You totally wrong. There is hot join for solo random q.
How could be a tournament competitive with random solo q?
The only solo q in gw1 was Random arena, this cotain the word “random” wich is also synonimous of hot join.
Play soccer with 11 random people, yea yours idea is pretty fun guys.

Wait them implement a decent rating system, maybe later they can focused more on guilds ranking? Step by step guys.. i know 6 months are gone, but what else could we do? nothing

You think the 1 team vs 1 team will be support by a ladder so we can get funny as a competitive mode? Maybe the tourny MM could be followed by more rating points than single 1 team vs 1 team (as it is just one match ).

In addition, i would like to say that if paid tourny in europe pop at 8pm til 23/24 pm, people who play during the day are disadvantaged. Is a bad thing that you can play competitive only for 4 hours during the evening only..
One more addition, i can play 2 hours in the evening, but my queue is very long and in the end i could play only 2 paid instead of 3 ( 1 tourn=40 mins, 40×3=120mins= 2 hours) that’s something deeply wrong!!!!!

this thread is just a giant whine, bordering on insulting now. youre not saying anything new or constructive. obviously, we will shift away from tournaments. custom arenas will allow for custom matchups, and that in itself will bring a lot of people back. rankings, even more.

and spvp isnt really any worse off than a few months ago. tpvp is, likely due to a crappy meta, but there are still two dozen spvp games at any given time. there isnt really a deadline till doom, as many of you are suggesting. you may want to leave personally, but you’ll be back for sure.

Redscope, i think you are going off topic.. I understand ur point of view, but u seems not to be a old gw1 player..
Gw1 players are the most experienced pvp people of the world ( iam talking about spvp right now), and i understand ur point of view but, please let ex gw1 players saying what this game needs essentially. For example, is fundamental have a ladder, and the best way to use it is a single 5v5 matchmaking match.
So let’s wait Jonathan Sharp reply, that’s what i asked for by doing this topic.

For latency. EU servers are hosted in Germany and you get a lower ping to them that way.

In gw1 Heroes ascent+gvg were fine for eu/americans/asians players togheters..so i don’t think it could be server problem..

I think the better question would be. Why have regions at all for PvP? WvW would be a lot less unbalanced population wise and actual 24/7 match ups would occur. It would fix a lot of complaints about nightcapping.

This is not world of warcraft to play 2v2 3v3, there is no team play with this mode.

The game is born for team play game ( at the moment with conquest mode ) where a mix of classes and build complete the meaning of the match.

I hope " if " matchmaking would be added, it would not be used with filters to split new people and experienced people.
There is a hot join mode that allows people getting experience, also custom arenas would help. It is supposed to have a matchmaking with an elorating ladder system, so when a premade group wants to play rated game, they should be aware of the possibility to get a match against everyone who also want to play a rated game.

We want news about matchmaking+ladder.

40 mins for a tournament (paid or free) its too much this is killing gw2 pvp.
We love this pvp but we need this feature.

We really want to know some news from you to the near spvp future features.

We really want to stop play paid tournaments where only 100 players ( eu ) play it every evening ( thats embarassing for a new game, paid tournm should be played by thousands of thousands people ), starting a paid means 5people x 8 teams= 40 people so you can start 1 tourny or max 2 per time ( every time against same people )

We really want to play a single 5v5 premade matchmaking game with an elorating ladder (cmon, 40 mins for a tournament is too much time )

I dont know if you’ve thought yet about it, i dont care.

Tell us why u won’t do this or yes do it! Cmon!
