Absolutely, never understood why they didn’t implement it. It’s fairly standard in every MMO. Maybe Anet likes non cluttered UIs, but at least let us customize it… Side tool bars for Toys, Consumables, Tonics etc. would be a bliss! It’s horrible to open the kitten ‘i’-menu all the time to use items like the Birthday Cannon.
Yes! Please Anet take this into consideration at least :-) and thank you for everything else!
For things like foods, and other “use” items that can be bought from vendors in the world. Like at Diessa Plateau there’s a firebomb you can buy from a vendor with Karma, but when would it be likely to open my inventory during a fight to “use” it? A UI update with drag and drop slots for these things would be more intuitive, no? :-) thank you for reading.
I felt the same when I tried using the tomes, I got all these new abilities in the middle of a fight and had no idea what they did, how they behaved and no time to read the tooltips. nex thing I knew the duration was over and I had to wait several minutes to try again.
exactly what prompted me to make the thread. I hope they see this and take it into consideration :-)
In PVE may we have a longer duration on this elite skill? the very short 20 seconds is making it difficult to learn to use it effectively, or even just a decrease in the cooldown.
I was thinking, how fitting it would be if my Sylvarri guardian emitted green effects instead of blue. Someones preference might be red, orange, or something else. Purely cosmetic, but i think it would add more variety and give new character ideas (in a pure RP sense)
Especially running mace/shield in PVE it can feel a bit sluggish moving from mob to mob. The current shield bash is ok, but i feel like the range could use a slight buff so that i can clear enough ground to make impact. As it is now, mobs sit just slightly outside the range, and a lot of the time the attack does not connect.
With that said, I’m unsure what this will do to balance in PVP..
I was thinking, how it would be useful if condition effect applied to our pets appeared just over the pet menu down the bottom of the HUD. Using the bear and it’s “Shake it off” ability, it’s almost useless when i can’t find the right timing to use it. (as it is now, i have to manually click on my bear and look at the top. not useful at all in the middle of a fight!)
Hi,
So these are rare status and I’m building up quite a lot of them in my bank, seeing as they don’t get added to my collecting. I’m wondering if I should just throw them away or upgrade my bank space?
Chris,
GUILD WARS 2 IS FUN & AWESOME!
That is all.

So playing my first warrior exploring the PVE maps I realized, what is the point of Banners having a limited lifetime and then 30 seconds left to spawn a new one?
Would it be better to enter a map, place down a banner, then carry around on your entire adventure around the map? Instead of it being on a timer before disappearing, it could just disappear if you abandon it too long.
A simple change that I think PVE warriors would enjoy.
Hi,
I’m currently building a character based around magical melee. She is a char in the blood legion who mainly uses fire and earth magic with dual daggers.
I’m wondering – Is a build like this viable at all in the PVE department when it comes to damage output and survivability? I wish to stick with the fire and earth for RP reasons.
Also, I’m aware that the elementalist is a squishy class. Should I invest in defensive gear (such as toughness on all my armor) or should I lean more towards increasing my damage output so I can kill enemies fast before they kill me? Remember, I will be in close range most of the time.
Great class. I tried most and settled with my ranger a year ago, and I now even have a ranger alt. May not have the best damage or survivability, but it’s definitely one of the most fun classes to play, on par with elementalist.
I believe the guardian has the highest survivability so that’d be your best bet. You could pull a lot of enemie attention towards you while your sister picks them off from a distance.
Uvisea… – Didn’t give her a last name on creation unfortunately. Regretting that now as I’m going to have to get a name changer for 800 Gems :P
Anyway, Uvisea is a female Charr elementalist. Since she was a cub she had a natural ability to flame & earth magics, which was likely passed down from her father who ended up deserting his warband for the flame legion. She’s spent most of her life proving herself against hey fathers reputation.
Any idea’s for a surname? I was thinking flamepaw, fireblood, firestone, something like that..
I just noticed this happening again after it was fixed in an earlier update (I think..) Basically your pet is out fighting mobs at long distance and the mobs randomly turn their attention to you and ignore the pet. Really frustrating when you’re using the ranger’s strength. i.e having your pet pull all the aggro while you do damage safe from a distance.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem after update?
Do you have any screenshots?
I can’t help but notice most Sylvari players I run across are wearing all kind of man made armors. Such as leather, scale, iron, etc. What ever happened to Sylvari growing their own armor from their bodies?
I’ve recently made the effort to transmute some of the Sylvari cultural armor with my exotic gear. I’ve also tried matching up the dye colors with the skin color of my Sylvari.
Also, Sylvari are supposed to be about a head shorter than a human & have a slim build.

I have to say though, I see nothing wrong with the third image. Looks amazing to me, and kinda honestly makes me wish I’d made my elementalist Charr.
I agree, the effects and animations do look amazing. But it looks like they made the animations and effects first before taking the scepters and staffs into consideration.
I took another screenshot. This time it’s the main electric attack of the scepter. Not only is the attacking coming from her hand instead of the scepter, she also isn’t even grasping the scepter. She is just casting magic from her hand and the scepter is just pointing to the sky and looks like she just duct taped it on.

I just think it looks silly when my character is attacking foe directly in front of her but her magic tool is pointing in the completely wrong place and seem to just be a cosmetic item.
Engineers get to shoot flames or bullets out of their guns. Warrior players are able to watch their characters cut up an enemy with a sword. Why can’t my elementalist destroy her enemies with the staff I created at the Artificer?

Hi.
So I’ve recently got into my first elementalist character after playing a ranger to 80, guardian to 30, and a few other classes to around 20. At level 8 I’m already starting to notice some aesthetic issues regarding the animation set.
First I want to say that I love the art style in GW2 and so far I’m overly impressed with the game world and the small details the dev team has put into the game. You may think my complaints are rather trivial, but being the aesthetic kitten that I am I couldn’t help but feel really let down by the display of the elementalist. Let me explain..
Here is my Charr elementalist. I am holding a scepter in my right hand and a focus in my left. Abilities 1, 2, and 3 are talents that come from using the scepter. In the picture I am using ability 3, yet my charr is casting from her focus.

Here is another example. This time I am casting ability 1 from the earth pool of talents. This time she does use the hand that is holding the scepter, except this time the scepter simply vanishes into thin air and the attack forms out of my hand. Shouldn’t I be shooting magic from the end of my scepter like a wizard would?

Now here is me using the staff, the typical weapon of a wizard. Again, my elementalist isn’t even using the staff, just holding it in one hand while casting spells from her other. This the case with almost all of the abilities with only a few exceptions. Remember Gandolf in LOTR using his hands to put down his enemies? Yeah, me neither.

I could post more screenshots but I think I have shown enough to explain what my issue is. To me it just feels out of place, and goes against the aesthetic of being a mage/wizard/elementalist. A staff or scepter is a tool used by the magic user, not simply a cosmetic I get to hold to symbolize my magic ability.

Norn, being the mountain giants that they are and having the essence of either of the 4 beasts, should have been given a companion pet by default I think.
I’ve played the Norn as a Ranger and it felt right exploring the icy mountains with a snow wolf by my side. Choosing another profession other than Ranger just doesn’t feel right. Don’t you think a warrior should have a warrior hound by his side, or an armored bear?
I realize this could be a problem with WvW balance where Norn would be at an advantage always by having a pet. But for PVE, and when exploring the world, I think we should have got a pet regardless of our profession!
Hey guys.
So I haven’t played Guild Wars 2 in a while. Is it just me or is the signet of the hunt a lot better than I remember? If so I really like the 25% boost! Far more worth it than it was before. 10% was it? Yep

A video made by a friend
But shooting 2 arrows at a time is cooler
Not sure if this is related to the patch as I only just noticed this, but the F2 ability on the Hyena which spawns a second Hyena is more hassle than it’s worth. At the end of combat the 2nd Hyena attacks a random mob in the area and pulls agro. Doesn’t matter if the enemy is 50 meters away, it will run over and attack. It would be nice if it only attacked the enemies me or my pet was fighting.
This has come up so many times in the suggestion forum that ANet must at least be aware that players want this. I’m sure they are planning on adding this in the future.
Get rid of the constant diminishing returns throughout the game!

During the headstart it was fun roleplaying a ranger, going out hunting in my favorite areas for bloods and leathers. Now it’s become just a waste of time. I see no point playing a ranger now if hunting isn’t a worthwhile activity.
It can be helpful in many DE/PvE occasions. Suppose you are trying to challenge a Skill Challenge or a Veteran or a Boss that you find it impossible to solo. Now there is a player near you with a down arrow. If you are level 14 and it is a level 14 challenge, you don’t know you can do it with two or not. If he is down from level 15, it does not make any difference, but if he is something like 60->14, sure you know it is likely you can make it. Some challenges are still hard with two unless you assume everyone is well geared and skillful.
Exactly this, I couldn’t put it better myself. The only reason levels exist is to measure someones combat ability. So whats the point of them if people can’t see it?
Well, I still see no reason for it. It does not add much to the game, it just adds another number to the player display. It can even confuse newbies a bit (“Drakortha 4 66, what does it mean?”). I think it’s fine as it is, and adding that extra number does not add much.
Maybe have 66 (downarrow) 4? If people can figure out bleed damage and criticals I’m pretty sure they can figure out what that means.
It matters for look for dungeons parties, it’s like without need to they enter party to see level, sometimes we need to kick because people who join are not the dungeon level. ~~
Good point, this would solve that issue as well.
Hum… Ok… I just don’t see the reason for this. Does it matter if you are higher level than other people in an area? Since we are all scaled down, it really makes no difference.
Well firstly it would make me feel more progressed and experienced, and other players could see that. As it is now high level players are hard to notice unless they are wearing eye catching armor or if you are in one of the home cities.
So you think it would impress people if you go into a newbie area and they can see you are level 66? lol.
As for nice armor, just ask nicely. IF they want to tell you they will. Some people spend a lot of time finding a cool outfit and they don’t want it cloned.
You are missing the point. I am only asking that we have more ways of getting info about other players. Using the HUD we can see their health, profession, guild, and buffs. So why not their combat level? It makes more sense than many of the options we already have.

It’s also nice to know what players actual levels are out of curiosity instead of having to whisper them for it.
Hi.
I was hoping when exploring lower tier areas as a level 66 players could see what level I am. Instead they only see the level I am nerfed down to with a down arrow. I think it would be better to show the players actually level beside the nerfed level so players can recognize the higher level players, see what kind of gear they are wearing, or ask for help with a difficult event.
I have played 236 hours over the past 22 days. Is that too much? :P
For players who don’t like competitive play (like myself) this is dreadful. In most games I dislike competitive play and my experience with GW2 pvp is no exception.
Please ANet, can we have monthly achievements without this? Maybe replace it with “kill 30 champion creatures” or something. Just anything so I don’t have to subject myself to the WvW playerbase.
