How to balance rapid fire

This is how you balance rapid fire = reduce the vulnerability stacks from 10 to 6 or 5.

Or remove vulnerability all together, and increse the damage by 7% to 10%

Hey everyone!

I’ve recently got back into the game after a long break and was wondering about creating a new class to play. Right now I’ve been bouncing around Warrior, Guardian, and Thief. But I also wanted to take the time and find out about the classes you play and why you play them!

For me right now I personally really enjoy the Guardian. It was the first character I created and the one I will continue to always play. I attached a screenshot of her.

I playing Guardian because I love being able to support my party while also being able to smite my foes with the holy flames of justice :p

I don’t know about you guys but this has been something that has been bugging me since beta. It’s great that with a click of an option you can send all of your collectibles to the bank, however would it be possible to exclude a few collectibles to go to the bank?

Examples: Mini pets (This is the main reason why people don’t take out there mini pets)
Pristine Toxic spore sample ( This I found most annoying considering you can use this to purchase mysterious keys)

There are many other examples but these are the only ones that come to mind that I care about currently. This would also save a lot of time having to go back and forth to your bank and back into the game. Just an idea for a small quality of life update.

Guardian was already my main, by far my favorite. But I’ve been playing her since launch and don’t have any other level 80’s. I have a low level ele but I have yet to give necro a try. I loved necro is gw1. It was my main for a while until I started playing warrior dagger hammer knocklock
I hear a lot of people bash on necro’s but I know ele is powerful. In pvp on my guard whenever I fought one we just couldn’t kill each other, it always ended up being team fights a few moments later.
I want to know why people dislike necros so much compared to other casters.

Hi everyone and anyone,

I took a break from the game for a little while and wanted to come back for some pvp action. I was hoping to start a new character but was wondering on which class that new character should be.

From everyone’s “experiences,” which class or classes would they consider a solid pvp class in both structured and in WvW?

I ask this be a well thought out considerate discussion. Pros and Cons of your favored class or classes.

Thanks

After a little while, its not that hard. Building your character to just do dps is a mistake a lot of people make. If you’re not ready to start dodging, kiting, and timing cooldowns, you will die a lot.

Also knowing the encounters and learning from mistakes will see you through. It’s all possible.

Anet said they were going to be adding a lot more stuff for spvp, they even wrote a blog about it twice. They didn’t release to many details on its final state but they are definitely working on improving things and adding more features.

Thats the blog they wrote.

In gw1 there was a hard mode and a normal mode. After completing a dungeon, adding a optional hard mode for better rewards would be nice for players looking for a more difficult challenge.

In the future I agree with what Amra said. Adding some challenges to new dungeons that change up the whole kill everything affair would make dungeons more interesting.

In guild wars 1 they had a vanquisher title where if you killed every mob in the map you’d get exp, money, and a little closer to achieving the title based off of different maps.

I think it would be a great idea to add this into dungeons but offer better rewards for killing every living thing in these dungeons to give players a reason to not skip content.

At the same time I think this idea if implemented should be optional, and should not in any way mess with the end reward for actually completing the dungeon but be separate.

The title says it all. This would be really useful for those who want to try before they buy. Weapons and armor of course.

Are guardians really this good?

If played well any class can solo a champ. As for guards, I’ve been playing them since beta and I can tell you they would have an easier time soloing alot of content. Even in an offensive build if you spec into toughness, power, and crit you could solo champs with timing.

Its encouraged to play different classes to find which play style works best for you. But just because they don’t have a good enough ranged weapon doesn’t mean you should give up on it. They are fantastic in pretty much everything else.

Guards are still very good in world vs world if built right. I spec for damage and survival and do just fine. They shine in small fights and in 1 vs 1. The range might not be the best but Its still useful.
In tpvp there must haves! and in spvp they can hold their own against everyone to the point where people always target you last.
In pve they can solo almost every mob besides encounters you find in dungeons.

I remember during the betas arena net said they can’t add any more weapons to the game because of bandwidth at this time. But I believe they will add more weapons into the game later on to keep classes interesting while expanding content.

As for the scepter, they could slow the rate of fire but increase the speed of the fire.

i just wanna say that this class is boss

I’ve played guard in all betas and lvled a guard to 80 once the game was out. They are by far my favorite class.

If you build a guard for damage they can do really high damage, classes like the warrior might do it better, but they have to go full glass cannon to achieve it. Where as if you were a guard and went all dps, you can still outlive the warrior. Gotta play smart.

For support, guard I would say is best at this. If you build for support your team will do better, if you build for damage mobs or enemy teams will take more damage depending on if you and the rest of your team are alive to do it.

This makes guards more in demand then other classes, but mainly for support.
Do what I did, gather two sets of armor and jewelry. One for dps and the other for support. Mix and match which sets appeal to your play style and for what your about to do.
Zeal for your sustained damage
Radiance for your burst
Valor to make you tough
Honor to keep you up
And virtues as a bonus
