People might be able to make two legendaries (twilight and sunrise) and then get back a huge chunk of money.

If I make two legendaries, say quip and frostfang, I get nothing back .

There is little to no effort in obtaining eternity if all one wants are twilight and sunrise weapon skins as the mystic forge recipe for eternity, aside from twilight and sunrise, is really easy to obtain: it’s just 5 piles of crystalline dust and 10 philosopher stones

So really, this is unethical. And your assumptions are massive, Shockwave, and decrease the validity of all your arguments in a big way.

It reminds me of when Dark Matter was first introduced, and people were buying exotic gear with pricey runes/sigils, salvaging them for Dark Matter, and then selling the rune or sigil back and making most of their money back, or even profiting sometimes.

Eventually the gear became a lot more expensive than the sigil or rune it contained.

The person you quoted is talking about prices lowering.

But if people are able to make twilight and sunrise and then sell eternity whilst retaining the ability to have twilight and surnise as a skin then there is going to be great demand on the items that are used to craft twilight and sunrise, furthermore twilight and sunrise themselves will go up in price.

So prices won’t be lowering on the grand-scale, we may see a slight price drop in eternities, but on the whole, prices for many things, across the board, will most likely skyrocket.

If anet doesn’t change how this works, and players are able to effectively get a sunrise legendary weapon unlocked in their wardrobe and a twilight legendary weapon unlocked in their wardrobe whilst also then selling the eternity weapon for a huge sum, then the game will have a massive unethical situation.

The wardrobe was never meant to be used in this way, it was never meant to open up loopholes for players to obtain weaponry or armours that have huge financial value whilst also making/obtaining massive sums of financial value at the same time.

It is ridiculous to try and shrug this off simply because the equation can be done with something of a much lesser value – stop. Just stop. You’re conveniently being obtuse and missing the very, very important context of this situation.

Simply, the system has to make sure that this situation cannot happen. It would invert the logic and rationale of legendary weapon creation that Arenanet and many, many players have come to understand and accept and enjoy.

Without a doubt many players are looking forward to hopefully getting two legendaries (twilight and sunrise) and then selling eternity for a chunk of gold, and they’ll spout bad analogies or try to say ‘but look, there’s something even worse happenign here!’ that’s just because they don’t want people to make Arenanet aware that we want Arenanet to continue the philosophy and methodology of legendary weapon creation that they have fostered since GW2 began.

That is Lanfear’s view on legendary items. Which is not consistent with Arenanet’s view, nor my view. And I wouldn’t bother discussing any further with Lanfear the subject at hand as they fundamentally misunderstand the concepts.

Nobody really looks at legendaries or high priced dyes as exclusive things… I mean just WP into LA and there’s tons of legendaries and celestial and abyss people.

‘Exclusivity’ does not really exist in MMO’s/hasn’t existed for a long time.

I was thinking about you just last night, and what we spoke about many moons ago RE: character portraits.

I’m glad I stumbled in here, not only because I’d still like to commission some art, but also it’s just nice to catch up on what new artworks you have done!

I am currently in the process of seeing if some investments pay off in game, which would then fund things like me getting artwork done – these are semi-long term investments so yeah.

1. Not happy with not being involved in the decision process with regards to the wardrobe, wearing ‘town clothing’ in combat, and then in consequence losing the ability to mix-and-match town clothing. These decisions should be put to the community to decide!

2. Anet has made tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons of money thru the gem sales. Put this towards the devs and figure out a way so people can still mix-and-match their town clothing. Anet, write a letter to NCSOFT/NEXON (whoever) and let them know that this sort of action is irresponsible and will hit them hard in the financial sector. More importantly (imo) is that this future change is unethical to many, many players.

3. Start being more open about your design decisions. There’s no need for Anet to hide away and make decisions without the community being significantly and obviously involved. Give us weekly/monthly polls. We have bought the game, we have bought gems, secure your own quality of life (if you love gw2 like we do) and financial future by listening to your player base, i.e., the ones that are going to continue financing this game and ergo your careers.

Anet please do the right thing. And if you guys are struggling getting messages thru to NCSOFT/NEXON let us know and we can have a strong, stern word to them. They have their fingers in many pies and they perhaps need to get theirs out of GW2.

Saying TC has 5-6 hours of uncontested PvD discredits the OXC, et al, guilds on FA and Mag, I know you may not actually have that opinion DT, as the post you’ve made strives to sum up what has happened/will be recounted on the forums.

On another topic, I just saw TC siege in open field, I have confirmed word it was dropped, built, and used by green-horns.

To FA that have been in EB just now, that were trying to take back Overlook… I think you guys woulda had a stronger opportunity if your intel was a bit more precise, as there were walls down on the eastern side leading to inner, but your zerg was slowed, and thus, began to wipe from the tail end moving to the middle and eventually the front.

You guys fought hard and moved well, I did my best to disrupt that by throwing some static fields and meteor showers down.

Friendly reminder not to generalize entire servers/guilds because of how a few ppl play.

Sometimes taking a camp from VR is harder than taking SMC. Those guys are pros.

Tyrion, wvw is not just a battle against you! There’s also other FA guilds, and believe it or not, there’s also Maguuma on the map too!

Went to defend Klov just now against FA, caught an FA underlevel guard speeding across the land in the usual ‘stop-start’ motion that raises eyebrows. Wasn’t able to get the report fired off because his character was out of my ‘range’ within seconds.

There is an FA engie that can glitch into towers/keeps/smc. It was shown on a livestream not long ago, I’ve a link to a youtube video that has the footage if anyone wants it.

I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield and if you happen to notice an asura thief, of [CERN], that downs you but does not kill you then it is myself. I prefer to let my wvw friends/enemies get on with the job at hand so when it is suitable I do not fully kill my enemies. I enjoy the fighting but I’m not interested, terribly, in lowering the morale of my enemies.

That is not to say your morale is easy to lower, rather, it is an acknowledgement of how easy zerker thief is and how much I feel acquainted with it.

Enjoyed slaying yaks on FABL today. FA you need to up your game, even with the guards and defenders I still managed to destroy your yaks.

That ^^ commander for bomb on me not only said that he single handedly carried FA but also said that FA is going to be away this week so they’re going to lose.

Isiah, just a lil tip it’s not ‘error on the side of’ it’s ‘err on the side of’

They were obviously doing it for a reason and they probably wanted someone to notice and then to write a comment about it on the forums, so that’s what I did. They were just a single warrior but they way they moved across the field was reminiscent of a hundred majestic wildebeest cruising across the golden horizon.

Just had a fun 5 minutes chasing an SoS warrior around LLK. They were a gimmicky heal build and had the greatsword equipped to spin away and then the sword and horn to leap away and horn cured the conditions. 30 seconds after I switched to my zerk ranger they decided to spin, leap… etc into a safe spot and then waypointed.

I hope this is the new Meta of SoS WvW… It was the longest time they’d spent in our third of EB for ages :p

I’ve got a few screenshots of the SoS thieves in the mock guilds [STUN] (mocking a guild on TC, and a commander on TC) that were glitching into Klov and LLK if anyone is interested in that.

To that SoS who was killed by 3 members of [TUNE] on FA and then /laughed at, you put up a valiant fight.

Another glorious week of hammertrain auto attack warriors with a dash of full zerk thieves/eles that run away as fast as possible after one hit (that puts them at half health).

Thanks to APS for the interesting fights in TCBL recently. I also learned of an arrow cart placement that I’d never thought of (when attacking the NE tower) which was pretty cool.

Yeah, that was weird… I was inside with my banner ready, the Lord was rezzed by someone else and out of nowhere BOOM, garrison flipped 3 seconds before WP was up. No circle, no warning, just all of sudden flipped. Weird.

Maybe FA would have gotten Garrison anyway, we barely killed their golems and only few of us left inside, but it sucks losing a garrison with glitches like this.

Yes, the FA zerg is strong. Taking advantage of our low OCX population.

When I took that screenshot there was no-one left in that tower, your zerg had cleared it out and was returning to the garri. But we did have around 10 players, including myself. We were being lead by a good commander, he is not OCX though so this time-slot is not entirely suitable for him but he chipped in to help. We didn’t have many in mumble so our organization was not up to par with yours. This was TCBL.

And no need to apologize about the capping issue. I’ve seen it happen in other matchups and it’s frustrating but at the end of the day there’s not much I, or we, can do about it.
