(And why do they call those things “warglaives” anyway? That’s not a glaive. Isn’t a real glaive essentially a polearm? It’s basically like a single-edged sword blade on the end of a staff.)
I was wondering the same. Also why "war"glaive? Are there any glaives used for anything besides war?
Yesh, I have a throwing Glaive in my room that’s used for decoration. Although it’s sharp enough to be used in war, but exist for love and peace. And prettyness. :o It’s not ugly like whatever these warglaives are.

a REAL Elite spec for Guards that actualy make sense………
Like 2handed Greatshields?
As stated before; Arsonist Thief: Main-Hand Torch.
You’re probably the pesky Thief I killed near fort with my venom burst when I saw you were bothering people. ;s Trap builds are so annoying to kill and all but you can simply just walk away from the slow damage with chin held high, shrugging off the pokes.
I’d rather be like a real Assassin from GW1.
I didn’t get to play much but I generally liked the Utilities but wasn’t sure about Fist Flurry. First impression was that the damage felt kinda low for a close range combo and urged me to swap it out quickly for a vanilla Utility.
I often play with Spider, and Devourer Venom and Impairing Daggers is awesome and easily replaces them in use, and with things like Jade Wind from Revenant I’m feeling pretty bad about Basilisk Venom’s existence. Venoms still offer more team support with Venom Share but without some love they’re going to fall off the map again with all these new elite specs around. I’ve seen people suggest combo fields added to them which could help.
The Heal was pretty good but I ended up using Hide in Shadows for fast condi removal. Would be cool if it did something like Pistol Whip to proc evades during channel if that isn’t too OP.. Maybe this is due to DD just not having enough on-use removal of damaging condi..
I was pretty satisfied with Staff overall, animations aside (which make me sad), with the exception of Staff 4. Without a combo field on it I couldn’t find it very useful. Without decent damage or a combo field I’d prefer just using Staff 3 to proc evade traits instead of using 4 to blind enemy. Either way I’m avoiding a hit so may as well use the better one.
The main mechanic change feels very underwhelming. All the other specs basically get an entirely new passive skill that adds whole new abilities but Thief just gets an extra dodge and nothing else, no skills or functionality at all to it. The Grandmaster Traits feel like a class mechanic but.. they’re traits. They should be built into the new 3Sectioned Endurance Bar and give us a changeable F3 button like Revenant’s legends.
As for the rest of the traits I feel like the “On Successful Evade” traits coulda been easily added/merged into Acrobatics and gave more room for more interesting traits for DD. Just doesn’t feel fresh and new when Acrobatics begged for it for so long and got nerfed into uselessness.

I like the effect. :o Thought it was the armor for a sec and was like these are neat gloves. XD
There’s so much of it now that they really should just delete stealth and redesign Thief as GW1 Assassin at this point if they are regretting it this much. Shoulda been that way from the beginning tbh.
The warglaives look bleh.
So A dagger skin like this maybe.
Bladed Tonfas? Would be useful on my Riou Genkaku cosplay character, except he’s a Warrior.
I really just want Land Spears since they’re already in game.
Daredevil seems fun and all but it really does feel like it’s just returning stuff that was already taken from us or should of existed in acrobatics already, like dropping condi on evades. Is there really a reason to use acrobatics at the moment? I may end up liking Revenant more. Not sure yet.

One thing to note is if someone doesn’t have 60~ Hero Points right off the bat~ like a newer player and unlocks the first Daredevil minor they aren’t really going to feel like they have much of a new mechanic till they reach Grandmaster traits. This makes Thief the only class to only receive half of their Elite Spec from their first minor instead of the whole thing.
I still want an Arsonist Thief Spec that main-hands Torch.
I’ve always assumed it was going to be released unfinished like most all online games nowadays and further developed later. :|
No one actually ever really finishes things anymoar. That would be silly.
It’s actually an.. Arrow Head. ._. cuz Guardian elite spec uses bow.
Revenant elite spec channels a Dragon and uses it’s power.
They should add Silkworm gathering nodes that I can stab with my Sickle and rip the silk from their buttz.
yes but gem shop exclusive . node for 2000 gems
But I meant scattered all over the world.
They should add Silkworm gathering nodes that I can stab with my Sickle and rip the silk from their buttz.
Nope. People still begging for it including myself. They didn’t like it cuz it destroyed the purity of pistols, whatever that means. They did go ahead and give Warrior Rifles a 1hit kill AoE though so whatever it means I’m pretty sure they don’t believe their own excuse.
I think staff AA does more damage than S/P,D/D etc.
Does that mean a venom build with staff could be highly molestive?
Now all we need are for venoms to make combo fields and were set!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Teef-SoT-Utilities-Elites-and-Weapons/first
That’s be amazing.
This change would make it truely feel like a new elite spec mechanic.
Judging by the Abaddon voting situation a while back, I don’t think anyone’s interested in them anymore. I welcome any new stuff involving them though.
One way to get a Bipedal charr is to make them an engineer and always use kits. you can’t holster a kit so they always have their hands full.
And if you trait streamlined kits you’ve virtually got permanent swiftness.
EDIT: Also I like the look of the new outfit we got.
the Wedding outfit for the charr is also awesome, when you dye it in the right colours.
the female one reminds me of asian clothing and the male one of greek or roman civil clothing…it is kind of cool.
the last new outfits also had something to overlap, so the tail doesn clip through the armor, I like that.
I like the Chef outfit on Charr so I can run around Naked with an awesome mask on. :o
Reminds me of Aion when they gave Sorcs, a class that already 1hit killed people, the ability to crit and do 4x a person’s max HP bar instead of 2×. Why buff something from instakill to instaoverkill?
guess they’re too fat to jump properly.
Sylvari Thief
Sylvari Guardian (was Norn but deleted)
Sylvari Necro
Sylvari Ranger
Sylvari Revenant
Human Warrior
Human Mesmer
Asura Elementalist
Charr Engineer
All male cuz I manly boi. /flex [emote not found]
It’s only way to get pvp Thieves to buy HoT.
1 man army. :o It doesn’t go above 6 nomatter what or duration just cant handle it? Should try it with a grp of other Thieves for the lulz.
Interesting though how they keep that RNG trait but remove Ricochet cuz of it’s RNG. :o
Breaks my heart. :<
Sylvari, followed closely by other Sylvari. Then Human, Asura, Charr, and Norn. If Norn actually looked like Braham does in the loading screen art I’d move them before or after Humans. ;o dem musclez.
Cuz payment authorization failed for some reason. ;x
It’s cuz they forgot the option to make them stand upright.
I was looking forward to making one that was like the Shaman types in GW1 but I wasn’t allowed.
They did make them stand more upright than the gw1 version. Look at a picture of Pyre Fierceshot as compared to a gw2 charr. The gw2 charr is much more upright, about midway between the Shaman type and the non caster type.
Pyre wasn’t one of the GW1 Charr who stood upright. There were 2 different types of Charr, as discussed many times on these forums. Originally people thought there’d be an option for which type in GW2.
Ummmm. That was sort of my point. That there were two postures in the original game and that they made the Guild Wars 2 Charr posture in between the posture of a non caster such as Pyre and the shaman class.
That has nothing to do with what I’m talking about though. I’m talking about upright VS hunched. No need to bring hunched but slightly less hunched but still hunched into the mix. Please stay on topic.

I know who I am. If I’m holding alt, I’m usually trying to find something. This isn’t helpful. :s
I have show items on Alt so I can find chests and such. This doesn’t interfere does it? :O
When can I finally Ninja? Maybe it’s due to the same racism that destroyed Cantha. Hopefully it will all one day return and restore us to our former glory.
Mr Putin, What do you think about this thief HoT situation?
I’m in tears, laughing at this thought:
In a new, awesome HoT Raid, massive AOE damage incomming, on Teamspeak:
Raid Lead: “Alright everyone bunker down, pop CD’s. Thiefs burn your dodges and initiative bar”
Guard: “Really?”
Raid Lead: “Ya”
Guard: “They burn their entire initiative bar? To evade all this I take it?”
Raid Lead: “Ya”
—As Thiefs flail about trying to evade it all…
Everyone not a Thief: “BAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!”Thief dies anyway because apparently you cant dodge all damage (thanks for that lovely piece of info during the twitch stream…)
DD is basket case and probably wont land a raid spot nearly as easily as other classes who just provide more than thieves do in their current state :/
Basket Case OP though. :o We’d never lose.
Haven’t found any. Keyfarming with alt was better than killing 1,000,000 enemies a day for 12 years before I find one via drop.
This is only thing GW2 desperately needs from Wildstar. Shirts are for casuals.
Sandbox Housing is welcome anywhere as well but baby steps.
Would be cool if they actually added bullet drop, instead of bullets just existing the plane of existence at end of range.
If you don’t feel like using a rapid mouse or autohotkey or anything, there’s always mouse keys~ Alt+Shift+Num Lock turns Num + into a double click. Then you can destroy a key that no one cares about.
Surprised Anet still hasn’t fixed this problem though. Need an Open All function. If inv is full it can just halt.
This types of threads are the reason, thief is in the state it’s in.
Amen. They probably never even seen a Pistol Thief, they just see the word “Buff” mixed with “Thief” and rage, regardless of what it was addressing. We’re just hated through sheer discrimination. The Buff isn’t even going to make me use them still, till they actually rework the skills and hopefully return deleted traits in some manner. Damage wasn’t only problem with Pistol.
Hold on, I found out what the boot is for!
He’s not wearing a Trenchcoat or Skirt so I approve of this boot.
It’s possible they tweaked/polished animation somewhere else in game and it impacted the Tonic that used similar mechanic. Just an idea in case they aren’t really haters for Quaggan sillyness. Would love if they actually added a /dance to tonics like that though that returned it.
(edited by Doggie.3184)
Now you know why I sold The Lover for Spark. At least it’s not as annoying as Quip.
Crossing my fingers for a non joke weapon for new SB legendary, otherwise Storm Wizard for Life.
Edit: oh I just realized… a “new” sound? they made it even more annoying? o.o
(edited by Doggie.3184)
They better not put the Greatsaw skin back in the game. I bought mine for an insanely amount of gold. It was a few hundred past a thousand.
I don’t want it back jus’ cause it’s loud and obnoxious.
Please save my Pistols. I miss pew pewing all over the place with SAB pistols. I need something to replace the fun Ricochet gave me if you’re not going to return it.
There’s no need to make it 100% single target for everything.
They shoulda made it a demon with horns so we can be cool and edgy.
So many bad puns to be had with that boot.
Can I have a Swimming Outfit for Halloween? I wanna go trick-or-treating as Haruka.
I’m outraged there’s no Fall Swimsuits in gem store today.
I can only imagine what kind of serious issue. Maybe characters were being born mutated and deformed by Mordremoth corruption. :O
Hope Trahearne and Canach get married afterwards.
