I kind of agree with this, but if they don’t do this they should at the very least make commanders not have their icon in pve areas and only in wvw. Seen my first commander the other day in lions arch and tbh it was nothing but a pain with his icon blocking stuff.
Being able to zoom out further on my norn would be amazing, but also being able to go into first person would be just as great. Jumping puzzles as a norn are nothing but a pain with the camera getting stuck/blocked on everything making it almost impossible to see anything the entire time.
I agree, story mode dungeons should be much easier to complete. However, what everyone who is against threads like this fail to understand is that we want the story mode version of the dungeon to be easier so just about everyone would be able to complete it to experience the story. We haven’t said a single word about explore mode which was made to be very difficult and for the hardcore players, i am all for them making explore mode hard, i honest don’t care since the majority of the armor from completing those don’t really appeal to me.
So again, story mode was made so everyone can enjoy a nice fairly simple story based dungeon while explore mode was made for the hardcore players who like dungeons to be hard. I am completely for making them hard, i am however against making the story mode as hard as it currently is.
AC on story isn’t too bad, we wiped a couple times but once we learned the fights it was fairly easy. The second one on story (the mansion one, i forget the name) was super easy and we beat it with little trouble and was pretty darn fun imo. The third one is where the difficulty really hit the fan and after our group wiping 20+ times i straight up gave up on it and dungeons all together, have yet to try one since. (this was a couple days after the game came out)
The dungeons may be easier when you are well above the level for it and thus have the gear advantage, but if you are roughly the same level and not decked out in top of the line gear for your level they are pretty darn tough and often make you want to give up and spoil them for you completely so you don’t even want to attempt them at all any more.
I just found a screencap my friend took while doing that event with the mass of angry earth elementals.
Yes, I am trying to bump this a little, why do you ask?
I remember that event, i also remember getting down leveled to lvl 6 there so i would get rofl stomped by them. Was lvl 10 at the time so didn’t have higher level gear to make up for the fact i was 4 lvls under them after scaling. I don’t think i ever actually completed that event, i just gave up on it after dying almost instantly twice.
They don’t want people farming the same de over and over which would explain why the event doesn’t pop up as often as it did before. I agree with them raising the time between some events, some of them happen way too often.
Rollerbeetle racing in the grove!
Stuff like this should be made into an activity that is always in the game. As a matter of fact, they should make all the old holiday minigames into full on activities in this game.
they should of tested DE’s more during the betas.
In my experience, the zones that were in the betas are the ones that have very few if any broken events, however the higher level zones that were not in the betas have so many broken events it isn’t even funny. Seems like every zone over lvl 50 has at least 1 bugged event that blocks you from completing a zone, whether it be a skill challenge or an event to escort some npcs who open a gate to an area otherwise inaccessible.
Currently the only way to complete some of these zones are to jump on another server and hope that particular event isn’t bugged or wait 1-2 days and hope it resets or gets fixed. I have come across one in i believe it was the first orr zone that the only way to get the skill challenge fixed was by using some guardian skill on the broken npc to be able to talk to him.
Not all of the champions have chests after the fight, but I’ve seen many people missing a chest when it was a regular-sized one located in a “natural location” near the champion in the spawn area, and not a huge shiny one like after some event chains… Had to yell them to come back and collect their loot
I really wish they would mark your minimap when you complete an event with a chest or at least notify you that the event had one. I am sure i have missed a bunch of them because i didn’t know it had one.
But anyway, i think every champion mob should have a chest. There was one in particular that i think needs one severely. It is that one giant that attacks an outpost in one of the charr zones that pretty much 1 shots everyone. Can’t remember the zone/outpost name but i am sure it will ring a bell for people who have done it.
When Reporting, Having a Gold Farmer option in the drop down.

They’ve already said that you’re supposed to report as “spamming” for the desired result. Spread the word.
Then this is why it should have it own easily identified entry for reporting gold sellers and levelers. I and i am sure countless others have been reporting them as scammers.
Scammers better fits actual players trying to scam you out of something like item trades and what have you and spammers better fits people who spam chat/mail. Both of which are not really that urgent, however gold sellers and levelers are should be much higher priority so a dedicated report option for them only would help both players and anet, and allowing anet to take care of them much quicker since they won’t have to check it to see if they are just a normal scammer/spammer or indeed someone selling gold or leveling.
Thats called bad luck
I call it good luck because i got loads of em before that and have like 20 different types of tonics that imo are completely useless and no idea why i even keep em. The chests in their current state are worthless to me, they don’t really give anything worthwhile.
Once i hit 50 or so i stopped getting chests and keys completely.
It would be amazing if some sort of marker was added to see at a glance if you completed a certain zone kind of like how guild wars 1 was with HM vanquisher.
Another map related suggestion i have is have jumping puzzles part of the requirements for zone completion and show how many a zone has on the map along with the other info like how many waypoints and vistas.
Yet another map suggestion is allow us to click a zones name and see what we have completed in that zone. So say i am in lions arch and want to know which zone/s i am close to completing i could easily click the zone name and it will show that zones completion stats rather than having to pay a fee to waypoint to all the zones to find out how much i have done there.
I would love if the daily and monthly achievements had some sort of variety rather than do the same exact things for it every day/month.
Like one day it could be crafting related where you have to salvage 25 items and make 25 items. The next day it could be kill 100 mobs and kill 15 different types of mobs. The next day could be something like doing the keg brawl. Another could be something like do 5 events in 5 different zones.
Adding variety to the daily achievements would encourage people to do other things they may not have tried yet rather then the same few tasks every day.
Would also be cool to have weekly achievements as well.
I agree with this as well, the other day i completed 2 zones and got the exact same rewards from both zones which i couldn’t even use. (only difference was the crafting materials i got)
Also keep in mind that you need the eye of the north expansion to get access to the hall of monuments.
When leveling my warrior i played with shield and either a 1h axe or 1h sword. (shields help loads to keep you alive) Also put traits into toughness, when leveling i split them evenly between power, precision and toughness.
2h swords are amazing at higher levels but at lower levels your stats are just not high enough to be able to use them without taking too much damage. Also get a longbow for your second weapon and kite mobs around with it, the f1 skill and number 3 skill are great while doing this. Drop the f1 skill and kite the mobs in a circle while inside the aoe and drop the 3 skill right behind you so the mobs run into it right as it hits. I still use this trick with the bow at level 80 if i over pull.
Also get the healing signet skill asap and never use it, the passive heal on it is amazing and works wonders when using the bow kiting i mentioned above as you regain health as you are kiting the mobs, once you get up to a decent amount of health you can swap back to your weapon and whack on em till you kill them or get low on hp again and go back to kiting with the bow.
For more effect with the kiting once you hit 30 get the elite signet that gives the speed boost when used, it is also great for getting around the map.
Is there a way to disable the ctrl + click auto linking? I checked in the keybind menu and couldn’t find it.
The reason i ask this is because when trying to use an unidentified dye i started getting an excessive messaging message and the dye wasn’t getting identified and when i switched from the chat tab i made just for whispers i noticed that i had spammed map chat with a bunch of links for the unid dye and i looked down and seen my ctrl was stuck down. I don’t want this to happen again so i am curious if there is a way to disable this auto linking and stick purely to shift clicking whenever i want to link stuff since you have to press enter for it to go through.
If there is no way to disable this then this should option should be added. I am not the only person this has happened to, i see countless people every day with this happening to them with skills and other usable items. When the option to disable this is added (if they add it) it should be disabled by default, this would drastically cut down on map chat spam.
Then make a rule with your party to not do that, the bosses in dungeons in this game are extremely difficult for alot of people, making them harder would just make the dungeons even less desirable for many more people.
are you sure they aren’t bags of butter and chocolate in bulk…
No, they come from the little bags mobs drop now and seem to come out from them too often.
Thanks. I think I’m lacking precision and toughness. I’m using a gun for range and a bit of kiting, sword and shield for harder fights and a 2H sword for easier fights.
For harder fights or when i get low on hp i whip out my bow and kite the mobs in a circle while dropping aoes behind me. (“3” and “F1” with bow) The guns on warrior are kind of meh imo, they just don’t do much damage at all for me, but that could just be due to not having used em since like lvl 35 or so and wasn’t getting any my lvl to drop.
I’m only lvl 10 ATM, what stats would you recommend for levelling. I have just been going for power and health so far.
When i was leveling my warrior i went power precision and toughness, worked out pretty well. At first i used a a 1h sword or axe plus shield and would switch it to horn while out of combat to get around quicker as well as a 2h sword then i went to 2h sword and longbow.
This is sort of off topic but relates to these last two posts made by Finaldeath and Gehenna.
Making money in this game is not nearly as hard as you guys are making it out to be; I’m a decent level right now and have had probably about 5G in total throughout the whole game. How did I do this? First thing you might say is “oh he must be going crazy on Trading Post selling mats/crafts.” Truth is, all the money I’ve made in this game has been from map exploration(you get some money for 100% maps), npc-ing drops(that weren’t worth it to salvage), doing dynamic events(they pay at the end of the event), and the occasional money drop from monsters. I will admit that I have made money off the Trading Post but its only been 1G if that(since the economy is new).
I know money isn’t hard to make in pve, i am talking from purely a wvw point of view. I make money pretty easily in pve.
The only time i have money issues is when i go overboard on buying junk i don’t really need like a bunch of crafting mats to level a crafting profession i don’t really use.
Same here, the few times i have gone into wvw i have seen a bunch of people just sitting in the start area and 15 20 minutes later after a death or waypoint back i see the same people still sitting there. Also, the jumping puzzles don’t help with this either, as much as i love jumping puzzles, they really shouldn’t have put any in wvw at all. All they do is take spots from people who actually want to play wvw.
Just FYI: Repair costs are there to give a tiny incentive not to die. Before this ‘feature’ players in games would death-zerg stuff. Why not? No risk. And since you’d still get some credit, and be somewhat effective before dying, the only downside was the run back.
The repair cost is a needed reminder that charging the enemy mob of players is a bad choice, and you need to find a better way to become effective.
The need to run all the way back is more than enough of a punishment for dying. Charging for deaths in wvw is stupid because it discourages people from actually helping to attack or defend stuff because of the risk of death and repair cost which shouldn’t be happening.
I would be fine if they made making money in wvw easier like upping the drop rate of loot bags or some better way of getting loot. Like instead of stuff dropping loot bags have an npc at the entrance of the zone that “pays” you for your contributions. I have almost 100 kills in wvw so far (haven’t played much of it yet because it was always full on the server i was on and the server i was on was always being dominated so i didn’t really bother) and have seen next to no loot bags drop.
Not to mention unobtainable loots bags like when defending a keep, you can’t just jump off the wall into a pile of enemy players and grab the bags (if they drop at all) or if you are attacking you can’t get into the keep to get the bags up on the walls unless you actually take the keep which chances are the bags would all have despawned by the time you get in.
I agree, kind of sick of taking a loss when i put stuff on TP. ANET should make the minimum price for stuff on the TP to be at like 5% more than the vendor value plus post cost.
While i agree with Ravn that i like selling stuff that i can’t use to other players that can use it rather then vendoring it, i just don’t want to make less money doing so. To somewhat avoid this i just stop putting everything in the TP except greens or higher, and vendor blues and whites since people seem to price greens a bit better.
