Huh weird, I have never gotten zero loot unless I had already received the loot box for the day on that character. I even only tagged a champ with 3 shots and still got loot (and I was solo, I am almost always solo). I have yet to get a gold medal and not get the loot rewards (on champs that actually drop chests).

What you’re saying here is not necessarily true. Less players in specific zones doesn’t equal less players. Anet is simply directing traffic much better than they used to.

Even on the busiest server in the game, you can find places where there aren’t a lot of people in the open world. But then you go to where the action is. You have different types of players who play for different types of reasons.

Farmers will end up going to the hot farming spot, achievement point hounds (like me) will go to where they can get achievements (ie the living story), WvW will spend much of their time in WvW, dungeon runners will spend much of their time in dungeons (which were made more lucrative recently), and people who RP often spend their time in RP hotspots like DR.

That there are less people in points A, B and C doesn’t mean there aren’t more people in points D, E and F.

I get ya, but I am traveling all over the world. I am a port maniac. It is just way more dead than I was used to except maybe the ONE single area of the day(Living story area) (except Queensdale. That place is busier now than it was when I played through it at launch). I am not saying there are only 4 people on the server, don’t get me wrong, but I remember a lot more people closer to launch than now and I play in all levels of zones.

I pretty much just log in to do dailies. I don’t have a lot of time and I am not a big fan of temporary content. Once a week I do a run with the guildies, but other than that, just dailies.

Huh, I just read that they WOULD be refunding the Karma used. I wonder if they JUST released that part of the info.

I saw this happening when I heard that no class (or role) is “needed”. You don’t have a class that has a sole purpose and you fill that niche when you play.

shrug I like both styles of gaming. I love vertical progression and the holy trinity of raiding and I also love this game.

I have 3 mains; One for WvW, one for Dungeon runs, and one for PvE/open world. I have been playing since the betas also and knew then that I would not feel the draw to any one character as I did in other MMOs where I felt I was meeting a need and filling it with my character choice.

The end game is scattered throughout the levels. There is not much you NEED 80 to do so there is no real point in rushing there.

Are we talking about a two handed axe that likely evolved into the popular 15th c. poleaxe/halberd I mentioned? I Google “greataxe” and I keep getting images of these fantasy weapons where the blade is huge… <_>

I wouldn’t say something that big. More like the old AD&D Battle Axe. The handle would be less than 5 feet thus not making it a polearm. Something more along the lines of a 3 – 3.5 foot handle (when held by a human) and double edged (because I like that).

Greataxe is always my number one on these threads.

The personal story WAS an interest to me until 1) it became Trahearne’s and 2) I found that they were all the same toward the middle.

Players don’t want to farm… Players wants rewards and progress.

Since there are none, they invent one (like Legendaries as one example) and farm for it.

ANet is so deep into pulling us to the gem market (who can blame them, it’s their business) that everything new must be VERY expensive and on extreme random chances… basically they are pushing players to it.

So yeah, this game was actually made for grinding, and it subsists on more and more grinding. Don’t like grinding? pay money for “money”.

So far I find the Thief to be the most fun for me. I also like Mesmer for fun.

Warrior was by far the most boring so far.

Each chest in the line of succession is listed at the top of the achievement page. You can see what your next goal is to get to the next chest. You received on per day because you had already earned them and they decided to dole them out once per day you log in.

Yeah, I am with the OP on this one as well.

The best part about no monthly fee is that you can take a game break and come back when you want to and you have nothing lost. There is enough in game to keep me occupied for a while, but if there is not for you, and you need a new dragon to be happy, then you could always take a break and come back whenever they decide the right time is.

A better system would be to display the number of kicks initiated and confirmed within a period. That way, if you get with a group and it says that they kick 10 people a month, you know you shouldn’t even start.

Now that’s a good idea! A nice addition to stats visible to others, “number of players kicked from group”.

That would work in theory, however I often group with guildies that have a bad habit of logging out before leaving the group and then we have to kick them to make room for new members or reform the group.

Not hard at all, kicked while in a dungeon or in open area. If you have guildies who log out in the middle of a dungeon, then kick them from your guild by all means and don’t group up with them any more.

I don’t think that’s what they were saying, instead i got the impression that their guildies, after a run, log off before leaving the party which means they’re still in the party and if you’re going for a second run you need to kick them and invite someone else. Loads of people do this and it’s not a problem as they’re not leaving half way through an encounter

If that is what they meant, then it was a pretty meaningless comment. Removing someone from a group in the open world is hardly the same as kicking someone during a FoTM run or a dungeon.

I originally thought the OP was kicked in open world…by third fractal I thought he meant 3rd run. I was going to comment that we have asked a Pick Up to leave to make room, but NEVER in the middle of a fractal or dungeon run. Always between runs. If it happened inside the fractal then that sucks!

I definitely agree. I went to Queensdale the other day and started an event, and it was a very small event, but I can’t remember which one. I had just finished the event when a SWARM of players come crawling over the edge of a hill and almost simultaneously, I got about 60 whispers insulting me for ruining their event circuit. I was so confused for a second until I realized that they were running the events one right after the other, and I had just interrupted their run of these events and now they’d have to move on to a different event. This is on Gate of Madness, by the way. This is not how I wanted Queensdale to turn out at all, especially when new players start there. What are new players going to think about GW2 when players shout at them for starting a simple event? You should be able to start an event alone if you want to, shouting that an event has started is just a courtesy given out okittendness. Now every time I go to Queensdale, I start every event on my own without giving that courtesy because these kittens decided it was okay to insult and belittle. Screw them, when they swarm over the hill again, I’ll be smiling standing over the body of the champion troll or the bodies of multiple bandits and my smile will grow when they fume and insult me. I know I’m just adding to the hurt they’re already inflicting on GW2, but I really can’t do anything to stop their zergs anyway.

Weird, I hang out in Queensdale in the evenings when I need a champ or vets or group events. I have never been sent a whisper and trigger my own events all the time. When someone pings a champ, I head over and usually make it in time. But I do my own events in the mean time.

This is a GREAT idea and I am surprised it took this long to get it in game. I just wish I could gift my friend a character slot. I hope they implement that at some point. I think the idea as a whole is AWESOME!

/agree It is a GREAT option to have and the added AOE makes it even better!

The part I am upset about is that I cannot gift a character slot to my friend. Just about everything save slots, inventory, and digital upgrade can be gifted.

Eh, I pretty much learned my lesson thanks to the free key offered for the black lion chests very early. With every free key unlocking a whole lot of nothing, it just reinforced my opinion that it really wasn’t worth spending any proper currency on.

You really think every dungon from AC to Arah is near impossible unless you are 80? Hmmm, not in my experience. We ran them with our guild with characters just of level and made it through. It was fun. It is more difficult, sure, but not near impossible.

I patronized them from the beginning and do not feel it is an insult. I would have patronized them anyway and I got a little something back. AWESOME. As a matter of fact, I continue to patronize them.

Yeah, I actually like playing the game in open world. Sometimes I go to new zones that I don’t frequent on my 80s, and other times I like to play the same zones. shrug The great thin about the game is that you can level however you wish! Just don’t tell me I am wrong for doing it the way I prefer.

I am all for transparency, however, I am not upset by a change this minor being left out of the list when it is obvious to me what they did and that it had absolutely no affect on the item or game-play.

Thief also. So far everything else has been pretty easy to level PvE. I am still working on Engi and Mesmer though.

I main a Guard for dungeons, Ele for open world, and Ranger for WvW.

Ele was easy for me (both staff and D/D). Mesmer is tough but I think Thief is the most difficult. Engineer was easy for me as well, but I got bored with it. I will try another once I get my 8th char slot.

The game have an UI. Use it or left IMO.
A modified UI can give some advantage… Skills positions, colours, Bars positions… A user with the default UI play the whole game and the user with the modified UI play the same game with ( maybe) some advantage ( More free space in the screen for example).
Its true that the default UI can be better but if you play pvp with a modified UI you maybe can have more free space in the screen and see the player that with the default UI you cant see it.

Please, The read the word MAYBE before flame me.

P.S: I play a lot other games where addons are “must be” and sincerely, they are a game killer. For example: You need X addon/mod for be better in PVP bcoz with the addon/mod you have more data about ( put here anything like agro, rage, HP, mana, etc, etc..)

Following this logic, everyone should also be using the same screen resolution and use the same keyboard and mouse. If I play in a high screen resolution on an HD screen I will have more free space showing than someone playing a 3:4 aspect ratio screen with lower resolution. If I have a gaming keyboard or mouse, then I can do some things others can’t. You can’t use the equality logic because it isn’t equal as it is now. Also, everyone should theoretically have access to the same mods and therefore be able to emulate a UI someone else is using (like one with a lot of space on their screen).

Now you fail at logic. I never said they were abusing it. The statement was ‘how it can be abuse if it is legal’, which don’t have anything to do with each other. Try quoting the guy who spoke about Zorin (who I chat with in game all the time) bragging about his drug abuse and not my explanation.

When I started, I just inched up until I saw the red “out of range” marker disappear. that is when I could geusstimate what each distance was. You get used to it.
