For the sake of equality and to be somewhat interesting, I’d like to see that all stat combinations give equal amount of total stats.

Maybe players could have 3-5sliders that they can customize and choose exactly how much and what stats you want, that way meta builds would only be meta suggestions and players could modify stat outputs regarding their skills.

Weekendwarriors and leaving matches

Hi!

After the patch that brought us unranked and ranked it’s been lately more and more noticeable how horrifying the difference is in matches between weekdays and weekends. On weekdays matches are worth playing, most of the players have basic knowledge of pvp, how to use targeting, why to defend points etc, games are usually even and the biggest thing, PLAYERS STAY IN GAME. But when weekend comes and those weekendwarriors start up their computers, they get put up to same matches with “normal” people who play during whole week and it basically ruins the whole experience. It’s obvious that many of them have forgotten and lost their skills and knowledge of pvp. Most of those weekendwarriors are players who come to just spend time in GW2 (which in itself is nothing wrong but in pvp it kind of is). They dont care about working for those wins, for example in unranked, if the first fight is lost and enemy gets a lead they might simply just leave the match because they won’t get punished by that. And I dont blame them since in unranked that’s possible, it’s certainly easier to just leave and wait for that fight to end and then queue new one and hope to get carried better. In ranked matches it’s only a little different, players won’t leave that easily but instead they stay afk at spawn. That’s not punished either.

Im not saying that all matches during weekdays works like I said, nor that all matches during weekends are like I said. Just that majority of them goes like that and so there is huge difference. Why isn’t the MMR and matchmaking affected by when was the last time you played certain class/account overall? And why there is no penalty or even a way to reliably report those who leave matches in unranked or afk matches in unranked/ranked?

(By the time I wrote this during matches, 2/6 was 4v5 and 1 or 2/6 was players afk)

I’m curious how long Anet thinks people will tolerate this. Before this weeks updates games were “good”, without few ridiculous exceptions (3v5’s or solo queuers vs full premades) here and there it was otherwise fine. You had chances to win even if you had worse team comp, but still, I got to play on my skill level against enemies on same skill level. But now, on this week I’ve been only matched up against 2-5man premades with mostly full solo queuers. And what’s even worse is that there are always some top tier pvp players (not leaderboards but weeklycup winners etc) and I definetly don’t match up their skills with my random playing. And playing in games like that is not fun to anyone.

I don’t understand the reason for removing solo queue because playing against premades as solo queuer is kittened. But more I don’t understand how anet thinks that mmr is working. Because it definetly is not.

So you used tickets for Hero skins instead of Mistforged out of greed and now you like them to accommodate you by undoing your mistake so you can make them all Mistforged anyway b/c shortcuts and ‘I didn’t know’?

I’d be happy if it was greed, sadly its perfectness. But kind of yes, I didn’t know and I’m hugely surprised if I really was the only one that this happened to.

The Devs may take your suggestion (not a bug) under advisement, and implement it some day. In the meantime, as stated, you will need to purchase any weapons you wish to upgrade, …again.

Upgrading Hero's to Mistforged Hero's

I don’t see why (or how) they would make a Wardrobe-locked skin become able to be forged. For example: You can’t go into your Wardrobe, take out your Dawn skin, and then reforge it to make a new Sunrise legendary. Once you delete the item, it’s gone.

I don’t get why you guys keep comparing precursor skins with these wvw exclusive skins. You can’t buy precursors from any vendor, you get them as rare drop from mystic forge or from mobs. These wvw skins doesn’t drop, you can’t sell them, you can’t buy them from TP, you only acquire them to yourself with tournament tickets, which happen to be pretty rare.

Regarding on latest feature patch Anet fixed many things that was confusing to new players. I think that the current way of upgrading these weapons is very confusing. If you want to do the upgrade (which is only making sense if you do it because you can’t buy mistforged weapon straight up) you are forced to keep the rare weapon(s) safe in somewhere wasting space, waiting months until you claim more tickets and upgrade it. Why not for example let the vendor sell you Hero’s skins which unlock to account wardrobe, then if you want to upgrade the preowned Hero’s skins to Mistforged ones, bring all the new stuff that is needed to npc and he’ll upgrade it. Why to even involve the mystic forge at all?

And just to remind you, after first tournament there was +3 months waiting before the current one started. Only reason why you bought Hero’s weapons instead of getting Mistforged Hero’s weapons straight, was that you either wanted more of those Hero’s skins OR you didn’t have enough tickets to claim Mistforged skins. There was 3 months waiting time before you could acquire more tickets and upgrade them. If you only think this situation with this new type of tournament where you get rewards every week it doesn’t seem that big of a problem. But after this tournament ends, there will again be a long long waiting (probably) before the next tournament kicks in. And that waiting time is mainly why I don’t see any good reason to keep the upgrading working as it currently is.

That’s true, they might have originally designed it to go that way, but with the wardrobe update, which still came before the first tickets were earned, there should have been some kind of modifications to it.

If skins worked that way you could buy a Khrysaor and use it to make Sunrise …

If I recall right I was only talking about hero’s and mistforged hero’s skins which are avalaible only from wvw tournaments and there are no duplicate skins that you could acquire from somewhere else. So this comment was …. yeah.

I am more trying to question the logic behind this. Everyone bought those weapons, either Mistforged or Hero, only to unlock the skins. I bet that nobody bought for example double daggers just because he runs d/d ele. He bought one dagger to unlock skin and transmuted it to both daggers through wardrobe. So why to have those items as actual weapons, why not a skin that unlocks and the vendor could sell trophy item or something that comes avalaible when you first unlock the skin, and that could go into forge when upgrading. Them being weapons is pointless to majority of people.

Hello!

Is the mechanic of upgrading meant to be the way it works now? For example I bought 6 Hero’s weapons after first tournament because I wanted to get more of those Hero’s skins vs getting only two Mistforged skins. Now during/after this current tournament I would like to be able to upgrade few of the Hero’s skins to Mistforged skins but it requires me to have the original Hero’s weapons. Which I don’t have currently. Why? Back when I bought the Hero’s weapons I did it to unlock those skins (and I assume that everyone bought them for skins, not for the weapons itself). When I got them unlocked I salvaged the items, like I usually do with any skin that I unlock, because we have the wardrobe to move skins to equipped gear which are better statwise. I couldn’t have imagined that I would have to save those 6 useless items wasting space in bank or somewhere else, waiting the precious day when I happen to find more tournament tickets and finally be able to upgrade the item.

So is this intended? And does this mean that I (and others with same problem) can’t upgrade the Hero’s skins to Mistforged Hero’s skins anymore without wasting exessive tickets?

TL;DR Upgrading Hero’s weapons to Mistforged Hero’s weapons should have some better mechanic.

The point was so that, if you didn’t enough tickets at the end of a tournament to buy a mist forged weapon outright, you could buy a heroes weapon in the meantime and then upgrade it later. It’s so people who get fewer tickets can still have some reward.

I bought 6 hero’s weapons back then and had planned to upgrade few of them to mistforged ones during this tournament. BUT. Seems like I made a mistake. I didn’t save the rare weapons which I bought, I just salvaged them to get the skins unlocked, mostly to save space. And now I couldn’t find how to upgrade the weapon without the rare itself.

So is there some way to do it? Or is this seriously one of the biggest kittened logic Anet implemented in this game?

It’s a mystic forge recipe, it works the same as any of the others. Which means that yes, you have to have the item. You can’t upgrade something you don’t have.

Just like you can’t make a legendary just by having the precursor skin unlocked.

Yes, I have a few unfinished ‘Historical’ achievements, and have had them ever since they changed the UI.

Are those few repeatables?

Nothing gamebreaking here, but I have been wondering is it intended that I can see uncompleted “Winter Wonderland Mastery” repeatable achievement in my historical achievements tab (under A Very Merry Wintersday). I noticed it first time after the “Battle for LA: Aftermath”-patch and I recall not seeing it before that. Why it bothers me; I have done every single living story achievement byfar, except few repeatables, and the only achievement that I can see uncompleted is that one. I remember skipping few other repeatable achievements during wintersday and halloween too but I can’t see them anywhere uncompleted nor any completed repeatables either.

So can other people see that achievement unfinished/finished too, perhaps other repeatables too? Would be nice to know is it just some kind of bug or do I have to accept that my historical achievements aren’t fully done anymore?

Ok well maybe I forget the healing power and stick with damage/defence. Another possibility could be that I play the 0/5/30/30/5 build with AH related traits when in group and change traits to meditations while I know I’m going for solo, while keeping gear the same. Would that work, does meditations require something exact to be effective?

I’m trying to make a guardian build that works somehow while running solo or with small groups (get supplycamps, kill sentries, not get 1shot but enemy roamers) and at the same time be at least little beneficial in zerg vs zerg. 0/5/30/30/5 AH build seems good for me traitwise but I’m wondering how much healing power effects the heal ratio per boon? Is it worth raising healing power to something between 500-700 to get little more heals with AH or just increase damage/defence overall?

And if there is some other build which would work better for my intent, please tell me! I’ve played warrior mostly byfar so guardian is still a new experiment for me!
