not trying to be jerkish about it, but honestly, seeing the classes in action is going to be 100x better than anything someone posts.

do you think repeating yourself makes your point more effective in some way?

if that is the type of game you want then obviously this is not the game for you. complaining that this game does not suit your personal needs is not going to magically turn it into some other game, lol.

i personally am glad i wont have to worry about some endless gear grind at level 80.
that means i can go pvp when i have time to play and have fun, and when i have things to do in my life im not losing ground to the basement dwellers who can play video games 24/7.

also, there are a lot of games people play like this. there are dozens of fps style games where the entire end game is based around going and killing other players and not getting better loot.

also, back in the day when DAOC was in its prime, there was no loot farm. you got to level 50, you get your set of gear, and you went to pvp. that was it. no carrot on the stick. just go pvp because it was fun.

the game still has the reputation of one of the best pvp mmo ever made, hello.

diablo 3 was entirely designed around loot farming and the real money auction house. it also had a stupidly hard max difficulty… anyone remember the nonstop spam of the video with the child running from chickens as an example of diablo3 end game?

gw2 is designed so that people can actually have a life outside of video games and not be handicapped by lacking stats on their gear. their target audience is not the no lifer crowd who thinks they should win through sheer play time and farming superior gear.

i am not sure why people keep posting this type of thing. do you honestly expect them to go rework the entire game at this point?

complaining about this is even more senseless than the reasons people give.

same here, i keep getting randomly disconnected for no reason.

i read in another post that turning off authenticator seems to solve it for some people, but honestly thats garbage. make your account vulnerable to being stolen so you can stay logged on, well until you dont have account anymore.

any way to get on a full server?

it doesnt really matter how you slice it. gambling with your money is a poor choice.

i really like the concept of the game, but this topic does drive me up the wall. i have seen it in many f2p games. they do these gamble things to take advantage of those who lack self control and will keep spending their money until they win. its in poor taste, its low class, and its demeaning to those who actually do try.

if they are that desperate for money then i can expect nothing more than to be dissappointed for buying gw2.

the gambling thing is such a scam to begin with. this is their game, and if the want to they can choose the outcome of your gamble so you spend the most money possible.

im sorry, but thats just being realistic. if you want to sell something, then sell it. do not try to sell me some gamble like I am some moron who cannot see what you are doing.

i would concur that gambling thing is lame. when i want to buy something, thats what i want to buy, not a chance at the thing i want. i would never spend my money on gambles. however, if they offered exactly what i wanted i may consider that option.

imo people try too hard. im running 2x 450 gtx sli, 8 gig ram, and an unlocked b55 to 4 cores at 3.2 ghz with 8 gigs rams and i havent ran into a program i cannot run at max settings in 2 years of this set up.

i think the problem lies with the player, not the game, when their major issues is “not enough personal gain.”

i just bought the game, been downloading something like 4-5 hours. im at about 60%.

the fact that you dont need to be “hardcore” and have the best gear in the game was one of the selling points of the game to me.

i am in college. i take care of a disabled parent. i cannot, and will not, revolve my life around a video game. however, i still love a good mmorpg and have been a pvp fan since rvr in daoc.

if they turned gw2 into wow part 2 where all that really matters is your item level, i would personally be disappointed.

i dont mean this to be offensive, but honestly, if you think playing 24/7 so you get the best gear so your items carry you to victory is some measure of your skill you have a severely screwed up state of mind and i would honestly just feel sorry for you.

My wow account was hacked twice and i never clicked any silly links from forums or anything else. I formatted my HD after each occurrence, but to this day I still do not know how it happened, so I am glad that arena net offers the authentication free of charge personally.

ok so when i get to play, like on thursday because i have a test tomorrow night, how is the thief class doing?

i was thinking like the bow plus sword/dagger if thats possible.

anyhow, i do look forward to playing. a friend was telling me about the 3world pvp and then i saw the thief class, i just had to come see for myself. it sounded and looked like so much fun.

you should really have a warning on the digital purchase like “go to your local store if you want to play today.” lol.
