These screenshots are all at the end of a game. Players don’t get autobalanced towards the end of matches so that people don’t get forced onto a losing team. Of course this doesn’t do anything for afk players. Maybe the afk timer needs to be shortened?

The same results of those screen shots can be captured at the beginning or middle of the game.

Then autobalance would/should have kicked in. Are you saying there is a bug with autobalance? Is it possible you checked the scoreboard after someone left, and before the autobalance happened?

I don’t know if there is a bug, I know that when people get auto balanced out they leave the game and then people join back in and the teams aren’t balanced (just as in the above) Some people leave when they’re auto’d off of their friends team and try to rejoin again.

It may just be an unfortunate result of the volatility of pugs

I disagree, it’s the unfortunate result of there not being any penalty for leaving. People who are auto balanced to the losing side and then leaving only to requeue somewhere else is what is causing this whole issue.

Maybe we need to call out better the fact that you still get the win bonus. And hot-join games aren’t meant to have penalties for things like leaving in the same way you don’t get a penalty for leaving a TF2 match.

Sorry there hasn’t been any updates about this. We are currently testing a fix internally. The issue does effect the whole game, but because players see the load screen so much more often in PvP, this player base is affected more. It also has nothing to do with what profession stomped you :P

I’ve looked into this and believe I have found the root cause. There were some achievements that were made, but not added to any of the categories that people could silently complete. Before the patch, these points would be added into your total. After the patch, these leftover achievements are not considered valid and therefore will not count towards your total. This is why only a small number of points are still missing. This is correct though, as those leftover achievements were never meant to be progressed anyways.

If the team scores are tied, we compare total player scores for each team. In this case, it looks liked the red team had a total of 50 more player-score.

Apologies for not catching it. The last post I found about it was buried over the weekend.

I was talking about ingame game bug reports, but yeah w/e.. at least now you are looking into it.
Btw question, is the lag gona stahp now that the Lost Shores event is over?

I’m going to go find out why the bug reports didn’t get filtered down to our team.
As far as the lag, I don’t have the ability to check those metrics. I’ll see if a server-dude can help out.

ooooo so the locker will eventually be able to hold multiples?

Was discussed a bit in a thread a while ago. We haven’t designed what the new locker would be. We just know it needs a revamp since we’re so limited as it is. I would imagine we would do away with needing to hold onto multiple because the whole system is meant to be for skin “unlocks”.

Chests can give any item type. Depositing your skins into the locker allows any of your characters to pull the items back out and use. Extra items you can salvage to throw into the mystic forge to get something specific. Unfortunately, the locker only holds one for now because of technical reasons.

Sure, you may never lose a player due to a missed promise with your strategy but you’re losing a lot due to the silence.

Agree to disagree.

There are guidelines and best practices for interacting with the community, and it’s safer in most cases to be cautious about what you say. If we had a dedicated community rep for the PvP team, perhaps we could be more communicative. However, as a programmer, I try to be careful with what I say. We don’t have the resources right now to get to the level of communication the community is asking for.

It’s simply not viable to share every milestone plan with the public. Things get re-prioritized, postponed, cancelled, redesigned, etc all the time, and every time that happened there would be a crap-storm of complaining by the people who’s favourite feature didn’t stay on the list.

This is very true.

On a side note with this gear stuff, how about something useful to do with my overwhelming amount of account bound arcane powder?

There should be something in today’s patch to help with that, but I won’t spoil the surprise.

Why don’t you share your list with us? All of this cryptic, “can’t give too much information(tip of the iceberg)”nonsense is for third graders trying to disguise their crush on someone.

Its because making false promises is worse than not elaborating.

Any elaboration on this? I for one would like to see the locker become something that “eats” a piece of PvP gear and unlocks it for multiple removals (but obviously not salvageable at that point).

It should indeed be an unlock system. We haven’t designed how the new locker would work, but I would imagine it would be similar to dyes, and would be right inside your hero panel. i.e. Click slot, click skin. No reapplying upgrades.

Considering the map is being shipped with BETA status, I wouldn’t consider it proven from a competitive standpoint. I’m not saying it won’t ever be in the tournament rotation, just not right now. After talking to people, we aren’t considering the teleporting a bug. I also wouldn’t consider it an issue on the new map.

The game already supports the splitting, best example = Confusion condition.

This is correct. The game already supports splitting skills between PvE and PvP. It is used in situations where the skill couldn’t be balanced otherwise, like confusion damage.

I understand the frustrations that come with inaccurate descriptions. I’ve worked a lot on the skill “fact” system to bring it up to a good point, but I know there is more we can do. This includes making all buffs, upgrades, sigils, and traits affect skill tooltip numbers (some already do), adding additional skill facts based on traits, as well as adding the same or similar “fact” system to trait descriptions.

There are a couple reasons why trait/skill descriptions aren’t as accurate as they could be. They were constantly changing up until ship for balance and polish. This means some of the descriptions are just out of date. Also, each time a number is changed within the text, it needs to get localized again. This means it’s more efficient to make them a little more vague to lessen the localization cost and protect ourselves if that number needs to change again. That’s why skills have “facts” instead of baking the numbers into the descriptions. The last reason it’s difficult to keep skills and traits accurate is because of technical and time limitations. Our skills are complicated, and it takes designers a lot of time to make sure the numerous parts are correct. Sometimes we don’t even have the ability to make the facts accurate (summon’s damage was a tricky one).

I’m personally very passionate about skill descriptions. We know there are improvements that can be made and I’ll push to get time to revisit them because, well, I just like them
