Your WEAPONS SET should be what is equipped on your hero’s panel the time you get your first stack, including UW weaps.
If the original WEAPON SET is altered in anyway with stacks, they are lost. Why would this not work?
Classic example of someone that has no sense of logic. Why would you retain your stacks when you are equipping a separate set of weapons for underwater with no sigil of bloodlust on it. This is how it should work.
As a staff ele I have 2 weaps, staff and trident. There is NO option to swap at all. Fine, I removed the trident, killed a few things and jumped into the water. Lost the stacks.
Is this also how it is suppose to work????
So when you equip a separate set of weapons for underwater with the bloodlust sigil, it is being transferred from your land weapons? How is this logical?
I think you guys are missing something. I went to Sparkfly with my Warrior and tried to see if I could get my Bloodlust stacks taken away by switching weapons in water and on land, while moving in and out of water. I was unable to have my bloodlust stacks reduce or removed.
dual axes – bloodlust and battle
longbow – force and strength
GS – bloodlust and force
harpoon gun – bloodlust & strength
spear – force and strength
There has to be a problem that is causing your removal of bloodlust stacks, but I am not having this problem AT ALL.
This is because you have bloodlust on both land and water weapons. Me…..
staff – bloodlust
trident- no bloodlust losses stack
Without spending 10g for this sigil to put on my trident, jumping in the water is bad.
One of the fun things I really enjoyed about GW2 was, jumping off high cliffs into the water. What a rush! With this sigil nerf, that has been taken away.
Diving goggles: No thanks, I will loss my stacks
Underwater combat: No thanks, I will loss my stacks
Please look into this Anet, or explain your logic to us so we can understand why this type of fun was taken from us.
@Hawke
Think you pretty much summed it up here! Wonder how many are running around with open trait slots? Because the cost is to high or to hard to get for a trait your not sure will fit your playstyle.
I really do feel sorry for all the new players who didn’t get to experience the trait system the way it is SUPPOSE to be.
We’ve gone from some sense of progression and build diversity, to some sense of progression and no build diversity.
Did you mean NO sense of progression and NO build diversity with this terrible trait system. If not please explain how you feel a sense of progression when you have to start at level 30. Plus the frustration getting traits in a very difficult high level area.
Why are they ruining the game? Something is not right here!
As a staff ele I have 2 weaps, staff and trident. There is NO option to swap at all. Fine, I removed the trident, killed a few things and jumped into the water. Lost the stack….huh????
So unless I spend 10 gold on a sigil for the trident, this is hopeless. Please someone explain the logic in this. Now I’m avoiding the water as much as I can. Sad!
Staff Ele fights on land and gets 25 stacks. Jumps in water to swim across to an island and losses those stacks. This is fair how? Please explain.
Example: Kessex hills fighting the Alch. Battle is brutal and you can stack pretty fast. Then you jump into water to get the spider queen and loss those stacks. Sure do miss 25 stacks stayed till you were downed or moved to another map, which made perfect sense!
Traits? What is wrong with them? It is more similar to the GW1 system and that is what many players wanted.
Not even close to GW1 “SKILL hunt” system! If you want to know whats wrong, go read all 22 pages here.

You were doing your thing then suddenly on your screen pops up “Scarlett minions are attacking (somewhere random)” You would drop what you were doing to go help! What a rush.
I’m not saying this but the concept of breaking things up was great.
With the recent patch, I was really hoping they would do the right thing to fix this terrible new system. Sadly they didn’t!
You know…..things were going so well before the China release. Makes ya wonder huh!
What about something like they had with Scarlett Minion attacks? Now that was fun. Sure do miss those
After giving this new system a try, I wonder how many are running around traitless. For me it adds more confusion and complication. Starting new alts are not an option at this time. Sad!
All we can do is wait until the 20th. Do the right thing Anet!
Running waypoints use to be so much fun for me. Dumping the trait points in toughness and vitality at a lower level made it possible. Dashing into a camp with much higher level npc’s and barely making it out was a rush for my friends and me. Leveling as you go made getting much high waypoints a challenge.
This way of leveling is no longer feasible with the new trait system. So much has been taken away and makes me wonder, what really is going on here??
Best idea I have heard so far is to go back to the trait system that ACTUALLY worked. Then lock grandmaster and any new stuff on the way.
Tell me when this happens so I can get a few more alts going!
Got to lvl 78 grinding Edge of Mists and to my surprise, didn’t even unlock grandmaster…huh? So dump the points wherever and deal with it when you hit 80. Isn’t this when you start your build these days??
The other alts before this system grew with each level. This one at 78 feels like lvl 40. Which makes me believe new players are at a disadvantage to those players before this craziness. Really, I’m missing something here, how is this good?
So being traitless at lvl 42, decided to go get one. This one sounded good because I was in the next map “Help Shining Blade Kimber defeat Kol Skullsmasher”. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS THINKING?
“Kol is a champion giant having a great deal of health and can take over 20 minutes for a large group to kill”
Buying the trait isn’t an option because….uhm…I need the skill points to BUY SKILLS!
Please look up EPIC FAIL!
Level’d a few before this new trait system. Never did it feel like a grind or painful. Now because of lack of basic traits, characters are much weaker at lower levels. Started an alt to test this out and yes it’s painful. All I want to do is get to 80 so I can start the adventure.
There really should be a Jarassic Park type area just for those that want this type of content. Maybe even something lvl 80’s would enjoy.
Before this new system, I would run the maps collecting waypoints. Come back later to explore and do things. Building my toon the best I could as I went. This is how I would pretty much would level.
Now after grinding to lvl 30 on a new one and finding nothing after the grind…well! Guess I will keep grinding Queensdale and EOTM till 80. Then grind gold and skill points and not do another.
Hope this trait change is worth for you Anet, because it really does blow for the players and the enjoyment I once had. Nuff said!
If you wanted to just make an alt for WvW, how the heck do you get traits now?
Just unlocked a new trait, have no clue what the heck it is because……I can’t use or even see it till lvl 30. So are you telling me I have to go get every single trait someplace, or pay 43g and an insane amount of skill points? This system is better how??
You mean like GW1 had??

“Your message was suppressed due to excessive messaging” need I say more?
1. Sigil of bloodlust now losses it’s 25 kill streak when you swap to a different weapon. Uhm yes the sigil is on that weapon, but the REWARD for your hard work should stay until downed.
2. Nerfing the champ train in a starter area I can understand, but should have been replaced with an area something like the destroyed LA. If you want to be a part of that environment, go to that area. Remember when we had to go get 1200 citizens and the bad guys tried to stop use? Roll with something like that Anet, for those who want to lvl fast, gain a few coins, and keep the high lvls from getting bored.
Hmmm, even could add a full NPC randomly spawn zerker group that would even put the fear in the highest lvl. Now that would add to the excitement of a champ train.
(edited by Daggos Skelito.2910)
Removed them from the champs and add them to the vets……problem solved…next issue
Heck lets just turn LA into an insane champ train
Anyone else miss those random map attacks Scarlet had? They should do something like this on a permanent basis. Could be some mad scientist creations getting away to cause havoc. Those events sure helped break things up and brought alot of people together.
