FA blobs just as hard, e.g., earlier today when HOPE and CL had to blob together to beat our < 25-man group on FABL while we were outmanned.

I’d also wager a guess that FA has (slightly) more coverage than TC now. It’s not our fault that you guys have morale problems and your numbers disappear after getting stomped into the ground over and over. You can blame it on beating up T3 servers for 7 weeks, but that’s also your fault.

Side note: Is 20k wvw kills supposed to be something to be proud of ???

That’s reading between the lines. We start later than most NA guilds, and when we finally get our group in, other guilds are ending. All I was saying is that you guys fought a small guild group of us. Almost all of your guild groups start dwindling in numbers once we get in because of the time itself.

lol RoT and BEAST think they farmed us? Since you seem to think you beat us when you have less people why not fight us in a 15v15 or 20v20? We had 14 people when we fought BEAST and after we got our last five, you guys suddenly log off. In DBBL we had 17 against RoT and you gave some good fights but don’t kid yourself that anyone got farmed. I respect RoT and Obby but you guys have dodged our GvG requests all week. I’ve mailed Obby, pm’ed him, sent the challenges, but no reply about them, so I gave up.

We’ll be around tonight, so if BEAST and RoT would like to back up what they’ve said, we’ll look forward to it.

Yeah, use it. I think it’d make things more publicly competitive again if more guilds use it. I think there’s some bugs with it, but the suggested challenges list all the guilds that are registered in your matchup, and it doesn’t like it when you try to challenge a guild outside of the servers you’re fighting.

No. Nobody gives a flying kitten about the achievements. We play WvW the way we play WvW. Red is dead. The last thing we’re going to do is try to fix it so that a bunch of carebears get some pointless reward. Pretty much every sentence you quoted was followed up with something to put it in context. Are you saying any of those reasons are untrue? It wasn’t meant to be insulting…it takes a bit different and extra theory crafting for GvGs and there is a definite learning curve that you’d have to expose your guild to. That exposure points out weaknesses that guilds won’t see in WvW and helps guilds become better. It’s a good tool a lot of guilds use to improve and gage progress.

Enjoy it while it lasts I suppose, eventually all of CORE will be blocked, and you will have nobody to talk to but the next guy in the jerking circle.

And I will say it again. We do not gvg, we think it is a perversion of the game mode, you can find us every night after 8:30 pm, no exceptions. I can guarantee you that we are not hiding behind walls and gates, we are capping back everything that should be ours in our BL or in EB every single night.

I will say though, I’d ask your guild members again if they all really think its a “perversion of the game mode” or if its really just you and a select few being overly zealous about it and discouraging it in your guild. There isn’t much of a rational argument you can make that has even numbered open field fights a “perverted” version of gameplay lol.

I’ve seen the guild environments where few individuals use their personal opinion as the entire guild though and a lot of members didn’t talk about their interest in GvG. The OP is clearly not someone who has been around WvW or involved in the FA Community to even know whats going on.

Please don’t judge FA based on the new people that come posting from FA. Like every server, we had a bunch of reward hunting pvers come into WvW and claim they love it and start boasting about WvW. We aren’t delusional enough to think we have T1 coverage, aside from a few individuals. That said, it will be nice to get blown out again so that these boasters can go back to PvE.

FA being in silver is a combination effect. A few weeks right before seasons started when FA were playing JQ it seemed everything went wrong for them. They got ripped apart by JQ and lost 2-3 key guilds in the process (one of them was RISE I believe). There was a server wide decision from the guilds remaining (on their TS) that due to the losses and how badly things were going vs JQ they would tank ranks to be in silver this season. Any of them who say this “server wide decision” didn’t happen is fooling yourselves because one of the main commanders was streaming it after they just did a GvG at the time, and forgot to mute sound on the stream till about half way through so a few people heard it (me included). That being said I don’t really look negatively on them as it was just a bad run of luck that pushed them to making the decision.

There is some truth to what you’ve said, but you have a lot wrong. There was no “server wide decision” for FA to tank. The “meeting” did take place, yes. There were a couple individuals that called people into the teamspeak and wanted to talk about things. FA had just lost RQ, RISE, DPS, and SIC announced they weren’t coming back to FA. We had pretty much no militia and no pugmanders left on the server. We only had a few major guilds left on FA, and aside from those few guilds, almost every other smaller guild was bleeding out members. If you listened to that stream than you would have heard me, too. The individuals that called it, brought it up that it was possible for FA to not make it into Gold League and that Silver League would give us a chance to stop the bleeding on some of the guilds and rebuild what we could to get back to our solid spot in “T2”.

I said kitten that. If FA tanked, HOPE would transfer. While a lot of people considered the idea of trying to go to silver, there was a definitive “server wide decision” that we would NOT do that, because that goes against everything we are as a server. The large majority of us wanted absolutely no part in an FA that would tank. The FA at that time was like a skeleton of what we had been, and for the people that suggested Silver might be better, FA in that current state really wouldn’t have blown out the servers in silver league. There were literally no queues on any map, almost ever, including EB. For my guild, we loved it cause we could go to whatever map we wanted, whenever, and were guaranteed fights. Right before the leagues started, FTF, CORE, and PVP transferred to FA, and all of a sudden because of the leagues there were pvers and pugmanders everywhere.

If FA had purposely tanked, HOPE would have moved because we absolutely did not want to be in Silver. A few weeks ago we even voted to transfer but changed our minds because whichever server we’d go to without queues, we’d lose out on fighting the guilds there. Silver league has sucked, but if FA tanked, we would have moved that first week., so no…we did not tank. Thanks for reading, chapter 2 come out next week.

Yeahh, I’m not completely convinced people should switch from the South Camp spot to the Arena. We fought [TB] 15v15 in the arena tonight and the fights just dont have the same variety that the South Camp spot has.

Thank you to DIE for the fights tonight. DIE did not have their main GvG driver and most guilds would cancel, but they still showed up and gave us a few rounds of fights. So thank you for the fights, and best of luck to you guys, I don’t think we’ll meet again for a long time.

Anyone else wondering how the griefing is going to be though? The EB JP has always been haven for griefers so I’m anxious to see how that plays out. The south camp gvg spot avoids griefers to some extent cause its a more remote. Is the Arena going to be in kinda a back alley place and secluded? Absolutely looking forward to seeing it though, very glad to have it.

And he’s still right. Blowouts are from fairweathers not showing up on one side, and showing up on the other. WvW is a numbers game and I will forever disagree with anyone that argues otherwise. Does skill play a factor? In fights absolutely, but when you are outnumbered on maps and the enemy doesn’t have any distraction but to push on you, you’re not going to win the ppt game with significantly less people. Especially when the enemy has been able to upgrade and you haven’t.

HOPE is now 11-2 in GvGs and we’ve worked very hard to master our style. Our last 5 GvGs include:

[krew] doesn’t GvG, and they’ve already referred us to a BP guild that does. It’s scheduled for Wednesday.

Thanks to Void for the GvG, tonight. You guys have a lot of good things going for you, and its always fun seeing you guys in the open field. Much respect to you guys.

All is right in GW2 again. GvG Showdown is back and suddenly there’s 5+ Upcoming matches on gw2gvg.com compared to the 1 or 2 that’s typically been there since Orbageddon. Now we just have to get NA to start using it again cause it really was extremely helpful in setting up matches before.

I definitely want to encourage both EU and NA guilds to make threads about their matchups here in this forums, especially if you plan on live streaming.

It would be awesome to see another episode and continue the revitalization of the GvG scene. Your episodes are a huge part of why the GvG expanded since it brought so much more attention to things. Not as many people check this forum section anymore, but I’m sure as more people hear you’re considering another episode, you’ll get a ton of support. Let us know if you need anything from recent matchups to scores to videos or anything, people would definitely support it if you chose to make another one.
