As much as I would love to see a solution to this, I don’t think it will happen in the near future. Server transfers are just too beneficial for Anet, specially during
tournaments, so it might take a while until we see something addressing this problem.
What’s funny is that some people seem to believe that it’s OK to server jump any time you want to receive a free win, basically turning WvW into a joke since you don’t really have to work for your win anymore.
It’s nobody’s fault that they are playing on a T3 server where most borderlands are ghostlands and where you only see some activity in EB for a couple of hours until it becomes a desert again. I understand people transfering to other regions because they want to play with their guild mates/friends or whatever, but nobody should be forced to open their wallet to a fix an issue or problem with the game that could/should be solved by the dev studio.
I’m sure they can do something about it since they made such a wonderful game that is so different from every other MMO I’ve played.
Being on Underworld, I can say that WvW is a joke. It’s all about the world that has the highest active population, and even though we have some dedicated players, we just don’t enough people playing WvW constantly like other servers.
As time goes on and people move to another game, more servers will become empty and there will only be about 3-5 active WvW servers, since people can just transfer to the top servers anyway and get a free win.
It’s sad.
Hey everyone, I have a question about upgrading equipment.
If I buy an ascended ring and infuse it with something like a versatile agony infusion or any other infusion, and then upgrade it on the Mystic Forge to get one more slot, will I lose the infusion I already had on the ring? Or will the infusion still be there?
In regards to PvP runes it depends on your build. Are you spirit, Trap or something different?
Also worth noting that you might want to have a look at a 1h sword/warhorn for your PvE set, much higher damage than the GS, but it is a little trickier to get the hang of.

For PvP I was looking for runes/sigils for a trapper 1h sword + dagger build.
Why do you say that 1h sword + warhorn does more damage than a great sword? I’ve been using the greatsword from time to time and the damage seems pretty good, specially with the second skill and on crits.
I’m new to the game and I would like to ask other rangers what runes and sigils do you use for PvE and PvP? I’m wearing berserker gear and a longbow and greatsword, so preferably something with offensive stats.
Subject 7 was really difficult. I just did it as a berserk ranger. I used longbow, Water spirit, signet of stone, signet of the wild, frost spirit and spirit of nature. Just keep attacking the boss with 2 and push him back with 4, and dodge if you can. I also used the spider pet (can’t remember the name, sorry) to reduce healing on the subject 7 by 33%. It’s a really difficult fight but you can do it, just don’t give up and you will get both achievements.
P.S.: Use 3 if you need a few seconds to regenerate some health and don’t summon Spirit of Nature right at the start, wait about 10-15 seconds.
I’m new to guild wars and I’m about to hit level 80 with my first character, a ranger, and I would like to ask you guys for advice on what gear to get.
I did some research and I learned that there are sets that are meant for PvE and PvP (like Berserker and Soldier/Knight).
The problem is that I like to do a little bit of everything. I like to play on my own and explore the map, I like to join WvWvW PvP and Team arenas, and I also enjoy doing dungeon runs. Because of this, I’m not sure what set to get, and to get both of them would probably take me a year or so.
Do you guys have any suggestions or any other set that I don’t know that works for both PvP and PvE?
