Maybe I don’t know about some underlying modifier but mathematically speaking, 51% crit chance is just as good as 99%. When you swing a weapon it either is or isn’t a hit so anything above more than half percentage wise is actually the same chance to hit. A higher percentage would only matter if there were more than two outcomes.
what….are you serious? Sure is or sin’t a crit but how often this happens DOES matter.
In 10 hits, you statistically get 5 crits in first case and let’s say 10 for the other.
If we assume 200% crit damager modifier with 100 damage base per hit this leads to:
- 100dmg * 5normal_hits + 100dmg * 5crit_hits * 2crit_mod = 1500
- 100dmg * 10crit_hits * 2crit_mod = 2000
Really the same thing…only 33% more damage è_è
Well the guy is partially correct, because at the moment of hit, it’s basically 50:50 (crit or hit), it’s like you are on the edge between two holes, but the one is larger than the other… but it doesn’t matter, because you are on the immediate edge between the two.

Only explanation apart from coolness would be to give enemies a hint of what legend do you have active.
Do enemies see any boon when you are in Shiro for example? Do they see the big pics above your head when invoking a legend (awesome btw)? Hear the sound? (I know you hear Elementalists – Feel the fires of Balthazar, etc., but didn’t really notice revenant).
Well, if you’d switch all jewels into Opals and weapons to Assasin’s, you are at 70% crit with Fury included, rest is still all Cavalier/Valk.
If you’d switch chest and all accessories to Assasin’s, you are looking at 98% crit, but no extra vit :< Still healthy armor though.
EDIT: hm, berserker has 93% crit if everything is berserker and same critdmg

With solid Fury supply and it giving 40%, what do you think of Cavalier armor + valkyrie trinkets with valk jewels, along with berserker weapons + runes of rage?

Is there some recommended ratio between crit chance and crit dmg? (like 1:10 in Diablo 3 for example)

Yeah, armorsmith can craft Boxes, which are up to 20 slot bags (18 slots cheap and cost effective), along with specials like Safe Box (items never appear in Sell window and don’t move when you Compact) and other kinds.
Realize most of your condis is Torment. Do you really feel like kiting around so the Torment procs properly?

If you spec for it you can have poison stack everytime you stack torment and on top of that they have an aoe burning thats highly spammable not too mention they can also have chill on every single crit and in the condition tree you get a ton of free crit chance for doing nothing but attacking.
Well Chill doesn’t do damage, so let’s leave that out. So you can stack poison on Torment, but that doesn’t change the fact, that Torment is doing only half of it’s potential damage, if the target is not moving.
I went full Zerk, but “had” to slot Dolyak Runes, because kitten hurts a lot and I had to focus on dodging, evading too much, no time to enjoy the pretty animations or Entropy + Mallyx R shine :-)

Axe has nice shadowstep, which easily puts you behind your target and the rift thingy on Axe 5 pull = drains defiance bar.

Sword 3 is turbo. Mace 1 and 3 is torment, do you really want to kite mobs in PvE? It looks like too much hassle…
What is expertise?
New stat, along with Concentration, which extends boon duration.
It needs to be said that these came at a cost – the % condi duration food was nerfed by 50% (it gave 40% condi dura, now 20%).
So if you want to spec for condi duration, you need to gear for it now, not just pop a nom.
Btw do we know if those 2 new stats will be added to Celestial, which is supposed to give a bit of everything?

Well, 1 ticket vs more… If you don’t buy keys and just got lucky once, I suppose it’s fair
I believe the sole reason is that engies have MANY skills, tons of their “classes” (gadget, elixir) are already improved by trait lines and it would kinda suck to have their class rune tied to one specific skill or even kit, it’s just too restricting for a class where basically every other has something different slotted.
I believe you should be happy, rather than complaining, because if you’d have your change then you’d be forced to use that skill boosted by 6th bonus or have 5 valid bonii only and then you might as well use other runeset.
Armor as you’d probably eventually very possibly want ascended armor… Then maybe cooking/jewelcrafting, as they are cheap to lvl up and will provide exp boost for your rev?

Con is that in pvp you won’t be able to kite and throw grenades behind you. :|
You can disable this action mode with keypress and use the old ways whenever you fancy.

As several weapons already have chains dangling and somewhat behaving according to physics, I imagine it wouldn’t be so hard, tech-wise?

That said, if datamines are true, well, we might get “snap ground target to currently selected target”, which will fix a lot of mobility issues anyway. And one can still do free-aimed shot without a target that way.

Well I have Razer mouse/keyboard so I can macro any key to anything so it hammers 1 in intervals exactly for cast time, but ofc I’d be happier if ANet put out for the rest of the players.
The difference between mobility with/without this solution is enormous. Unless that was actually the intention of devs, to have grenades strong but you need to trade mobility for it?
Is there any chance ANet is going to let us hold 1 and the grenades keep flying to one position?
Sometimes I like to stand there and watch them burn, but it hurts my fingers :-(
Adrenaline loss is a big issue for Berserker viability in open world PvE. Mobs die too fast to even get a full 3 bars of adrenaline, so you normally need to use your burst at ~2 bars, and you completely waste all the benefits you might get from Berserk mode.
Not only that, but also in WvW, when after endless fakes and moving around, it would be great time to Earthshake into them… only if you had some adrenaline! I even took Signet of Precision few times to have possibility to do burst skill of the bat. Stepping into AoE to proc Cleansing Ire is quite dangerous.

why? it’s better how it is now. The class has still many important problems, don’t nitpick guys.
I believe this is exact time to nitpick, you can tune the numbers anytime, but re-doing animation after release is very slim chance.
Can he just throw the hammer with vertical movement and then get it back appearing from the mists into his hand? Current animation is seriously lacking…
How viable you think is hammer/ s+s combination? I understand you lose a bit of mobility by switching GS for hammer, but then I love my hammer
