Unique Skills for Legendary and Named Weapons

While I originally thought it might be cool if the legendaries have their own unique ability of sorts, this will probably not happen. At any rate, I would say to aim for getting unique skins for skills, as some legends already do.
Like if using Sunrise with a Mesmer, the laser-beam skill(forget the name) would turn into a ray of light, or something like that.

Hn, I was simply thinking, in fact I was hoping a long while back, that it would be cool to have lances(spears for land, not jousting) implemented into the game as a new type/set of weapons. However, this is still a juvenile thought in process, so I’m wondering what you guys think of this, whether it be reasons why GW2 doesn’t need lances or suggestions to what lances could/should be like if put in.

Charr vs Human vs Asura vs Norn

After reentering their city via Beetlerun, the newly joined Human forces will help hold the city against the endless golem army of the Asura. The Charr would take the Southern pass of Gendarran Fields into Kessex Hills, at which point they would head north into Queensdale. They would do this instead of heading north into Queensdale to avoid being caught between the Asura and Humans. Instead, though, the Asura will now be caught between the Charr and Humans, in which case the Charr will hold their forces as to wait for the Humans to weaken just enough before taking the Asura from the south, knowing it unwise to wait too long or else the Asura will be able to create a stronghold with their near endless resources from Rata Sum. With this, the Humans will sweep down from the east with the west easily guarded with the mountains, using this opportunity to make a push and retake Shaemoor Garrison as a base and then heading east before sweeping further south-west to force the Asura and Charr into the peninsula then into Claypool, in which the Charr will move their forces to fortify the water-bound land and Claypool while hijacking the Asuran Gates via blitz before they shut them down as to go straight into the front doors of Rata Sum. This method will put them in a dual-stage situation to face both the Human and Asuran city at the same time, using the Asura Gates to feed their supplies from Queensdale to their forces at Rata Sum. This splits the Charr forces along between these, risky yet they wouldn’t wish to lose the chance of holding a path straight to Rata Sum with their supply-line stretched already as it is and not wishing to stretch it even more when going through the forests and jungle of Caledon. They will be put at a draw on both fronts due to the Humans using their advantageous position to sabotage their base and hold their own, as well as the advanced magi-technology of the Asura putting the Charr at wits end on the other end.
From then on, it is a standstill.

With the news of the siege, Humans in Gendarran Fields that are focused on the Charr will be unable to turn to retreat immediately back to Divinity Reach to break the Siege, however instead they will start by burning the northern bridge across the Witherflank River before focusing their forces south to push the Charr into moving around them north into Provern Shore, a narrow pass of land that will make it difficult to move large forces and also a body of water between it and the Vigilant Hills without a bridge, forcing a slow to the Charr, which would have seen it as too hard to break the defense in the southern region due to the more concentrated forces there now. During this time, the Humans would steadily draw back their forces into the Ascalon Settlement and Nebo Terrace to take Guardian’s Pass, letting them take the Shire of Beetlerun as a hold in Queensdale to help their forces back into Divinity Reach while the Charr are busy dealing with the Ascalon Settlement and Nebo Terrace, as well as the Witherflank River of which all the bridges except the south-most bridge(Lionsbridge Expanse) would have been burnt with the final retreat, causing a major slow for the Charr expansion.

The Asura have a much greater sense of technology, so if they move out with multiple smaller teams, they can keep the majority of their people and forces in Rata Sum until those teams have set up Wayward Points and Asura Gates to allow them to move massive forces of their golems and some commanders to lead these golems into battle. This would give way to the invasion of Queensdale to occupy Human provinces. However, due to the Golems’ predictability and, while powerful, less versatility, the Humans will be able to hold their own for a while, however due to the near endless amount and continuous flow in of golem forces from Rata Sum, the Humans will not be able to hold out forever and the siege will be hard to break.

Humans, during the Charr expansion west, would begin their defenses through the Gendarren Fields, setting up siege machines one the western shores of Lake Bounty and Gendarr, along with the Brigantine Isles, and also naval units in said bodies of water as to set up a wall of defense against the Charr war machines. They would send scouts of Adventurers into the Mountains to scout the movements of the Charr, however require Soldiers to go in these teams as well to help deal support the teams against Norn ambushes, as Scholars are better suited for large-scale battles than stealth operations. This “Lake Defense” will hold off the Charr for a while.

However, for the Charr to move their forces to the Humans in the first place, they’d have to move through Hoelbrak first and Norn territory, thus they’d be forced through the cold and mountainous regions along with being subject to guerrilla warfare by the Norns. The Norns have both the advantage of their transformations, giving them adaptability in certain areas and better survival instincts, and their companions, the Norn will be able to severely weaken the Charr forces while they move in to take the city. Hoelbrak, however, is not a normal city in the fact that it is naturally made with Mountain’s as it’s walls, therefore making it hard to “put under siege” or break. Most likely, the Charr will create a supply route with multiple fort-camps throughout the mountain paths to lead to a main foothold fort outside of Hoelbrak on one side of a mountain, then will begin to dig through in attempt to tunnel into the Norn city. While supply will be difficult as well as facing the environment and spontaneous attacks of the Norn, the Charr will likely break through eventually due to their industrial technology and enter a battle within Hoelbrak through the tunnel. With discipline and training of the Blood Legion, they will likely take the city and use it as their new major foothold when they move on to set siege to Divinity Reach. However, due to the fact that Norns aren’t all situated so densely in Hoelbrak and have multiple holds and villages and camps throughout the mountains, they will continuously pester the supplies and holds of the Charrs, in which case the Charr would have their Ash Legion scout to locate and purge and counter the Norn retaliation, which won’t be easy due to their affinity with nature in those mountains. They would move their remaining forces into the plains of Human land.

Multi-Section Simulation:
The Charr would likely start with Humans given the geography between them is good for their large tanks due to the flatter ground and wider spaces. They would ultimately use their forces and superior military power and mobility to put the Humans on the defensive, which is likely due to the Human’s lack of such ridiculous military power, however possessing a gigantic castle-city to help defend themselves. With that, the Charr will put the Humans under siege while the Human Guard and Shining Blades defend the city, along with the fact that(most likely) there are more Human Scholars than Charr Scholars due to their strong association with their gods making them lean more towards the use of magic, giving humans a good balance of strengths to hold their own.

6th playable race, what's your top 3 pick?

Any race in the Racial Sympathy is extremely unlikely to become a playable race ever since they’re part of the personal story to recruit them in the first place. There is also the fact that most of these guys don’t where clothes nor have cities to act as the starting point.

6th playable race, what's your top 3 pick?

1. Tengu- These guys are the most likely, with their city area and lore all settled for them. They’re already pretty integrated in the world so fitting them in won’t be so much of a problem.

2. Largos- They have lore, internal factions, and a reason to join the fight, along with the needed feature for any playable race of have opposable thumbs, they’re unique so it won’t be a rip-off of the other races and it might be nice to have a aquatic-based city.

3. Kodan- While I think customization might be hard, if ANet comes up with a way to make each Kodan more distinctive as individuals it is a likely possibility. They can create a Sanctuary for a city and have them join in a battle against Jormag.

4. Mursaat- While more unlikely, I think it might be cool for these guys to make an appearance given their connection with the Fractals of the Mist.

I believe he meant he disliked the need for a party to help in the battle and thought it would be better if it was just your character and the NPCs throughout their story, more personalized.
I myself pictured before the release that the Elder Dragon fights would be on the same level as WvW, more like the Lost Shores event, however irrelevant this opinion might be from the actual topic.

I believe mounts should be possible, but it is, as everyone has said, annoying to an extent due to no real reason for them. So my idea would be to have them be Legendaries, maybe 1-2 for each race that would use a specific mini-pet in the Mystic Forge along with the usual Legendary formula. Horses for Humans, Griffins for Norn, Golem-Scooters for Asura, Plant-Horses for Sylvari, and Motorcycle-like machines for Chars. Or something like that. They’d be alternate Legendaries for anyone who’d prefer travel devices over weapons.

If not, gaining mounts for an in-game mini-game might also be plausible. Maybe they could even create a new series of achievements like that for Jump Puzzles, like specific places and Instances that you can use a mount in.

Motorcycles,scooters….See..please stop suggesting them before anet goes nuts and might actually implement this crap… :/ Who in their right minds would like see motorcycles and scooters in gw2 ??? wth…..

The Char have tanks(among other things) and are in the industrial era, so I didn’t mean like an actual modern-day motorcycle and scooters, nor do I say having mounts going around normally is a good or bad thing(leaning towards bad), I was simply suggesting that if mounts are implemented that special circumstances be met if one were to get one.
