I accidentally sold two pieces of my transmuted Primeval Armor set to a vendor after a dungeon run. Is there any way to get these back, or are they just gone?

Engineer is the only profession I haven’t made yet, and I’d like to try it out (also need to finish that persky 82/83 Hint Completion achievement). So far, my 80’s are Necromancer, Ranger, and Thief. I mainly do WvW, but a side of decent PvE and dungeons couldn’t hurt. In WvW I’m typically going to be zerging and roaming, so is the Engineer good in those regards? And last but not least: is the profession fun?

I use 6x Melandru Runes, and Superior Sigil of Blood + Accuracy on my Axe/Warhorn, with Superior Sigil of Blood on my Staff.

If you’re going to be doing smaller group fights, a Well build might work well for you (will also work fine in zergs). The traits are variable, you can take most combinations and do well based on if you’re looking more towards survivability or tankiness – I personally use 0/25/25/20/0 or 10/0/20/30/0 depending on the role my group needs me to fill. I’m using Knight’s helm, coat and leggings with the rest Berserker. I take Cavalier rings, accessories and backpiece with either Berserker+Valkyrie or Knight’s for the amulet. I didn’t opt for PVT as Necros already have a nicely-sized HP pool, as well as Death Shroud, so I decided to spec heavily into toughness for my defense.

Weapons are Berserker’s staff, and a choice of Berserker’s Axe/Warhorn or Scepter/Warhorn. I find Scepter to be a better choice in smaller engagements but I prefer axe in zergs due to the boon stripping and retaliation. Utilities are Well of Corruption, Well of Suffering, and your choice for the final utility (I prefer Signet of the Locust or Spectral Walk for more mobility, as necros have no innate mobility).

I’ve been roaming on a thief for a bit with both D/D and D/P. I started off with a 0/30/30/10/0 D/D build, and it worked fairly well, especially against MM necros, rangers and mesmers due to the easy CnD you can pull off on them. However, after I started rolling D/P, I realized a few things. Every single skill on the D/P set is great, while #3 and #4 are arguably useless on the D/D set. The utility in the gapcloser on D/P #3 and the interrupt on #4 is invaluable – especially the blind from Black Powder which lets you duel toe-to-toe with warriors and other D/D, D/P thieves.

While D/D brings slightly more upfront damage with CnD + Backstab, D/P has far more utility in a high-damage gapcloser, on-demand interrupt, and a blind field that doubles as on-demand stealth. As much as I love the D/D playstyle thematically, I’d suggest getting good with D/P: as of now, it’s the far superior weapon set.

Can you quote the poster who said TC only zergs against lower ranked servers for practice? If this was actually said it sounds like you were being trolled, successfully too it would seem. Every server zergs, it’s the nature of the game.

It appears to me you have a chip on your shoulder about TC but don’t worry, I will still recommend FA as a good server to consider transferring too to anyone or any guild looking for a T2 server. Personally, I enjoy fighting FA when you field decent numbers.

Why thank you. And I really enjoy fighting TC as well! Especially when guilds meet us in the open field. Regarding spawn camping, yes its unfortunate, but somebody said that the same was done to TC implying it was payback.

Doesn’t seem like a troll post to me. My point is, while FA has its fair shares of QQing, its great when TC claims to be outnumbered. Nothing wrong with zergs, and hell, FA does it too- I’ve seen it. But I just love it when TC nerds make these excuses. Which is why I think people from other servers who enjoys fighting TC and enjoys making nerds make excuses on the forums, consider FA.

Are we still calling other people nerds to try to insult them? In the same game we’re all playing? Is this 1986?

You have used RTL with Autotarget on, went flailing off a bridge into 6 scales (super regen at low levels yay) and their drake friends (losing half hp for your troubles).

This is actually the reason I decided to turn off Autotarget.

For about 6 months now, I’ve been almost exclusively solo roaming or running small havoc groups on my Thief and my BM bunker Ranger, and I’ve been wanting to get more into the zerging scene with a good class. Besides those two classes, I have:

• 37 Asura Elementalist
• 51 Human Warrior
• 22 Charr Guardian

Which one of these should I level to 80 next? I’m looking for the class that has a decent amount of tankiness, with good AoE capabilities for tagging and a fair amount of damage (though it’s not a main focus). I was thinking about running a D/D bunker or staff Elementalist, but I want to know what Guardians and Warriors have over Eles, and what Eles have over them – or if I should just make a new character entirely. Recreating for a Necro or Engi is not out of the question. Thanks in advance.

I don’t think any professions are bad in WvW; each profession has a specific niche over others – that’s the point of different professions. However, in Zerg vs Zerg fights, undoubtably some professions are better off than others – that doesn’t necessarily make the others bad. Every profession has a spot in a zerg fight. If I did have to tier-list them though, it would probably look like this:

Elementalist
Warrior

T2
Necromancer
Mesmer
Engineer
Thief
Ranger

Note: This is centered around ZvZ, and not other areas of WvW such as solo roaming, small havoc groups and utility.

What are the best choices of weapon sets for the Ranger in WvW small groups, solo roaming, and ZvZ respectively? I’ve been using Sword / Warhorn, Axe / Warhorn, Longbow, and Sword / Axe.

So, I’ve got about 1200 excess CoF tokens, and I’m not sure what to use it on. I can’t gear up alts, because I’ve only got one other 80 and it’s full exotic as well. I have 50 Black Lion Salvage Kit uses, so I’ve been thinking about using them all on rares to salvage for ectos – if I do this, should I hold on to them until after the CoF nerf? Or should I just buy four exotics and throw them into the forge?
