Of course there will always be people pushing “the meta.” But those are just stupid people being stupid. I play what’s fun for me.
No one is pushing any meta. Metas develope over time through and with the community.
You seem not to understand what meta actually means. But kudos to you for playing the way you want. If more people would do so, this disscussion and bs would not exist.
Plenty of people in-game push it. “RUNNING BLAHBLAH DUNGEON 80S EXP IDIOTMETABUILDONLY PING CHEST!”
I understand what it is, I just don’t agree with saving a small amount of time over having more fun playing the game.
That’s not pushing a meta. That is people actively searching for similar minded players. The fact that you are swayed by someone elses LFG says more about you than about people pushing an agenda.
Pushing a meta would be going on the forums and telling everyone else how and what to play, or demanding change so a new meta ist established.
You have a couple of things backwards.
It’s no longer a few people searching for like minded individuals when EVERYONE is requiring it.

Nope, not noticed any trend.

ArenaNet promised us no trinity and… here we are. Trinity. If I wanted that I could just go back and play WoW. This was supposed to be different.
I’m just glad I watched a recording of it after it had aired, so I could skip the horrible cooking garbage.
Anyone knowledgeable on both?
I want to know what I get from both and what the differences between them are
SMAA is good anti aliasing. FXAA is taking a big blurry —-- on your game.
Sure is tumblr in here.
People need to stop with the “grow a thicker skin” and just read the TOS
This. Something may not personally offend me, but if I believe that it’s against the ToS I will report it.
A-net deals with this sort of inappropriateness quite firmly, which is good. If they start letting things slide, people will just continue to push the boundaries. The rules are the rules, and why something may not offend me, I think it’s important to safeguard these things for people who may take it personally.
Yep, exactly. I report anything I see that’s against the rules, regardless of how I personally feel about it. Any online community (game, forum, etc) that doesn’t enforce its rules goes right down the toilet. I don’t want to see that happen with GW2.
I’ve wanted to join a guild since I started playing but can’t due to not knowing anyone else who plays GW2. At least I’m not missing much.
I see you’re complaining about the complaining.
I’d definitely like to see a boss timer or some indication of when world bosses will spawn.
Yep, no PVP/dueling in open world.
Thank goodness for that.
Thank goodness. What an awful event.
I’m surprised (pleasantly so) that Reaper isn’t simply being heavily nerfed. I should probably be optimistic, but that’ll probably happen before or shortly after launch -_-
I’ll definitely be reporting this if I see it happening.
Just as it should be.
As far as I know, they haven’t said anything about it.
I’d PAY for them to optimize this game better for multicore systems. Seriously. Start a kickstarter for it ArenaNet, if that’s what it will take. Not joking.
I followed their link and am using the WinAuth Windows authenticator. Was stupidly easy to set up. I’d recommend going that route, personally.
They probably already have your phone number from when you bought/registered the game unless you entered a fictitious one. You can check by going to My Account > Settings. Anyway I wouldn’t worry about it too much. I doubt they are going to start calling/texting you in the middle of the night to let you know of new and exciting things in the gem store.
If you’re worried about that, get a little airhorn. Works great on telemarketers.
Man, that dead horse is looking awfully beaten. It’s dead, let it be.
The Reaper shouts don’t sound menacing like I imagined they would. I love the Reaper, but my Sylvari Reaper shouting “your soul is mine” sounded like he was asking permission.
I understand that we’re supposed to be good guys and everything, but it just sounds pathetic. Maybe just a voice filter or something? Even an optional one?
Thoughts?
The game has an option to deal with that already. Block them.
Agreed. I would really like to have some options regarding whispers.

entitled

When people start throwing those words around, it’s my signal to stop listening. People have explained over and over why the things you mentioned don’t belong and, apparently, ArenaNet agrees with them since those things aren’t in the game.
I got my gems in just a little over 48 hours.
No way. Go back to WoW if you want DPS meters/scores/whatever. That garbage is awful and has no place in this game.
People should be able to name themselves whatever, and talk about whatever. If people don’t want to see it, just block or turn off the chat that person is on. It saves you time and hassle, as well as anet by not reporting things like this…
And if you don’t want to follow the rules that you agreed to follow to play GW2, you can not play GW2. Any game/community that doesn’t enforce its rules goes down the toilet.
I’d rather they add better support for multiple CPU cores first. This game is really poorly optimized.
“Role Check!” sounds boring… I’d rather personally have “Gear Check!”.
I’d rather anyone who wants to check gear go back to WoW.
Angry Joe couldn’t bring me to water if he dropped me in the ocean. Forget him. I started playing because of official info and playing the beta.
And what’s so bad about changing your build midway through?
Don’t like it, you don’t have to do it.
And when people choose to not do it, there won’t be any complaining from anyone else about us not doing it… right?
I certainly hope they don’t dumb down the challenge when the whining starts.
And it WILL start.
Just throwing my two cents in that the wait is highly annoying and missing the sale is disappointing.
It’s completely irrelevant. Stand where ever you want.
