I’m enjoying this match up. I needed to complete my maps. Even though we are winning there has not been a change in how intense and enjoyable the fights are. I was particularly impressed by a player from Maguuma, in the guild [FASS] (IIRC). They were all alone defending Pang from our zerg and they put up a valiant effort using a well placed AC. Although it was over briefly, the fact that you stayed there was very immense.

Right now there is a speedhacker from BG zooming about EB. And they are movin’ with the zerg that was just pushed out of outer OL. Please make it as fair a matchup as possible!

Thank you BG for the good long fight. After a few hours offline it was fun to get back into WvW with the big N.C. and zerg it out with you. You fought well to get O.L. But you won’t have it for long!

Personally I feel that the day after the poor yak parade was murdered, we had vengeance. I remember FA’s score being reduced to zero… Which wasn’t entirely fair because it wasn’t really ALL of FA that massacred the yaks.

The last note-worthy wub wub experience I was involved in was earlier today in SBI defending Hills from the SoR armies. It was going pretty well for us until they managed to get a portal bomb inside the lord’s room, and that basically almost broke my computer (everything started going super, super slow and no skills worked – i wonder if it’s the same for the people attacking? I am honestly unsure, never been in a portal bomb/army that large). So that was that.

Recently what I have noticed is the very fast reaction times SoR have, and the sense that they are ‘everywhere’ at once. It makes for an exciting time in wub wub (even though you know that eventually the zerg will roll you :p)

On the whole portal bomb side of things and everything.. Yes we get the exact same problem.. We actually had a few people crash when they took the portal into the Lord’s room. It was great fun fighting for that keep though, and I hope you had the same enjoyment.

I feel sorry for those that lost connection during that important time; the same has happened to me a few times aha. T’is somewhat bittersweet. I really enjoyed the defense there today, I arrived somewhat late, but got into it fast – and I learned a few more tricks and what not, at least for defending Hills.

Last week SoR repeatedly exploited culling to defeat TC’s zerg. They would all run away until their models unloaded, then all rush back together dropping everyone before they even appeared on our screens. They would constantly drop portal bombs on us. Yes, their coordination should be applauded, but if these are the kind of pathetic ‘strategies’ needed to stay competitive then I sincerely hope that TC drops back down the league tables so that we can actually get a fair fight.

I guess strategic retreats, fake retreating, circling around, flanking, portaling, and such is in no way any form of tactics?

If you whine about someone abusing culling, you should realize no one is abusing it, and servers will still use their tactics once ANet fixes culling.

If your server has people chasing a group of enemies, and gets surrounded because you didn’t see the rest of the enemies it’s not them abusing culling. If you get flanked its not abusing culling, if people fake retreat and wait for the enemy to give chase, so they get spread out in a “train” to get killed, its not abusing culling. The list goes on an on.

Especially when all sides are effected by the culling, not 1, not 2, but all 3.

fake retreating = strategic retreating
‘circling around’ is another way to describe flanking.

I think if some of the large guilds would just own up to the fact that their massive numbers in the zerg make them practically invisible, people would be happier.

Well by this point pretty much anything anyone from SoR says will be ripped apart, put back together out of context and used to prove whichever high minded point of view the poster feels like today. Something like “I like Pie” could be used to demonstrate SoR’s flagrant ostracism of Hot Dog lovers or their Vendetta against the humble Sausage Roll. Kind of over even checking up on what’s going on given what this thread’s turned into.

Yup, we should all get banned for training our new members and getting to know the new guys in SoR, getting ready for T1, although having any T1 server in our place wouldn’t change a thing. Totally.

If you’re planning to quote me on that, we ‘trained’ our newer members by telling them via voice comm about what tactics we use, which guilds excel at which stuff… etc.

The irony is not lost on me that the zergiest server in T2 needs an entire week to explain to people via voice comm that what they have to do is follow the commander, press ‘f’ on a portal, press ‘1’ when near enemies, and remember to remind yourselves that you’re the best up-and-coming server with the greatest commanders and tactics.

It’s painful to see the SoR name being dragged through the mud due to the decisions/actions a few commanders and guilds have made.

No, some of our more casual players and some of our transfers haven’t gotten into the swing of how we do things yet.

Most of us are upset that you gamed the system last week, but at this point it’s more a matter of not wanting to deal with how tedious playing against you has become than it is any sort of malice.

It’s a different story with a second server our size or larger in the mix as it gives us more options, but when it’s basically two servers with comparatively no presence — and the bigger server mocking us on the forum — then it just isn’t fun.

Look, understand that I don’t mind losing when we’re outnumbered. That isn’t the problem, and you’ll note that the majority of folks on TC didn’t complain against BG. The problem is the attitude we’re being given by an ungracious winner. You’re training on us? You’re begging us to come out so we can train your recruits? Do you not see how that is insulting? People bragging about a scoreboard is fine because at least that’s something we all expect to see and something we know is going to happen. This nonsense SoR has been posting isn’t fine.

If you guys were being cool about it then we’d probably have no problem. It really boils down to that. You should be ashamed of yourselves for treating us this way. It has nothing to do with it being a game and everything to do with being decent people. You were decent people until you were in power — what happened to you guys?

It’s just too much effort to care too much about anything this week when we have to deal with this sort of nonsense. We’re still going to play but don’t expect us to put up with your crap.

Personally I’d say shake it off. People like dominating, and they like letting everyone know they’re dominating. I doubt we could resist being pretentious if we were in their shoes.

Got stuck there a few mins before you rolled thru, was hoping maybe one of you would pull me out but nothing like that occurred. Eventually had to WP out after my ’you’re in battle no wp’ing’ cooldown went away.

I’d like to thank those of FA that I fought against during the last few hours.
Many, many enjoyable battles were had. Particularly around LV!
I didn’t see many CD players, but I did find one attacking around a keep (he was a ranger). I’m not sure what you were doing there buddy!

All in all I am very proud that our commanders and our players decided to do something, and got it done.
I’m even more proud that there are other world versus world players who recognize that there’s more to war than just fighting!
Looking forward to more interesting activities to come.

It’s nice to do the ‘peaceful’ activities every once in a while, and it really shows that there is good sportsmanship involved between the servers. As another poster has already pointed out, similar activities have occurred in major world wars in the past.
I’m proud of what we achieved today and I am sure that our actions prove, if you selfishly mess with a mature, peaceful activity you will be brought to your knees.

This is happening too conviently after the patch and to too many people. I think it is on their end, not yours. It’s possible, but I have tried so many fixes and none work. I have the same problem as you.

Hello friends.
The last week or so my internet has been playing up.
What happens is that when I load up guildwars, get in game, it will disconnect. This happens at random, however, it’s getting worse and happens more and more often almost as soon as I enter the game.
When this happens, I am unable to load webpages, unable to log back in, unable to use the internet basically.

I then use the ‘repair’ function to try and fix it, sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t.

It usually slowly comes back on 5 or 10 minutes after disconnection, but once I load guild wars up, it fires off again.

I’m not very tech-savvy, so any and all help is appreciated c:

I was in a dungeon when this all happened. What exactly was the exploit? Just curious. Could ANET please tell us who haven’t exploited yet when they’re happening to give us a chance to catch up. We all know they’re going to “mis-code” something else in the near future so just give the rest of us a chance to make some gold.

From my research they nerfed the drop rate of exotics in the chests (via the clocktower) and the drop rates of t6 items in the labrynth.

this had other effects, e.g., people buying mad moon shields for 15g which are now selling for 70g (post anet nerf, lol, kitten you anet)

Do it, give it a try.
Use like an algorithm to make sure you don’t OVER DO IT.

But seriously, I know so many people that exploited the unending h’ween doors, and the same people have now made ridiculous gold from the insane drop rates of the chests. Both of which are now nerfed...

I’ve been making steady (albeit small) amounts of gold each day by farming nodes and running dynamic event chains.
I’m only lvl 42 right now, I think once I am 80 I will be able to farm high-end nodes and increase my chances at rares/exotics so my gold per hour will go up.

As far as speed goes I am pretty sure all swiftness effects are standardized at 33%. There are some abilities like engineer’s tool belt ability for slick shoes that allows you to run twice as fast for a much shorter duration though.

You can easily have 100% uptime on swiftness for warriors at least. It beats any passive speed buff.

This is also true for engineers. The “speedy kits” trait is awesome and only requires 10 trait points to get.

Hello. I’m thinking of playing a thief for a while because I like their natural speed buff.
It’s instant and is a decent buff.
Have I missed anything>

I’m an MMO player of almost a decade now.
I’ve been playing GW2 since release.
Farming everyday.
I’ve only hit the DR with certain mobs, and only a few times.
Farmed for a few hours tonight, around the top half of a map, hit no DR, everything was successful, and I made my gold.

I just want to balance discussion – as always, lots of people are going to complain.
If anybody is reading this, know that it still is possible to farm, make cash, and enjoy the game! If you need more advice on how to do it, :p, just message me and I’ll give you some tips.

Thanks for letting me know that 40-odd people won’t play a massive free to play game after dinging level 80 and decking themselves out in full exotics because they don’t feel a sense of progression and thus want all efforts to cut down on botting to keep the economy healthy dismantled just so these 40-odd people can log in and farm farm farm farm farm gold and then feel like they’re doing something worthwhile with their time, i.e., feeling a sense of ‘progression’.

Here is an idea: How about you and your friends do something fun together and maybe you’ll feel a sense of progression in your friendships, via this free to play online game that has been out for a month.
