Moderators recently went to town with some of my posts. While i may disagree with their decision, i do have to admit the posts were questionable in their relevance to the topic at time.
But moderators should have names, so that if there have been five reports on the same moderator, there should be an investigation into what that moderator has done. there has to be a way of reporting moderators who took it too far without the potential of abuse, or reducing that potential to a minimum.
Detah, what would you suggest towards that?
That actually sounds good because they need a mod feedback system. Any kind will due at the current moment because it’s just out of hand the amount of infrations they just hand out and just randomly deleting non offensive posts.
Even if we do try to report the matter we have absolutely no way of identifying a moderator.
(edited by Detahmaio.2014)
I don’t really count on anything being done about this problem but it’s worth a shot anyway. It seems the mods just do whatever they want and use automated responses to justify it.
‘’Focus the necro first’’
I would of gladly edited my post or they could of deleted whatever they deemed bad which in all honesty I don’t see anything offensive about my post which is gone now btw.
We seriously need this feature added. They give out infractions and delete posts whenever they feel like it. I made a post giving my opinion on character skins and abilities and I was infracted and got my post deleted.
Maybe even give the moderators a name and feedback button I understand their job and all but it becomes very very annoying when you spend the time to type a lengthy opinion or answer and it gets deleted with a sad excuse as to why in your inbox.
Example in the Spvp forum one guy quoted someone and called him captain obvious and got edited/infracted but another guy quotes him and calls him a tool and nothing happens to him.

I love how this is a #1 priority hot fix when there are issues with skill delays or not firing when you activate it.
Oh shi there is a easier way to make gold have to fix it now or else people won’t buy worthless keys and dye packs.
I’m fine with quickness, it really helps take down bunkers quickly, however I’m not fine with time warp, it’s far too strong. And without a shadow of doubt quickness should not effect stomping or ressing, it’s so broken that it does atm and I hope ANet does change this…
Really? Then you’d rather die for good than having a chance of getting up to fight again?
Downed state is a “chance” of getting back to the fight and I don’t really think Anet should change some habilities to balance around it. Face downed state as “game over” and be grateful to your teammates if you actually make it back (heck, we should be grateful to anet it exists in the very first place!).
I’d rather die because my health bar showed me taking a killing blow. But it’s fine I guess it’s the way the game is now, Still oddly enough I sometimes don’t even bother doing anything in the downed state.
My issue is all the map gimmicks.
Battle of kyhlo is a good map but the treb is just annoying.
forest the npcs shouldn’t be there
Foefire again the keep lord shouldn’t be there
Capricorn the sharks shouldn’t be there.
3/4 maps is infested with PvE aspects which is terrible for a pvp environment.
If you remove the npcs from Forest,Foefire and capriocorn they are built the same there is nothing exciting about the maps.
Now WSG was a very simple map but had the aspect of running around in your base and you can even turtle a bit. Currently bunkers are just to strong for CTF and portals should be disabled or at least not let them carry items through it.
AB was great it had 5 cap points which made it so zergs simply couldn’t win if your team had back cappers. Also note to capture a spot they had to flip a flag or the team had to recap the flag to defend it. Currently no DR on CC will make this almost impossible to do.
We need more compact team play 3v3 style because what if you don’t have 5 dudes to tpvp with? You are forced to pug which can be a issue sometimes.
Also on the last note some classes CLEARLY have an advantage under water which slows because my necro stinks and the DS under water spells is absolute garbage.
they need to put an option to refund within 30 mins of purchase. If you buy the item and sell it back the next time you buy it, it’s yours to keep. I’m sure a ton of people would buy a piece of gear preview it change dye color ect to see if they like it or not.
Power builds are not terrible in pvp someones needs to Assess the way they use DS
I like how everyone who just LOVES gw2 has rose tinted glasses on and knows how the game is suppose to be played and who the game is ment to be played by.
I still won’t use lich in my power build.
In pve condition build is fine and all but building DS is annoying so Ill go power instead and do good damage and build LF rather easy.
No echra you don’t bring 2-3 professions up to match 1 you bring 1 down to match 3.
It’s not even about synergy it’s about the fact you can do more damage than a ele or necro with one hand while drinking fruit punch out of a cup with a bendy straw.
FYI i play
Necro>Thief>ele in pve
Ele>thief,Necro in pvp
Radeon 6950
15 chars
That’t what people want they want the bad as factor point blank. If I can make my toon have white flames on his sword or armor I’d work for it. IMO only 3 armor sets are nice.
Mind you I play a FEMALE asura and shares male armor skins
Light Ahrah Set
Light CoF
and light TA
Notice how all these armors are well defined and stand out.
TA –

Ahrah – http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/image514.png
CoF – http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/image508.png
These boring sets shouldn’t even be considered exotic skins they are VERY boring

Call me a bad or whatever but WoW had some pretty decent armor and it made me feel kitten.
I’m disappointed with
Asura female sharing male armor sets
Charr looks terrible in leather and goofy in cloth
Leather helms are just bandit masks (I kept my thief hood level 48)
Trench coats are the only thing I’d wear the other leather set looks bland for a thief.
Asura weapons look to small with no detail.
Asura weapons clip with cloth so you can’t see scepters, daggers, warhorns, focus.
Not sure if serious. The rifle skill hits pretty hard,Underwater stuns,Mace stuns,Longbow does burning damage,Axe does extra damage.
The healing ability heals more if you have more adrenaline. All those abilities listed on top have EFFECTS with EXTRA damage.
Dead is spot on with the answer.
All the Q&A is, Is rehashed information.
People complain that devs don’t talk enough, when the devs do talk they complain that they didn’t answer the question good enough.
People can never be happy.
If you aren’t answering questions with a full response then why bother to attempt to answer it. Not only does it annoy the person who asked it but everyone else who is waiting on the answer.
I’m not a fan of hosting a Q&A and then beating around the bush and or simply not answering questions.
They should be offering more armor like cultural but without the massive 20g a pop tag. If it was 5-10g a piece I’d be more inclined to spend my gold on it. There isn’t much of a reason to spend gold.
not everything can be solved with gold sinks. The issue is there is no reason to farm because ore/food is not scarce everyone can have it. The price of things move depending on time of day or day of the week.
Farming 500+ ore and selling it for 1g is terrible i’d rather spend 15 bucks and get 20 gold.
If you uncheck the meele target assist you can’t run through players/enemies if you target them.
its a PVP GAME…… the problem with the game NOW is that with all the players from WoW comming here and playing with us pvpers, you guys are AVOIDING COMBAT to score “points”
I cant tell you how many times I am at a node and someone runs up, sees me and runs away. or me and a team mate will walk up, see 2 other enemy and my team mate runs.
how many times have you been in a game and you take base A and the enemy takes base C, most people just go the back way to base A from C and its a constant swapping of bases with no combat.
its a pvp game, lets encourage MORE pvp.
To be fair, a K/D ratio will mostly only encourage the type of gameplay you despise (and I despise as well). Your teammate will run, or disengage at low health, rather than fight to the bitter end for that node, just to pad his K/D stat.
I watched it nonstop in my Modern Warfare days. Folks would strap on a sniper rifle and camp, completely ignoring map objectives and “winning” just to keep their K/D ratio high. So frustrating, it’s a video game, who cares how much you die!
In order to get to the top, you have to constantly challenge yourself, and one of the best ways to improve is to seek situations that you may very well lose in. If focus is put on KDR, then you are seeking situations which you have a high percentage of winning.
^this so much. D’you want to see even more backstab noob thieves in sPvP? Then add a K/D ratio stat and watch as everyone rolls a thief to they can stealth/runaway if you mess their combo up to protect their K/D stat…
I wonder what role you want a sniper to do? Run around lolsquickscopekillz?
K/D stat isn’t horrible
Damage/healing isn’t horrible
Win/Lose ratio isn’t horrible
Caps/Defends isn’t horrible
Adding defends/kills ratios would be fine because if you get a KB on a node it will show you are a defender or possibly a bunker. Caps mean you are a roamer or just run with a zerg.
You have a lot of healing and low damage support role is what you might be running. These are gauges and I accept with them open arms.
Fred Because waypoints and trait resets totally keep the economy in check. The players need to manage their own market. I highly doubt farming 100 mithril ore waypointing to lions arch or where ever a BLTP guy is selling that ore for 30s and then still getting carved 2-3s for waypoint and the trading post tax.
A-net is doing to much the trading tax/cut is fine alone but trait cost/waypoint like i said before is more annoying than anything else.
Funny thing is I only waypoint and I refuse to get the last trait book as level 80 because not only are my traits useless as a necro almost but IMO the game economy would be fine with taxed sales and repair costs.
Because at the end of the day the players will still decide if it’s worth to farm 250 mithril and sell it at 10c per. how would removing waypoint cost cause inflation that makes 0 sense.
So that’s basically a free farming signet.
Shouldn't attacks against stealthed Player Characters miss?

The issue is if a ranger or NPC uses Rapid fire and you stealth the attack will fixate on you regardless if you strafe from your last known location which is terrible design since stealth does drop target to begin with which means your toon according to game logic/game world doesn’t know where that other toon is but can finish the channelled rapid fire with success.
I agree with all the points. I can’t help but notice defenders of Gw2 game play seem to think they are tactical and master planners. Truth is it’s a veil you don’t have to plan out a move 2s is indeed chump change it’s just more annoying than anything else. You don’t need to say
‘’Man it’s 3s from orr to queensdale I should run to X place then port to Y place and only spend 1s on the waypoint’’
Adine champion should drop champion loot. That makes snese to doesn’t it?
I like the warriors shouts. It sounds good
Gaining adrenaline and adrenaline rising are my favourites.
add it and i hope they add healing/damage to counter the my K/D is low because I only play bunker.
2030 armor is about as glass cannon as you can get.
I would say that anything under 2400 armor is pretty glassy, 2400-2700 is hyrbrid and 2700+ is tanky. This is obviously not the complete story, the defensive and healing capabilities of your class are a large factor. A class with lots of protection/regen uptime or escapes can get away with having lower hps/armor than others and still be very tanky.
Funny thing is in Mists tell me how a scholar can get higher armor value?
This game has this fantastic new invention called CC removal. Try it.
Oh ok roll all defensive build and 3 defensive utility just to compete got cha.
All seriousness there is a problem with the pvp in this game most of the time people don’t complain if they are obviously playing mesmer, guardian, thief.
They are just the most enlightened players in the game I bet if it was switched to those 3 professions being useless and necros, rangers, eles were top dog then it would be a different story.
Good post. You had me until I read you said people complain about Ele kiting. If you complain about Ele anything, it’s a fail.
Other than that, I pretty much agree with you.
Ele’s are more then fine in tPvP. Even in their damage builds they bring a whole lot of support and healing via 10 points in Arcane and 15 points in Water. Not to mention their damage builds have most of the burst that other builds have. Honestly I think Engineers and Eles are probably the most powerful professions in the game for tPvP, and no one realizes it.
Ele have powerful burst? They must be glass cannon you can’t have both as a ele, You either spend points to do damage or survive and as it looks a lot of eles are running the same D/D build with points invested into water—>earth—>arcane. Also using more defensive slot upgrades.
- If at full health you consistently die by a single warrior’s hundred blades (particularly a warrior who is glass cannon), you’re probably glass cannon (or just glass).
- If you’re putting 60 points into the first two trait lines.
- If you’re not putting any points into the 3rd and/or 4th trait lines.
- If you’re wearing Berserker’s / Rampager’s.
- If your armor value is less than ~2.7k.
- If one of your utility skills gives Quickness.
- If you’re only using signets/mantras/elixirs — particularly damage-oriented ones.
- If the only thing you spam on your MH dagger thief is 2 and 3.
I guess 2k armor on a scholar profession is glass cannon.
PuB = “pick-up badies”
:)
Just sayin!
I suppose if the name fits
Although, to be fair, I’ve encountered some very good players in pug/pub sPvP matches on occasion. But when I get into a match thats 50-60% thieves (and mesmers, typically) I just roll me eyes, dust off my cantrip mousekeys and prepare to get jumped nonstop. I think something about playing an Elementalist makes thief opponents eyes light up, like they think I’m some sort of free kill (cause of my class).
Then they unleash their backstab combo, take 50% of my health, trigger my armor of earth (thanks for the stability buddy!), then I switch to water and heal myself to full almost as fast as they took it away. This is often when they choose to run away….
Edited to add: Oh, and if I see the thief coming, I like to put up shocking aura before they engage (I run D/D). Most noob thieves then proceed to waste their combo and stun themselves in the process. It’s the good ones that know to back off at that point that scare me…
Also that means you got lucky. My necro with 2k toughness got hit for with 2k steal 3k cloak and dagger 15k backstab.
Congrats. you died from a very difficult combo to pull off. That is if you didn’t stop moving when the theif stealthed. Oherwise you had a big bullseye on your back that says “STAB HERE”
If it was hard everyone wouldn’t be doing it. There are videos on how to do it and it’s pretty obvious what they are doing after dying 1-2 times from it.
I agree, thieves can reset fights too easily with stealth and have very high burst. I don’t think their burst is too much of a problem, it’s that they are not as vulnerable to counterattack if they fail as other burst classes.
They are frail and will die without resetting. The burst needs to be toned everything else is fine.
Human>Norm>Asura>Sylvari>Charr
My ele doesn’t get benefits for my offhand sigil in Spvp.
I believe I have the increased burn duration on main and + condition damage on the offhand.
Wail of doom also stops Npcs from moving for some reason. They just don’t move like they are stunned.
Makes me feel like I’m moving fast when I do it on my sylvari
This week’s matchup is a pretty big showcase of what’s wrong with Wv3 currently. Last two times we had this ET/CD/IoJ matchup it was two separate week-long curbstomps on ET’s part, leaving with almost twice the score of CD and IoJ combined. This week it’s a neck-and-neck race because ET lost their massive 24/7 coverage to fair-weather server hoppers.
Hope ANet fixes this ridiculous crap soon.
After ET lost their euro guilds they never had 24/7 coverage that’s why henge always jumped so high due to really no resistance at all.
ET lost at least 2-3 guilds so at night time they will get stomped. But they are holding well but the weekend is almost over.
I play necro a lot because I like how it plays. Sure, it would be more fun if it was way over-powered compared to any other profession but the fun would not last and everyone would be a necromancer. There is a lot going on that I like as it is. I am still learning how to use death shroud; mostly not waiting to use it just as a second health bar.
Earlier this week, a friend and I were comparing the guardian he’s starting with the necro I use as main and I pointed out that, together, they are vaguely like a red mage from FF with one being more focused on debuff and the other on buff. Having a heavy and light profession combine for conditions like that is part of what makes this game so different and interesting. Making use of all buffs, debuffs, and fields available, a medium armor profession can really do heavy damage.
Not overpowered just on par or bring them down to our level. As it stands we have no strengths and the necromancer profession feels like a tanky shadow mage. We barely do any necromancer kind of things.
I’d love to see wow pvpers/pve’ers vs gw2 pvpers/pve’ers and see who has the ability to adapt on the fly better.
WoW pve was just a rotation fest but the fights had mechanics. they got stale after you learned the mechanics and became a grind.
WoW pvp was about adpating and low ping of course. Quick reaction and a wrong call could get your healer switched bursted.
Gw2 pve is random attacks you just hit whatever ability that pops up. In reality it can go like this with dodging incorporated with no real hard boss mechanics
(auto attack) (2) (3) (4) (5) utility if required almost all elites are useless and don’t feel elite.
Gw2 pvp is just dodge the burst and counter with your own burst. You must have a bunker build on your squad to secure 1 spot. Mesmers are 100% required in WvW and Spvp.
I believe the devs are just to restricting of gameplay. I can’t use macros to improve myself I’m hindered because other people don’t want to rebind keys or come with with something to make themselves more efficient.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a macro like this
Keybind – G8 use utility 9 —-> If on cooldown use Utility 6 instead.
Or even a simple Keybind G5 swap to warhorn offhand if out of combat then G5 to activate locus swarm.
They already took away circle strafing and gave us something worst which is how stealth is registered in this game. Make thieves work for that backstab and if they don’t set us they are punished with initiative lost
You played WoW for 4 years and you think end game is sitting in Orgrimmar?
You love endgame for GW2 at lv.72?
You played ‘all’ your characters for 300 hours and at lv.72?
You don’t think in GW2 you have to farm marks/badges?
I don’t think we’re playing the same game
Karma farm also 1 million at each event giving 300
The Devs can respond for themselves. Also if John peters plays a necro then he would see all the class bugs and the inability to make different builds. We have so many people complaining about bugs/skills don’t work.
Another way to see if we need to be looked at is by visiting the pvp forum. If our class isn’t even mentioned as a problem for other professions/specs that is a issue. That means we excel at nothing or our presence isn’t known or cared about.
@terok
Thieves have power/condition/mobile/precision builds
Warriors have power/condition/precision builds
mesmer have power/condition/phantasm builds
Eles don’t have much of a choice to go toughness and still be glass cannon sorta
which is condiiton/power. They still lack options
necro has conditon/power but power isn’t to good and condition is the only remotely decent build. we lack options
Rangers have power/condition

The real problem here is invisible enemies. Give their algorithms time to match servers properly.

Dear all,
it’s funny because GuildWars2 only uses max. 4 GB of Ram and they want tell us the problem is loading textures from HDD?
I use a i7, GTX680, 16GB ram and a SSD, I can tell you it has nothing to do with the client hardware or client Internet connection.
Its all about the crappy engine which allows me only to have 20 – 25 FPS in Battles.
Funny thing is I use to get 40-60 fps in a 25 man raid in WoW as meele dps but In Gw2 with effects only and no models sub 30 fps.
The game is designed to have high risk/high reward builds available. GW1 was also like this. Millisecond reaction times were required, particularly of monks. This is not your typical mmo pvp combat. It’s true quickness like we have now did not exist in gw1, however its playstyle did exist, not only at the team level but also at individual.
Necro/ele don’t have high reward specs sorry.
