Whats your end goal? IMO, best to mix and match trying to aim for somehwere between 16.5k to 18.5k of vitality without food with a balance between tuff/pre/cirt%/healing and pow.

Most of us have learnt how to play the ele well. I feel sad for the newcomers that will curse the class even more. Anet, u didnt balance the class, if anything, its a downward movement

Come play during Oceanic coverage. Its basically 60 player BG zergs, 30 player JQ zergs and a bunch of SOR doors. Skill lag seems to be fine.

I would say 60 BG : 35 JQ : 10 SOR
But you are right, playing during the oceanic and South east asia time zone is really fun because the lag is bearable. Im so happy i live in Australasia.

Alright. I just checked a few sites, and long story short, the i5-3570k gets better performance, but that’s about it; when it comes to things like multitasking or hyper threading technology, i7-3930k wins by a long run (i5-3570k doesn’t even have hyper threading). If you’re a bit savvy with overclocking and/or not afraid to tinker with it, you could try overclocking your core a bit to see if you can get better FPS in-game.

Also, I would personally geek out a bit if I managed to get my hands on a Titan GPU.

I’m not going to overclock my CPU for one game. Everything else runs fine.

First thing first. Overclocking by itself doesnt shorten life. Its the over voltage of the cpu combined with heat that ruins them.

Second, i7 were built to be overclocked.

Thirdly, SLI runs better than crossfire

There are some misconceptions in some of the posts here.

I watched that entire video. The biggest thing I learned from it is that realms are not unique to servers … ANet uses a grouped-server system where server capacity is dynamically allocated as a function of need. That would mean that Tier 1 “servers” would actually be drawing from capacity not being used by lower tier servers. That sounds good on paper, but there is no way that a capacity reallocation would happen fast enough to react to the sudden need for more server capacity to suddenly handle a massive WvW battle … in any tier.

In addition, server capacity does not equate to bandwidth.

I to got a similiar understanding from that video. So in summary, Anet made some changes to how the load is distributed in the cloud server that ended up in disaster after the reset.

My gut tells me they made this change to assist with the amount of data being processed to the client, to help with lag/etc.
Would be good to understand if there was a benefit behind this change!

Anet as been very sneaky since beta with numerous Ninja style stealth patches from
class changes to wvw coding. Anet should be upfront about their patch changes, no matter how minute. imho

I have a broadband ISP and my computer is a liquid cooled 3770K/GTX680 with 16gig of 1866MHz RAM and temps that rarely exceed 40 deg C.

Here’s your answer… Any dd ele should be targeted last. 99% of them are bunker builds do no damage. You can kill all the other classes faster.

As far as teleporting into the keep doors, is just a terrible flaw made by anet. No good answer other than it shouldn’t be allowed.

Once the fight with the bg zerg started, it was 2 secs lag too sometimes 5.

Culling is absolutely a fixable problem, and as Habib mentioned in his MMORPG interview, we are planning to completely remove it from the game in march.

Why is it taking so long? Well, I think the best way I can describe how we’ve had to approach this problem is that it’s almost like changing a flat tire on a car that’s still moving. That’s a really rough analogy, but hopefully it helps illustrate just how difficult this would be in terms that are easier for everyone to understand.

Something like the way players render is extremely core to the engine and any change to that sort of thing could cause all kinds of other issues throughout the game. There are a lot of really complex technical problems that we needed to solve, then make sure that our changes don’t actually cause any of those odd side effects.

That being said, we’re confident that been able to solve those problems on the technical side. We still have a bit more testing to do, but we’re not expecting any major issues to pop up at this point, so we’re really looking forward to flipping that switch and getting rid of culling for good!

We’ll have a blog post coming up sometime in the next month to go into more details about the culling fixes and what you can expect.

Could we expect to get better fps too?

No you cant have the whole pie and eat it. FPS is not just the issue here. Latency is the other. If everything is shifted to client side, the problem may be much worse for some.
ALso what about window dragging exploits? If everything is client, expect them.

14k hp does not make eles glass cannons.
I think I was running mine with 13k as a bunker.

Pure breed glass canons would be around the 11k. And thats 30/30/0/10/0 with crit hitting 90%. But eles weren’t designed to be glass. They were meant to be partial support and the other part being dps. This is a stark contrast to gw1

switching to 10/10/0/30/20 now from the usual 0/10/0/30/30 builds. So far i like it. RTL nerf sucks at times but if that is the final nerf to the ele i can live with that.

Yes that is the most up to date list of guilds who moved to BG. Every single one of those guilds are hardcore WvW players.

Unfortunately it has hurt the power of those SoS players still fighting the good fight. Although it seems they are content to not have push as hard as we always did. Contrary to what many people think SoS pushed hard with what we had, everyone was dedicated and put in a ton of hours.

SoS is an amazing community, and will always be remembered as the hardest working server most of us have had the pleasure of working with.

The skill of one JQ player is equivalent to 2 SOS to 1.3 SOR to 1.4 BG are as follows

1 : 2 : 1.3 : 1.4

Hence it makes sense that some guilds feel restricted in SoS.

Dont feel sad. ESO is coming out in 6 months time or 9 months and will duplicate RvR success. But you never know , Anet may release 3 of these additions that will keep us glued:-
