For me:
Nostromo:
6-10 = weapon skills 5-1 (I reversed this so my index finger is on auto-attack, and my pinkie gets the skill with the largest cooldown)
1 = Elite
11= Heal
12-14 = Utilities 1-3
2-5 = Attunement swapping / Guardian Virtues / Stealing / whatever
up/down = forward/backward
left/right = strafe/strafe
Mouse
Mouse3 = activate / pickup / talk / whatever
Mouse4 = weapon swap
Mouse5= Dodge
Mouse6= Jump
Mouse7 = Pukitteno-Talk (vent / teamspeak3)
The functions: Hero/Guild/Inventory/Weapon Sheathing/Map/Score don’t help me in combat, I keep these on the keyboard.
Turn Around/Look Behind = Just use the mouse
Some information on Retaliation:
- it is based on the Guardian’s Attack Power (not their condition damage).
- There is no corelation between the damage output of Retaliation and the damage the guardian recieves. So you can hit them for 1hp of damage and take 300 in return.
- I’m pretty sure Retaliation does not trigger on bleed ticks or any other conditions.
And this is the biggest advice I can give.
What attacks are you using on the guardian? If your skill says “Deals 2000 damage, x10 hits” then all 10 of those hits will total 2000 damage. However you did hit the guardian 10 times. So if the Guardians’ retaliation does 300 each hit…. well…. you took 3000 damage while dealing 2000 damage.
Or even a check-box: “Show only Usable Items”.
So if they made this possible, I could drop all my aoes on staff, quickly run out of combat, switch to dd ele, drop my burst, run out of combat, switch to staff, drop all my aoes, run out of combat…
Yeah that’s not broken. I have no problem pressing [I] or [H] and equipping different weapons on any of my characters.
By the time you manage to drop combat, swap, rejoin your opponent would of had time to 100% heal. OR you would of been 100% useless to your zerg while trying to drop combat.
Further the devs can give Ele’s an out-of-combat cooldown of 20 seconds to swap weapons as per my suggestion above.
I agree. +1 for OUT OF COMBAT weapon swapping for Ele’s and Engineers.
I’ll even suffer 20 seconds of an out-of-combat cooldown to swap.
I do like the first suggestion, its ridiculous how easily that skill just stops.
About the second I am not so sure. There are times when it would’ve been good to just place the skill at max range, but for most of the time that wouldn’t actually help at all. (Throw it at place where there are no opponents just because the opponent you were targeting was slightly too far for example.)
The circle could still remain red, allowing you to see it is still out of optimal placement range. You can still finalize it, allowing the game to place it the best it could (max distance in the direction indicated).
I thought up another change, but this could be applied universally to all ground targeted skills:
While attempting to place a ground targeted skill, allow the skill to be placed out of range (while the circle is red). Then have the game just place the ability at the skill’s max range in the direction indicated.
Would it be possible for Lightning Flash to be able to navigate difficult terrain a bit better? Currently if there is a small obstruction in terrain, a rock or a crevice the skill fails.
I was thinking along the pathfinding Engineer Rifle #5 (Jump Shot), or Guardian Greatsword #3 (Leap of Faith) would perform.
I suppose I could just jump, but I’m lazy.
You may be able to achieve what you want with a programmable keyboard (e.g. Logitech’s G13 or G19 keyboards).
This route isn’t a “game hack” nor does this modify the game or modify/manage game memory/logic and as such is likely nothing Anet can do to you.
Fix this!
I’ve messed up so many skill activations because I have no target anymore…. or my target is now changed.
How to kill mobs as an elementalist:
1) Get the skill “Lightning Hammer”.
2) Invest the points in the Fire Trait so your conjures have 10 more charges
3) Profit
All you have to do is attack with LH skill #1. Every 3rd hit is a AoE blind. You can almost always get get 3 hits in for every one attack a mob does.
You can even take out Veterans.
Caveat: This is the boring way to do it.
I can see Bots taking advantage of this and reporting random people. The bots that don’t get banned now get a bonus.
Further… innocent players are now in the crossfire.
Lets keep thinking of ideas though.
