So my mouse isn’t working properly in order to right click I have to press very hard and sometimes that doesn’t even work. Getting a new mouse pretty much out of the question until at least next tuesday. I thought “oh well no problem Ill just rebind camera movement to middle click or the app switch button on my mouse.” So I opened up the control editing window in game and discovered that there is no listing for camera rotate or anything. Is there some reason why I can’t rebind camera controls ?

Alright finally got the better picture.

Over the weekend my guild did its weekly guild missions and I offered it as a prize for our drawing with the stipulation
numbers 1-100 were chosen who ever got closest would get a vinyl version(with no tatters) but if someone got the number exactly they would get the satin one. I assumed it would take a few drawings before someone got the satin one well it was won and is on its way to its new home already.

I have been contacted by a couple people from other guilds asking about getting one made for their guild. While I would love to do this I cannot do it for free and I figure there is some legal issues with selling copy-written material, can someone direct me to anything that may clarify the situation on how I could or why I could not do this?

I use that spot to play a sort of chicken game with other necros we cast spectral walk and jump then see who can get closest to the water before hitting recall. with a judge in the water watching green lines.

I find it quite annoying to get kicked out of game while waiting on the clock tower to reset I appreciate the changes and am doing much better at it this year than I did last but every time I fail early it pops up “Unless you resume active play you will be kicked in 50 seconds.” THAT is just annoying

It was pointed out that somewhere along the way I caused Destiny’s Edge to put on some weight. (aka messed up width/height ratio). So I put them on a diet (returned them to proper proportions).

Luckily this was caught and fixed before it went to print.

I made this from the art provided in the media kit so the only thing really original about it is the composition. but I think it turned out really cool and hopefully within the next week Ill get it printed on satin with a pole to hang like a tapestry
It is 24 × 36 and I have an old bronze looking curtain rod with filigree ends that it will hang from.

heck I don’t think I would even mind if they linked it to the existing drop down for titles.

I love the new back piece skins but I don’t want to give up one just because I got a new one. While I know the new splitter will allow us to save the skin if we are going to keep getting new skins at the rate we are I would love to see a drop down like the one for titles. to choose to display any of the back pieces we have earned.

While I know its not optimal until they do add a method for renaming the guild I would say just form a new one and KEEP the old one rep the new one to gain influence and grow but switch back to the old one for missions and stuff until the new one has them then you get all the perks of the old guild and the new name. without loosing anything from the old one. and it won’t take long before you get the practice bounties to help build influence for the new one.

what about those that transfered servers that got birthdays changed. My birthday was 2 days ago, but the celebration wont hapoen for 3 more months.

With the exception of one character I deleted, alot of these characters I have were within the first month, yet, it shows all of them about the time I transfered servers. So I found the fountain of youth by 3 months.

Changing game worlds does not reset your character’s age.

it does if you used the delete and reroll method of server change….

yes you need to have at least one person with the event up until it times out

then again if you don’t have to find the guy is it still hunting a bounty or does it become fighting in an arena

I personally do not see a need to limit it however a method of doing so could be borrowed from Neverwinter.
it has 3 currencies gold, Astral Diamonds(AD), and Zen with gold and zen being equivalent to our gold and gems but AD serves as a go between. It is used to buy Zen and zen can be converted to it but you can neither sell or buy AD for gold. It is also the currency used on the trading post not gold. While the game provides ways to make AD it is usually in the form of Rough Astral Diamonds which need to be refined. before usage. and refining is limited to 25000 per day (a daily quest rewards 4000).

In order to borrow from this system and use it to limit the trading post a similar 2 state currancy could be used on the TP and all payouts could be given via the rough state (call it damage during shipping) and then limit the refining of the rough state. and thusly provide for a limit of usable income from the trading post while not limiting actual gains or buying power of those wanting products.

Additionally this method would also allow for adding another item to the gem store, a “Diamond Polisher” that would be a one time use item that would refine all the rough items you have in stock

Now please to not take this to mean that I am suggesting plagiarizing content directly from Perfect World/Cryptic but rather I am simply stating a similar system could achieve the desired effect while not limiting the market itself.

So I was talking to some people and thought of a new mission idea.

it could include things like trash drops vendor foods karma items crafting items or perhaps special items from certain dynamc events.

I was actually recently thinking about something just about the same.
When I was little my mother used to get a treat for my brother and I then leave a trail of clues as to where it was ie clue 1 says clue 2 is in the box that keeps food cold then in the fridge clue 2 would say clue 3 is where Robin Hood, Baloo, and, Old Yeller meet. Then on the shelf with the Disney movies we had clue 4… and so on and so forth.

So yea I like the idea of the bounty giving you a clue… ooo or 5 …
Such as the first person gives you a list of 5 people to go talk to that might have info. you have to go talk to them and 3 of the 5 have the same info and 2 have different so you have to find out what ones the majority says then go there

I mean if you ever watch like dog the bounty hunter pretty much they just drive around where the person hangs out and watch for them else talk to some other people who may know where they are….

frankly I don’t care what they add I just hope that add something so we have to stop building things to let merits catch up instead of stop doing missions to let merits burn off.

The annoyance we find with it is the inconsistency with damage from worms and urchins (sometimes they hit for small amounts others its a 1 shot kill)
the fact that you cannot use the 1 skill and turn at the same time, and the range on the mines .. sometimes you can go right near it just don’t touch others its a matter of don’t even look in its general direction.

Also on the rush even after you have the 15 if you want you can switch to alts and run in again until the timer runs out to get the chest again. Tho if your luck is like ours with the Quaggan one you may not want to do it again.

Its no less fun than the treks … but I do understand what you are saying. and I agree it is upsetting to have 15 min to find and kill 2 mobs and lose the bounty because it took 12 min to find the first one alone.

Always cross your fingers that you get Trillia Midwell and Poodaboo (arguably the two easiest ones to find)

If you are still looking let me tell you about Ebon Verity. We do our missions on Sunday from 8CST till whenever on Jade Quarry. We have all missions unlocked. We are a fairly small guild usually 16-20 on on mission night. We already have members on a different server, and set up a special rank for those members so they can make use of upgrades and influence gained on their server even. We are ready willing and able to accept more if you want to join.

I know several guilds “prescout” but we find it easiest to do it like this

I start the bounty check who we have and choose one to start with (usually the easiest to find or kill to insure personal rewards)

Then I go to

and click the path map for the one we are after and link it in mumble.

Everyone converges on the zone picking different pay points along the path and works against the grain so to speak. they announce what waypoint and direction they are going to avoid multiple people checking the same spot. usually within a minute or 2 it is found

When its found the nearest waypoint is found and as soon as someone with a commankittenets to the bounty they pin up so the rest of the guild can easily find it.

Then kill and rinse and repeat for the next bounty.

Keep one person at the event. It doesn’t have to be the person who started it just a person in the area with the event notification on their screen the same goes for the rush. When the timer hits 0 it will complete and you will get credit.

Imagine if HBO discovered a way to distribute the show that was 100% Pirate proof, and then deceides to run the show a limited number of times over a limited time frame to encourage more viewers. Their viewers are already invested in the show so they figure they’ll make the effort to watch it. Sure enough their viewership would rise AT FIRST. This is because by using this method HBO has stoped new viewers from getting into the show. Why would a new viewer want to jump into the story half way? Can you imagine how hard that would be to follow? Now put yourself into the shoes of the viewers who HAD been watching the show up until that point. What if, for some reason, say holidays or sickness, they missed a few episodes? Now they have the choice of either carrying on knowing they’ll not be able to experiance that part of the show or to stop watching it. Some will inevitablly choose to stop watching. Over time the viewerbase would drop off and in the long term it wpu;d be harmful to the show, Both for HBO and for the viewers.

Again last night while running the Quaggan challenge (failed) and Blightwater (also failed) I found myself extremely frustrated by the lack of group control. I would like to push this back to the top for more responces. I can’t begin to imagine how much easier these and other things would be if I could simply say
Group 1 go here. and Group 2 go there.
During rushes even Group 1 and 2 run, Group 3 escort would be nice.
Heck even treks… Group 1 start at the top of the list group 2 start at the bottom.
While we don’t have enough to do so high level bounties would be much easier to divide up who goes for what target.
The ability to monitor and insure balanced groups…. to know what group needs another person when in the middle of the event someone pipes up “Hey my cat just puked on my kid I gotta go.” (yes that has been heard in mumble).

even the ability to get an accurate count of how many people we actually have would be an improvement.

In GW 2 and fantasy in general, racism actually exists and makes sense as you have various sentient beings that are radically different and by Anet’s standards, cannot interbreed. A race is actually a word meaning a different species that has the same or comparable sentience as another comparable species. The various “races” of GW 2 will naturally fear each other and be jealous of one another hence, Prejudices will form and hatreds will brew for one another.

So that makes it ok to treat each other without any form of respect?

I must say I find it quite interesting the assumptions that have been made about me and my character.

I am neither liberal, or a hippy, nor am I a bleeding heart or a easily offended weeny.
I never once claimed to be actually offended by what the actions in the game.
I have however been known to be cold, heartless, and even mean spirited. While at other times I have been praised as having the patients of a saint and the kindness and generosity to match. I strive to maintain order and calm in life yet those who know me tend to agree that some of the most chaotic and random comments have come from me.
Tho I may bring up topics that appear to be in complaint of an offensive topic I am quick to make a off the wall and even dirty comment in the name of jest. Many people I know agree with the idea that there is none with a dirtier mind than myself. but the most important aspect of what I am is the fact that I am an observer of a persons nature and actions. I pay attention to those around me and the things they do and say to gauge a more proper interaction with them. Through this I manage to balance the things I say and do while interacting with people to avoid offending people for the most part.

In fact my comments were never as much of a complaint about racism’s existence in the game but more intended to put it out in the open and see what others had noticed it and begin a general discussion on its existence. I would enjoy continuing the discussion but I do not wished to have assumptions made about myself because of your perception of the validity of the argument.

Does anyone believe there to be any level of hypocrisy when it comes to the things the players are allowed to do and say in game when the developers themselves have coded a similar action into the game directly.

I know its been a while but another conversation made me return to this thought. I was in TS with some people and there was a bit of an argument about how to do a dungeon at one point one guy (who plays a charr) said to woman (who played a sylvari)

“Why don’t you shut your knot hole you no good salad head”

To which we all laughed, thinking this was an attempt to break tension and move on. The woman playing the sylvari then started again explaining her idea for what should be done. and was quickly interrupted by the charr player again who quite gruffly and obviously not joking this time said

“I said shut your G**D**** mouth you F****ing salad bowl. Why don’t you go roll a real toon instead of some hippy F**s lunch.”

At this point all of us were quite shocked and taken back. When we tried to call him out he claimed that he was just RPing and we should chill out since it was just a game…. and at that we all left his TS and went on to other things.

It may be “just a game”. It may have been “in character” but I tell you what else it was it was hurtful. Mean and no less disturbing than real world racism

I used to have an issue where my gems box was empty my currency just showed up as three dots buy was always greyed out and sell was always blank.
I found a fix here on the forums that did not envolve closing the client.

1 Open trading post
2 Open options
3 Change game language from English to French and wait and watch the TP or other windows (usually gems will show up) but either way wait till text shows up in french.
4 Change game language back to English
5 Close options and use trading post as normal

This is not a permanent fix across different logins but it tends to stay fixed for the duration of a single playing session.

I hate to say it guys but I used to get this all the time … like basically EVERY single time I went to a the teq and kitten waypoints at event time as well as LA. I upgraded my computer and it has NEVER happened since. Heck I fought and killed TEQ AND looted the chest before I ever showed up on screen one time…. hell HE never even showed once. but everything was there and I just had to watch the minimap to see where I was.

I went from an old 1gb ati vid card on a 5 year old Motherboard with a 3ghz dual core cpu and 4 gigs running windows XP
to
1 gb nvidia gforce 550 ti on a brand new mobo with 4ghz 8 core cpu and 8 gigs of ram on windows 7

and like I said after the upgrade I have NEVER, not a single time seen the issue. so while you may say its not your system… I’m betting it is.

Well that just sucks. and suddenly I wonder if there have been other times when we have missed merits due to this.

My guild did a guild rush tonight once we got to 15 completions we moved on to guild challenge.

Later we checked and the rush was still active and I went back and was able to activate it like it had never been done.

and that was after the issue with the initial completion
somepeople were starting with half health. others were getting hit for 90% health after 1 mine

personally I got hit once and went from 2000 hp to 2790 then got hit again and suddenly was at 16,000 health. and even while heading straight for banners would get the magic is fading thing.

I have seen rangers that have perfectly acceptable names on their toon and most of their pets but then bam they pull out Mr. (insert offencive name here)

how do I go about reporting this since I cannot report on the pet directly? Do I just report name and hope that CS searches through all the pets too? or what?

how about the ability to trade EXP gains for magic find boost
and
loot drops for exp boost.

give me a button that I can click to make it so I no longer gain EXP but get a 100% MF boost
or so I can make it so I don’t get any drops at all for a 100% EXP boost.

I AM NOT asking for RAID content. Just raid type grouping for existing content.

My guild runs guild missions and while setting up for them I for the first time find myself missing a feature from WoW I miss the raid group setup
the small group within a large group concept would make coordination on many things easier Especially in things like guild challenges where I could see who was in what group and be able to say group 1 come defend this point instead of trying to memorize 20 people’s classes by the sound of their voices in mumble.

I’m talking something as simple as the original raid window from wow would be quite sufficient.

If you notice there ARE limits on what you can kill. that camp of centaurs is going to attack you if you get close to it and therefor you can kill them. BUT you cannot for no reason simply walk into a city and start killing non agressive NPCs.

Or what about complaining about certain attires? Should we start a protest because the skirt of some females is too short?

I do know this is a game I do know the toons in it have their own fictitious culture. I also know that in this fictional world racism not only exists. but is quite rampant. and nobody in their world seems to care, not even the members of their world controlled by those of us from our REAL world.

Look at it this way if in game I tell someone I think they are a stupid N-word I will most likely see a ban and have lots of people mad at me but I can mean exactly the same thing and instead call them a stupid bookah and everyone laughs even tho everyone in game KNOWS it is a derogatory term to mean that I feel I am talking to someone obviously inferior to myself and want them to know it. But its a game so we don’t care.

We don’t tend to like comments about the way a person looks. We know that calling someone thin “Stick boy” or fat “fat boy” is rude and can be hurtful. but we laugh when “salad boy” is used for the same exact purpose and effect.

I know its a game and we shouldn’t be bothered by it … but are we sure we shouldn’t?

Something I have noticed that I find a bit odd.

If I or most people I know see someone in game call another by a racist name we report it and Anet responds with a ban.

and this is the way it should be.

But GW2 is FULL of racism and nobody is bothered by it infact most people laugh at it.

“Bookah” is a large, loud, bellowing, and dumb imaginary creature that the Asura used to frighten their children. Since their surfacing, they use the term to refer to those they view as inferior beings, which to them is almost everyone who is not an Asura.

This is a derogatory term that they assign to the races they deem beneath them.

also several people in the game seem to have adopted and accepted calling Sylvari “Salad Heads”

Even members of the lionguard in this latest living story use it.

“You think salad boy can make good on his threat?”

The char and norn both have been known to make other racist comments against humans and other races

I Still have difficulty on how to react to this. On one hand I tend to wish to say its a game and its their culture. but on the other it was created by humans and is thereby an extension of ours. If I was “magically” transported to Tyria I would no sooner call a sylvari a Salad head than I would call a ….. and this is my point I even refuse to pick a race and term to use in an example here. but yet I fear the day when I watch my own toon call someone a name in some cut scene.

JQ and SoR share the same teamspeak owner & host. If there was maintenance both TS servers would be affected

the only way this would be true is if both servers were running on the same machine… and then a DDOS would knock out both servers. my vote is it is just the influx of people everywhere getting on ts at reset.

We are on JQ and have 3 members on Anvil Rock and when they guest here to join us on mission night they can do the bounties and get commendations for bounties and rushes but Treks do not show up for them and none of the guild missions show in their mission windows.

the 200 boost + 50 from bonfire 10 from guild more from gear more from laurel vendor and still more from an omnomberry tray left me sitting at 405%.

Tonight Im adding a hero banner and a couple rings and accesories to see how high I can get it.
