Let’s be honest – when the game released we all had our expectations of how the competitive community would evolve and how the community could further the end-goal of competitive play within GW2. But some of us had our reservations even before release.
I’ll never forget my first BWE, I made one of each race – as the dancing was now relegated to race rather than class-specific. I made a male and female of each race and, much to my chagrin, the gender specific dances were removed in favor of a one-size-fits-all approach to dancing for each race.
There’s something not so forgiving about a female charr getting krunk on the steps of HotM alongside a male charr with the exact same dance.
Everyone here thinks people made all their builds with asura because of the difficulty in seeing animations…this could not be further from the truth. Fact of the matter, we all made asuras because of the dance – seriously.
No longer were there group dance sessions that bring us together. No longer were there festive dances for all seasons. No longer could players make montages of ridiculous dance crowds and boat parties. Gone are the days when we were cohesive and happy…all because of the change in the /dance.

And, yes, this is a pvp issue because I can no longer taunt with effective and summarily amazing dance choreographies.
