Daily Achievements should reset midnight "local time"

What I am asking for is a “local” reset time that is not in prime-time. I understand that some people play at odd hours, but most people will play in the evening hours. A reset anywhere between midnight and 4AM local, seems fair. An 8PM reset is not a good time.

It seems MMO gamers have become so used to the game telling us what to do, that when we get a game with no “training wheels”, many players are lost as to what they are actually meant to do in the game.

For years now we have become so trained to follow quest lines from zone to zone, and in some cases “complain” of leveling gaps in our game of choice, simply because we couldn’t find the next quest. This model of MMO design worked for years, but has become SO predictable and linear, you really do feel like you are on a single path behind all the other people going through the game in single file.

Now we have Guild Wars 2, a game without direction. Yes we have the Hearts, Vistas and points of interest. But these are just “pointers”, to help people begin to explore. They are NOT quest hubs, and they are NOT the path through the game. This game is about exploring, and making your own path. It really is up to the player, to direct their own experience.

If you like to explore and see whats around the next corner, interacting with random NPC’s , listening the their stories, helping with tasks and joining events, that are all completely optional, this game is a joy to play.

If you like to follow quest lines all the way to max level, and see max level as the “goal”, then this simply is not the game for you.

This game is about exploring and playing in the world ArenaNet has created, it was never about rushing to max level so you could do " end content". The entire game IS the content.

Thank you ArenaNet for giving us this jewel. Finally

Guild Wars 2 is universally acclaimed in Metacritic

Look at critic Vs player score for SW:TOR on metacritic (85 Vs 5.7) . Also do the same for The Secret World (73 Vs 8.3) GW2 stands at 8.4 for players, only just above TSW .

You have to experience a game for yourself, you simply can not go by a review to know if YOU would like it or not. A review is simply the view of the reviewer and their take on it.

Does somebody know of an awesome player-made game trailer? Or can somebody make a really great trailer for GW2, so I can show it to friends currently not playing the game.

I simply can’t use the “official” trailer to bring friends into the game. I need a trailer that shows just how great a game GW2 is, in all its glory !

Thanks.

Daily Achievements should reset midnight "local time"

My wife and I are having a great time playing Guild Wars 2. We are both working full time so our play time is limited to a few hours in the evening.

One issue we have run into is the 8PM EST reset time on Daily Achievements. When we get home from work, we have limited time to get these done before the 8PM reset. Trying to do the Daily Achievements after the 8pm reset isn’t always convenient either, because the reset time is right in the middle of our normal playtime.

I know completing dailies is optional, but if the reset time was later in the evening then we wouldn’t feel so “rushed” to log in as soon as we get home. I feel the Daily Achievement reward should be for playing every day, not for playing at a set time.

A “local” reset time of midnight, would be an awesome solution to this issue, and would move the rest window out of prime-time for the East coast.

Thanks for the amazing game you have created – we plan on playing this for a long time

Thank you!

What I love the most is how present and interactive they are. I love to see Gaile, Regina and all of the others posting and patiently dealing with our issues. And I just love how they actually listen to their players.

Some days ago, when I began receiving gold seller spam mail in the game, I sent a report ticket with a picture and a suggestion of a report mail functionality. Later that day I saw few players suggesting the same in community forums. The following day it was already in the game.

A while ago as well, some people made some posts about how they found the repeating queue pop ups annoying in overflow, and Arenanet gave us the “leave queue” option shortly after.

I mean, when we see things like this happening, as small as they may be, we already know that we’re not dealing with some of those ivory-tower developers who listen to no one but themselves. And we also know that they really are good at gathering important information and communicating that to developers themselves.

Heck, call me a fanboy if you will, but it’s hard not to be one when you’re dealing with people who make you feel that comfortable. I am willing to put all of my faith on this company.

When setting the UI to small, Large or Larger, the font on the Trading Post does not scale properly, it looks horrible and is hard to read. Using Normal UI size, the font is “okay” but still needs improvement.

All other fonts, including the Gem store scale just fine and are much easier to read than the Trading Post.
