re: But let’s be real… it’s not a real “problem”. – Of course it isn’t, in the sense that nothing in a game could be considered a “real” problem. But it’s easily remedied by returning the vendor with proper notification for at least a short time.

re: A small percentage of the player base – I don’t know what percentage it is, and neither do you. (even if you’re actually an Anet employee, it would be almost impossible for you to know) The fact is, they’ve made a percentage of the player base unhappy, with no reason given. Why not just make some small effort to try and solve that? Or at least justify what they’ve done, so we at least know why?

It can’t be a tremendous effort to simply put the vendor back in. And give proper notice.

re: You’re practically yelling at the sky demanding to know why it’s blue. – No, I’m asking to know why a seemingly needless change was made. Without proper notification. And with no reason or justification given. Anet’s poor communication with players has been a problem (in the sense that anything concerning a game could be considered a problem) for quite some time now. Anet should be working to communicate more effectively with their players.

re: You’re looking at a relatively tiny time investment that you hadn’t counted on. – Not everyone has as much time to play as you do. My guild plays together once a week, for 4 to 5 hours. Some of us have no more time to play than that. And it wouldn’t be necessary if they’d just let us redeem the badges of honor we already have.

That’s not what this topic is about. – An issue with toxic players on your WvW server would be a WvW issue, wouldn’t _ it? And forcing a player to play WvW instead of using badges already earned would make that relevant to this thread.

re: Everyone was warned about the change in aquiring GOB, if they didn’t catch it, it’s not Anets fault. – One line, in the WvW section of the patch notes, with no hard date given for the change is not proper or sufficient warning. To suggest otherwise is blatantly insincere.

re: the regular wvw only player, when creating any of the new legendaries, will have to spend DAYS or WEEKS in PVE not only to get a gift of exploration, but now to also get a gift of Maguuma mastery and a gift of insights. – I sympathize. I don’t want to have to spend time outside of my preferred game mode, either. Don’t you think your time would be better spent appealing to Anet to make changes to allow WvW only players to achieve their goals without having to leave WvW?(Or having to spend less time out of WvW?) Is it so much easier to bash others than to try and help yourself?

re: @ Mike O’Brien I play PvE only so I can keep playing WvWvW. Stop violating my game mode. – So why do you want PvE only scrubs(I say this as one of them) being forced into your preferred game mode, dragging down your server and interfering with your hard-earned progress? Many of us are tying to contribute, but we’re taking up slots that could be used by experienced WvW players, who would be much more helpful.
So instead of wasting your time bashing people who have been wronged, why don’t you appeal to Anet to make more and better reward tracks so that you don’t have to spend as much/any time in PvE? Why don’t you try to help your situation?

re: Unless Anet took the GoBs out of your in inventory or banks then they’re not taking anything you’ve earned. – Yeah, ‘cuz “Bait and Switch” isn’t a thing. Proper notice was not given. That is the problem. The GoB reward track is generally considered to be a good thing.(Though it is also agreed that rewards need to be reworked.) Anet just needs to give people with saved badges a chance to redeem them for Gifts of Battle.

IMO we don’t need green, desperate, PvE only players invading WvW intent only on grinding out the GoB reward track. I see that as being overall a bad thing for WvW. And yes, I think that Anet should make it so that no one need leave their preferred game mode to achieve their goals. I do think that they should incentivize people to try other game modes. Long ago they had a period of time where bonus XP was offered in WvW. IMO this was a good way to persuade player to try WvW. Why can’t they do more stuff like that? (Actual incentive, rather than arm-twisting, coercion, or whatever you want to call it.)

Lol, I can’t believe there are still people who refuse to understand or admit there’s a problem.(PvE only players were not given proper notice to redeem their saved Badges of Honor for Gifts of Battle)

The effort that’s been spent coming in here and bashing PvE players,(who just want to redeem what they’ve already earned) could be much better spent appealing to Anet to make more/better WvW reward tracks. So that WvW players don’t have to spend so much time in PvE.(Which evidently makes them quite bitter and resentful – As a PvE only player, I can sympathize.)

And indeed the sickle motion of the plain tool is slower than the scythe motion of the Consortium tool. That’s a shame. It’s a permanent tool, it should(IMO) be faster than the ordinary tools. I see these as convenience items, emphasis on functionality. I’m sure others will disagree, but that’s how I’ve always seen them. I never wanted the flashy stuff.

I’ve waited for these for a long time, but I want to be sure that they’re account bound.

It’s not that the reward track is a bad thing. It’s probably much faster than accumulating the badges via achievement chests. The way that the change was handled, sneaking it into a section of the patch notes that most PvE only players wouldn’t bother to read. And not giving a date or any other notification when the WvW reward track exited beta. It seems very odd.

The big problem, however, is the ill will generated in PvE players who feel cheated out of the Gift(s) of Battle that they could have bought if they had just been given decent notice. And the WvW players who don’t want to put up with all the PvE only players who are just in WvW to grind out the Gift of Battle reward track, pulling down their server in the process.

Being forced into WvWto re-earn something they already could have bought(had they been given proper notice) is IMO a poor introduction to WvW. Being forced to do something is not very good way to get someone to like that thing.

I don’t see point here. Anet is not likely to get a lot of happy WvW converts out of this. And it will likely cause strife between WvW players and PvE/PvP players that have been arm-twisted into playing WvW.

I notice that there are a lot of neat reward tracks in WvW, so that they don’t have to play PvE to earn certain things. Why can’t PvE and PvP get this same courtesy? Why does Anet think that coercing someone into playing another game mode is a good thing. Entice us, don’t coerce us.

Enter should work, but it doesn’t. Because the dialog doesn’t follow Windows GUI standards of operation. The default choice should be highlighted and you’d use arrows or tab to move it to the other choice if you didn’t want the default choice. If this was the case, enter or space should work. But that’s not the way they set it up to work.

re: in 3 month the majority of pc will be windows 10. – You seem to think that at that time, all qualifying PC’s will be automatically and uncontrollably upgraded to Windows 10. And that this will all go without a hitch and be perfectly fine. This is not what’s happening. At the end of the one year free upgrade offer, people will have to pay to upgrade to Windows 10. Or maybe Microsoft will extend the deal. But they won’t upgrade all qualifying PC’s automatically.

re: if you got a green to switch to windows 7 and from there got a green to move to windows 10 you should be ok. – No. As someone who works on computers for a living, the Windows 10 compatibility checking tools are nowhere near perfect. I’ve seen several PC’s that were approved have issues and need to be rolled back to the previous version of Windows. To be fair, it works most of the time. But the older the machine is, the riskier it is.

But even if we aren’t specific and say “DX11 or higher”, the GW2 engine will not be ready for that without a major rework. All hype articles, white papers, and oddly irrelevant UEFI references not withstanding. It isn’t the simple, easy thing that you seem to think it is.

“Lion’s Arch Exterminator” is about shooting karka, right? – Yes, except for the last 5 are in a jumping puzzle. Why?

“For the Children” has a Wintersday ornament scavenger hunt where ornaments drop from chests. – Fantastic, finally something fair – you can get them in open world or by jumping. Except wait, the Sylvari and Charr ornaments don’t drop from open world chests. They only drop from jumping puzzle chests. Why can’t they all drop from open world chests?

World Completion(required to complete a Legendary weapon) includes two jumping puzzles.

Making Mawdrey II is gated behind at least one jumping puzzle.

And the list goes on… Why so much focus on jumping?

And why do some many people want us to cheese the jumping with mesmer portals? Doesn’t that cheapen your actual legitimate completion of the JP? Why is that so much better than just giving us more options?

re: I honestly do not know why people allways complain about options but want that the rest of the playerbase is actually forced to something, – No, those are the people who want options to be limited and for jumping to be one of them. (Narrowing the remaining options for those of us who can’t or dislike jumping) The “Anti-Jumping” people merely want more options, with jumping included as one of those options. The original post isn’t even specifically about dailies.

re: or gets taken something just so you don’t feel pressured to do optional daily jps. – You mean like those of us who lost one of our few daily options because they had to take out an option to add jumping?(Rather than just adding jumping as an additional option)
Get it straight, the people who can’t jump, or have difficulty jumping or dislike jumping. are the people who are losing out here. Not the people who want GW2 to be a cheap console port platformer. Anet is happily obliging those people.

In Lord of the Rings, did they play hopscotch to save the day? No, they geared up and went out and they fought the evil. And in the original Guild Wars games it was about fighting. And fighting didn’t mean bouncing around doing something that a squirrel could do better than a human being. It meant knowing your class, knowing your party, knowing the enemy, and being able to make a good plan and execute it well. It’s sad that GW2 is more about bouncing around(witness the Berserker meta) than actual strategy and tactics.
And why should achievements, items, etc… be gated behind jumping puzzles?(in a fantasy role playing game) Sure make lots of jumping titles and “achievements”, but don’t gate real stuff behind them. If this was Portal or a Mario game, sure. But this isn’t a platform jumping game, it’s a Fantasy Role Playing Game.

There is absolutely more and more pressure to do jumping in GW2. Festivals are more and more about jumping or PvP. More and more jumping is in the story, and in all the new achievements. Now it’s in the dailies.
People who find jumping easy don’t realize how much jumping there is in this game.
And this is in a game that’s a sequel to GW1, which had jumping only as an emote. I didn’t go out and buy Portal, or some other console jumping game. I bought a Fantasy Role Playing game.(the sequel to Guild Wars, which did not have jumping as a game mechanic) I don’t mind jumping being in the game for people who like it, but I don’t want mainstream content gated behind it. It’s difficult for me, and I despise it, so I don’t play jumping games. Except that more and more GW2 is becoming a jumping game. It barely resembles the GW1 games at all. One wonders why they even used the Guild Wars name. It seems like they didn’t want it to be at all like the original Guild Wars games. And more and more it’s about jumping and other twitch and reflex based play.

You’ve read some hype filled articles, and some misleading white papers, and you’re sure that they’re The Gospel Truth. Yet you pay no attention what Anet’s Lead Engine Designer has to say about it.
Yep, just do a compile with a -DX12 switch. Some person on the forums assures us that’s all we need to do.
You are severely underestimating the amount of work this will take to do.

Of course it’s possible. Race change, new playable races, and new weapons are all possible. Even finishing the missing new legendary weapons is possible. It’s whether or not Anet can invest the time and resources into it. It would be a major rework of the engine. And the changes would ripple out to other parts of the code and cause other changes to be needed. So it is most certainly not an “It’s a few lines of code, put a dev on it” thing.
But I actually agree with you. The current engine is really not sufficient. Scrap expansion 2, and start work on Guild Wars 3, with a totally new engine that will handle modern hardware and modern features of current APIs. I would license the engine from another company, or remake it from scratch. (I think licensing it would be the easier choice, but would introduce other problems. Neither choice is perfect.)

No one is disagreeing that DX12 has better stats than DX9, and more modern features. The problem is that the GW2 engine can’t take advantage of those modern features, and that DX isn’t the bottleneck(for GW2) in the first place. You should have read the linked reddit post rather than just rabidly posting more DX9 vs DX12 stuff. DX12 will not solve the problem, no matter how much anyone wants it to.(without the GW2 engine being majorly reworked)
IMO they need to forget expansion 2 and move on to GW3, with a totally new engine.

You have twelve options with likely even more during festivals.

Edit:

How about the following set:

  • Daily Ascalon Miner
  • Daily Straits of Devastation Event Completer
  • Daily Silverwastes Jumping Puzzle
  • Daily Kryta Vista
  • Daily Slay 5 Veterans – Maguuma
  • Daily Fractal Completer (Complete any two unique fractals)
  • Daily Dungeon Completer – Arah (Complete any path)

Now there’s a 75% increase in PvE daily achievements giving you more choices.

That’s a much better selection, and I think most everyone could find 3 choices out of those, even if they only play PvE. Though I wonder why you made most everything except events region based, while you made events map specific.

The login reward system only requires that you log in. You don’t even have to play at all. Eventually you may need to start claiming chests, so they don’t stack up too much.(Can anyone confirm how many reward chests will stack without causing issues?)

More specific dailies means overcrowding, clogging up (overly) specific events, areas, and places. This is bad. It makes those specific events/areas/places over crowded and less appealing. And can make it harder to accomplish the objective.(and certainly less fun) Having a well populated area is one thing, over populating an area is quite a different thing. We need more options, that are less specific for dailies.

We need more options, that are less specific for dailies. Region gatherer/events/etc… instead of map specific ones. Any World Boss, any mini dungeon, any jumping puzzle.

Why overcrowd certain specific areas? This is especially bad when the event daily is in a starter area. It badly overloads starter maps, and I would imagine it makes things very frustrating for new players.(Isn’t this why Anet said nerfed the Queensdale Champ Train?) I would imagine zergs makes mini dungeons not very fun, and probably also create issues in jumping puzzles.

I think that the easy, practical solution is more options for dailies. The daily system is already flexible enough for more tabs and more options(we’ve seen up to 6 per category) to be added.

More options would mean more satisfied players, and less unsatisfied players.(Though we’ll never see complaints go away completely, that’s just human nature) It would also mean bugged dailies are less critical.

re: Now that dailies give a guaranteed two gold, I don’t know that they should be easy. – Who here is asking for them to be easy? And why do people think that asking for more choice is asking for them to be easier? It’s to appeal to a broader audience, which is good business sense.

re: Now that dailies give a guaranteed two gold, I don’t know that they should be easy. – There are easier ways to make money. This argument holds little weight. Dailies aren’t a great way to make money.

Once again, I see no good or valid argument against having more choices available for dailies.(Meaning 3 out of 5, or 3 out of 6, maybe more if the system will support that many without having to be modified)

Have you tried going to a heavily populated area, like a city or a starter area World Boss, and asking your questions in map chat? I wouldn’t do this at higher level World Bosses, because there is a level of organization required, which means a lot of map chat chatter. And the people most likely to answer your questions are probably busy. So I would ask in a city or at a starter area World Boss. (A few minutes before the event starts.)

I would definitely ask your questions in map chat. There may be other people who have the same questions, but are nervous about asking them in chat. Or you might get more than one answer, and one of those might be a better answer than the others.

You will at some times get unhelpful or insulting answers. From people who think they’re funny, and people who expect you to magically know stuff that they (forgot) they had to learn the hard way. Ignore them. And if they’re particularly offensive, right-click on their name and block them.

Keep an eye on map chat at all times. And if you see someone who seems knowledgeable and willing to answer questions, then ask your questions.(Once again in map chat – that way the answers may benefit other people as well. Plus you may get answers from more than one person.)

And please don’t be apprehensive about asking questions, or getting unhelpful or insulting answers. The internet brings out the worst in some people. But you don’t know them and they don’t know you, so how can what they say even mean anything? If they’re particularly offensive block them and forget about it.

Please always be polite and considerate when asking your questions. If you are annoyed or angry about something that you’re having trouble with, please step away from it for a minute and give yourself a chance to calm down before asking your question. You don’t want to seem angry or unreasonable when asking for help.

re: Would mounts be culled if, as pointed out earlier in this thread (without a supporting quote unfortunately), a single mounted character model would replace the unmounted character, resulting in the same number of models, rather than adding an additional model due to the nature of how such can be handled by the GW2 engine? – It’s the same number of models, but some of them would be more complex. And if the engine needs to drop the amount of stuff it’s rendering, the logical choice (while in the “cull unnecessary graphics” mode) would be to drop back to the simpler, character-only model. So even given this information,(alternate, combined model used for mount/rider) I would think that mounts would still get culled, at times when the engine needs to cut down on the total amount of graphics that it’s rendering.
So probably, instead of riding an imaginary mount that isn’t there, you would abruptly fall to the ground.

What I want is to be able to go to my store, in my neighborhood. And get the groceries on the list. My Store, in my neighborhood should carry a wider variety of items, so I don’t have to go to a different store.
But that’s where this analogy breaks down. Because it would coast a store significantly to increase the total number if items that they carry. Anet just needs to spend a little time for meetings to go over the changes, and then a little time for someone to turn on the extra options.(As stated before, the capability is already built-in, proven by festivals.)

I don’t want players there, who feel like they have to be there, because they’re working towards something which is (unfairly) restricted to PvE. This goes beyond dailies. There are other things unfairly restricted to certain game modes.
Why would anyone want players in a game mode that don’t want to be there, and are just there to cheese dailies/get some special item, etc… I would think that this would be especially crucial for PvP and WvW, where players always need to be engaged and participating. Not resenting every second they’re in there and wishing they were in another mode the whole time. I would think that would bring the whole game mode down. Who would want their preferred game mode brought down by people who don’t want to be there?

And if they didn’t do that, then idiots and trolls would just use them as a source of clutter. It would be impossible to see and bank tellers, vendors, etc… for all the mounts.

And it’s against lore. Since GW1, only the bad guys have had mounts. And those are rare. I can think of two examples of this in GW1. HoT has two or maybe three?

re: someone who said we should change it simply because people have differing tastes. So I asked where should that stop and how each time they did a change to appease one group’s tastes, you’d have another group that would go: but that goes against my preferences. – And how would giving everyone more choices be against people’s preferences? The only preference that it would seem to go against, is this odd preference some people have for the game to be more restricted, with less options. And that just makes no sense. (And the people who will complain about anything. But of course, they’ll complain about anything – so you just can’t win with them. They’ll always be complaining.)

re: Changing just because of people’s preferences isn’t the best course of action in a game with a wide target audience. – On the contrary. With a wide target audience, you want more choices and you want them to be less restricted.

re: See if you can find someone to group with that has those maps open and if you have Teleport to Friend items. This is a quick way to get some way points in those areas. – Why should people have to burn a teleport to friend, for a daily? Why should they have to PUG for them? More choices, that are less restrictive, will make less problems.

re: It will take soooooo muuuuuuch WOOOOOORRRKK to add more choices to dailies. – I guess all of you asserting this have missed how such flexibility is already built into the dailies system. There are more options and categories added every festival, for quite some time now. This capability is already built in. And the recent SAB festival proves that categories can already hold up to 6.(maybe more) And I think 6 options for each game mode is a great place to start. Especially if they make them less restricted.

re: If the dailies aren’t fun, don’t do them – This is a problem. The dailies should be fun.

re: there are plenty of other ways to earn loot in the game – That’s right, therefore the dailies should be fun. For a wide variety of people.

re: the dailies are designed to get people to spread out and do different things. – I am not some clueless idiot who has no idea what he wants to do with his time. And I suspect that I am not alone in this. If something seems like it would be fun/interesting/rewarding, etc… I try it. But lately I’m finding that there are less fun options.(IMO) This concerns me. Once again, more options, that are less restricted would help.

re: There are PvE dailies in WvW pretty much every day. This increases the number of PvE options to as much as six or seven fairly frequently. – No, it makes them WvW dailies. Hence the category they’re in. Yes, I’ll go buy badges every once in a while, when the (IMO) “good” options are slim. But why should I have to learn a whole different game mode, and all new maps, for a daily? I don’t think it’s right to cheese dailies by going into a different mode and “not really playing” to get them. And how is that fun?

And once again, how do more options, that are less restricted hurt anyone? Unless you’re in this (IMO) weird crowd that seems to think that games should be work and absolutely NO FUN AT ALL. Why do people like that even play games? Geez, get a job, or a second job. The rest of us, we’re here for the fun.

re: Is there a bug with the dailies causing them when you don’t have HoT? – No, but it’s an oversight for Anet to assume that everyone who has HoT has everything explored and unlocked. If you read Imry’s first post, that is explained.(Imry is a relatively new player, and has hardly explored HoT yet.)

Once again my mind is blown by the people who desperately, passionately want there to be less options for people to have fun in this game. How is it better for the game to be less fun? Why shouldn’t all game modes have more options?
And to the people who say “It’s optional” – of course it is. Guild Wars 2 is a game, and is therefore entirely optional. Anet should be giving us more options and enticing us with more fun activities, instead of punishing us by forcing us to do things that we don’t want to. If this was work, I’d say “Yeah, there will always be things you have to do, that you don’t want to do.” But it’s game. It should be fun and entertaining. There should be positive reinforcement to stay and do more. Not some tedious quota to check off. Different people have different tastes. So there should be more options to accommodate those varying tastes. Yes this is a game, and yes it’s entirely optional. We don’t have to play it, so Anet should care to make it fun and rewarding. For the people who want GW2 to be nothing but tedium and drudgery, there’s work for that.

The other day my boss came to visit me at my desk. He had a new tool that would help me do my job. He said that it had to be placed in a certain spot. And put it down between my phone and rolodex. Moving the rolodex left no room for my mouse, which then got moved from the right side of my keyboard to the left. The mouse displaced my stapler and paper clips, which got placed in the drawer. Moving my phone over meant moving my Inbox over, which left no room for my outbox. The outbox got moved to another section of my desk, which displaced my pen/pencil cup, which my boss left me holding as there was no room for it anywhere on the desk, and it was too tall to fit in the drawer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is not a true story, but it’s what it feels like to the people complaining about the shared inventory slot messing up their inventory. It’s like someone went and rearranged their desk without permission, and with no thought for how they conduct their daily work. And told them it had to stay that way.
The point is, if Anet can get it out of their way, it ought to become a non-problem, or even useful to them. And there are probably a good many people that aren’t bothered by this, but would find it far more useful on the bottom. I would suspect that the UI developer(s) on this project made that suggestion early on, but the advice was not taken.
Or you could, um, you know, just butt out and leave them alone? If it offends you that they’re having issue with this, then you must really struggle dealing with people out in the real world.
I think we need to try to work towards a solution.
IMO there are two practical solutions Anet is likely to implement, with the third being removal. It would be helpful if people would say which of these would help them in their particular situation:
Hide/Unhide – Shared inventory slots can be toggled as hidden or visible, regardless of show bags setting.
Top/Bottom- Shared inventory slots can be toggled to show at the top or bottom of the inventory.
Removal – Remove the free shared inventory slot form the account.
It would also be nice to know who would find more than one of these satisfactory, (or none of them) and why. But I don’t think we’re likely to get any other options.(than these three) I don’t know that it would be practical to have them be placed at whatever location the player wants.
I’m sorry some of you are bothered by this. I really hate it when my inventory gets messed up. So much so that I have all invisible bags except for the top one on all my characters.(then 3 years later Anet decides to give us the option to put the compact button where it always should have been) :p So I can sympathize, but we need to try and work within Anet’s limitations.
And thank you Anet, for giving all HoT owners a free shared inventory slot, and a free level 80 boost(with associated gear)
<edit, wording – Thanks Mansa>
In Options, Controls, key bindings, in the Camera section there is a binding for “look behind”. This makes the camera spin from behind looking forward(with a view of the back of your character) to in front of your character looking back.(with a view of the front of your character) It will hold this view as long as you hold that key down, and works while moving.
I don’t think there is a way to disable the aegis shield effect. It makes me wish there was a “photo mode” where characters would sit still and not go into idle animations, auto stow weapons, etc… And you could disable undesired effects.
Does the software industry have a tendency to over promise and under deliver? Yes. So much so that many people have a tendency to expect a degree of disappointment with new software.(Not if they’ll be disappointed, but how much they’ll be disappointed.) Does this excuse it? No. Does it excuse the degree to which Anet over promised and under delivered? Certainly not. We can debate over terms like “false advertising”, and “fraud”, but the simple fact is that things were explicitly mentioned in promotional materials, which have not been included or have been postponed/delayed indefinitely.(New legendary weapons holding at 4 of 16, for example. And where is Legendary Armor?) And worse, there are things which were delivered, but were not viable.(scribing, precursor journeys and WvW “upgrade” were just disasters)
We were warned that HoT would be a little thin on content, because the primary focus was changing the game infrastructure so it would be easier to expand and add new content.
The result:
Legendary journeys are so difficult and time consuming that they’ve been put on hold.
Raids are so difficult to make, the first one still isn’t complete.
WvW is so hard to fix that they’ve changed plans and are rolling it out a little at a time.
New armor sets are still so hard to make that they’ve swapped emphasis to outfits.
There has been a lot of hue and cry about the new legendaries hold/cancellation, but rather than being specifically about that particular thing, I think that the New Legendary Fiasco is that final straw that broke the camel’s back, and finally made many people wake up and realize how badly Anet has been under performing, and for how long. When 16 New Legendary Weapons are a bullet point on your glossy, and 5 months later you decide to stop at 4, there are major underlying problems that need to be addressed. When you break an entire game mode, and 5 months later there’s not only no fix, but no ETA on a fix, there are major underlying problems that need to be addressed. When the final Boss fight, the climax of your flagship product, still has major bugs (and stupid mechanics like a “penalty box”) 4 months or more after shipping, there are major underlying problems that need to be addressed. When you roll out a broken, non-viable crafting profession, and tie guild hall expansion to it, and it still isn’t fixed 5 months later, there are major underlying problems that need to be addressed.
Earlier someone proposed that it’s the right thing for Anet to do, forging ahead with a second expansion now (while many things are still badly broken)in order to save the franchise. And that sounds fairly reasonable, except that you need to realize that Anet must win back the trust, and interest, and fandom of their customer base. Or they’ll have to win over a whole new customer base to buy whatever comes next. I think they should flush the second expansion,(it won’t be relevant) and bring all those people over to fix Core Tyria and HoT. They need to make them viable, entertaining, and rewarding. And win back the trust of their customer base. Then(if they’ve done well) we’ll care enough to buy Guild Wars 3. Which IMO, should be the next product released. With a new engine, which will handle all the stuff they’re trying to shoehorn into and tack onto Guild Wars 2. And they’ll do a better job because they will have learned from all the mistakes that they made with Guild Wars 2.(They better learn from their mistakes – the ones with the game design and implementation, and with how they treat their customers. They really don’t have a choice if they want to continue making games.)
So while I don’t know that I would call all of this “fraud” or “false advertising”, it is a clear indication of an urgent need for improvement. And of a need to end wasteful distractions and focus on more important priorities.
I’d like to help you with your GH claim. I’m in NA, Eastern time zone. I have a commander tag, so we could go in with a group of more than 5. In fact, I would advise that you please hold until you can get a group of 7 to 9 if you’d like to get the claim in one try. Which hall are you trying to claim? What voice chat do you use?
I hope things go well for your dog.
