Guild Wars 2

I posted about this very topic not long ago. GOM had many groups of hackers...even whole guilds of them. Some of which have now moved to Darkhaven. I’m seeing it happen with the other servers we’re playing against also. Players hanging out inside walls, mesmers using known glitches to get into Stonemist inner and other places. It’s ridiculous.

Four people in my home play this game, and 0 will be buying an expansion if this isn’t stopped.

If Anet had eliminated or banned them, I would not be here asking. If there were not a plethora of players in certain guilds, on certain servers, who are well known for doing this, again, I would not question. If I did not know of specific people, who are not, and have not recently been banned, there would have been no need to ask.

Perhaps I should rephrase the question to ask which servers have the least tolerance for and instances of them.

It even lags when there is no zerg nearby…wondering if it has anything to do with the increased glitching? I’ve noticed more and more ‘phantom yaks’ and bugged upgrades as well.

First, are there any servers who don’t use them, and what can we do when “hack” guilds transfer to our server? I’m on a server that just had an influx of them.

It seems that nothing ever happens to those who participate. Does Anet even care?

I hope this means that siege will stop decaying so quickly! On the servers with lower populations and periods of inactivity, you can’t even leave to make and eat dinner without losing all your siege…it’s crazy. It shouldn’t decay at all…or should at least remain for several hours…people need to eat and sleep!

How about making different tiers of siege that decay at different lengths of time at least? Change the pricing and supply cost to reflect the different tiers.

Also, It’s tiring to play the same servers over and over and over and over….but, after facing these enemies for so long, most would not want to merge with them(especially the legit players wouldn’t want to be with those who are constantly using exploits.) Recruiting has become difficult, communication is nearly impossible. Small servers, and those with coverage gaps need a better way. Not everyone wants to leave their server because they like the community they play with….even though others have deserted out of sheer frustration at the wvw inactivity.

Perhaps they’re just not in demand here and they stopped carrying them online. I wish Anet would comment...

I’ve seen them at both Best Buy and Target recently. And I’d guess GameStop would also probably have them due to being a dedicated game store.

Wal Mart used to carry them, but I haven’t seen them there in ages. At least not either of the 2 I go to frequently.

It does seem somewhat individual store-dependent, though. My local Target doesn’t carry them any more, but a Target I went to a little further out the other day had them.

I’ve never seen them on sale before, so I can’t speak to sales specifically.

Not on any of the following web sites… Target, Walmart, GameStop. None of those stores carry them any longer according to the people I spoke with when I inquired.

Best Buy does have some at full price as you mentioned. Last year, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart all had them on sale. Best Buy’s sale lasted the longest. We bought several, and planned to buy 3 times as many this year if they were on sale because of having more family playing the game.

The endless doll tonic recipe is for sale in the BLTP. (Last I checked)

I have often bought gem cards at various retailers. At Christmas the cards have often been on sale for $5.00 cheaper, so, in the past, I have bought a bunch of them.

This year, I was planning to give some as gifts to 2 family members that now play. I am very disappointed that I can only buy them at one retailer(which is inconvenient for me to get to, and I avoid), and there were no sales. I may not buy any as a result.

Are the cards being phased out? Why only one retailer? Why no sales on gems? This makes gift giving MUCH more difficult.

Apparently you’ve not read the posts where MANY, including myself, who BUY Gems have stated that we exchange gold for gems, and it’s usually only in smaller increments. So yes, this DOES affect US.

Would cover most scenarios of needing to purchase gems and having to buy multiple 10 or 100 wouldn’t be a huge deal to me. Would be extremely easy to add to the new interface while appeasing experienced players.

How about they make the gems exactly like most other in game items? Sell them for the price we want and either buy outright, or request to buy them at a certain price? This way nobody has to learn a different buying/selling system, and EVERYONE can understand it. Nobody will have to guess the hidden reasoning for the fall and rise of gem prices. It will be the same as everything else.

Sometimes, we just want to buy 5 gems with gold. We should be able to do that.

Of course, they would always be purchased for cash as well…

I very rarely did gold > gem conversions, however when I did it was because I ended up with an odd amount of gems after buying something else. Obviously they don’t want me doing that anymore, judging from the information around the spike in gem prices plus the fixed amount of gems and the patronizing response here. Don’t worry I won’t be converting anymore gems with gold. I also won’t be buying anymore gems either. If you wanted to simplify the game for new users that’s fine, but don’t take away a function that the rest of us were using.

This is exactly what I did....usually after spending at least $20 to 30.00 first. I also liked being able to buy just 1 key at a time, or one new toy item, etc. I was one who had also bout a new character slot way back so I could do some occasional key runs...now not worth doing.

Dear Anet(and anyone else willing to read my spiel...yes I’m hoping Anet really will read this...but I won’t hold my breath.)

I’ve been a loyal customer since 2010...and with all the changes over the last few months, and broken promises, I’m finding fewer reasons to keep logging in After making a gem purchase nearly every month for a long while, I no longer feel like it. I now feel like you are forcing people to pay cash for gems. No new player(unless they are buying gold or botting) is going to have enough gold to convert in order to buy that new outfit for 700 gems. I for one, would rather save my ingame gold for other things.

Some say the answer is to farm more...not everyone has time farm wvw, world bosses, and dungeons so they can get a few worthless items (blues and greens, or maybe white). You’d think that 130%+ magic find would give you better odds, but, it really doesn’t.

Funny, our server played one server nearly every week. We saw, and some reported, many of them hacking/glitching right over the top of walls in Stonemist and other places....yet they were not disqualified. There isn’t even a place to properly report this behavior although people have been asking for it since the game came out.

Perhaps we could get that and other things fixed instead of having you fix things that were not broken to begin with? You have a loyal playerbase, but, people have been wandering away in search of something with more content. Recently, SWTOR players have been coming to check out GW2, don’t screw it up by now acting just like the other greedy game companies. Many of the veteran players came to Guild Wars 2 because Guild Wars is Different....and we LIKE it that way! The community was also generally different, and better, with little of the garbage found elsewhere.

While I’m at it, I really miss the neat FREE GIFTS we used t get at GW1...it kept people playing, and has them still occasionally revisiting the old game. It was imaginative and fun...not thrown together and so predictable.

...and whatever you do, Don’t increase prices on gem store items, or bundle more items together to compensate for the complaints from people stating they have extra gems.

The dev team typically takes a break around the holidays, so that might end up being a full month worth of Wintersday even if it doesn’t start until the 16th.

All well and good, but starting it earlier would give people a better chance to get some of the wintersday things before they travel, get new games as gifts, etc,

I have only bought one costume, and although I like the new one very much, I probably will not buy it for a few reasons. I like to be able to switch out individual pieces, not look exactly like everyone else...and more importantly, I don’t like being forced to spend money to buy gems. (I have bought many in the past when I didn’t feel forced).

I’m very disappointed again that we will have so little time to play. It’s the holiday season for many of us. This means travel, spending time with family, and preparations for both…including shopping(which can be very time consuming). Many of us will miss out again this year.

Why not the full month of December to give everyone ample time to get the rewards?

Ok, guys. Some of you are unhappy about this change, I can see that. BUT… quite honestly, most of you are sort of (I hate to use the word) ranting (sorry!) instead of offering suggestions.

I assure you, the team leader told me not 15 minutes ago, they will listen to suggestions.

• Does that mean you get everything you want? Probably not.
• Does that mean you should suggest something? Yes, of course! Because they’re expecting player input.

So you want lower increments? Think it through and present a suggestion! You want XYZ in the interface? Post that idea. You would rather see something else? Post what you think about that other thing. Please don’t get into the whole “I’m going to kick the devs and their little dogs, too” because it’s not doing you or us any good at all.

I’m not here to apologize. I’m here to communicate and right now, the communication is coming in without a whole lot of substance. Over to you for suggestions and constructive input!

Suggestions:

1. Make buying/selling gems like every other item in the gem store and let us set the prices for however many Gems we want to buy or sell.

2. Don’t force us to have to spend cash in order to get items we’d like to have. Many of us choose to spend here and there when we can afford to. Not everyone can farm for hours on end many days a week to get enough gold to buy 400 gems so they can hope for a chance of getting enough BL ticket scraps to get that 1 skin they want.

3. Give us sales on Gems periodically.

4. Last, and most importantly, stop making veteran gamers, who came here because this game was touted to be so different, feel as if you no longer care if they play or not by dumbing down the things we’ve all managed to accomplish.

The new currency exchange WOULD be fine, if it was a new sub tab. Adding the quick exchange is cool and all, but it forces players to convert 70-80g to 400 gems just to buy a booster, phantom hood, or a Foil-Wrapped Candy… How do we know if we are buying gems during the peak or not? Oh right, we can’t because the price graph is gone…

I was thinking of buying the game for 2 family members for Christmas. I’ve changed my mind. I know they’ll want gem store items and the pricing is not out of reach for me to buy with ingame gold.

I usually buy gems when I can, but, I liked being able to purchase a few here and there with in game gold to supplement the cash. Anyone who doesn’t have a bunch of cash to throw around has little chance to get Black Lion items now....I thought Anet once said they weren’t going to do that.

I’ll be honest I HATE pay-to-win type games, and this is becoming one...might be time to start looking elsewhere.

I’m on one of the lower population servers that has seen at least 6 large guilds leaves over the course of spring/summer. Wvw is nearly pointless if you’re not on during the server’s peak times, especially with no rewards for building siege, refreshing siege, or upgrading anything.

There’s also no way of contacting people on your server to join wvw without alerting ’enemy servers’ unless they are in your guild or on your FL.

I’m not a person who switches games often, but, at the current time, the game has become stale for me. Guesting on another server is pointless with the megaservers and the inability to wvw as a guest. I refuse to pay for a transfer unless I’m sure that the server I transfer to is what I am seeking in wvw.

I’d like to propose a couple fixes:

1. Give us the option for server chat(like say, guild, map, etc).

2. Consider closing down 3 servers and allow people on those servers to transfer freely for a few months among the servers which are to remain. The exception to this could be transfers to already full servers.

3. Make defense in wvw something worth pursuing, instead of having wvw a constant karma train. Also make siege last longer than an hour. When a server has few people on, it’s not long enough to be able to accomplish much if you have to head back to refresh your siege nearly constantly, and nobody wants to miss out on the karma and drops to do it.

I was recently looking for skins I had bought because of an upcoming guild event, and could not find the Sylvari skins I should have. It shows that I have unlocked many in the fashion achievement accomplishment. I then made a report.

After this time I checked my human, again, I have many skins unlocked in the fashion tab, but, not nearly as many on my characters. The heritage items did not appear, easily fixed, and my unlocked rewards are also not all unlocked. My pvp rewards, although I went in on each character right away, are no longer there. I recently had to go back into the mists, and a few unlocked that I had in my inventory, but, nothing near what I had in my locker.

I’m very disappointed to be out both the money and the skins.. I have very few now, and I’ve been playing since pre-release.. I have no idea when they ceased to exist....I haven’t used the wardrobe in quite a long time..

Any ideas?

No, I wasn’t totally satisfied, but accepted it because I had no other options, and it didn’t seem as if any options were coming soon. If I had known I could wait a couple days and get more options, I would have.

You assume I have enough in game gold to make such a purchase or the time to farm a ton of gold. In case you hadn’t noticed, the gems are quite expensive.

ANET really dropped the ball with the (non)announcement of the new hairstyles coming out with this patch. Usually, there is a nice lead up to the upcoming updates and we have some idea of what we can look forward to.

I personally have used 2 Makeover Kits in the last week or so. One was just over 24 hours before the announce. I never would have used either of the kits if I had known what was in store.

It would show good customer relations to reimburse those of us who’ve used our kits within a week of the patch.

They told us they were coming… Just not when. That’s why I saved mine.

Still, if they had told/reminded us a week ago that these were coming now, I’d have saved mine. I used a Makeover Kit 3 days ago.

The new hairstyles are great, but, not telling us they were coming really sucks for those people who JUST used a Total Makeover Kit within the last week.

Can we get a refund on those?

I bought and used a Total Makeover Kit for my Sylvari because in the original character creation, it didn’t quite come out looking the way I anticipated.

The character I ended up with in the game does not look much like the finished product I thought I had created.

The game reset my character’s physique, although I did not select a new one.

My character’s eyes are a completely different color than I selected.

The glow did not work at all.

The facial structure does not match the choices which were appearing on my screen.

My character also appears a bit different in game than she does on the HERO screen…

My character now looks MUCH worse than she did to begin with.

While making the changes to my character, the game countdown to kick started..I was in Lion’s Arch and not inactive for too long…but since I had just paid for this feature, I wanted to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it.

Lastly, I submitted a ticket in game…with a screenshot, and it doesn’t show up on my account., nor does the screenshot appear in my PC, I also posted about it in the Bug Forum, but, that post is now gone along with the posts made by several other people on the same topic who had similar issues..

I got a response on my ticket… It thanked me for submitting the problem, and told me to submit it through the game next time…which I already had. I replied asking for my gems back or to have a new pack sent to my main character. =(

Also, I had created a topic in this forum detailing the problem, and it’s gone now! I saw several others did as well…also gone, and I don’t see a merged topic. =.=
