though as it is a horrible dungeon. I just want to do one path a day on it and work at getting the armour slowly, however even that is hard to find a group for.
I have found the only solution is to ask guildies if they want to, so if your guild is not active or whatever and you really like dungeon running find a active one. Luckly mine is but even in mine CM is not too popular lol.
Oh and the Fallen Angles who guard Ebonhawk, who armour from this dungeon. That is why I am trying to do it. That is a little off topic but a fun thing to know.
2M karma per piece?
since t3 is really really ridiculously expensive >.<
If I had to pick a price for karma, I would go for 100k karma per peace? Maybe 150?
I do not mind it being expensive in karma for two reasons.
There is nothing to spend it on, and just with daily and monthly you could get it with in two months of playing. That to me sounds reasonable.
I really think the t3 armour should be around the 60g mark though, it still takes a lot of time to get that much.
I agree a last represented time is needed, I know in our guild we have a rule about representing others and it would be nice to see how many of our guildies really comply.
Also as OP said a last online time is also necessary.
Karma, what is it good for?
So here is my suggestion, allow us to buy cultural armour with Karma. Please!
Simply put when you get to level 80, karma has very little use.
At level 80 you can use it to get food, though I personally have not done that yet. You can use it to get God armour, if you want it, and you have to use karma for ledgendery weapons right?
That is about it on karma for level 80 I think, let me know if I am wrong.
Anyway with this in mind, once you realise how easy karma is to get the food can be bought without much of a dent in your karma.
God armour is really only their for the looks, as the stats are really odd and you can get them in dungeons. So not everyone wants it.
So all that means you have a level 80 with probably 200k karma and nothing to do with it right?
Here is why I want this in GW2.
One karma is useless as I said above.
Second. Cultural armour, espesially t3 is really expensive and only a few people can really get them. I mean unless you farm every day I do not see how you can get more then one, assuming you can even afford one.
Third. The T1 to T2 is kind of a jump, however still reasonable. Yet when it comes to T3, it is over 10x expensive as T2. Now this jump is very harsh, especially given that all the good cultural armour is in T3. So at the very least please make this more reasonable. I was thinking 8x T2 armour, and to me that is still expensive.
As for prices of karma for cultural armour, I think they should be high. Probably about the same prices as the God armour.
What do you guys think? Karma, a price cut or leave it as it is?
My personal
I think they have said it is gone forever, that was what I read. However I would really like this statue to come back, it was great and all we have now is a slab.
I understand leaving it their until the 15th, to allow people to get the halloween hat, however after that I would like it or another equally good structure to be placed in the middle.
Okay here is my point of view, I am a casual gamer and I try to get on everyday. While I do dungeon runs, WvW and general leveling of my main character and alts.
Doing all that has got me about 40g so far, plus and minus maybe 20g for expenses.
The T3 cultural armour is about 120g?
That means it is going to take me about half a year to buy t3 cultural armour for even one character. This is very expensive no matter who you are.
Now I do not farm btw, so yes people who buy gold and farm may post they got it in a day or something. However how are casual people who do not farm Orr meant to afford this equipment? Yes for the looks btw, it is only rare after all.
Anyway simple put I would like the t3 cultural armour to come down in price in some way.
Now I have two solutions.
1) The price is at least halved. That might bring it down to a level that could allow casual players to eventually get it. Or bring it down even more, to say about 20g? I think this is plenty of money for some armour.
2) Use karma to buy it! This is what I would prefer. First the cultural weapons are bought with karma, when when I first went to a cultural armour vendor and found they sold for gold not karma I was disappointed. It feels like they put karma in the game and have not really made much of a use for it. Karma currently has 3 uses. The food supplies you get from karma vendors. Second the armour in game, which the only good level 80 armour you can get with karma is the God armour. However not only is this hard to get to the stats are odd, so it is not for everyone. Third weapons.
Now this might seem like a lot fo uses for karma but once you hit 80, it almost all drops away making karma worth a lot less.
So please allow us to use the karma, for which we need a use for, to buy cultural armour. Please!
These sound like good idea, and I hope Anet listens to this thread. Both a costume bank tab and a rare item bank tab are desperately needed.
Oh yea please give us a Great Axe!
Gear is dependent on your build, however carrion for everything part from the runes in the gear. For that I use Rune of the Undead, for some toughness.
It is a condition ele, and uses Staff or DD.
Carrion gear, with runes of the Undead attached.
Then for accessories Carrion.
http://www.guildhead.com/item/21164/carrion-jewels
Agreed, a NPC or chest of some kind in our home instance is almost defiantly needed. I have only got the hats and the two costumes from the event and they take up a lot of space.
As I tried to enter it, I crashed. Now I can not log in.
I enjoy doing the clock tower for the most part, I have now done it with two characters and have gotten good at it I would say. However my problem is that when I went to do it with my azura I could not see him. At all.
Now some Norn were there however the Azura are just that small that any size of person hides them, and if you can not see your character it makes the puzzles very hard to do.
Please Anet, help us out. Make the clock tower have smaller groups or something. Or every one the same size.
Apparently someone got a Mad King helm from it, yet when I did it all I got was some green item.
I guess not everyone can get all the unique gear, which is a pity as if it is only every day then there is a good chance most wont get them.
I really enjoy hearing this, I am so happy ANet put them in.
BTW “It’s Holler…Hallow…Its Candy Day!!” and the Quaggan kid are best.
Yes thanks, I can not believe it was that simple lol.
I kept getting hearts, so I assumed it was not full lol.
How do I delete a ticket?
Solved, I had to empty my mail. Thanks for all the help.
I am missing items I bought from the gem store.
I used some money to get gems this morning to buy some of the new Halloween items. had about 1400 gems in total, with some I already had stored up.
I then bought the mini pets. 500 gems.
The Mad kings outfit. 700 gems.
and the hood for 200 gems.
So after I bought all these I want looking for them, I had received no mail with the items and they were not in my inventory.
I asked if anyone else had this problem and someone said it could be lag, as I guess a lot of people were buying items.
I played for a bit and eventually logged off. I have come back hours later and I still do not have the items I bought with the gems. Yet the gems are gone and they are on the list of items the gem store says I bought.
Thanks for anyhelp.

I agree with OP split PvE and PvP skills.
I have found that while the GS is good, I find it boring.
The Hammer is all about interrupting, which is not great in PvE.
The one handed sword is about bleeding, which is fine but a little slow.
The Axe seems to be about fast damage and vulnerability.
Mace is slow, vulnerability and knock down.
So if you just want a alternative to GS then duel axe.
If you want DPS + two skills which apply vulnerability and a knock down. Then Axe/Mace.
However you should try all these out for your self and decide.
I am new to being a mesmer however I would also like to see clones get more health or have to take a standard amount of hits before disappearing.
The way I see it is, Phantoms do the damage. They are a lot slower to summon and you generally get less of them out in a fight.
Then you have clones, which one main purpose and that is for enemies to mistake them for you. If they have more health so they can take more damage this purpose becomes more effective. Another idea is to have them take about 3 hits before they die.
I know you can shatter clones and phantoms, however I generally want to keep them up so they help me. I only shatter them when I am bringing out more or it is the end of the fight.
What professions fit the Iron Legion best?
I am considering making another charr character and have begun to think what what profession I want to make it.
I have a Warrior Charr and Mesmer Charr. One is in the Blood legion the other in the Ash. So my next character would be in the Iron.
However I want a way to justify other professions other then engineer for the Iron legion. So has anyone made a different profession, not engineer, for the Iron legion and what reason did you make it for?
Thank you all.
I have two charr, and neither are my main, however the legions I picked are.
My second character, a warrior has gone with the Blood Legion. He is a brute who swings metal to kill stuff, and the Blood Legion fit that perfectly.
A new character I recently made, who is a Mesmer has gone with the Ash Legion. They seemed more deceptive which I feel fits the Mesmer style.
If I make a engi, ill probably go for the Iron Legion.
I played GW1 and I do not miss it at all.
First if you do, you could try played GW1 again or any other MMO. As they all support this.
That said, I understand how some people might want it in GW2. Maybe for you building your own build from a massive deck of skills is great fun, however I think for most it is waiting for people to find the best build and copying that.
Also it sort of inhibits casual players, who see 1000’s of skills and think I CBA to look through them all to find the 8 that worked well.
So they end up copying the build posted online, and the reason for the massive deck becomes pointless again. Either people copy the good builds or they stop because it is hard to make your own.
The good part about GW2, and it’s limited skills, is that all the builds use similar skills because it comes down to the weapon and then stats. It is great for casual as they can just play with the weapon they like and people who like to make their build can still do so with the 6 – 10 skills.
Also balance comes into this, as I think they attached skills to weapons to help make balancing the game easier. As they always know what skills are used together.
I would also like to see this.
Even if they just let you change your hair or something.
The Charr zone’s are all very empty, I think it has two reasons for this.
I am not sure how popular the Charr are as a race, so if not as many people play as a Charr you just won’t see them.
The second reasons is the story takes us to Orr, and if you go to lions Arch you sort of just head south. Which means unless people really want to go to a lower level area, then they just do not go to Ascalon. Which is a shame as I played GW1 and find some of the areas in Ascalon to be amazing.
Hopefully over time more people will make Charr characters or explore the areas, just do not expect it to get more popular in the higher level Charr areas. Unfortunately.
I made a charr alt, and I can say btw the personal story for it is very good. So maybe once people try the personal story for the Charr they will play them more.
+1 I support this also.
I would love to gain Karma for my main while playing the alts, or use Karma from my main to get stuff for my alts.
Please do this Anet.
I use Carrion gear for Condition damage, it has power and vitality on it also.
As for the best gear, there is some Karma gear in Orr. I think it costs about 250 000 Karma. Or some WvW gear, which is about 1000 tokens.
I am not sure how good these are, but for other classes they are sort after.
It depends on what type of damage you do. Critical? Condition? or any of the other types of gear. Craft some gear and try out a build.
Also it helps if you know what type of combat, PvE? Dungeons? WvW?
How do you make sigil of bloodlust and sigil of battle?
So I have artificer, and I know you can make sigil’s with it. So what are the recpice’s for these sigils?
bloodlust
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil_of_Bloodlust
I have just made from Carrion gear.
Power, vit, and condition.
I need to pick a rune now.
Rune of necromancer or rune of undead.
Signets are ok with some of the traits, however they become offensive. So you lack any defence from them. So probably good in groups.
Glyphs are good for groups also. (for me staff)
Cantrips I find are more for soloing. They buff you in many ways and can keep you alive. (for me solo, any weapon)
I have just made some nice armour and it has some vitality on it. This is fine as it is what I wanted. However I now have to pick a Rune.
So should I go for. Rune of Necromancer or Rune of Undead?
The difference is basically, vit or toughness.
I have about equal vit and thoughness currently, so which should I pick?
I am in a similar situation, I have to make some level 80 rare gear soon and I think I am going to make it Glass Cannon to see what it is like before I make the exotic gear. As I still need the 15 levels to get to 400 in tailoring.
If the glass cannon gear works out and I am fine, then ill make exotic gear that way. However if I die to often then ill have to look at what I need and want for survivability.
in Elementalist
Posted by: DOW Mageski.2097
Most classes can do what ele’s do, better. We can support, we can have a high DPS and we can do condition damage.
Yet just about all the other classes can do that and they can do it better. Even if it is just that they have more armour then us, or can out DPS us without a damage build.
Elementalist needs to be balanced, or the other classes all need to be nerfed.
I have not made a thief, however I am a ele, and I just wondered is that what it is like in PvP now?
I do not play PvP, so I have not experienced this yet.
I like the Fiery Greatsword, however I find the others to be lacking for damage.
I suppose the lightning hammer is the best none elite for this, however I can still do as much damage or more not using it. I also then get to use the slot it would take.
I think one of two things needs to be done to make the conjure weapons more useful.
1) More charge, and some number counter. Unless I have missed it I never know how many skills I have left in it. I know about the trait for 10 more charge btw, and after trying it decided it was not worth it.
2)Quicker to use, and have auto attack on it already. My suggestion is to have it always spawn at the casters feet, as opposed to being able to place it somewhere. This would help make it easier to use in a fight when you might not have the time to place it on the ground.
Just my opinion also, but the fire axe needs to be massively buffed. it has 1 aeo attack and a field combo for multi targets. So it is a single target weapon. Yet it does not do as much as the lightning Hammer which can hit more then one target.
I only skimmed through this thread….people seem very angry haha I wonder if the people hating on ele right now would be saying the same things if they nerfed 1 button builds….I’ve seen very powerful ele’s out there just sayin…
I wouldn’t mind them nerfing all the other classes to bring them down to the ele’s state of terrible.
With the build I use currently, I only switch between Fire and Earth. I use earth to defend me when I am in trouble and the rest of the time I am in Fire. I can do the most damage in fire, and the heal from water is so pathetic it seems to be useless. Air is not great, I switch to it some times to blind and knock down a enemy however I then go straight back to a element with damage.
If they want to promote swapping Attunements, they need to make the passive heal in water a lot better. They also need to make water a viable damage element.
Air needs to be tweaked also, I only use it for 2 skills. The damage from Air is so low I do not stay in it.
Earth I think needs some sort of massive passive defence, so tanking with a elementalist is possible.
All classes are meant to be able to do anything, currently elementalists can do very little and what they can do other classes can do it better. With ease.
I am currently only doing the daily challenge, and just bits of PvE. I do not want to do anything else as I am waiting for them to buff the ele. This way I hope ill enjoy the game more then they fix this over sight.
That is funny, thanks for the link.
I really hope they buff ele soon, I have been playing less waiting for them to fix it so I can enjoy the game more.
Yes I would like to see something similar to what the OP posted.
Some tactics would be great, so that it feels like a battle and not just a AOE fight.
I would also like this please. The few times I use conjure weapons, I am always a little put off at the fact I have to reset the auto attack.
the only exception is the Great Sword where I do not mind that not being auto, as I do not think it cancels the skill properly. However I would love this for the Ice bow and the Flame Axe.
