i’d only change its reta weakness – make it hit 5 times in 2,25 seconds like fumigate, not 10

well u dont use 1 kit forever – i made my predator for switchable stats and damage from rifle when i switch to it.

Celestial not easy to get, at least armor, so for start I would recommend u knight armor. In power/cele builds u can do both roaming and zerg, while in condi there is no use in zerg – 2 much cleaning

Please avoid comments like “it can fill every role everywhere” ’cause as much as it can be true a direct dps class will be better in 90% of the situations in dungeons and so on.
tl;dr What kind of role do you think the engineer is the best at and what kind of gear should I get for it?
engi are the best in putting up mortars and u need cele full ascended gear for that and double quip
i think there is no problem in crating while it allows u to win necros use lich form, eles summon elementals, mesmers moa, etc… engi just dont have 45 second cd elite like thiefs or warriors

Just some Qs:
— The way I understand, I really shouldn’t be defending a point because engis don’t really have stab and all that jazz. So what should happen if I’m the only one near a point and some d/d ele comes and starts crapping up the point with that fire field while chasing me with drake’s breath? My first idea would be to knock/pull them away but it’s not always successful.—Elixir S is a great skill, but I note that it will not contribute to point defense/captures; is this actually an issue?
— Is jump shot a legit gap closer? I guess I could use it to jump across various ledges.
— How do you not instantly die when a necro shows up? Every time a necro is on the other team, my chances of winning go down into the toilet. Everything else I can at least buy time for my team, but the necro just renders me ineffective. I get that necros beat engis 1v1, but they just fear me and my health just plummets even in a team situation. And as for power necros, they are easy to fight, but they will resort to lich form which seems to warrant me running away.
1) ur point defence comes from damage pressure – u can solo burst someone off the point realy quick+knock, pull, crate if u need. but no way u should stay under heavy pressure preventing point cast (unless help is comin)
2) not an issue at all – its timers wouldnt allow to make it neutral or capture it fully. but it will allow u to be alive and continue fight after invul/stealth.
3) yep, why not
4) lich – kite, hide, invul, block.
condi – manage healing turret cleanese cd (dont blow up turret), equip and use EG, pray

omg, some lazy people find annoying using boons on their selfs, thus far they think that their opinion should be read.
warriors wouldnt take GS +?/Horn becouse it is annoying to leap and blow the horn
guards wouldnt take shouts and stuff becouse they find it annoying to have perma-swiftness

In zerg you may run anything if you r not going to bring rally even full soldier with 20660
for sure second minor in Inventions is pretty good for zerg – second water field. But that kinda things wouldn’t help u in top 2 eu borders (deso and sfr)

man, you switch kits every 3-5 seconds, when that sigil will be triggered? it cant garantee you safe stomp as elexir S can (with invul or stealth)
go and try it at heart of the mists it takes about full napalm up time (10 sec).
also you can add Bomb2 fire field and blast it with ft2 again
and switch tk to thumper turret for 2 more blasts
man, blasting 4 (or even 5 or 6 – you can blast 2 ft2) blasts at fire field would take u so long… it is cool when you have long fire field and your party helps you to blast – by 1 or 2 blasts from a man, but it is awfully annoing to do it yourself.
it is surely not the best way to play engi, why may even you need so much might uptime?

tool belt skill grant you better burst chain (immob->jump shot->mine field blast)

both have blasts
both provides burning from tool belt
ft gives you (and allies) fire field to blast
ft gives you CC and range reflect
ft gives you blind
ft geals more damage
best in rocket boots is saving from cripple and imob, but u have riftle4 already, and with mine or ft u can do chain Detonate(300) or FT3(400) + Riftle4(+450+300) + EG4, which will give you up to 1600 or 1700 distance from your foe

Nah, man, I meant your single target pressure – u got only 3 big damage skills on big city and small amount of permanent damage(little amount of condi and rifle1). I don’t remember number of video but u and thief were fighting one ele for about 3 minutes and didn’t kill him. That is awful, seems u can’t solo anyone except maybe thief, or uplevelers. Try to get more damage skills – ft2, SD, mine.
man, your dps is realy aweful… if u dont like bombs or nades try SD or even FT…
u got so little pressure – it is about your mates to kill someone, u just cant realy hurt.
engi+thief that cant kill ele on their own supply – that makes me sad
and u need to try to build some rotation, cause u spend a lot of cd on nothing – for example use your magnet after net shot or overcharge then enemy wouldnt dodge it
use your blasts and leaps on your water – you can jump shot(or acid bomb) regenerating mist
on most videos i dont see you using food (condi duration + or -)
hoelbreak is ok for zerg melandru is also great
rifle stats depends, but predator alows to run any stats any time :P

Yep, u do it wrong. If u want to kill something instantly, you should go to power based build, rifle bombs flamethrower toolkit/elixir B, power crit chance crit damage.

and check your fps and latency lag – it may be an issue if you have that problem in fight only
it is realy bad
1) u nearly have no fury and got 4% crit chanse and run Explosives IX (IP) – it will nealy never proc
2) u have Power Shoes and Speedy Kits – they dont stack
3) u are too vulnurable to any crowd control chain, dont have any defensive traits (like Alchemy VI or Inventions IV) or runes (melandru)
4) not enough power to burst anyone with direct damage
5) dont have enough condi damage and duration to melt any one, also cant apply “on-crit” condis from IP and Sharpshooter
i cant see it killing anyone if he is not afk even bearbow ranger
