There’s a very useful thing called dodge in this game, ever heard of it?
12. Always carry supplies.
Favourite unlocked title:
The Blazing light, because it’s the hardest title I got, while all other titles I have required almost no effort.
If you could choose to wear ANY title what would it be?
Ultimate Dominator. I play WvW a lot so this is a title I would love to have.
Pick a title you genuinely respect when you see a player with it and give a reason why this title reflects a positive feeling.
I never played Guild Wars 1 but I heard titles like GWAMM being really hard to get.
Pick a title you dislike seeing on a player and provide a reason why this title impacts you negatively.
There really aren’t any titles I hate or dislike, although I know some people buy their Dungeon Master title, which makes the whole thing pointless.
I actually wish they’d just increase everyones’ movement by 25% and remove all the signets and passives that raise movement.
Agreed. Movement signets are a must-have outside of dungeons but they’re uninteresting passive bonuses and take up an utility skill slot.
I don’t know why you even think you would need a specific team comp for dungeons in this game, unless you want to do lvl 50 fractals.
Even then, you still don’t really need a specific team comp, except maybe one guardian to cast walls of reflection for the Bloomhunger and the Leg. Imbued Shaman and maybe other encounters, but even then it’s not absolutely necessary.
Just to give you an idea, I had a lvl 50 fractal group yesterday with 2 rangers, and despite the usual whining at the beginning about having rangers in a group, the run went smooth, without any wipes.
Sure, sometimes people just want to make fun groups of “thieves only” or something like that, but this suggestion just screams elitism and shows you’re not really that good as you might think if you really need a full meta comp to beat dungeon content.

Hello. I’ve always done level 50 fractals with 70 AR but ocasionally I see groups asking for 75 AR, why? How much AR do I really need?
Thanks

Where did you get this info from?
Hello. I’ve been trying to get an account issue resolved since January 17.
Between Jan 17 and now (March 24), the support team responded to my ticket once, asking for details, I gave it to them and I’m still waiting for their answer. I’m afraid I won’t get one.
Can you please look at ticket number #1143977 ? It’s been over 20 days since the last response.
Thank you.

Hey, welcome back!
People will always discriminate certain classes, and unless you’re planning to do competitive speed runs, I don’t think anyone will care what class you’re playing, as long as you have an efficient build for PvE.
Some classes can probably deal higher damage than others but honestly it’s not anything major. Just play what you enjoy really.
Regarding the expansion, you will have to pay for it. We have no details about the price and release date yet.

I heard some people buy low level gloves with karma, throw them into the Mystic Forge and salvage the results for linen. I have no idea where they get the gloves though.
You could also buy Orrian jewelry boxes from pretty much any karma merchant in Orr. They will drop junk junk and occasionally lodestones.
Hi,
My guild and I want to know the state of servers of low bronze tier in europe (Vabbi&co).
Is there nobody on map ? Roaming teams ? Some zergs ?
Thanks
Hey, Underworld here.
Most of the time there are small groups of people capturing objectives or doing their dailies. Zerg fights usually happen during the afternoon, sometimes a bit sooner than that. You won’t find many huge guilds with a zerg of 200+ people or anything like that. The WvW population of bronze servers is not that high, so most guilds are rather small but there are a couple of big ones.
Most people seem to play in EB unless the commander decides to go to another BL. I imagine that also applies to other servers like WSR, BT, and VABBI.
From what I’ve seen so far, all servers seem to have a decent amount of roamers, although many prefer to roam in a group.

If you call Guild Wars 2 grindy, then you really haven’t played any other MMORPG.
That is an assumption I know for a fact is wrong as I do consider GW2 grindy and did play multiple other mmo’s.
How? Plenty of MMO’s require you to stay in the same zone and grind for days until you can move to the next one, and then grind even more.
In many MMO’s the max level isn’t even achievable to the average player, and in the ones where it is possible to reach the cap, you grind for gear for about 6 months until the next content update is released and your gear is then becomes obsolete.
And let’s not talk about MMO’s where you actually have to reach the level cap until you can participate in any form of PvP. In Guild Wars 2 you can start doing PvP right from the start.
That’s one of the reasons of why people keep coming back to this game, because other MMO’s feel so old and outdated.
If you call Guild Wars 2 grindy, then you really haven’t played any other MMORPG.
If you had waited the 1/2 to 1 year before it came out, you’d have a much better machine for the same price you paid today.
That’s always going to be the case with PC hardware though.
My inventory:
- WvW siege and traps (this is something I hate carrying since it can easily take 15 slots or more)
- Various stacks of food and maintenance oils
- Stacks of incandescent dust which I save to later craft maintenance oils
- Mithril and Elder wood logs which I keep to eventually craft more WvW siege or sell
- The star of gratitude to get rid of empyreal fragments
- Living story related stuff (geodes, bandit crests).
And if I’m in a mood to PvE, I’ll usually carry potions
Great suggestions. Makes me sad that stuff like this will likely never happen.
There should be more to WvW than just capturing camps, towers and keeps.
This is my wish list:
1 – Updates to WvW – I don’t mind what kind of updates, but something to refresh it would be nice. Maybe new objectives? New maps ? New type of siege? Who knows. WvW balance updates would also be cool, bronze servers have a lot of downtime where nothing happens.
2 – More PvE/Boss encounters that challenge you. I think Vinewrath is an example of a really well designed boss. I think mixing PvE with Jumping puzzles would be interesting. Imagine fighting dragons on floating isles or something like that.
3- A new class!
(edited by Davey.7029)
All items should be available at tier 1, even if they could be a bit more expensive. As it stands, I’m not sure I will even be able to finish my ambrite weapons collection or craft Mawdrey.

White swords : Great for defenders, and for people who are just looking for fights, it’s also easier to know where the enemy is.
No White swords: Easier for small groups to take towers.
2% of whispers will be: “That was a good fight! Let’s duel again?”
98% of whispers will be: “Lmao faget u so bad, #rekt plz QQ moar”
^ This right here.
You’re one in a hundred of players who would actually whisper others without the intention of trolling them, but to help them. Do you see the problem now? That is why whispers are turned off.
If you really want to help someone and give them advice, you know what to do anyway.
I find it really hard to believe even the absolute worst possible technical issue related to these achievements that no one at Anet could come up with a simple solution. What would be so hard about making new achieves, archiving the old ones in an invisible state, and applying progress to the new achieves from the old achievement data? The script to do this is not that hard to write. If someone thinks they didn’t get their progress, the CSRs can look at the archived ones.
It’s quite sad to have left an entire category of achievements broken this long. They’re all literally 40 years to finish, that’s not even poor design that’s just a bug.
Maybe Anet expects the game to be up for 40 years. In that case, the achievements make perfect sense
In all seriousness, the achievements need some rework. I understand that they’re meant to be a long term goal, but at this point some of them aren’t even achievable.
Here’s a suggestion: why not keep the current requirements and AP, but add more tiers? This way there isn’t a huge gap in the numbers (like in the Yakslapper achievement).

Nope, but you can always change your gender, I don’t know if that helps.
Hello everyone , i started playing GW 2 a couple of days ago during my winter holidays , it is needles to say i got addicted to it hard.
As my first class i took Ranger class , to learn basics mostly. Now when i covered basics and some more advanced stuff i wanna do a new character where i wont make mistakes i made with my Ranger.
So i got a couple of questions for you guys in order for me to make it happen.
1. Which class would you recommend for me , i prefer versatility , like in moment i can do damage and do some crowd control and in second moment i can help other people with buffs and such.
2. Crafting , should i do it in early levels or farm materials for later?
3. Guilds , what should i look when picking a guild?
4. PvP and dungeons , when to start them?
5. If i am lvl 40 for an example , and if i farm events in lvl 25-35 map , i get the loot acording to my lvl not the lvl of the map?
1. Pretty much any class can do this, some a bit better than others. Necro, Guardian, Ranger, Thief, Mesmer, they all can do it.
2. I say if you want, you can do it in early levels. Or you can save your materials and craft later. You can do it anytime you want. The low level materials normally tend to be a bit more expensive than the higher level ones, so you could start collecting them now.
3. That really depends. Do you want a small or a large guild? Do you want a guild that uses TS or one that doesn’t? I say try to look for a guild that fits your needs, and if you’re not comfortable with it, there’s nothing wrong with searching for a new guild.
4. You will get access to all dungeons at level 80, but if I’m not mistaken, I think you can start doing the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon as soon as you hit level 35. Explorable paths will you give you the best rewards but are also a little bit harder than the story paths.
Regarding PvP: you can do it as soon as you leave the tutorial area.
5. Sorry I don’t know about this one.
Please, don’t go around blaming an entire server because of one hacker. I can’t speak for everyone but I’m certainly not proud to have a hacker with us. However, our “rapid growth in points” is more due to the fact that Blacktide has even less players than Underworld. It has been like this for the past few weeks, with hackers or no hackers.
The best you can do is report the hacker and wait until ArenaNet does something about him. Just don’t get your hopes up, because normally it takes at least a month until anything happens.

I guess I’m the only one, I really like the new dailies.
Before the patch I would have to spend 40 minutes to an hour if I wanted to complete all of the dailies. Now I can do them in 15 minutes or less (specially the WvW and PvP ones, those are fairly easy). Plus, it’s not just that, we also get some cool rewards by completing them.
I only have an issue with very specific dailies, but since I only need to do three dailies to complete the meta, it’s not really a problem for me. For me, this new system is an improvement.

Just try to stay with your commander and don’t worry too much about dying. That’s just natural and every player goes through that, even the ones who seem unkillable.
Just focus on having fun, and if you want to get better just try to figure out why you failed and what you can to not fail again the next time. This might include tweaking your build (changing your traits and gear) or just changing the way you approach a certain class.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and if you encounter any rude people, just block them.
Edit: meta builds are important but most of the time they’re made for more advanced players. You can follow them but if you notice there’s a certain ability you’re not confortable with, there’s nothing wrong with replacing it with another that fits your needs.

I wouldn’t say “bad” players are gone from the game. Most of them are found in SPvP and sometimes in WvW.
I can’t say I see many of them in PvE though, so that’s a good thing.
Well, a cleric guardian might be what you’re looking for.
Oh look yet another WvW is dead thread.
Obviously the people I see in WvW must be figments of my imagination, the queues I saw after reset on Friday were also figments of my imagination, in fact I must be a figment of my own imagination.
Paradox time -if you are reading this you don’t exist because I don’t exist because I WvW and see others in WvW but the OP says that WvW is dead therefore we weren’t there and don’t exist.
The alternative is that the OP is incorrect and WvW is not dead – which do you think is more likely?
You might not be noticing this on your server, but WvW is in fact dead or dying in the lower tiers (I’m taking about Bronze league here).
Sometimes there is some activity, specially on reset night, or when the matchups are super close, but in general WvW is as alive as a south african desert.
So, all the “WvW is dying” threads do have some truth in them.
(edited by Davey.7029)
Nothing wrong with the achievement itself, but it is a bit annoying to have to go through the dialogue every time you fail. Maybe a checkpoint system would help, specially for longer instances.
I’m also having the same problem. It happened to me before and I had to wait from 30 minutes to an hour until it somehow fixed itself. I tried flushing the DNS cache but it didn’t work.
ISP: MEO
Region: EU [Portugal]
Server: Underworld
I don’t see why those two sigils wouldn’t work together. I think you might be confusing with stacking sigils like sigil of bloodlust.
Sigils will always be active except when unequipped from a weapon or when they’re just lying in you inventory. Off hand and main hand weapons have no influence on sigils.
Even if the developers agree or not to remove white sword permanently, I think adding a different rule every week or month could make WvW more interesting.
Someone from my guild got a precursor from a sentry. So yes, they do drop.
For WvW:
Personally I can stay alive for very long with my cleric Guardian, but I know that most people will not want to build their Guardians this way. However, what you can do is get a bit of Toughness (and perhaps vitality), so you can live longer and take a few hits. Soldier gear or knight gear seems to be popular, so I say pick one. Or both. You can mix both sets.
Soldier : POWER, Toughness, Vitality
Knight: Power, Precison, TOUGHNESS
(words in bold represent the main stats)
Or you can equip other different sets, as long as you get defensive stats. Melee classes need to be able to take some punishment since they get close to the enemy, so I don’t think zerker would be a good idea, unless you like roaming.
For PvE:
Since I don’t PvE with my guardian, I really can’t give you advice here, but Meta Battle has some good builds that you could try. Or you could just go all zerkers since PvE is fairly easy.

Ranger is awesome, period. Yes, it’s true that I see plenty of bad rangers who don’t know what they’re doing, but I also see plenty of bad warriors, guardians and so on…
I main a ranger and I do fractals once in a while (level 46 at the moment) and I’ll tell you ranger is a perfectly good class for fractals or any sort of PvE.
The thing is, people who never read patch notes or blog news posts will always live in the past, and will always have a stereotype against necros, rangers or whatever.
I personally love hearing it. Maybe that’s just me
One of the funniest moment I had in fractals was when my group was in the LFG in the Old Tom fractal, and people were leaving one after another after they asked which fractal it was and we answered ‘2nd’.
Apparently for some players, starting from the 2nd fractal is not good enough, maybe they want to join a group already at the last boss…
People are strange.
Harpy fractal is PUG killer. It’s probably why they left.
The harpies are ‘hard’ to kill without coordinated reflects, and ‘hard’ to stealth past when you have a thief because people think they drop worthwhile loot, because people are very bad at jumping, and because people in PUGs generally have no idea what a blast finisher is.
The champions are difficult, because people don’t know how to kite the Ettin or use reflects for the fire shaman, much less CC the bandit.
Old tom is ‘difficult’. People don’t know how to tank behind a guardian or an earth elemental, most people can’t find the sweet spot inside of Old Tom either (should doing so be needed). Plus most people in a PUG do very little damage, due to lack of might stacking, lack of proper skill rotations/weapon selection, lack of proper traits, and not being properly geared for PvE content. Did I mention most PUGs don’t even have the coordination to actually operate the fan properly?
The veteran golems are extremely ‘difficult’. Coordinated reflects on the Asura? LOL. Dodge projectiles when reflects down? LOL. Kill the golems quickly? LOL. Group them together? LOL. CC Baron von Scrufflebutt and/or dodge his unblockable unreflectable projectiles? Double LOL (once for kittenty projectile mechanics, once for how woefully your average PUG will perform here).
So in short, this game is too difficulty. Lol, maybe for the new generation of gamers who don’t like to be challenged. I personally play games to be entertained and to be challenged. I thought that was the whole point of playing a game!

Hey everyone. In my view, raids should be:
1) Rewarding: Raids should be rewarding and provide short, medium and long term rewards, so even players who can only log-in once or twice a week have something to show for completing a raid. Ideally, the rewards would be better than the ones from dungeon and fractals.
2) Replayable: One big issue I have with the current dungeons and fractals is that they’re not very replayable. After you complete a dungeon path or fractal, you’ve seen everything and the “mystery” is gone. Raids should be fun to replay over and over, the same way SPvP and WvW is. I think boss mechanics and events that change regularly would help.
3) Challenging: Raids should be like a puzzle that has to be solved, while also requiring a level of skill from players. They should test you as a player, the same way Liadri the Concealing Dark and the Mad King’s Clock Tower tested us. They should be difficult, but also available in some way to casual players so they can also enjoy them.
And that’s my contribution to this CDI.
Thank you!
YES!

I don’t think so. Maybe you could try activating a living story episode, and then switching back to your personal story? Maybe that could reset it.
If it doesn’t, try sending a ticket to support.
How does this even “fix” the game?
I haven’t seen this week’s PoI, but I see no problem with devs inviting players to try PvP. Some players only focus on one aspect of the game without trying the rest, and you never know… they might actually like PvP.
However, I think they need to rework PvP or do something about it because right now it’s missing complexity and depth, so it might not be enough for hardcore gamers who love the idea of learning new strategies and tactics every day like in other competitive PvP games.
(edited by Davey.7029)
They are always adding new ways of gaining AP. The living story episodes are one way, but you can also get AP form seasonal events like the Blood and Madness and the general Halloween events.
If you’re having trouble with the LS achievements, you could ask a friend for help or create a group using the LFG tool.
I hope it returns somehow. It was one of the most beautiful places in the game and the music was wonderful.
