So ive been playing my necro alt off and on due to the overwhelming amount of story bugs. And i mean overwhelming. After this long in the game why am i still dealing with story bugs? I hate lvling toons b/c of this. EVERY OTHER STORY IS BUGGED! Currently its steel tide bugged for me. AT THE END! I’m so sick of this kitten. I have a suggestion. Fix your story missions before you do anything else. How bout that Anet. Repeating the same story mission 2-6 kitten times is ridiculous. It really is. Its surely not fun. The game is fun when it works. But this is why i tell my friends to stay away from this game. Too many bugs that shoulda been gone before release. Im not gonna brag to ppl how great a game is and 3 story missions in they are bugged and your stuck. What a turn off. " death said this was a good game. So i bought it and its so full of bugs. I’ll never listen to him about a game again!" You Anet need a much much much better QA team. B/c way to much is getting past them. You dont play through once or twice and say “its good!”. Have them check variables. People who run past mobs to checkpoints. Skipping cutscenes. Dead npc’s. All these things need checked thoroughly. And should be bug free before you ever let us play it. Be smart. Make a public test realm. Where the variables will most assuredly be properly tested. I am truely sick to death of repeating 45 minutes of gameplay multiple times b/c of your lack of variable testing. You have to many bugs in this game. So stop releasing even more content thats gonna be buggy and permanently fix what you have.

The only difficult part of the legendary is the precursor. Its is insanely over priced and complete RNG otherwise. They need to do something along the lines of FOW armor in gw1. Except in gw1 you could make money. This game is about taking money. Not making it. Never in any MMO “I” have played have i had such a difficult time accumulating wealth. For those of us that have a job and families we dont have the time to play 12 hrs a day. ( i get 2 if im lucky and 4 on my days off) i farm cursed shore and chests there. I feel like my progress is next to 0 towards my legendary. As far as acquiring gold i need to make the rng items and buy the lodestones etc. And i refuse to spend rlm on digital currency. Thats silly and means you didnt earn that legendary. you bought it. I guarantee if ppl werent buying gold from anet there would be next to no one with a legendary. Those of you saying gold is ez to make, plz share with the rest of us how your doing it by farming. B/c i dont seem to be making much gold with max MF and all my free time farming in cursed shore. I would love to know what the more experienced players suggest.

but i think that they maxed out the content.
so now they play pvp to become the best player ever, or organize server militia in wvwvw.
but as far as pve goes.. dungeons can test your skills. you ll get a reward “once in a while”, but you cant seriously expect to always get better and better gear… that is ridiculous.

I havnt seen a post yet about wanting more “Powerful” gear. Thats your fanboyism talking kittens. However. Rewards are what many ppl are asking for. Where is there a unique weapon drop that u can make a little more than 20s. Why cant i do the same 5 DE’s to farm for the things they are forcing me to farm for. I.E. karma and mats, Without getting farm code. Which i have discovered is zone wide for drops. Does not matter where in the zone. We want something to do thats fun. Like the jump puzzles are fun. But the rewards are crap. Even adding something like mf boosters to the chests or something from the cash shop like Black lion chests without having to buy keys for the crap thats inside. Cheaper just to buy what you want from the gemstore. How bout more than 1 lvl 80 area…. OP say go somewhere else. Like where i might ask? What other lvl “80” zone is there? None. PPl spew the same old crap. Explore (done) Dungeons (suck,and done) craft (gotta farm mats huh!) Some of the achievements still arent even tracking. For example Legendary survivor isnt tracking. I want to make gold so i can start buying the things i need. But anet isnt allowing that since, as has been stated a hundred million times by many others, they instituted overkill farm code and created more money sinks than ways to make it. Fanboys need to stop with their same tired argument. craft explore LOL. If any of you lvld legit. by the time you hit 80 you should have well over 80% of the map already complete.

Pretty sure the next update is the 24th. And i expect just bug fixes and farm code adjustments and loot adjustment and fixed SP that was supposedly fixed last patch but really wasnt. No new content for quite some time. It would be folly do introduce NEW content. When current content is broken and unfinished.
Before all of the GW2-naysayers tell you that the game is out to “get you” – this was likely a bugged DE and you may want to file a bug report with the name of the Event and the time you did it.
Granted – you are level 8 – you won’t be given much more than 20 karma and 20 copper for completing a DE at level 8.
As a level 80, I earn 243 karma and 1s 48c for every DE I do.

AN/NCSoft doesn’t want you to farm anything so that you’re more likely to spend actual money buying gold and other stuff from their cash shop.
Same reason why Explorables are impossibly hard. More gold sinks means more profits for AN/NCSoft.

Most of the OP are not gonna see the bugs unless you are 80. B/c 90% of the bugs are in orr. Where there was next to no beta testing done.
Okay, I’m just gonna say it: I suck at warrior.
My main is a guardian, and I’ve become pretty reliant on the defensive capabilities of my Aegis heavy build.
On my warrior I am getting murdered on a fairly regular basis in PvE content at my level. I’ve tried Mace+sword for the two counters, I’ve tried mace plus shield for the block and stun combat (not bad), but in the end I’ve currently settled for rifle+greatsword. I pretty much kite single target until it gets to melee, knock it back with rifle 5, and if it’s not dead by then, use greatsword to finish it off.
I’d prefer to play a more melee oriented build, but it seems fighting a single target at range is the only way I manage to stay alive.
On my guardian I’m super-tanky, so fighting 3-5 enemies at a time is a fairly normal concept for me, and I have a build set up that’s oriented toward surviving this sort of encounter, but I can’t seem to work out a similar setup on my warrior. I really want some stun heavy / blocking / countering, or generally defensively suited melee combat where I can survive up close.
Can anyone help with this? And if this style isn’t suited for Warrior, can anyone give me some general tips on how to survive melee?

I dont know what some of the other OP are talking about warriors cant survive. I LOVE my warrior. I face roll champs at lvl 80. Its a mateer of simple circle strafing with a greatsword. GG. You gotta spend some trait points in defense. i currently have 25 points in mine. I have no issue pulling 8-10 enemies in orr and downing them in seconds. If your on sanctum of rall server id be happy to show you. Death Aggro is the name on sanctum.
This is a question i want to ask the Devs.
Why are you staying so silent on loot and rewards?
Do you plan to increase rewards? Introduce new skins?
Is loot working as intended?
These are things the community wants to here about. That way we know whether to hang around or uninstall. Wait……is that why they’ve been so quiet?
Honestly i love the game. But what anet did was spent the budget on art and graphics and forgot to put anything meaningful into the beautiful world. Bad loot system. You already know. I think a lot of things will be fixed. But i think a lot will not be. Loot being 1.
I just shelved the game till i see them fix everything. Notice how EVERYONE (even haters) say how pretty the game is. And it is! But the content and design is seriously flawed. You’ll get it anet. Just listen to the ppl paying you. B/c only a small fanboy base is calling this game a success.

I really don’t understand why people are saying there are no endgame in Guild Wars 2.
The endgame is everywhere, how can you say there is none?After you reached level 80, you are at almost 30% of map exploration, this means that there is 60% of contents left to explore.
There are also 8 dungeons with 4 routes each (as far I know, story + explorable), with a total of 32 effective different dungeons.
There is a load of rare gear to craft or to search, in order to make you character appear as you really want to.
There are 7 other professions with different playstyle to master after you mastered yours.
There are a lot of combinations of personal storylines which fork many times depending on the decions you make.
There is WvWvW and sPvP where you have to master your profession to an higher level to be competitive.
There is all the gear to unlock in sPvP.
There are a lot of bosses to defeat around the world to get unique gear.
Probably there is something I forgot to mention, but all I’ve listed is enough to me to say that Guild Wars 2 has an huge endgame.
What you listed is biased and you aint been there yet. Most of the OP havnt hit 80 and progressed. First I dont know what the kitten you were doing while lvling. bc when i hit 80 i was at 83% completion. So your exploration theory is null at 80.
As we all know. the dungeons suck. And are gold sinks. Pointless.
the story arcs you are talking about requires many things your fanboy brain cant process. 1. Why do i want 3 of the same race. 2. why do i want to spend rlm on extra character slots to repeat the same content i did getting my 100% explorable? As soon as i finished. Can you say grind. And there are few bosses with unique gear since every zone has a world boss almost. Of which next to none drop anything at all.

I haven’t noticed a drop in my rewards, so I don’t really feel like it’s discouraging me from playing the game.
Then again, I’m not farming the same two or three events over and over or re-running dungeons same-day like the guys complaining about it.

GW2 is first and foremost a PvP game, its always been a PvP game, and always will be a PvP game. You knew this before you purchased the game, and yet here you are whining that you have to…GASP…PvP in order to complete an achievement. If you seriously bought GW2 strictly for PvE, then good lord will you be disappointed. Basically 99% of endgame content in GW2 is PvP centered, unless you truly enjoy sitting in the one lvl 80 map in the entire game repeating the same boring event over and over as your PvE endgame rofl.
Show me how they marketed this game as PVP specific game. not fanboy talk. Facts.

Because the game wasn’t built centered around you. If you don’t want to get 100%, then don’t do it!
3. What may be fun for some is a bore to others. Cheers to you if you love wvw and wanna sit in there and hope that castle gets taken so u can get a poi or vista. But forcing a pve player into pvp seems like bad design. I get they wanna fill their wvw games. But dont force me into a gametype i dislike. And then tie a major piece of acquiring my legendary to it. Its RnG.
This will always be the case no matter what the developers do, people will always complain. Some will love it, some will hate it. All the more reason why the devs should make the game they want. If you want a game to be made with some particular player-type in mind, why don’t you go make it yourself.

It’s not a gear check. It’s a coordinated effort check. The bump from greens/rares to exotic is very marginal. Throw in a random PUG full of exos vs. a balanced guild group on Vent all in greens and see who does better.

Gold – Gems – Real Money — these are part of the game’s economy.
The other stuff ANet wanted to keep separate so that it’s not a pay-to-win game.
Glory and pvp is all restricted separate from the other parts of the game, so that’s another facet.
The real puzzler for me is why dungeon currency has to be different for each dungeon.
Thats an easy answer. B/c as soon as OP use the same currency everyone runs the easiest dungeon, the easiest path, all day everyday.
Until there’s actually evidence of an exodus, Anet need not worry. Every MMO has its share of vociferous malcontents, and until game purchases and logins significantly decline, I don’t expect Anet to make any significant changes. For all we know, the vast majority of GW2 players prefer Anet’s endgame vision.
Your statement couldnt be more false. Look at fansites and this forum. There is so much complaining about loot etc etc. Ive seen games forums do this and i can tell you where they are now. either decomissioned or F2P. I am seeing and hearing more problems than likes. The game is young. But for those of us who arent still lvling its a diffrent game. So if u havnt been 80 for a few weeks you probably shouldnt comment on “end game.”
Can’t comment on the PvP side of GW2, so I’ll leave that to others discuss the rewards (or lack of).
To my mind though, there are actually too many rewards in PvE – not always in the sense of drops or currency, but certainly way too easy to level up for doing very little.
Just run around exploring, get caught in an event – and even if it’s nearly over you seem to get experience for just participating.
The lack of reward for me comes in the lack of any real accomplishment. That’s only my view on the gameplay and not meant to offend anyone else who may love the new format.
Could you elaborate on that? Bc after 300hrs i havnt seen a reward yet. I have done plenty to be proud of. Real jumping puzzles. World bosses. Etc Etc Etc. NEVER did i recieve an item i could use that i didnt pay for. NEVER. Havnt seen any unique skins that drop. Something you dont need to run dungeons or DEs for.

Calling an entire game “end game” is just a way of saying “we have no end game.”
Loot is awful in this game as is rewards. Come on OP. Do you think you should get the same silver/xp/karma from a 30 minute world boss as you do for a 3 minute DE? Thats just plain dumb. And the chest loot in this game. Worse than Diablo 3. Lack of varying items and skins. There is not a single drop in this game other than precursors that net you any real profit. But thats Anets point. To limit our rewards and profits so we buy their gems. There are more things in place to remove gold from the game than to make it. Thats pure fact. And can not be argued. I hope someone tries. Really. Everyone likes the chance for a drop they may make them more than 1g. The loot here should have been like gw 1. Lots of unique skins to sell or farm. What have you. But in 300+ hrs and full magic find includding food and buffs. Im well well over 200% magic find. And have NEVER had a mob or chest drop me an exotic. Without rewards why play. Theres only so much to explore and so much to zerg. The loot system must be fixed and more unique skins should be available as drops. Say what you want about not wanting reward-centric (or whatever you made up there.) I want rewards. And for the OP’s that say its not about stats etc. Thats not what im referring too. I could give 2 kittens about wows lame kitten gear progression. But i want some interesting loot to drop. I want to have something to look forward to maybe getting. Bottom line. I wanna be able to make money in this game. So i can afford the items Anet decided to make so RnG. Precursors, enough said.. 100’s of yellows in the mystic forge and nothing but 1 exotic. There is no true progression here. let me explain how arena net prevents you from this.
They force PvE players into PvP for 100% map completion. Something the individual player has no control over. This should be a pvp Achievement. Not PvE. So when you finish all the pve zones you may wait many months before your realm has control of the things u need. But you have to que for hours to go check. Hence stopping your legendary progression. Precursors are RnG. No set formula in the mystic. Again stopping progression. This is long enough and way off topic now. i better stop.
On topic, a game that doesnt reward you doesnt keep you. And if the very very very very small amount of casuals that enjoy looking at pretty things stay. Thats pretty much all that will be around. Look at the history of MMO’s and why they failed. It all revolves around risk for reward. Progressing. And having fun doing it. Anet nailed the lvling process. Dropped the ball after that.
No it’s not allowed. ANet has just told us to report them and that they’ve been thinking about solutions.
They never will have a solution. Look at gw1.

This thread is great. the truth is. All you OP saying your gonna play till forever hasnt even progressed ur toons to 80. Let alone played for weeks at 80 doing the same things for no reward.
I really don’t understand all the people complaining about the grind at 80. What is grindy, exactly? The cosmetic looks of your character? Because this is the only grind this game has.
In every other game, you grind for power. Your character will never be fully developed and be 100% competitive to every other one above you if you don’t have the very best top gear yourself. You will always have the feeling that the other guy with top gear will contribute more than you to any group.
And so you feel forced to grind, so you can “be as much” as everyone else.
What happens here? You will never ever be forced to grind just to compete. You grind to have the cosmetic look you want. It has nothing to do with your character development, just with you own necessity for aesthetics.
I wonder if they make cosmetic gear grind easier… I wouldn’t give a week before people start complaining about “What not? Where are the meaningful content to be my carrot? I need a carrot!”
I’m sure there would be complainers even if A.Net decided to insert a completely useless object named “The shiny piece of a rotten peanut” that you cold wield and /emote with but with, but with a drop rate of 0,0001% from a world boss… I’m sure there would be people here complaining that it’s not fair A.Net made them grind their eyes out for that piece of “meaningful content” they so much want. And if they can’t have it in a reasonable time of, 20 gameplay hours, their whole fun is spoiled and they don’t see a reason to keep playing.

Many would start the topic with a long introduction about how many games they have played, how many hours they played this ect ect. But I won’t, cause it won’t change anything about what I’m going to say.
I been been reading the forums since they opened them! (woho). Hence, I haven’t been able to not notice, the huge amount of complains being raised on the forums. I won’t say all off them ain’t without reason, nor will I say the game is without flaws either(Like WvsW wait times, money rewards, and bugs). But the point I would like to raise, is against this “Challenge vs Reward”, “The game being to hard” and the “there is no endgame and it fells like a grind”.
I know many of you want “New gear with large numbers on”, so you can use this “new gear with with large numbers on, to get gear with EVEN larger numbers on”. You want a carrot in front of you, telling you to “go do that, then this is yours!”. And I’m glad to tell you this: There is plenty of MMORPG’s out there, doing just that! yay! Then you can level to max level, be forced to do dungeons after dungeon, or PvP for insane amount’s of time, to get the “gear with the best numbers”, and start the entire chain again (See the theory called Skinner’s Box to learn about why this system works)

Where are OP getting this bigger numbers kittens. I have not read a single thread asking for statted gear. What i do see is ppl wanting a reward for their time. Ive come to realize this game is to be played for a bit then shelved till new content comes out. B/c in less than 300 hrs you can have everything you want in this game. Except rewarding loot you didnt grind a dungeon for. 100% map, everything. As i have. with the exception of a legendary. Only casuals are putting these threads up. Anet nvr said anything about deflated gold rates and anti farming for mats/money. They nvr told me i would be playing a game that has no reward. Players play for rewards. This isn’t a gear treadmill MMO. You do not have to grind for the prettiest armor lest you be destroyed in PvP later. It has the same stats as TP or crafted armor.
The “grind” is completely optional in this game. In other games, it is not. That is the difference. If you don’t want to grind, you do not have to grind just to keep up with people who do grind.
If you don’t want to run the instance 50 times because you want pretty armor, then don’t run the instance 50 times for pretty armor. Your stats in PvP (and even in other instances) will not be affected in the least.
Let me say this. It isnt optional. B/c they only made half decent gear from grinding. There is no nice skin anywhere else. And what “end game” look at how they did armor in gw 1. Had some great skins for a fair price. then they had some really great skins that took forever to attain. Ppl want to look good. they should have that option without having to spend 8 months getting it. And the really uber looking armor can be a grind. I actually like nieh impossible gear to get. But that is not feasible for casuals.

No rare skins that drop, that are worth more than vendor or the ecto from salvaging etc. Very very limited armor choices. I left diablo 3 for this a month after launch. need a reason to play and spend my money.

I think what they are going for is making dungeon armor the equivelant to fissure armor in gw 1
Transmute the L35 cultural armour later on when you have a full set of rares? I mean, it’s cosmetic after all – everyone out-levels that tiered armour. 22 hours is nothing at the end of the day.

What gold was being made in speedruns? The gold sucked for time spent. I triple that in orr in the same amount of time. So please. Anet is stingy as kittens with gold. They have more ways taking it out of the economy than bringing it in. Dungeons nvr made a significant amount of gold. EVER! That dog just aint gonna hunt.
Well first things first, YES I have no life and YES I could be considered a “fanboy”. However, with this being said I am still having trouble putting the game down for more then an hour even after near 350 hours of play. Let’s be honest how many people have done every explorable dungeon line with ease (excluding bugged ones). I know I haven’t.
When it comes to PvE I want to figure out what we as a player-base are doing wrong in these dungeons. It’s hard to find people who will do dungeons and try different builds to complete them easily. The common response is why would I do that when X dungeon is so EASY. So all those people seeking endgame how about helping the community and I figure out how to do some of these paths like CoF path 2.
As for PvP, which I have barely touched, I can see myself sinking hundreds of hours there, but again it is hard to find people who actually want to play SPvP. Most people think WvW is the limit to PvP which by the way, anyone willing to actually pose a threat to HoD?
So my challenge to all the endgame seekers is to figure out a way to do these “hard” dungeons and share your knowledge and help the community. If that isn’t for you then start a guild and max it out and try to dominate in WvW.

Why in gods name would i want to run those terrrible dungeons. THERE IS NO POINT!
First, no rewards. For me, just finishing a dungeon is not a reward. A small achievement
which you cant share with anyone. No way to link achieves yet. So plz tell me. Why do any dungeon if you dont want the skins….that is not end game. thats kitten poor attempt to lengthen shallow content. Hey guess what too. Im a gw2 fanboy! But im not a blind stupid one. Raving over things that should be chastized not defended just b/c ive been playin gw since gw1 beta. Only fools do such a thing…
LOL. What is the end game you all speak of? Dungeon grinding for weak skins? Crafting? B/c thats pointless. Items crafted cost more to make than you can sell them for. Look, I truely truely love gw2. As a single player game. I feel like i should have more to do than i actually do at 80. In 286 hrs my toon is done. Gear, weapons, everything. So normally i could make my end game farming. B/c i enjoy that. But you can only farm orr for 30 minutes before the farm code kicks in. Going to lower lvl zones is 100% unrewarding in any way shape or form. So whats left. PvP? Nope not a pvp player. World bosses? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Whats the point? No achievement, no loot, same karma and xp i get from a 5 minute DE anywhere. Iwas just hoping Anet would have not screwed with so much. So fast. Especially the farm code. You can do better with the bots. Stop punishing us for their behavior. That is the lack of end game. Once you 100% GG. I tried makling an alt but after already doing every heart and piece of content once. Its really hard to repeat the same thing again and again. So just b/c your ideas of fun are wasting money in dungeons and repeating the same things. Doesnt mean everyone else is wrong. Everyone enjoys something diffrent. Anyway. Im happy that you all like the lack of reward for doing anything. Ill keep an eye on your names to see what ur posting in a month when u catch up.
100% world completion ruins the "Alt" experience. Make it account-wide.

So I’m working on World Completion, I’m at about 73% right now… (also, the WvWvW locations were ridiculous, especially the ones in enemy territory, and don’t get me started on the Eternal Battlegrounds)
But doing every heart and exploration in the game really makes levelling an alt that much more boring. You just repeat what you have done already on a different class.
Yeah, you would end up doing that anyway, but nowhere near as much.
My solution? Make it so when you level your alt in their respective race zones that it counts towards an account-wide World Explorer achievement. It’s not fun doing a newbie zone (or three) on my Guardian and then when I want to do something different, I end up doing the same thing I just did, just on a different class.
let me tell you thats exactly it. I cant even lvl an alt now. repeating the same content is booorrriiing. I think ill have to step away from the game till new content is here to lvl any alts.
And btw. WvW being included in 100% completion…….Stupid. It alone should be a seperate pvp achievement. B/c guess what. Its taking me longer to get those areas than doing the entire pve wide zones. Its stupid rng. And god forbid your on a crappy server that holds nothing.
