If I want to program my keyboard to use an ability why is that a problem. This has been done for years in gaming you are only at a disadvantage if you choose to be. If it’s fast to dodge by using my G10 key and G9 key to use elite if on cooldown use utility 9.

100% chance for a rare on champions would be a good start to making people want to kill them.

Champions should be something you want to do because you want to test yourself, if you are doing it for any other reason then don’t. If you need incentives to do in game content then you should really consider doing something else (not an absolute statement).

So, after you’ve done it once (to see if you could), no point in doing it again? That doesn’t help with wanting people to actually kill them instead of avoiding them.

Exactly. Fight one champion, you’ve basically fought them all in GW2. I haven’t seen any do anything besides hit people really hard. By them not dropping anything worth while, there is zero incentive to fight them. I think there is a segment here who really don’t understand the concept of incentives. It’s not about just loot. Also regarding farming champions for loot, what do you think people are doing to gain karma? Farming…because you HAVE TO in order to earn enough of it to buy anything worth while.

So farm for karma to buy lackluster gear or farm boses for something worth while? I’ll take both please so at least I have the chance to get something I want, since unles I start farming dungeons for weeks or months, what else is there to do PVE wise? Yes, you have to farm dungeons to earn gear too. Hello, this game has has a major gear treadmill. The difference here is the stats mean diddly compared to other MMOs. Is all about skins instead…so you trade one grin for another but it’s all the same.

You might get yelled at for not having your cool rose colored glasses on.

People don’t understand that concept.

Champion mobs alone aren’t fun it’s a gankfest they 1 or 2 shot you that isn’t fun. It’s just a kiting game with them and if you hit wild life or get to far you leash the mob or you chain pull adds.

Does GW2 have the content to keep a large player base?

‘’WoW has a subscription model that forces people into continuing to pay in order to be able to access the new content (gated dailies, etc). GW2 doesn’t have that subscription model, so the content argument is like comparing apples to oranges. GW2 is about having fun while you’re playing, WoW is about stringing your subscription along as long as humanly possible.’’

No it doesn’t because you can stop your sub any time you want. I payed for a month of game time and only played 2 weeks that’s my choice I don’t feel like I need to milk my 15 bucks worth every month.

@adic I’m done with your rose tinted glasses arguments you obviously are enlightened and have a higher sense of things.

Fact is the PvE isn’t challenging and doesn’t have no strategy involved in boss fights. The game is a karma grind instead of a gear grind.

Champions mobs are pointless to kill due to the loot table.

World bosses spawn to quickly and is a zerg fest from 1 dragon to the next.

WvW is a zerg fest with rendering issues

Spvp is a zerg fest

and Tpvp is all about thieves/mesmers and guardians.

none of that is including bugs/broken events/skill points/bots/exploiters/class balance and poor customer support.

The game is a month old but they need to make some big moves to keep/attract players to bring in more money.

Im still waiting for screen shots from someone of:
Their character select screen with all medals.
Their achievement screen showing all dungeon paths complete, all story paths complete, and all jumping puzzles complete.

Without those demonstrating you have completed all of the content, all criticisms that there is not enough content are invalid.

Time and time again we find out the players that say they are bored, and that there is nothing to do, rushed to 80 and treated the game like a wine tasting party. They tried the dungeons in story mode or ran the first chest of one path of a dungeon, so there’s no need to do the others. They did one jumping puzzle, no reason to do the others. They previewed the dungeon armor sets, so there’s nor reason to get them. Probably played one match of sPvP, concluded their class was under-powered and quit with an empty locker.

Yes there are things to do. And there is a difference between the game not having enough content, and the game not having enough of the type of content that you prefer. Maybe they will add more things later to satisfy different players individual tastes. The only people that will ever really be “up the creek without a paddle- thank you for your $60 – buhbye” are the ones that define their play time by stat based gear progression. Gw has never and will never be their cup of tea.

Ill use your argument for the game below

I play call of duty but I’m bored with it. Well someone told me I didn’t prestige 20 times/earn every title/achievement and get every emblem my argument is invalid.

I’m going to directly insult you by saying you are dumb to even think anyone argument is invalid because they didn’t 100% a game. Why the hell would you play a part of the game you don’t like.

Ex. 100% map completion

Edit
‘’In WoW, PvP, it’s grind the gear every week till max points, then the majority just stop playing till the next week…rinse…repeat. Once they get their gear, then they basically start complaining that they need something to do/grind for again and want more content. Same with PvE. You get the gear, once you get it, the majority stop playing until next content patch.’’

This is just absolutely wrong there was enough gear content for regular week grinds.

7 heroics = max for the week
2-3 raids = max for the week

Some people didn’t have the time to do all those things hence if they missed a week there is always next week ect.

Now Gw2 doesn’t have as much content as WoW yet but the dungeons are pointless and almost all the mobs have an insane amount of hp and waste your time. The dungeon rewards waste time. There is a karma grind in the game you heard it here GW2 is a karma treadmill.

1 million karma?
full cultural set 100+ gold.

If I do happen to get all my raid/heroic gear the game challenges you with raid hard modes and if you wasn’t in a good guild you had content and some decent guilds were stuck which means the game was challenging and the rewards were there if they could grab it.

The game is way too big with no purpose or progression at 80, which makes it a single player campaign for everyone but pvp’rs, which are a minority. The pvp is not my style so I won’t comment on that. (Come see me in TF2 if you think you’re quick.)

The only reason everyone is ticked off is that they were “sold” a persistent MMO. When people say, “Hey wait a minute…” they’re told it’s not a PVE game, or they played it “wrong” etc.

Also, they physical world is MUCH too big for the populations on the servers. They used a poor engine, and it’s left the world seeming desolate unless people are standing on top of you. Even when LA is packed you only “see” like 10 people max. WvW is just a joke because of those mechanics. I really can’t believe how poorly thought through that design choice was. So poor I find it hard to really care about the future of it. I do feel bad for the artists and designers who built the amazing world. It’s kind of tragic to see the mess the current team has reduced it to, and I’ll keep it in mind the next time NCSoft buys a company.

“Your choices determine how your personal story evolves; with thousands of possible variations, no two players will have the exact same experience.” = Trahearne?

“Your choices determine how your personal story evolves; with thousands of possible variations, no two players will have the exact same experience.”_ = Trahearne?

this upset me more than anything else about this game.

No thanks to specific unique drops from specific champions. That’s where all the other mmorpgs went wrong and why those mobs were constantly camped. Grind grind grind gotta kill Foombah the StupidlyTall till i get his rare toupee drop. /vomit.

Now a better chance at the random drops we usually get via quality or how often an item will drop would be spiffy because currently they’re not worth killing.

Then what’s the point of champion/veteran mobs other than to be annoying? We have enough mobs in dungeons with large damage/large health pools for no reason.

IMO the devs are doing to much as in trying to be different. Some people need a carrot on a stick to play the game and if they dropped good loot people would be willing to play that part of the game.

Also I ply the game 4 hours at day max. 3 hours in WvW and an hour of PvE/DE’s. So no way in hell that’s rushing. Also at ryth since i can’t quote You took my statement as a direct attack against you. ‘’If you know what you are doing’’ Truth is people who wander the game are not leveling efficiently and like I said before it’s foolish to believe people aren’t trying to level min/max. The game by design is so players don’t have an extreme leveling curve they said something like

‘’Going from 50-60 is the same as 70-80 time wise’’

You guys are cherry picking the devs clearly said play the game your way which means there are choices in how you want to play.

‘’You can say the game is not ment to…’’ you can’t state that because you don’t even know you are just going off the way you feel which is invalid.

Also at ryth the game WoW had a leveling curve so as you leveled you needed more xp and had to spend more time in. that’s why getting max level took longer it wasn’t because the players were amazed by the game and went slow it just took them longer than expected.

‘’When WoW came out, the normal play of most of at least my group of friends was a few 2-3 times a week and a few hours at those times. So maybe 6-10 hours a week on WoW. It took most something like 4-8 months to get their characters up to 60. In fact, everyone I knew took their time playing WoW until around BC where it became a nightly thing.
So again, in terms of what’s considered play time, anyone playing nightly and more then a few hours is in reality ‘rushing’ through the game.’’

This hit the nail on your argument you stated if people play outside your norm hours is rushing. Just because ’’YOUR’’ friends or ’’YOU’’ play X amount of time doesn’t mean i rushed. I could put 400 hours in and be level 40 but you put 300 hours in and hit 80 does that mean you rushed? No it doesn’ it just means I’m slower.

“Probably 90% of ALL bots are RANGERS using SHORTBOW. Why do you think that is? There are literally PACKS of them running in every zone. Why? Because it was TOO GOOD. When it is so good that it becomes the bot standard you had better expect the balance bat to fall your way.”

The reason most botters run with rangers is the “Search and Rescue” ability, which you will hear them spamming constantly. If one of the bots in the group goes down, the others can use search and rescue to rez him. There is also the fact that the pet tends to pull aggro off nearby mobs protecting the ranger.

I am seeing a lot of botters start to use other classes now. One botter I have seen for weeks in an area I farm who used to run exclusively ranger bot groups is now running with an elementalist, guardian and warrior team. It could just be there were no viable bot programs for the other classes before.

Doubt that bottting on a ele is a waste of time because of how frail they are. The bot would have to do to much to live. A SB ranger can kill any normal mob with the pet alive by auto attacking.

I agree with everything OP said up until he said endgame should be a adding to my character…

Now my question is, how does any other mmo make you continue your character? Please dont said RAID because nothing is more repetitive than that and doing things is GW2 is way better than when a raid dungeon is on farm

Let me reverse it what is there to do in gw2? Please don’t say map completion because I’m not a completionist. Dungeons/De’s are repetitive it’s the same as a raid on farm just with no strat involved.

I can’t farm ore/plants in orr because it looks like all the mobs are
A. Placed at least 3-5 mobs at each tree/node/plant
B. Placed random with a cut and paste tool
C Have to much pull/push/cripple abilities in 1 setting.

I can understand dodging mobs ect but I have to treat them like players and bring stun breakers/slows/chill ect just to mine a mithril mode and it’s just MITHIRL

All you guys screaming omg don’t rush it are slow levelers point blank if you were in a guild from day 1 that took the game serious you are lvl 80 in 3 weeks max

There’s your problem. This is a game, not a sporting event, why are you taking it serious? I’m sure you also enjoy competitive checkers, perhaps, but GW2 (the PvE anyways) just isn’t meant to be played like that.

Are you a dev? The game is ment to be played my way the players way that’s their design. I can’t believe I have to explain this by serious I mean plying the game as your main source of entertainment on a scale of I want to see what the end game ‘’lvl 80’’ has to offer. I’m sure we all seen the sweet armor sets and play hard to achieve it. I’m not calling you or Anet fools but it’s foolish to not be prepared or believe that players won’t come to this game and min/max the leveling curve and hit max level in less than a month just to give them a trollface.jpeg saying ‘’Lol you were always at end game’’ Then proceed with countless bugged events ect.

@Dittion you are saying no gear tread-mill but don’t give any other option. What is there to do the OP made that question clear. The answer is nothing the personal story sucked because of what it all leads to you can’t change the outcome. At early levels you feel important then bam you are nothing. WvW is broken on a large scale so that isn’t an option. PvP is only fine to the people that aren’t on the worst end of the stick Ele/necro, It’s a shame I have to reroll to enjoy Spvp or WvW when necros don’t even feel necromancer like they are basically mages with shadow power. Eles are just to weak and have low survivability and a low health pool regardless of what stat you stack.

Levelling isn’t an issue either I like it. But heart events are quests that you don’t have to talk tot he quest giver. If we remove the moral bar and add a number say 30 centaurs it will still be the same.

PvP needs a new game mode or maps and bug fixes for professions to be viable.

PvE Needs to let players play how they want. Farming, speed dungeons ect.
Note I don’t think skipping fights or getting bosses stuck is okay either. If my group to down CoF in 20 minutes due to our wit and skill then let us.

If they feel speed running is bad add more things to do at end game which is 80 don’t give me that end game is lvl 1 crap. If that was true the level system would be useless.

They also need to remove restrictions on traits I shouldn’t have to play it like a talent tree they was against it then implemented it.

WvW needs bug fixes and some classes are useless be it because slow ramp up time or utility/traits just don’t work.

Edit
@Roth dude it takes about 2-3 weeks o hit level 80 if you know what you’re doing and you are playing the game to level and craft/gather.

All you guys screaming omg don’t rush it are slow levelers point blank if you were in a guild from day 1 that took the game serious you are lvl 80 in 3 weeks max. with the designed lvling a month is more than enough time to max a toon out if you do dynamic events,WvW and hearts because at lvl 71 you can craft to 80 if you saved all your mats.

Edit #2 Wow dungeons took some sort of strat when it first came out. You couldn’t lolstomp your way through it like Gw2 most of the trash in Gw2 are time wasters they have large hp pools for no reason and the bosses are usually zergfest and some require coordination the gw2 dev team is just making us waste more time by stopping speed runs and offered DR on running a path we deem most efficient for our time/effort.

To counter speed running make boss fights require a strat every WoW dungeon encounter almost had a mechanic you had to be aware of be it constant aoe damage or a fire breath attack whatever.

Sometimes memory-issues won’t reveal themselves except under heavy stress. If you’re able and willing, I’d suggest something like an overnight run of MemTest86+ with its full suite of tests. Another option is to run a similarly long session of Prime95, which is highly sensitive to memory-errors.

This week so far has me a little sad in a way..the weekend started off with some amazing three way carnage and now it has devolved into this. I really don’t get why people just give up so easily.

Oh well.. Well done ET as you have some great fighters, teams and guilds and are able to motivate people well at all times. Your definitely tier 1 quality and I hope all of us at IoJ can match you in the future…

IoJ is basically doomed to fight these ET scumbags for the rest of eternity given the failure ranking system. After beating IoJ, ET will probably go up in rank and have to fight HoD or SBI/JQ in which case they’ll get kitten on, and then move back down and whaddaya know, get paired against IoJ again.

So i guess that means any server that gets dropped from tier 1 is kitten? If so then JQ is kitten right along with us and whoever didn’t make it to tier 1 is kitten.

If ET beats HoD they hacked/exploited i get your logic loud and clear buddy.

Yes, we’re already thinking ahead to esport commentating. It’s much easier for new players to see the blue/red teams.

Think about any sport you’ve ever watched. Imagine that each player could wear whatever they wanted to look bad kitten It’d be much harder to tell who’s on which team.

So for us, the blue/red essentially equates to team jerseys.

Etc.

If you are watching Esport material I’m sure you can distinguish teams from name colour and the roster listing before the game starts.

I have to admit, I never thought I’d see the day where people embraced the busywork and turned their noses up at the actual game, but here we are, I guess.

Gotta say I’ve been extremely surprised at this as well.

I love WoW, it it is a great polished game. When it came out really captured my imagination. Over the years though I’ve become very tired of keeping up with the fastest progressing players or trying to figure out how to come up with some formula for playing with my buddies who all play on different servers and different factions. I’ve ended up playing more standard multiplayer games because of it. For a lot of us I think it’s just exciting to see an MMO that is trying to spin that around and make a strong attempt to not keep us gated.

I desire more content and polish in the end game (who wouldn’t) but really for the first time feel like I can put this game down for a couple of months, wait for them to fix and add things then come back and see what’s there.

We are gated there are loads of restrictions on the way you actually want to play. I listed them above but ill recap.

Anti farm code
Punished for trying to get things done efficiently farming tokens/crafting mats
Personal story is the same for all races around level 40 It’s fun up until then
Everything that’s efficient is an exploit (Nearly)
The dungeon armor grind is worst than 2 WoW heroics put together.
World completion is not fun with heart events IMO I do like POI’s and vistas.
Orr is the only level 80 area
Mobs are stationed at nodes/trees/herbs at least 3+ most of the time (5+ in Orr)
Locked trait system ( changed from beta when you could pick any trait you wanted 10 points could get you the ’’Grandmaster’’ traits if you wanted) It’s now a boring talent tree.

I don’t mind slow patches I would rather slow big patches than fast small patches.

Same tired arguments for fan boys just because people don’t see it your way doesn’t mean they are wrong. if I don’t find some aspects of the game fun I can complain or make a suggestion on my forum account about the game I spent money on. I love how there is some forest only a few selected people can see through and everyone else is stuck in WoW limbo give me a break.

I don’t like spending 70 runs in 1 dungeon for gear that is worst than running a raid/heroics for gear

I don’t like the anti farm code to restrict my farming of crafting mats

Necro has tons of bugs and we mostly get tooltip fixes

I don’t want to get 100% world completion it’s just tedious to do heart events I don’t mind finding vistas and POI’s tho.

Spvp isn’t fun with the same maps and 1 game mode

WvW is to imbalanced but that isn’t an A-Net problem

That word adapted and exploited is used so often like it’s a new word discovered no I don’t have an issue ’’ADAPTING’’ if I did I wouldn’t have 5 toons I obviously like some aspects of the game and for the people that claims get a life if you have a maxed out toon you need to get over yourself. If in my game time I can get max level doesn’t mean I don’t have a life it’s the fact my life style enables me to play more than you.

From my understanding

You can’t adapt= You have an issue with a game I find so super and you must be in WoW limbo lolololol go play WoW

No life = kitten you can play more than me let me insult you

Exploit = If you find a efficient way to farm tokens/mats and tons of people didn’t find out about it and A-Net didn’t see that way of farming in the testing stage.

Well, if you think about it…the holy trinity of dps, tanking, and healing isn’t completely gone. Think carefully. An Elementalist is a hybrid class; perfectly capable of all 3 roles: Fire and Air Attunements for dps, Water for healing, and Earth for tanking. The holy trinity system is still there, but it’s just all lumped together within a single, given class – use the above as an example. Now, Mesmers, on the other hand, are all about control. Their attack skills usually “debuff” their enemies, as well as summoning illusions, for crowd control. Guardians are also a hybrid class; able to perform all 3 roles. Warriors can be used for tanking or dps. A Necromancer also uses crowd control, in the form of summoning her undead minions to attack for her. The only two classes that are solely used for damage, are the Ranger and the Thief. I hope you guys find my point of view to be an interesting outlook.

All callings can mitigate damage, support allies, control the enemy, and do respectable damage (Overtime or burst). It’s how you build your profession that matters, not predetermined roles given to you. How can you say Thieves are only damage when they have the most evades in the game? Ranger can also sick their tank pet on the mob, taking a couple hits for the team. Even Necromancers have a full health bar to fall back on via Death Shroud and a good number of their attacks siphon HP.

Dude for necros it takes about 20-30 hits to siphon 1000+ hp that isn’t even a viable option. Also death should is so weak you are basically buying time for your enemy heal ability to come off CD assuming you even damage him enough for him to have to use it.

Like I said before eles have to work 10x harder than every profession to receive the same or less results and have the lowest health.

It’s seriously not fun to re roll 5 alts just to end the story the same way I’ve seen 4 story lines and they are pretty cool until that sylvari guy just boots you out the story into a support character.

I don’t find it fun they limit my grinding if that’s the way I want to play. Why should I have to play the game their way when it’s advertised as play my way? If I want to run option #3 in CoF because it’s easier for me and my group why am I punished? If I want to farm mats for my crafting again I’m punished because Orr is the only level 80 zone with 5 mobs around every node/tree/plant.

Almost any MMO you play you have your area some like PvE some like PvP people like to do the following during THEIR game time
Farm mats or grind for mats
Run dungeons constantly at a fast pace for gear/tokens
PvP
explore but you can still avoid mobs but in some areas like Orr and malchors leap there is 7 mobs every few feet you are crippled, chilled, immobilized, pulled backwards you name it. It’s ridiculous they went overboard with the placement.

Barely achievement tracking and barely any titles. There is no point in having a title people can’t see it unless they click on you and to make it better you can’t inspect players gear. preview from the auction house doesn’t work.

I’m all for Gw2 but they are going to far and doing what they said they wasn’t going to do.
Traits are a talent tree they said I believe they wanted players to have free choice but then said to many options overwhelm new players and it prevents people from picking up the best traits in 1 line.

Trinity is gone but armor types/base health screws with balance.

In Gw2 right now the people that complain feel they don’t have a place to go in the game because every time you find something time efficient they take it away or make something harder. make a god kitten raid if you want extremely hard content I won’t complain Ill actually rise to the challenge.

Another issue I ran into was the personal story it was great until that one guy comes along and steals your mojo. From what I’ve read no matter what your choices are and what you chose at the start of your toon will always lead you to that guy. I thought I was a hero and felt important in my story until then. The game becomes about him and his story with you tacked on the side.

I don’t really care when they patch I just would like a time and date a patch would be deployed. I don’t want to randomly stop whatever I’m doing to relog I’d rather say ok the patch is at X time on X date and just plan around it. Random patches also screw up WvW matches if it’s a tight game.

No. I can kinda see where you’re coming from, but no. Heavy armor users have damage mitigation for survivability. Light armor users have dodge mechanics for survivability. Both should be able to “tank” (if the word must be used) just as well.

But they can’t tank an ele has to work 10x as hard as any profession to achieve the same goal be it damage or to survive. I’m not sure if armor is the issue but something has to be done about it.

I’m not sure if this has been suggested but since the queue can sometimes range from 5 mins or several hours some people like to tab out and surf the web. But that isn’t possible due to not knowing when you queue popped up or not a sound or noise should be played when it’s ready so sitting in queue wouldn’t be a waste if you decide to check an email or something.

I noticed on lower levels alts I get about 3-4 keys max then I go on a streak of never finding them. The stuff you get inside isn’t worth the cost of keys.

I wish they didn’t make it into a talent tree system. It was fine in BWE1 when you could choose whatever you wanted that was true customization, This system is a hidden talent tree.

A ele might be able to stack the same stats but will never be as durable as a heavy armor wearer. That’s a fact in PvE and PvP, My ele with 30 points in earth 20 in water I struggle against 2+ mobs with dodging and using utility my guardian and warrior can afk 1 spam 2 guys to death.

Not gonna lie, necro aint UP, its just buggy if anything. If you’re losing vs guardians, try adding corrupt boon to your bar.

Corrupt boon is buggy and sometimes doesn’t do anything.
