Shout out to the Borlis Brawlers for the good fights tonight. Look forward to our fights to come, for sure. Spent more time roaming and doing small man this week than we did in our 20 man raids, but saw some good play out there by a few groups so kudos to you guys that do that week in, week out. I definitely wish we could have had Monday night every night, [Os]. Shame we couldn’t have met up on the same BL more especially since its doubtful our servers will be paired up again.

HOPE is 8-2 on the GvG scene doing mostly 20v20 with two 15v15 matches. We run 20-25 every night as a guild only with 0-3 total non guildies around is at any given time. We’re still looking for members who want to be challenged in WvW and want to work towards being the best.

Our caster positions are mostly filled and are looking to strengthen our melee corps. Recruiting for both Guardians and Warriors currently, though we will consider other class applications. Whisper me in game or reply here if you have any questions.

Great fights with HOPE tonight. Tonight was the first time I felt challenged in open field combat since this match up began. Too bad neither of us could control the pugs that would eventually join in on the fights. Much respect noticed you back off when your pug + you guys greatly outnumbered us. Not many guilds would do that. ^5

Was definitely a welcome change, tonight! It’s tough for all three servers in this matchup finding competitive fights. I realized when FA fought EB a few months ago, that FA really did just zerg down their guild groups because we’d all be looking for fights, and when one showed up, all the guilds would just converge to get a piece. It sucks and I don’t envy being in that position, so we try to back off when we can in those situations. I’m glad we got to fight the Os Guild I’ve heard about. Kudos to you guys and thank you for the competitive night. We were definitely focused up for that series of fights on the switchback at NW Tower, had to be very careful there. Got us with our pants down while we were waiting in Garrison though haha

Grats. You just named guilds that decided to stick it out on FA and continue to struggle to stay afloat in enemy blobs by trying to blob up with other larger guilds like APS. The fact remains that fighting larger population servers means everyone has to blob up or move. That’s why RAM merged into HOPE, was it not? Hard for small RAM to fight T1 blobs. Dropping to silver league certainly helped them yet don’t expect that to last when FA makes it back into gold and fights the zerg tier servers again.

The point is that in this match-up it isn’t necessary to run with the larger guilds. Take the tags down, run with your own guild only, tell the pugs to kitten off, go find the good fights and you might even stop being bored.

In fairness, that’s not why RAM members moved over to HOPE. It was an attempt to keep the RAM community together when its leadership needed to step down and take some time. We didn’t really increase the number we ran nightly after it happened, we went from RAM running 20ish nightly, and HOPE running 20-25 nightly, to just HOPE running 25 nightly. The first couple days we were 30ish but it definitely felt like more than we wanted to run with and we trimmed it back down after quite a few roster changes. Doesn’t matter really, but on the typical night we didn’t particularly have to join up to fight the other server’s group. Anyhow, that chapter’s closed, and hope to see RAM back out there the way they use to be, for sure.

Drop the commander tag, lose the pugs, and fight us as a guild. You zerg down groups of 15, but i’m glad it has made your day. For a guild that won’t GvG HOPE because you “have to play ppt” you guys are extremely good at wasting manpower. FABL yesterday? Owned what? 2 towers at your climax? YBBL today? Only held on to 1/3 of the map?

I’d personally say it was moreso one specific guild that got some of our attention. I can guarantee HOPE wouldn’t have been motivated to turn YB BL blue and do what we could to keep it blue for the 10 hours had it not been for a specific guild talking kitten about us. It sucks the other people on YB have to deal with it.

Kudos to [GLOB], you guys are a bit tankier than most guilds for sure and you fought well. Much respect, you guys were relentless. Pix, Yum’s not active in WvW anymore. We took Despicable [Me] + WvW’ers of [Yum] + a small group called [AoE] and made [One] a few mts ago.

And stop with this “blob” thing, we are pretty much 1 guild. quite larger in size. Tonight on FA BL it was just our guild with the exception of 1/4 non guildies.

We had between 12-18 people tonight that made it into the BL, and you guys had however many you were blobbing around with. We’ll love to have some fights with you this week, as reset night hasn’t really been HOPE’s thing. This goes out to any YB guild that wants to, but particularly One who must have the skills we can learn from. If you want fights, than try tagging down and running with one third of the numbers you guys had collectively. Then we’ll be able to field as many. It’s awesome you had fun but everything you do now are things you could’ve been doing for the past few months. How can you double your kill count in one night? It kept us on our toes and made for interesting nights. I don’t think you guys would have queues most of the time we’re on maps though. I did hear you guys have had some rough luck with some guilds and guild leaders, which explains why I haven’t seen them. It’s been hard to even distinguish the one guild that’s leading the map though. Just try to remember, later at night you guys can break down the group on the map in half. There’s no way we would have been able to defend both FABL and SBI Bay Tuesday night if you guys had a two forces on map, instead of just the one large one. I get it if that wasn’t possible though. Anyhow, I don’t envy the position SBI is in. You’re getting a small feel for what things on FA were like when we faced you last.

Maintaining enough Glicko for the tier your server wants to be in has always been one of the few reasons I could understand why people ppt. I don’t understand your comment though. The reward of WvW has always been WvW itself and the competition of fighting other guilds or organized and talented groups. The reward shouldn’t be some stupid arbitrary token from winning a league with some bs certification of participation. WvW has always been imbalanced and the score boards will only ever reflect on the coverage population between the servers. Anet didn’t just magically poop balance into WvW. I don’t get why people think for some reason that score matters because we’ve been moved from a tier to a League. It’s not balanced, and I’m sad that so few seem to play WvW for what it is rather than what it is they’ll get.

HOPE will be out there as always, hoping to find a guild that plays for competition. Abys or TE, you’re our last hope for a GvG tomorrow. It seems everyone has fallen into the can’t win won’t try philosophy. I’m hoping you prove us wrong.

What happened to all of SBI’s guilds that use to run as guild groups only? I know you guys might not be facing many guilds from FA that run tagless now, but I miss seeing the 3-4 different guild groups on the same map. We figured at least this week out of all 7 weeks, we’d at least have a variety of guilds to fight that run decent sized groups (20-35) but its been really disappointing. While we had fun tonight hopping map to map, there is no competitive satisfaction from beating up on groups that have 30 or more non guildies.

And for the record, HOPE and so many of us on FA wanted nothing more than to be in gold. You guys faced a server that was really licking its wounds last time we fought, in the two months prior, every match we had was decided by almost 100k points or more. It’s not ideal at all, but silver lets FA get back up to where we use to be.

I hope to see actual guild groups out and about at some point this matchup. I think i saw ING from DB that was running some good numbers, so hopefully we can get some good fights.

Ahhh it was nice to be back on the scene tonight. Haven’t been out in force much except for Saturday. I’m disappointed we haven’t run into any actual guild groups yet though, just those fun loving blobs. Even with the skill lag in SMC we still had a lot of fun a few hours ago.

HOPE is looking for guilds to GvG before this matchup ends like last time. Thursday is probably the best night for us. Hope to hear from TE, DDLG, BAEST, Abyss, DR. Shoot me a message in game.

The 3 guilds I am in (bout 1k-ish ppl total) in FA have been avoiding wvw in hopes to get into silver league. As far as we have been concerned there is nothing to benefit from being in one of the last spots in gold.

Then the 3 guilds you are in are probably not WvW guilds and don’t WvW to begin with anyways.

HOPE wants nothing more than to go to Gold League, but we know it will hang out the smaller guilds, militia commanders, and non-NA guilds out to dry if we push hard, cause they probably won’t make it through 7 weeks. Catch 22.

FA’s been in a hard spot between the T1 Servers and the Silver servers. Its not an ideal position for us or anyone at all and we don’t envy the servers that we know aren’t going to do well against us. Many of us wanted desperately to stay in Gold, but the past matchups have drained our smaller guilds, militia commanders, and our off hour guilds who constantly fought while it wasn’t fun.

None of us want to see FA do that to you guys in silver, and while we are going to silver, our intention is absolutely to build back up and return to gold and our solid ranking as a “T2” server. I don’t envy the position the silver servers are in, cause its probably going to be similar to the one we’ve been in the better part of the RNG matches the past few months.

We DO hope for as many competitive fights as possible, and you members of competitive guilds should be ready to set up GvGs with our guilds whenever we get matched up.

HOPE will be looking for 20v20 matches throughout the league.

As a server that will be working hard to get back to gold (assuming at this point we’re destined for silver), have you considered suspending Glicko ratings throughout the League?

Our goal has only ever been to maintain enough rating to stay in “T2” in order to get the consistent fights. If we face one of the lower servers in Silver we’d have to completely destroy them to avoid losing rating which would put us farther from Gold. It would help the fun for these servers if glicko was suspended so that larger servers don’t have to go all out and gun to maintain 600+ ppt.

Fun night tonight on SBI BL. First time in a while we committed to a BL for as long as we did and the Garrison flip was a fantastic cap for the night. Kudos to you guys for putting up the fight for as long as you did. Lots and lots and lots of fights out there tonight, almost as many as last night! Haven’t seen much Abys or DR though since reset, hope to see you out there tomorrow.

Ahh Pyro I’m glad we finally fought. We haven’t fought a guild group of you as a guild group of us in months, almost back in old T3. Somehow we never end up on the same map, or maybe its cause you’re usually in EB?

Overall very very fun night against a lot of different guild groups.

I wanted to comment about the incident that happened recently in-game, surrounding some negative community interaction from a member of the ArenaNet staff.

Simply put a big mistake was made by one of our employees, for which he is both very upset and sorry. He allowed his personal feelings to affect his interactions in-game whilst representing ArenaNet, and this is absolutely unacceptable.

Like all players, we are human, and all have our opinions on the game. However these opinions should never disrupt other player’s enjoyment of the things they love. On top of this we have worked very hard to create a community that is respectful to one another, and for this behavior to have occurred while a developer is representing ArenaNet is doubly saddening.

We all cherish the opportunity to play with the community, and we absolutely rely on you all for in game feedback, and personally I hope that this incident does not hamper what has so far been an amazing relationship and opportunity for us all.

I would therefore like to sincerely apologize for this behavior on behalf of our staff member. We are taking steps to address the incident and for his part, he is very sorry for behaving in the manner in which he did.

Regarding Guild game play, please understand it is extremely important to us, and an area we are paying a great deal of attention to, so please do be patient with the developers who work tirelessly on making WvW the very best it can be, they have a great deal of respect for you all, and value your collaboration in pushing this pioneering mode forward. Also please note this member of staff is not on the WvW team.

Finally, World vs. World is a free-for-all battle. Our expectation of staff is that they should be playing, and enjoying the game like everyone else, and not being disruptive or disrespectful to others.

And in this spirit I hope we can move forward, and continue, what has up to this point, been a great community/developer relationship. One that I know our team massively values and loves.

Admired how ballsy Choo was tonight on FABL. NW Bay was a pretty decent fight, though would’ve been nice without AC’s to have a little more room to play with for the fights. We went to EB to see if TW was still there, but it was a ghost town and we were wrapping up after SMC. Looking forward to the fights tomorrow.

Ehhh we still had fun tonight. There definitely weren’t as many fights as the night before, had a couple good fights with FEAR and friends in EB. DiE having the other group (TW/TW lead militia) made things a lot more interesting on SoR than they probably would have been otherwise. Loved your aggression last night, but can’t blame to you for not being as aggressive tonight. Good fights.

Almost had the cap when we swapped from Bay to Garri and back to Bay though Same time tomorrow?

Wow those fights in EB tonight were incredible. That Bravost fight has got to be the most fun fight I’ve ever been in. Had some awesome ones in QL and Langor just about all night, very glad my guild convinced me to go there.

FABL wasn’t a bad time either earlier with Choo, TW, FEAR, and the Aco/WARD crew, but highlights of the night definitely come from EB. Looking forward to the fights tomorrow, SoR.

Sovereign, I don’t mean this as a personal attack because I believe you generally mean well, but I guess you just can’t comprehend why this buff is so bad for us competitive guilds. I don’t even understand what you’re trying to show from your video in your signature. If you stop it at 1:16 it shows you have the orb buff equal to the guy you killed, and regardless, one 1v1 does not have much of anything to do with why people don’t like it. You’re last video with the GvG alternative also shows that you don’t really understand the problem here, as well. (None of that is meant personal)

Many of us bought this game because we were attracted to the large scale combat and variety and competition that WvW brought to GW2. There is no pride in winning a fight when you have the orb buff, and it makes things much harder to take on larger numbers when you don’t. It’s not so much that though even, as someone else said, this buff is the straw that broke the camel’s back. By stopping playing (if that’s what it takes), it’d be in the hopes that Anet realizes they are taking WvW down a completely wrong path and start it back down the right one.
