Conditionmancer: Dmg or Duration

Condition damage for pvp

Condition duration for pve.
—————-
Assuming the player you are versing is a decent player, he will remove the bleeds.

In pvp its better to have burst than duration, if you think the guy won’t cleanse, then go duration. If he will, go dmg(wow d a m a ge ) censored?)

Either way, its pretty much the same outcome and necro’s conditions are aoe mostly so they still fall short to lets say…..ranger.

ANet needs better matchmaking, but on top of that, yea I don’t think it would be a bad idea to have something like this in place. Plenty of “competitive” games do it already, why doesn’t ANet? It lets players get a feel for the gametype and weeds out those just wanting to test builds for WvW.

e: sigh, 4 games in a row with sub rank 5’s, players who had no idea what to do in a tournament, let alone their classes in general. Not wasting my time with this kitten.

Well matchmaking isn’t anything but put 5v5 in a room right now. Even then it doesn’t always end up 5v5 and will put in 4v5 without penalty to the absent person. I’d rather have solo-que vs solo-que then have premade vs solo que and newbies.
———————————-

Sub rank 10 players more often than not have no idea how spvp works. Now there are rare exceptions, people who already played spvp but use a different account, have studied extensively, or even just play WvW a lot.

Problem is, those sub rank 10 players are maybe 1% of the total population that joins ques. Most of them are pretty obvious to spot:

Warrior with starting armor on and a rifle. Not even color changes.
-last match i played.

Its as if they go into mist and the first instinct you had was to use tPvP instead of hotjoin and not even bother with armor.

Its just basic entry level stuff.

Simple fix that goes a long way.

Discipline Trait III: Move faster while carrying a melee weapon.

Yeah, we don’t have a 25% movement speed signet, and that trait alone only gives us 10%.

I say give it to warriors without needing to trait it. Why? Because we need mobility in a general sense too. Hell, we are a melee class that stands out in the open with limited buffs.

Either that or buff it to 25%, because 10% for that is way too much.

Conditions mitigate armor and can be spread by epidemic.

Which would be a huge thing…….if that mattered in spvp. Straight damage still blows conditions away by miles, and armor really doesn’t play that big of a difference. I mean you got warrior and guardian in heavy armor. Sure, warrior might take that as a negative but guardian has no problem with condition removal.

Epidemic doesn’t really spread conditions as well as you’d think. First off it can be dodged, and it also takes 1 second cast leaving a huge interrupt window.
-Beyond that most conditions are aoe already, and even with epidemic(which mainly is good for ove/spvp and non competitive pvp), your conditions still won’t do the damage as basic aoe by other classes.(even when specced full conditions)

I think necs are an extremely solid class, they just don’t function so well by themselves. In a team they’re amazing, solo they are decent but not on par with the solo superstars.

In a team there are a couple other proffessions that are better, even for offense.

Eviscerate is brutal when it connects..

Uh…..minion build are awful for pvp and spvp.

Why? the Ai is bad and they require so much traiting that you pretty much have to go FULL minion to do anything.

Its a good idea, but implemented poorly.

Heh, think it depends on your build and playstyle. I know I’m going to get flamed but, can’t say I’ve personally had a lot of trouble, it’s been pretty easy tbh – usually in the top 2 for points and running 90% + win ratio in tpvp and spvp on my necro. Having said that though I think competitive builds are limited and minion AI is just terrible – if they would all attack the target I want them to attack it would be fantastic as minion/axe builds can dish out a lot of damage..

Anyway my 2 cents, I think classes like warriors have it a lot harder and the thing is everyone does complain about how weak there class is compared to other classes – the grass is always greener I guess….

Hey if I got carried i wouldn’t have a hard time either.
-Pretty much sums it up right there.

Warriors have it “alright”. I think the movement speed trait(while holding melee) should just be already incorporated though, that is just silly.

I am lvl 1 in sPvP on 1 of my accounts
and lvl 30ish on my other.

Does that mean that if I want to make another character on my second account I have to regrind to victory just to play tourney with that character?

Yes. I won’t ask the reason, but usually most people don’t buy another account anyway so it would be an extremely rare scenario. Pvp Level goes across all the characters, so the average person would tend to buy a character slot instead of an entirely different copy of the game.

I love my necro to death(bad joke) but its just…..sad.

I mean we have no escape mechanics., our conditions are horrible, and our minion ai is braindead. Power necro is alright, but worse than the other class variants of the build. Our heals are pretty awful, especially because of our large hp pool.
———————

Conditions: Well lets just take a minute to think about this. Conditions are mainly bleeds and poison. Both being relatively weak per cast, but they do damage over time!
-But HOW much damage over time?!

A basic auto cast(scepter) is 550 if rolled condition. That includes BOTH the bleeds and the base damage. Since crits don’t apply to bleeds, it will probably go around 600 tops per cast. Not total, 550 over 5 seconds. That is pretty bad considering most other classes get this much from base damage much less with critical damage applied on one hit alone.

Lets get into stacking, which is pretty awful. Considering we are the supposed to be THE condition class, you’d think we’d have an easy time.

But we get all these high damage attacks, 2-3k for one cast! Yeah…..over 10 seconds. Which if anyone knows, is nothing compared to the base damage of other professions in a lot shorter time period.(for aoe). And also, we can’t crit on those cast. The bleeds do the same no matter what.

But that isn’t even the best part, our conditions are able to be removed easily! So that small 500 auto attack, that 4k aoe that hasn’t even ticked for half. GONE

What. the. hell.

Our conditions, are pathetic. We have so many options, yet none of them do even decent damage and we aren’t a class that can kite very well either.
——————————-

I just can’t express enough how annoying it is to play a necro knowing that its not competitive.

Or just have proper MMR.

Well this would serve as a hotfix until they designed that system.

I suggest having level restrictions that anyone under lvl 10(pvp rank) cannot join tourneys.

This is an issue because even with 4/5 premade or lower, you will get lvl 1’s or people that have no clue what they are doing.

Generally it doesn’t take long to reach level 10, so i think this would be a good barrier to entry without making people feel like they need to grind to get better.
