Score update for those of us stuck at work?

It is funny, you would think it would be ALL new mails would bump old mails off anyway. Then when you delete some, they pop back in. I get server limits etc. but it really could work like regular e-mail that puts new mails at the top pushing the rest down.

As I said, not an issue for me, but I WAS surprised it didn’t work like this anyway.

I am surprised that no Dev has posted on this. The moderators are locking threads and pointing here for answers.

I never had a problem with this. I just delete old messages. :/

I don’t disagree with your statement, but I would also point out that you also don’t “need” anything that is sold in the gem store, yet they still sell it. Using your argument, one could argue that nothing should be sold in the gem store at all, since it is all unneeded.

Not really. Gem store items are aesthetic only (and of course some utilitarian like bank slots, bag slots, character slots etc.). Laurels are for ascended gear, which is a boost over Exotic (therefore not aesthetic) but really only needed for higher level fractals. If you are not logging in and playing a lot, you are probably not doing higher end fractals, thus you do not need that gear.

The argument as stated is that the game was forcing people to log in to get laurels. Well, that is just not true. Also, the game does not force you to buy things from the gem store either. If you want them, do the work (for laurels…really it takes what? 1/2 hour to complete the daily) or spend the money (if you want something in the gem store). Neither is forced.

However, I also do the dailies for the jugs of Karma. They give a NICE boost when buying that exotic karma gear. Coupled with the Karma you can make in WvW, you can get Exotics pretty quickly even as a casual player.

Human Ele was my first post beta. I stopped playing that character to level my Norn Guardian because my guild needed that more than my Ele at the time.

My Guardian was the first to 80 and my Ele was my 2nd.

I am not leveling a Ranger (currently 63) and have a Necro at 46, Warrior at 40, Mesmer at 17, and Thief at 4.

I tried Engineer, and when I buy an 8th slot, I will make one, but they were my least favorite to play.

In my small Friends and Family guild of 16, 4 are Female. In my larger WvW guild, we have a large number of females (though I don’t know the count offhand). As far as character gender goes, I have 4 male and 3 female toons.

Nice job last night GoM! I logged in preparing to head to our BL to flip and we looked good in there. Instead I headed on over to ET BL as it looked “busy” and it was AWESOME! Lots of fun in there and even had a few great small skirmishes. ;-)

Thank you ET for the awesome time in GoM BL last night!!! That was some of the most fun I have had in WvW and it seriously took the sting of the whole ‘Tier 8’ debacle away. It was very competitive and was an adrenaline rush almost the entire time. The way people make it sound, Tier 8 wasn’t going to be much fun (but it was!). ;-)

I switched from my Ele to my Guard last night for the first time in WvW and was not sure I would be as much help, but I found it was just as fun and I felt as useful as I usually do. Special thanks to [ASH] Commanders for leading the charge and to the rest of GoM for being awesome.

Looking forward to next week. Good luck to ET but I kind of hope you don’t make it out of T8 just yet. ;-)

Are any of the (larger or more structured) WvW guilds recruiting on GoM? It sucks being the only one in our small friends and family guild that likes to WvW.

I usually play after work for a couple hours M-F around 7:00 PM Pacific and every weekend morning for a few hours and various times during the weekend days and evenings.

(I did post in the ‘Guild’ forum, but there isn’t much from GoM on there.)

I would rather not transfer off GoM as it has been my home since headstart.

In any case, I will see you all on the battlefield tonight after work.

My suggestion for you (or for anyone in your boat), is to join us on the GoM Alliance Teamspeak3 server. There are a lot of guilds represented there, and we all work together. You wouldn’t even need to change guilds, you can just pitch in, like a great many other little guilds do. However, if you are interested in joining a guild, you could run with the other guilds and try it out.

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a guild I can run with that focuses on (or has a good showing in) WvW. I am in a small friends and family guild that is just for fun at the moment but am looking to join a more structured and larger guild for an enhanced WvW experience.

I prefer WvW on my Ele but have an 80 Guardian I can play if needed and am leveling a Ranger. We slipped into Tier 8 this week and I am looking forward to helping get us back into Tier 7.

I only play a couple hours a night and usually log in sometime around 7:00 PM Pacific time. Weekends I tend to play more in the mornings between 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM/Noon. If this is acceptable and you have a guild similar to what I am looking for, please hit me up!

I would love to see an armory type page for GW2. I would also love to see a WvW page that would show an up to date snapshot of a each Tier. Warhammer had a page like that and I would track progress at work. Kept me interested during the day and looking even more forward to jumping in and helping out when I got home.

Why can’t people enjoy both? if you don’t, then stick to what you DO like.

I like both WvW and sPvP. I like to get better gear and level up and have that make it a little easier in WvW. I also like playing for my ‘World’ and trying to ‘win’ as a world rather than a small team in sPvP sometimes. I also like the even playing field of sPvP and letting skill have a bigger part of the game.

Play the parts you like. You don’t have to like every aspect of the game.

This MMO is different than many before it. I have played a TON of MMOs over time; they are my favorite genre. I have leveled 2 characters to 80 so far in GW2 and have a few more well on their way. I have made purchases in the gem store for more bank and character slots and will probably continue to do so. I love the story every time I play it through as I make different choices and use different professions each time. I also have 2 characters I love to WvW with, a different one I like to sPvP with, and a third I use mainly for PvE.

It is true, however, that the game won’t appeal to everyone. That would be a monumental task! ;-)

Because it if fun working for something [gear]. I like working toward gear even if it isn’t for the next big dungeon. I am gearing out my 2 80s now. I WvW with one and manly PvE with the other.

Ouch! Tonight hurt! I need to find a WvW guild that I can run with.
