Should have been solo quequueueu but anet wants the people who have friends to be the winners.
My friends have quit and I have returned to attempt attain these wings but this system is a drainer and limited time makes it impossible for me as a university student.
They should reconsider their game modes and the way players are matched up.

Armor weight does not indicate tankiness in GW2. Elementalists and Necros are some of the tankiest professions out there. You’re looking at the composition all wrong. There’s damage, there’s bunker, and there’s sustain. Guardians are heavy armor, and they have the lowest base hp pool in the game. I’ve seen engineers (medium) and tempests (light) hold points against 3 attackers and barely sweat it.

I know you have limited time, but it’s important to have a basic knowledge of how professions work in pvp, if you’re planning on getting the wings. No insult intended, and I hope this clears things up. Cheers!

Not really achievements honestly just a lot of grind being limited.
All the achievements available in the game are stupid grind.
Could you get rid of some of the grind so players who spend their time in study for their degrees have a chance attaining the rewards..???
Do you Arena Net people think that grind is so fun?

All they have done is implement a system which rewards you with stupid wings rather than give us more maps and modes like 3v3 or 1v1

Rarely play because they expect us to collect pips in order to unlock reewards plus we only have a very limited amount of time to achieve this.

Stuck/glitched into ground

Still keep getting stuck or glitched into the ground on berserker. I have to wait to use a dodge roll or Sundering leap in order to move again. I do not see any movement impaired conditions and can even stand around whirling there for 5 minutes using skill 3….

I have been playing the berserker and witnessed on countless occasions a sudden stun in movement after using a skill. It did happen after I used sundering leap although one time I had it recharged and used it to break this “stun” and i figured it was the only thing that can break me out of this “stun.” It feels like my character gets clipped into the ground or something, definitely no skill used on me.

I’ll just say that is what you have T1 for, you can always find people in those servers
T2 is organised and random
T3-4 have loyal players and random + guilds that come and go
any server T5 onwards is random as fek

All you have to do is think ahead, if they have low hp they will move away from you so place aoe infront of where they disappear.. if they have hp then put aoe all on you within half a second

I know what you mean, it should match people who are in a team of 4 with another team of 4 and then add a random into each one of them. The system should know the player is in a team and how many people are in it. It would take longer to match people I guess.. Solo Queueue was good

Played since day 1. Never unlocked Tribal or shield of the moon. If im going to play a game I want to play for good items so i can look good i don’t want to look cheap and dumb, I don’t care if you say it’s just a skin, the skin is what makes it worth playing for just like you go to work to buy new shirt and all that kitten.

So many effortless items and gemstore items currently unobtainable, I remember doing the slickpack achievements, how kittening hard it was on release, meant to be one time only yet they put the skickpack in the laurel merchant which actually kittened me off because at the time it was the only good thing I had. Still no rare drop for me, just an apostle helm from my hard work in pvp..

Well they should be able to check if the gw2 accounts have a gw1 account linked and they might see which time period it happened to see the increase of people receiving these awards. Some of these items have more value than the legendaries, It would be a shame if people got away with this since I couldn’t even get GWAMM and I probably never will. 45 points was all I could get, when HOM points where released I decided to start titles and it was a kitten long time!!

Why the kitten would you be in someones face with a dagger and condi set up thats the dumbest thing i have read all year. You would deal thousands more damage with a pistol and unloading venoms with pistol stealth skill since you dont need to be stealthed in dire is OP as hell noooooooooob

Ok i finally decided to try out Condi dagger dagger, SB off hand focusing on poison. Venomshare used along with leeching venoms.

In Pve this works fine. As soon as I specced him out we were figthing Jormag and after shares i was getting 3+k tick bleeds 5+k tick poisons and 2k+ torments on the dragon and the various champions we fought. This even when the dragon up in the air. With leeching oodles of healing came in. the sharing really boosted overall damage .

I took it over to WvW and about break even in 1v1’s. There a whole lot of conditions flying around at this level and it was hard to get a stealth to cleanse them but when I did get into Iv1 or two i could easily get over 1k poison ticks (more if shared) from the poison and it was easy to put on again.

I did not have a runeset of Orr completed yet so I used Rata Sum of all things. Given bleed duration on base daggers is so high I wanted to get poison as high as possible without taking potent poison and got that up to 90 percent. Rata sum has a radiation field and that piles on bleeds and weakness if they decide to stand in it.

I tried potent poison but found i could get more damage on with Improv as any utility reset allowed more in the way of poison and bleeds. (withdraw/RFI/spider venom/XXX/Basi) .

Precison was fairly decent at 28 percent chance of crit meaning a DB would tend proc a crit so I put a generosity sigil one weapon malice the other. I might switch up malice and put blight , earth ot AOE torment. I did not take pressure strike instead taking trickery so the withdraw and RFI could clear conditions.

Weakness runs a full 7 seconds on posion with that 10 second cooldown so unless cleansed there reall good uptime on that and with vigor nerfed the impact of 50 percent less endurance gain is significant.

it not as survivable as p/d or the p/p trapper condi build I was using but if you play it right in a group your venom shares can really turn a battle around quick.

finally d/d is just more fun than PD. I really had a blast with Jormag fight and those death blossoms/AAS endless dodging in and out dropping caltrops.

I find d/p fun and it also was the previous condi meta set up for reasons you don’t seem to understand. It was clear that you needed pistol main hand to create distance and to avoid aoe with skill 3 and dagger was only used for stealth. I don’t need to be stealthed using DIRE and I don’t know why you think d/d condi is more fun its like a cheap old school power d/d that will never compare so I don’t know what you’re trying to say anywhere.

Here’s a question to go with our trival garbage traps!

Why are our traps such worthless trash compared to a rangers? Have you seen what a condition damage ranger does with them? You can die to their traps by themselves. That is to say their utility skills alone can kill you … “Balanced”

Meanwhile thief traps … oh man, that 3 second immobilize and 3 bleeds and one stack of poison!!! LOOK OUT … IT MIGHT BE A SLIGHT INCONVENIENCE!!! Or how about Ambush Trap, alright I got an NPC helping me … wait wat, it’s already dead. Tripwire? How about they just evade over it and it’s like it never even existed in the first place. At least shadow trap doesn’t suffer from that, but it completely negates a trait that it doesn’t even work with anyway, “Deadly Trapper”. Really, our traps are a pathetic joke, another clear indicator that whatever idiot is balancing our class, doesn’t care about his job.

Meanwhile ranger traps have persisting effects that are useful and do a lot of damage, so even when triggered with an evade, they can still @#$% you up! Totally and completely fair to have such powerful utilities where as ours are borderline worthless.

You must be a total noob. My thief eats rangers within 5 seconds my traps are powerful and venoms help boost condi. Learn to play before posting such paragraphs full of crap

“I could hold a 3v1 with very little effort” excluding the part where you probably weren’t killing them because you spent a majority of that time just hiding. Not to mention, this is WvW we’re talking about, the majority of players there are vastly inferior to hard core PvP players.

I’ve won 1v4’s out there kitten and I run a hybrid build that isn’t even P/D. SPvP though, much much different story. Condi was already pretty weak in SPvP and now thanks to these changes and extreme power creep, plus the formula changes due to stacking nerfing our core source of condi dmg, these changes have actually pushed condi thief out of SPvP in terms of being effective.

It’s so bad due to all of these changes that I went from always playing a condi thief, even in SPvP, to now playing burst thief. Having the ability to stack poison doesn’t make much of a difference for condi thieves other than opening up spider venom as a viable venom for venom sharing. And even then it’s likely they’re still playing burst while using leeching venoms as added burst / healing. Also, another would be good option for poison stacking was also nerfed before even given a chance to run live and see it in action, which not only loses poison uptime, but damage due to formula changes and duration loss – so it’s pretty much unsuccessful as a condi option now. (Speaking of Shortbow / #4 skill choking gas)

And anyway, condi thieves weren’t OP, especially not in a team fight. P/D is way better in a 1v1 than a 1vx situation. And really what made it “OP” is Rune of Perplexity which was much … much easier to utilize as a stealth class, than a non stealth class. So the whole thing that made it feel so ridiculous is confusion on steal + confusion on being hit thanks to the set and lastly, confusion on interrupt.

Really though, P/D was pretty hard countered by deflect / reflect projectile. Can’t say how many times I’ve wrecked P/D thieves using stolen warrior skill or simply dagger storm. They’re also quite ineffective vs elementalists and necros will simply give them the condis back.

The build was hardly OP. even with perplexity runes if you actually knew how to fight it instead of just spamming skills through confusion. And as it stands now, condi thief NEEDS some buffs to traits / weapon sets to be worth anything at all now compared to everything else in the game. As it is now, condi thief is pretty bad.

So bad that I’ve forsaken my favorite play style to play something that’s actually effective.

Please provide the link to the post where bleed and poison damage was lessened. The formula for bleed and poison damage as far as i can see as not changed since patch .

Poison as example is :: New damage over time: 3.5+(0.375*Level)+(.06*Condition Damage) as per patch notes and remains this.

the stack of poison one gets off a trap does as much damage per tick as the stack of poison one gets off a dagger AA. If you are level 80 and get 110 damage per tick off poison than your condition damage is 1275.

Since patch , in order to have received 180 damage per tick from poison you would need condition damage close to 2500.

In order for the poison damage to have been cut nearly in half as you claim then the either the formula has changed from the original June 23 patch notes (which has not occurred as far as I can see) or the number of stacks of poison coming off needle trap was changed. To my recollection it always applied one stack so I want your evidence that such not the case.

Oh and venoms did not intensify trap damage. The amount of damage coming from the trap was not related to venoms unless one traited Venomous strength for more might. Venomous strength remains.

Deadly trapper applies more might then did two seperate venoms triggered. under the old system. You can in fact trait both now.

Ah you are talking about pre-patch?

Not material really . Prior to the patch one stack of poison made no difference from 10 damage wise. I really do not see the poison as a damage source unless I have a build applying more poisons. I used it then as an inhibit to heal and that has not changed. The damage per tick loss is not all that great (130 per tick with 2k condition damage) and can be made up for rather easily with another stack of poison and then exceeded.

If i wnated a poison build i would take spider venom and dagger training.

As to bleeds , I am having no problems applying bleed stacks and get 2 k ticks with regularity. My weaponset remains the primary source of bleeds, the trap bleeds are secondary.

Durations of both did in fact go up after the patch and I prefer those longer durations.
Vulnerabilty stacks applying to poison and bleed ticks also made up for some of the loss in the formula and is applied when traps triggered.

On patch day traps with full dire in wvw output 1800 poison damage over 11sec
Now they output 1300 damage over 11 sec
In pvp it was 1800 and now 1115 poison damage over 10 sec
I can see it on my skillsi am not blind.

Needle trap dealt nearly poison 1800dmg now it is 1100
Bleeds are 10% weaker on trap too.
Venoms where used to intensify trap damage.
Made it perfect for mesmers and guardians.
P/p is meh my guard wrecks them and i hate walking in the park give me the streets

Even if there’s been a nerf to poison damage it’s still possible to take someone down if you pay attention and position yourself correctly. Doesn’t make it any less fun to experiment with!

It is good but now it just seems lame lol back to max dps

To each their own! Won’t stop people from wanting to try out alternatives and confer with those who like stuff other than the meta.

I posted an OP build last week for condition theif and i was so keen to be on that other level, now it seems kind p since pugs ruin it for me.
