Anyone from FA happen to know the name/account name of the FA thief in the uber pink ponies of death guild that is constantly hacking?

At the end of the day wvw is a fluid and organic thing, filled with experienced players and new players a like. There’s always going to be zergs moving around, possibly even blobs, depending on the numbers of players. I don’t think that many of those players would even think about coming to the forums to read how their playing in wvw affects the other servers. Furthermore, I don’t feel like it’s my place, in game, to say how they should play whilst in wvw.

I had a lot of fun a few months ago running with Nightlight in an organized zerg crushing group, we ran low numbers, very tightly organized, de-tagged, in order to surprise and crush zergs. It works, and it’s a lot of fun. Blast the might, pop the veils, and go your hardest.

I think FA guilds have the right stuff to do this too, from what I have seen. I know you’re a soldier of fortune, and that’s your calling in wvw, but perhaps you may need to look into a zerg crushing crew as an answer to the issues you’re facing.

Beyond that I know for a FACT that FA and TC will see a lot of each other over the next few months so I would like to see some more roamers from you guys.

Haha, dude, they’re on your server you should at least keep and eye out and report them too. You seem to have some ideals about WvW and I think having no cheaters in wvw would probably fit into that arrangement of ideals. I totally agree zerg tactics are not the only ones to be used on a map, and you won’t find me in a zerg. I run small group or by myself because for me zerg = lag = death. I’m constantly fighting against numbers greater than the comrades I have with me but I don’t give a kitten because it’s not going to change. Pug commanders are gonna grab pugs and zerg. Guild groups are gonna zerg. Small guild groups are going to hammer train on other guild groups and hope their ping is better, or they’ll hammer train against pugs and slap each other high fives and have a little tug as their kill counts go up. Such is life in wvw. Pay the repair fee and get back out there.

I’m going to swing you a tip. Last night (probably around 10:30pm to 1am Queensland, Australia time) in TCBL was pretty good for random engagements of small numbers. Fa had one or two small guild groups on, but they weren’t hammer trains (mainly thieves mesmers) and they were assaulting our camps and what not. We had 1 commander focused on defending a certain camp, whilst the rest of us were pugs. I had a great time with 2-3 other people fighting against these small groups, SoS joined in with a similar number and it became interesting even more. Maybe if this time slot suits you, it could be possible to find some action like that for yourself.

I report stuff if I see it, but since I don’t stand in towers all day, it’s rare to witness.

You seem like someone I see eye to eye with, so why not convince your two home boys to drop their fail troll acts? It’s pretty obvious these other two like the warmth of a turkish bath house in wvw.

Mate those two both have a lot of wvw experience and have been with TC during the tough times, like when we were being monstered a few months back and could only just keep our Garri (nothing else) on TCBL.

My final words on this is that zerging is going to always be a part of wvw (and perhaps an issue, depending on how you view it) as Urrid stated earlier. As far as my experiences have been most zergs are between 15 to 25 people, generally lead by a commander either in a Wvw based guild (with some of their guildies alongside them) and mostly pugs, or a free-lance commander with a spread of pugs and et al (this is TC).

A blob, in my opinion, is 2 or 3 organized wvw zerg guilds combining to create an 80+ mass of players. I haven’t seen TC do that in a long time, but then again, I don’t get myself involved in that action coz of the inherent lagginess.

Finally, I’ve attached a (hilarious low detailed) photo of the numbers I was running with last night when we moved to take FABL Garri. We were lead by an experienced commander of a wvw guild on TC, but it was mainly pugs and barely any were in mumble.

We came up against a SoS zerg or two full of organized guildies in wvw guilds, plus the FA defenders… but that’s life in wvw.

I don’t think FA is in a bad spot at the moment. Most FA players I see in wvw are in wvw based guilds and seem organized and playing the professions and builds that (supposedly!) lead to victory.

Organized guild groups with voice com obviously find it super difficult to take down a group of pugs and really need the extra training there, so please, pugs go fight them, enjoy the hammer stun train! <3

God, that pic is great, it’s a good action shot – and during my 1 year or so tenure on TC I’ve felt exactly like the guy Five Lives has felt :p Hang in there!

thanks to the SoS and FA players who:

1. don’t zerg around in hammer traints (lol epic wvw)
2. don’t play as p/d thieves and run when half health
3. don’t play as zerk thieves and run after burst is blocked

So that leaves not many of you, but to those, the fights have been great so far.

TC is the T1 champion of all time, for all time. They are the best WvW server without a doubt.

I’m looking forward to fighting someone other then SoR. Every battle with them has been reduced to spamming auto-attack thanks to their Tactical Tier 1 blob of tactics and stuff.

I hope that all the fairweathers who want to wvw like that, and came to TC thinking that’s what they’d get, have realized SoR is the server for them! Enjoy all that farming of wxp and loot bags You will have a really important wvw ranking soon, maybe ranking 352, or even 4358?

TC, you’ve been champs. Morale has been high despite the many set-backs. Shout out to a certain great amount of people constantly fighting in wvw for many weeks now, rain or shine, keeping morale and energy high.

I was playing earlier today and it was against a large IRON contingent and a few other guilds too. I was defending TCBL Garri. It was another really, really fun engagement on the battlefield. Some of your fighters attacked the south inner whilst the main part fought at the north. That sort of thing is fun. Moving around the garri, hunting and fighting, never knowing where the enemy may attack next is so exciting.
This experience in TCBL now is really entertaining.

Thanks to the SoR group that pressured us at TCBL garri. That was a very entertaining fight and reminded me why I love to play WvW.

The only good thing about WvWs ranks, is the higher title you see on the enemy, the more likely they only know how to press 1 several times & where their zerg is ;p

I just laugh every time I hear such a statement. I zerg and to the contrary, I almost never hit 1. I play a d/d ele, so I just cycle through all the attunements. When everything is on Cool down, I use #1 of air, which doesn’t last more than a few seconds. I’m sure there are many more like me. But I guess that is how you play in a zerg….. My advice, join an organised guild.

Your experience is contrary, however, I’d say ‘pressing 1 to win’ pretty much sums up zerg warfare. GvG on the other hand, requires skill rotation and thinking. However, with zergs, it’s possible to just run around using 1, especially as a short bow thief, MH axe ranger, staff guardian, etc and be completely fine and ‘successful’. In fact, and you probably know this, when zergs collide often the server lags to the point where players can only auto attack as the other skills simply will not function.

If you’re looking for abusing the loot system you’re not in WvW, you’re zerging through Frost Gorge, and champ farming with a vastly higher time efficiency.

As far as ranks go, as they stand, they are virtually meaningless as titles only the enemy and you can see. Farming for WxP is more time effective in capping supply camps, sentry points, and mercenary objectives as they can be traded quickly and easily. Though once a player has obtained Guard Killer and Defense against guards, farming WxP is not as attractive and they’re likely to just go look for fights at that point.

The short answer is no, trading big ticket points like Stone Mist or a Garrison Fort are not really a source of intelligent XP or loot grinding.

Personally, I agree completely.
Sadly, in my experience, and the experiences of others… Recently people playing WvW have been disinterested in actually playing it, rather, they just view it as a system to get lootbags and wxp. Which is really dull, and corrosive to what a good WvW experience should be, in my opinion.

I feel as though it should be an honour and a privilege to defend a fully upgraded SMC – however – many others don’t, and this is causing problems…

Do WvW (a.k.a wub wub) ranks hold any meaning if, for example, players would prefer to let a fully upgraded SMC fall just so that they can ‘flip’ it and gain the xp and Champion loot bag?

The FA group [PRO] running a lil squad on EB right now is doing good, thanks for the fun fights.

Please cease the whining about blobs and what not.
People want wxp, they want champ bags, they want to defend their server.
You’re never going to be able to stop that, so put your energy elsewhere.
If you don’t, what you’ll end up doing is creating a community atmosphere where anyone not running solo is a blob and is ruining wvw. And that, my friends, is insanity.

Plus it is tough to know what people meant by a laugh. They may have been laughing at themselves for taking so long to kill you. 1 vs 15 isn’t really an accomplishment.

Holy Pickle and his mesmer sidekick have a bit of a reputation going now. He, as a guardian, is notoriously difficult to bring down. And the mesmer pops around and then hits you where it hurts. In other news, a wise Dolyak came to me in a dream last night and told me this:

1: A server is a large number of players, all complex and unique in their own way. If a few people /laugh at you after you die, those few people do not a server make!
2: We’re all playing the same game, so have fun knowing that others are having fun too.
3: You say you’re competitive? Well part of being a good competitor is being humble when winning, courageous when losing, and always aware of the bigger picture. This is just a game within a game – it’s for fun, pleasure, good times and memories.

Buff the pets. So what if this leads to 2 rangers going into dungeons for hours and hours on end completing it by themselves? It’s not a big deal. Warriors can already solo dungeons. The benefits of buffing pets far outweigh the cons. I say it again, so what if 2 rangers want to sweat it out in a dungeon for hours and hours on end just by themselves.
